What a night! Adam Lambert’s just released video for Better Than I Know Myself has caught me quite off guard! To be honest, from the Sneak Peek, I thought it was going to be reminiscent of WWFM. But wow was I wrong! The fight between Dark Adam and Light Adam is full of imagery, symbolism and metaphor. In fact so much that it could produce a term paper!
The internal mental fight that that Adam exhibits fills this video. It’s a real test to Adam’s acting ability. Is this is a look into what’s gone on with Adam this past year? At least internally? Not just any artist could pull this off. With nods to Twilight, who knows where this Dark Adam will go. But the redemption from Light Adam takes us back from the edge.
Introducing, the video for Adam Lambert’s Better Than I Know Myself!
Please let us know what you think!

Even though the guest of honor will be working in Europe for his 30th birthday, that won’t stop Glamberts around the globe from celebrating! I’ve heard of parties in Texas, Chicago and the Northwest. My San Diego Glamb buds are gathering too. I know the excitement is building! After all, isn’t it more fun to celebrate someone else who’s turning another decade?!?
Please add your comments below, and let us know what you plan to do. Be sure and include what city/state you’re in and you may find some new friends that want to join you! You don’t have to worry about putting on the social bash of the century. I’ve heard of everything from going to a quiet dinner (I’m sure after a few Glamtails it won’t stay quiet!), to having others over for munchies and videos, to larger dinner parties at restaurants. Share your ideas and you will inspire others!
If you have any pictures you’d like to share, please email them to glambinfo@aol.com and I’ll post them!

Adam Lambert and his mother Leila Lambert received awards yesterday in Beverly Hills, CA from the PFLAG organization. PFLAG stands for Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbian and Gay. Even though there were scary periods in his life when coming to terms with his homosexuality, Adam admits his experience was relatively easy. And he feels his liberal parents were a part of that ease.
When describing the actual time of disclosure, Adam and Leila joke that one of her first reactions was “great – more shopping!” I’d love to hear about some of those shopping trips. The following video is their acceptance speech, complete with a description of the awards received.

Adam had a twitter party two days ago. In the middle of it, he posted:
Adam: POST GAY. look it up. sums up my views
So I did. According to Urban Dictionary : (Yes, there are misspellings. I’m just doing a copy/paste.)
Post-gay
The notion that homosexuals should be able to define their identities by something other than sexual preference.
Post-gay types ought to be comfortable in gay ghetto situations, lest they suffer some sort of internalized homophobia, while realizing that many ghettoized gays are tasteless loosers.
Post-gays are out of the closet and care about gay rights and gay issues. Their stance on identity and culture is a reaction against the fetishization of gay stereotypes by some self-proclaimed liberal types (such as faghags) as well as cultural sepratists (such as queers). They tend to refer to themselves as ‘gay’ and only invoke the word ‘post-gay’ in the presence of the tasteless losers who have co-opted the falsehood of a monolithic gay culture.
Post-gays also realize the history of the struggle for gay equality and know they their attitude can only exist in enviornments where gays are already integrated and accepted. It is only within these enviornments that they critique others.
Also from hardyboy.com:
“Post-gay isn’t ‘ungay. It’s about taking a critical look at gay life and no longer thinking solely in terms of a struggle. It’s going to a gay bar and wishing there were some girls there to talk to.” So spoke James Collard, then Editor-in-Chief of Out Magazine, to a June 1998 symposium at the New School for Social Research. (“Sexual politics”).
Adam has led a balanced life. His friends are spread wide across the personality spectrum. I think this is the Adam we first heard when he said he didn’t want to be a spokesperson for the homosexual community. His focus was music, and being gay wasn’t the defining point to his personality; it was merely one of his qualities or characteristics. Like his eye color.

While Adam Lambert was in New York several weeks ago, he stopped in at Project Runway and was a guest judge! The theme is Rock and Roll, so who better to marry the musical genre with fashion?
From the following promo video for the September 22, 2011 episode, we see another rocker’s Glambulge is getting some attention. Sorry Glambs - I couldn’t resist!!
We’ve been waiting forever for this and now it’s here! Don’t worry - if you don’t catch it tonight, it replays several times during the week on Lifetime.

Adam Lambert spent time with Skingraft owner/designer Jonny Cota for MTV’s talk@playground, discussing the marriage of fashion and music. Adam has been a longtime fan and patron of Skingraft, receiving many of his Idol and Glam Nation Tour pieces from the Los Angeles-based company. In the following video, we get to see Adam and Jonny discussing their growth as artists. It’s obvious from their tone, that these two are old friends.
You can also see Skingraft designs on this season’s Vampire Diaries. Super sexy vampire Damian Salvatore, played by the super sexy Ian Sommerhalder is sporting a virile studded leather jacket in the Season 3 promo.
Check out Skingraft’s incredible line here.
Enjoy these clips of Adam and Jonny discussing how music inspires clothes and clothes inspire music. The smiles are precious! Thank you to Devenlane for giving us the video.

In all the hours of your lifetime that you’ve spent thinking about EverythingAdam, either in line waiting for a coveted front row Glam Nation concert spot, or when you’ve been alone in your car or living room listening to that Rock Master’s voice, have you ever tried to figure out how much Adam earned this past year? Take in his share of all the digital and physical sales of his For Your Entertainment album and what he earned from the Glam Nation Tour and special appearances, and whattaya come up with? (Sorry, couldn’t resist!) Now we’re getting some insight, thanks to Zack O’Malley Greenburg and The Beat Report, from Forbes.com.
It’s being reported that Adam earned a rocking $6 million last year, sharing the second spot on the list with Chris Daughtry. We all know Carrie Underwood is the list topper. In fact, she earned more than the next five on the list combined. I’m sure Eber is thankful he continued to support Adam, even when he wasn’t too happy about it. Remember the Idol family episode where they showed him telling Leila that a little success would be a good thing?! Well, he’s sure got it now. The other thing I hope he has a good tax/investment advisor!!
The following paragraph from Greenburg’s article talks about Adam:
Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry share the second spot on our list, each raking in $6 million. Lambert, the runner up in Idol’s seventh season (it was the eighth season - Carol), performed 115 shows around the world in 12 months; Daughtry played 53 dates in support of album Leave This Town. The top ten money-making Idol alums combined to earn $50 million over the past year alone.
Ummm, Daughtry earned $6 million from an album and 53 shows, and Adam earned $6 million from an album and 116 shows?? Anyone else out there afraid they may raise the ticket price for Adam’s next tour?!?

This just in! Here is the never-before-seen rehearsal video from the infamous 2009 AMA Awards Show. I’m also including some additional footage that includes more casual scenes. The stylist speaking in this additional video states, “I will say Adam Lambert’s performance for the AMAs on Sunday will be an absolute spectacle and I’m sure people will be jaw dropping, in a very, very good way.” Little did he know how prophetic he was being!
For all the people who said Adam’s performance was planned, here you go. This video clearly shows the controversial moves weren’t choreographed. Without the distractions of the lighting and smoke added for the performance, we can concentrate more on the singing. I think it’s obvious that Adam put a tremendous amount of effort to this rehearsal, and it was masterful. Remember, this was before the Glam Nation Tour! We can see that this was an amazingly difficult routine to put on stage. The vocals are tough, the moves are tricky, and the sound from this theater is notoriously bad. I think Adam’s rehearsal was superb and the members in the audience really loved it too. But I sorta missed the Ninja roll! I’m not trying to bring up old news, but I thought you would love to see the rehearsal too. There’s something to be said about viewing a rehearsal, and I’ll leave it at that.
It was fun to see him when he walked by Tommy Joe Ratliffe, playing the keyboards. Wonder if he had any inclinations then? We see that Adam had briefly had his hand around the back of Tommy’s neck. Did Tommy do something at that moment that gave Adam the idea? We know what would come later that night - sort of premature voyeurism!! Interesting side note: here Tommy is singing backup into the microphone. Never saw that on Glam Nation Tour!
Hope you enjoy it!

Performance Rehearsal - For Your Entertainment
Additional Rehearsal scenes
Okay Glambs, I don’t want to start a war here, but we’ve got to talk about last night’s The Voice. I was SO proud to hear that Adam Lambert was being covered. Another feather in his cap! I have loved Nakia’s past performances and was excited to hear his take on Whattaya Want From Me. At first I wasn’t happy to hear of his disappointment in song choice. But he redeemed himself by admitting once he listened to the words, that it was a great song.
And then he sang it. Yes, he did a really good job portraying his version of the emotions of the song, but he seemed to have lost track of his words, sang something at the wrong time, and then the rest of the song felt off.
But this was NOTHING in comparison to Adam Levine’s comments. First Levine looked awkward when he first said he wasn’t really familiar with the song. WHAAAATTTTT? Adam, your music is in the same Pop category as Adam Lambert’s, and Lambert had a grammy nomination for best song, so how could you NOT know the song??? Now my sister just told me that Adam Levine is known for not listening to the radio, etc., but it just seems weird. And then Levine deepens his grave by saying “I’m sure you sang it better than the original.” WHAAAATTTTTT? ARE YOU KIDDDDINNNGGG MEEEE??? If you truly didn’t know the song, why would you say that???
Adam Lambert obviously watches the earlier east coast broadcast, because his tweets are ahead of western program time. So we were prepared for something to have happened when these tweets came through:
adamlambert Yeah Nakia! Saaaang boy!! Great performance. I think Adam might know who I am after this next album. Get ready for me Levine. Hahah
adamlambert
But for the record, Im def a Maroon 5 fan. Fans: there is NO reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective but it’s all good.
If you didn’t catch the show, here is the clip:
I have to get out to an appointment so I’ll leave it here for your comments. Please remember our lessons in positivity, but we have a right to be fans too! All good, Adam!

What a lucky moment to just run into Adam, who was completely alone on the streets of London last week! I found this on Juneau & Xena’s site, and I’m just copying it in case you haven’t read it yet! Click here to read the original post.

From a very lucky fan!
So many of you Adam fans have tweeted me and so I think I should talk more about what happened this afternoon!
I went to the British Library today and after coming out of it, I decided to walk to the Camden Market. On the street right outside the St Pancras train station, I noticed a guy in black with sunglasses walking towards me. He’s talking on the phone. I don’t know why but a voice inside me sort of came up,” Oh this guy really looks like Adam Lambert!”
Then he passed by me and I HEARD THAT AMERICAN ACCENT. This’s very distinguishable when you’re in London isn’t it? So I turned to look at him and guess what? I saw some guyliners behind those sunglasses! At that point I was almost sure it really WAS Adam Lambert.
This froze me on the ground and I struggled for a while whether I should approach him and get things clear or not. In the end of course I did. Since Adam had already gone for some distance, I had to pick up my pace to catch up with him.
He just finished his phone call when I got back to him. So I got up my nerve and asked rather timidly, “Excuse me, are you… Adam?”
“Yes!”
Oh my god! Never in my life would I expect to bump into one of my favourite singers on the street and therefore, I had no idea what I could say!
“OMG, it really is you… Ermerm, I went to your gig in Hong Kong last year!”
Shit, I was so stupid.
But Adam’s really nice and sweet. He just kept smiling and thanked me and then told me his bag was broken (he’s carrying a paper bag).
“Are you on holiday?”
“Yes… oh but no, I’m also working here. I’m working on some new songs now.”
I then asked if I could have a picture with him. He said “sure” and I took out my camera. Since there’s no one we knew around, Adam said, “Let’s see if we can do it on our own!” I pressed the button and took the photo. Yay, we did it.
Here’s the picture. For your eyes’ sake, I’ve chopped myself off. LOL

AND AFTER THIS HE REACHED OUT HIS RIGHT HAND. Awwww how nice was he! Isn’t it I should be the one who asked for shaking hands with him? We shook hands and he said “Have a nice day” to me.
“You too! Thanks so so much!”
Yes, thank you very much indeed. Actually I don’t live in London I’m just a visitor there– it was damn lucky of me to have met a favourite musician of mine in a foreign place! Now my trip is just beyond perfect, I know
Adam Lambert – don’t cha just love him?? He cares so much about us and he constantly tells us so. Sometimes we may not know it, but when he smiles so graciously for the ton of paparazzi that are always in his face, he’s doing it for US. Yes, it’s good PR and if he didn’t his career would start taking hits. But who’s his career for? Of course him, but also for US! When he takes the time to give excellent interviews, it’s for US. When he tweets his private pictures, who’s he tweeting to? US! And it can only be for US that he does his famous Twitter parties!
He held another one yesterday, May 21st. Did any of you get a question answered? He talked about lyrics from his upcoming album, he’s in love(!), going back in time to 7th grade, and even going into the future! We learned that it was his mom’s birthday too! He even gave us all a shoutout with his comment “Glamberts. That name is here to stay. Because you sexy bitches where the name proudly!!! I love you!!” I’m not sure if that was an answer to a question, but I heard that Glambert is now in the Urban Dictionary! Here’s one of the many definitions:
GLAMBERT The official term for a devoted fan of the glamourous sexiness that is Adam Lambert, Season 8 Runner Up for American Idol.
She’s watching Adam’s You Tube videos again. She’s such a Glambert.
Thank you to Juneau and Xena’s Daily Digest for compiling the questions and answers. I’m curious – if you could ask Adam a question, what would it be? Comment below with your questions, and if anyone has heard Adam answer it, please Reply and let us know where you heard it, if possible!
Love ya!

As I was watching the Royal Wedding kisses on Buckingham Palace’s balcony, as only a romantic insomniac would, I started feeling “is that all there is?” I know they have their British decorum and all, but gee, I wanted more. Their ceremony didn’t even include the usual “you may now kiss your bride.”
Then I got to thinking, maybe they’ve never seen what a real kiss looks like?! Thank goodness another one of the blogs was thinking the same thing, and they posted this. I’m sorry, I can’t find the blog to attribute this to. If one of you can post it in the comments, I’ll give proper credit, thanks!
Let’s compare the two:

And now for the real thing, thanks to Suz526!

William and Catherine, you have my best wishes for a long and happy marriage. But if you really want some heirs, perhaps you could take some lessons from our Top Snogger!

I hope you caught this hilarious video of Adam Lambert and one of his favs, Nikka Costa. They have such a good sense of humor and obviously respect each other’s abilities.
The trip into Adam’s naked throat is a killer!

So we learned that Adam Lambert hit his hand (previously thought his head, thanks to mirror.co.uk’s typo!) while celebrating at Lady Gaga’s birthday party. Thank goodness it wasn’t his head! We all wondered what was up? Now, thanks to Twitter, we get the answer directly from him. Another reason why he was such a perfect panelist at the Grammy Summit on Social Media!! Sorry, I digressed.
Check out the swollen knuckles on his right hand in the GI-NORMOUS picture above! Also, the lack of rings may be a sign of hurt/swollen fingers too. If I find a picture of the ceiling, I’ll add it later.
Here’s his latest tweet explaining it.

Was trying for celebratory gesture 4 gaga’s B- piñata style…instead my fist is all bruised and la cita has a hole in the ceiling.

EW.com’s Tanner Stransky is definitely a fan of Adam Lambert and shows it in the first sentence of his review of the Glam Nation LIVE CD/DVD. Here’s the reprint, but for more links, go to the review here.
If there’s any newish pop act worthy of a live release, it’s American Idol runner-up Lambert, whose vocal acrobatics make this a terrific complement to his 2009 solo debut. Because he incubated before us in a perform-or-die setting, Lambert’s ability to work a crowd is audible. Everything from his hit ”Whataya Want From Me” to his take on ”Ring of Fire” sizzles more than the too-too-perfect studio versions. Bonus: Glam Nation Live includes an expertly produced DVD of the concert. A–
My only question Tanner, what was the minus for??!!

I may be the last one to find out about this, but I thought this fan video was so well-done and entertaining, that I wanted to make sure you had all seen it.
The lengths that glitterfans went to to recreate Adam’s If I Had You video shows his long-lasting effect on those who love his talent. Now every time I drive by a wooded area I think of getting my friends and our feathers and top hats out also! Hope you love it too! Allow a few seconds for the sound to come on.

All of us at adam-lambert.org, the Official Unofficial site would like to wish Adam Lambert a very Happy 29th Birthday! Instead of gifts, Adam would like clean water brought to those who are without it, via mycharitywater.org. It’s incredible to imagine that not everyone has water in 2011, isn’t it?
In recognition of his 29th year, Adam has asked that donations of $29 be made, but every amount will be appreciated. Originally he wanted to raise $29,000, but when that was done in a few hours, he raised the goal to $290,000. As of writing this, they’re over 40% successful at just under $121,000. There are 72 days left for this, so if you want to gather donations from a group of people, you still have time! For donations of $100 or more MADE ON JANUARY 29TH, you will receive a signed picture from Adam, via his website. Click here to add to this worthy cause.
While we haven’t organized anything official from our site, we know there are many parties being held by Glambs around the world. Please add your post and let us know how you’re celebrating January 29th.
On Saturday I’ll pull a cork I’m sure, but I have an additional celebration planned. My best bud, Administrator Lila Hayes and I were both lucky enough to get tickets to Adam’s appearance on The Talk on February 9, 2011 in Los Angeles. We’re going up the night before the taping and taking several Glambs we’ve met through this site with us. That night we’ll celebrate together at dinner. I’m sure we’ll have some amazing belated toasts to Adam all night long!
Please let us know what you’ll be doing!

Hurray!! We have visible proof that Glam Master Adam Lambert is through resting after his world-tour and is coming out for fun!
Check out these pictures of Adam from the red carpet at the premiere of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Season 3. It’s certainly a new look for us. He’s taking a leave from the manicured professional look we’ve seen for 10 months starting with Fantasy Springs back in February and giving us a more natural, relaxed side. I just saw Adam one month ago at the Los Angeles Glam Nation Finale. My big question: is it a hair piece or extensions?? No one’s hair can grow that fast!! Let us know your thoughts!!
Rested and gorgeous!

American Idol Season 10 is back starting tonight! Though I’m still pledged to my one-only Adam Lambert, I still look forward to seeing some great entertainment. And I don’t mean the people who can’t sing and need to tell the world they can. The problem this year will be without Simon Cowell spitting out his venom, who will they mouth off to? After giving up what seemed like most of my day/life to Adam when he was competing on Idol (you all remember sitting at your computers and suddenly it’s 7 hours later, right?!?) I vowed before Season 9 started that I would not make one phone call or send one text vote. Little did I know that there wouldn’t be any contestants who even compelled me to do so! And without seeing anyone for Season 10, I make the same vow for this year!
This brings me to an article in our San Diego Union Tribune last Friday by columnist Karla Peterson. She is writing about the “remake” of American Idol. I got so much joy when Adam’s name came up in such complimentary ways. I’ll recap some points in the article, but give you the Adam-mentions in full. Be sure to click the link to read the entire story. Please forgive the delay in writing about this. I couldn’t post this until her article appeared online so I could link you up!
Of course the first points are about the new judges. Have you watched all the appearances of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler as they made their way around the talk-show circuit the past week? I loved watching Steven Tyler perform his Run DMC version of Walk This Way with Jimmy Fallon last night! (I’m still dying to know Tyler’s reaction to Adam’s version of Crying. Has anyone ever seen any comments about this??)
Behind the scenes
Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe (So You Think You Can Dance) is back after a two-year break. He’s ruled out the 4-judge format and the use of young mentors, like Miley Cyrus. I’m excited about the addition of producer and record-company executive Jimmy Iovine, as the in-house mentor. We all know J-Lo’s and Tyler’s personalities, but we don’t know about this guy . . . yet! Word is he’s fast-talking and opinionated. He will be pairing the contestants with high-profile producers to enhance their performances. Can’t wait!
From Karla Peterson:
On the stage
None of these resuscitative measures will bring “Idol” back to life if the contestants are a bunch of dead fish, and the producers have instituted some changes that should liven things up a bit.
After the Season 7 success of the guitar-playing David Cook resulted in a rash of shoe-gazing singer/songwriter types, this year’s contestants are being encouraged to put down the instruments and amp up the showmanship. Maybe they should hire Adam Lambert as a consultant. Also, it looks like the musical-genre theme nights may give way to nights devoted to decades of music. On the one hand, that means fewer awkward disco covers, which would be a relief. But the genres did force contestants out of their comfort zones, resulting in such classic “Idol” moments as Fantasia’s version of “Summertime” on movie night and Lambert’s slinky Grand Ole Opry night take on “Ring of Fire.” I hope we won’t be missing out on more of those.
And in an attempt to woo back all those young viewers they lost over the last few seasons, producers have lowered the contestant age limit to 15. Maybe the producers are hoping they’ll find the next Justin Bieber. Or maybe they’re just praying all the screaming will keep us awake.
Click here to read the full article!
Peterson also gave “A Selective Timeline” for vital Idol moments. The best was:
May 20, 2009: San Diego’s Adam Lambert does not win the eighth season of “American Idol,” much to the shock of everyone, including winner Kris Allen. In December of 2010, Lambert is nominated for a Grammy.

This week we get ready to start a new season of American Idol. While we’re starving for any news on our favorite guy in the universe, I came along this interview by Shirley Halperin from The Hollywood Reporter, with one of American Idol’s vocal coaches. Debra Byrd was there during Season 8, the season that gave us Adam Lambert. Most of the interview is about American Idol, as a whole. But you can’t talk about American Idol, and not mention Adam. He is one of the few contestants who have really been what the show has been all about since the beginning – finding a singer that holds our interest and makes us want to spend our money. Just a handful of contestants have reached that level: Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, David Cook and Adam Lambert. With Adam, we got much more than that. We got an entertainer like no other.

Vocal Coach Debra Byrd Looks Back at a Decade of ‘American Idol’
by Shirley Halperin
Check here to see the article on its site.
From the battle of the divas to an image-challenged David Cook to the sure thing that was Adam Lambert, ‘Idol’s’ resident vocal coach runs down the highs and lows of America’s favorite show.
It’s amazing to think that American Idol vocal coach Debra Byrd (known affectionately to one and all simply as Byrd) was initially hired for only a three-week trial during season one. Nearly a decade later, she’s still behind the scenes walking the contestants through what will probably be the most trying and unforgettable few weeks of their lives, from the auditions through Hollywood Week to the semifinals and beyond, if one is lucky enough to make the Top 12. She’s seen and heard just about everything, and after all this time, Byrd says, “I love the gig and am very grateful for it.” THR’s Idol Worship caught up with the competition’s true taskmaster for a look back at nine years on the show and ahead at what’s in store for season 10.
THR: In all the time that you’ve worked on Idol, what sticks out in your mind?
Debra Byrd: How overwhelming it is for each contestant every season. That’s a constant because almost every one is the kid next door, the everyman, they come from obscurity to this huge platform where there are photographers, cameramen, sound people, hair and makeup… and on top of that, they have to sing great. The constant is the overwhelming nervousness that runs through every season. And there are surprises, too. It never ceases to amaze me when I’m surprised a person’s going home who should have stayed.
THR: Is there one in particular whose elimination you’re still lamenting?
Byrd: Chris Daughtry. But if you look at the big picture, he won. He’s the one with the ongoing career, the record deal, the sales. But it was such a shocker when he was sent home so early. Jennifer Hudson going home was another one. Those three women — Latoya London, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia — were in the bottom three, and as I was watching them, I remember thinking, “I’m okay if Jennifer goes home. She’ll be alright.” But I wouldn’t have been okay if Fantasia had gone home. That was a distinct feeling I had. Her sound was so different, it was something we had not heard. And I also remember that during the commercial break when Fantasia found out that they were in the bottom, she burst into laughter, and it helped me that she burst into laughter. That was an extraordinary moment for me as well.
THR: Do you think the kids who train intensely for Idol with vocal coaches and whatnot have an advantage over someone who might be naturally gifted with zero training?
Byrd: No matter what type of singer, the advantage comes if they’re comfortable with themselves. The more knowledgeable they are about their talent, the better they do in the competition. If they’re freaked out, nervous, if they have no confidence… buh-bye. Those kids go home sooner, they fold faster. But the singers who are confident in who they are do very well on the show, and it doesn’t matter their age — if they’re 28 or 15, they’re the ones who have no problem being on stage through all the madness.
THR: The season 9 contestants have taken quite a beating in the press these last few months and haven’t really been able to relish in the post-season glory of Idol. Do you feel bad for them?
Byrd: I think I felt badly for them when they were in the season. [laughs] The thing is, they weren’t the only season that people said sucked. There are highs and lows to everything. But let me say this: It’s hard to follow the season of Adam Lambert. Like, what do you do next? Do you set yourself on fire? However, my other theory is, if Adam Lambert had been in season one, he would not have survived. Because we weren’t looking for that in season one. The show was so new, he wouldn’t have made it.
THR: And Adam’s post-Idol success has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Byrd: I never doubted it. You could see it when he was on Idol — this is a guy who was prepared. I think he said this was the last chance he could audition, because of his age, and he and other contestants were really smart about how they presented themselves to the planet. Consequentially, he’s made some missteps, but I’m very grateful that he’s been able to bounce back, so I applaud him. Because he’s very talented, very unique, and I think the music world needs him. I really do. Yes, he’s had a great year, and I’m glad for him.
THR: What’s your take on the new judges?
Byrd: They have great chemistry. I’m also noticing that Randy seems to be a bit more comfortable. And I love what Jennifer Lopez brings to the show. Even when she was mentoring, she was succinct and her comments were very helpful. I thought that she got right to the point. And when I heard that she was coming on board, I said, “That makes perfect sense.” It just felt right. She bring that glamour. And Steven Tyler, I love that he has this thing where he’ll sing to the contestant. From what I’ve seen so far, and I’ve only been around them for Hollywood week, they seem to have great chemistry, but I can’t wait until we get inside the show to see how it evolves even more.
THR: What do you think of the show lowering the age limit to 15?
Byrd: I think lowering the age is a good idea because there are some extraordinary 15-year-olds out there. I can spot them. Even during the audition process in the large stadium, I can spot their age and I can tell when they’re comfortable in their own skin. And when they’re not, you send them away and say, “You’ve got time to come back.” It’s not about age, it’s experience.
THR: How has it been working with new musical director Ray Chew?
Byrd: He was very patient and amenable to the requests that were made of him. He always maintained a great attitude, he never looked like he was bogged down, he looked like he enjoyed it! He was in control, so I applaud him for stepping up to the plate because we’ve had other MDs come through and the total opposite was their first experience where they’re uptight or a bit agitated. He didn’t have any of that at all.
THR: Another change that was announced is the sudden death round. Does that mean that a contestant can’t have a single off performance?
Byrd: Yeah, because it’s an endurance test, too. That’s why I say if you’re confident in who you are as a talent, you will do very well. And yes, even people who are confident do have an off day, but you don’t sing out of tune. You don’t crumble. You stand up to meet the challenge. American Idol is a marathon, as opposed to a sprint, so you have to be smart. You must be mentally prepared and have your tools.
THR: What are the tools that every contestant should have?
Byrd: I’m always leery of the kid who comes into my rehearsal room with no tape recorder, or they didn’t bring their music, they didn’t bring a CD player, they haven’t done any homework — it’s like, why are you here? You should never forget to bring your tools: your music, your lyrics, pencil and paper, a recorder, your throat lozenges, tea… It’s like if you were building a house, wouldn’t you have a hammer? Where are your nails and where is your wood?
THR: What do you like about your job?
Byrd: That I get to plant a seed of any kind in these people who end up having wonderful Grammy-nominated, Grammy-winning and Oscar-winning careers. I feel very grateful and blessed that I have had some input into all of that.
THR: You once told me a story about David Cook’s early challenges on the show and how he wasn’t telegenic enough, care to share it with the Idol Worship readers?
Byrd: Well, it bothered me that David Cook wasn’t on anyone’s radar. The media didn’t pick up on him. David Archuleta was in the forefront, Carly Smithson was getting press, Michael Johns… but David Cook was totally ignored and I love this guy, his voice is extraordinary! So I have a girlfriend in Florida who I call every season to ask her who she likes. She lists all those people I just named, and I asked, “What about David Cook?” She said, “I don’t like him, he reminds me of a stalker.” Huh?
So I stepped back, and I looked at him from head-to-toe, as I do when I’m on the set watching the contestants and the judges’ reactions on the monitor, and really took what she said to heart. He had the goods, I knew he could deliver, but it bothered me that she thought that, and I remember saying to David, “You’re not camera-friendly and I am going to make you camera-friendly.” He said OK, and when people began noticing him, I said, “Now I’m going to make you sexy.” And he said, “I’ll take it!” [Laughs.] It just goes to show that vocal coaching goes beyond just checking on your voice, it’s also how you present yourself to the planet.

The rumors have been flying, and now it is confirmed . . . somewhat. Adam Lambert has been included on the 2011 Grammy Nominees CD! The CD is supposedly for sale on Amazon’s UK site, according to a random Facebook page. If it’s true, I’m sure it will be all over the US stores soon. But why would the UK have it first?? Since he’s nominated for “Whattaya Want From Me” it would make sense that this is the track appearing on the CD. We’ll just have to wait and see!
See here for more information.
Oh, and in case you are squinting a bit to find him, he’s listed just right of center on line 3. That’s a little bit different for him - he’s usually just left of center!! Sorry, I couldn’t resist - tee hee!!

If you’re like me, you can’t get enough of Adam! Here’s a bit on his Grammy nomination from Flecking Records by Frankie Genchi.

Adam Lambert is hoping that his recent Grammy nomination gives him more credibility as a solo artist.
The singer has been nominated for the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance award, for his single Whataya Want From Me.
“I was so excited!” Adam told The Hollywood Reporter. “I knew the song would be a key track on my album.
“I hope that at this point, after all the hard work I’ve done over the past year, the nomination will give me credibility as a true vocalist in the industry. And perhaps help fade some of the stigma that comes from rising to fame on a competition show.”
The 53rd Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place February 13, 2011.
Remember, you can vote for Adam in our Entertainer of 2010 poll by clicking here.
The British voters definitely know the talent they have in front of them this week. They’ve voted Adam Lambert as the Sexiest Male Celebrity, surprising no one who reads this site!

From Flecking Records by Frankie Genchi:
Congratulations Adam Lambert, you were voted the sexiest male celebrity by our readers.
Adam, 28, burst into our lives when he auditioned for American Idol. From that moment on he went on to impress so many of us and eventually become the runner up in the competition.
The Times identified Adam as the first openly gay mainstream pop artist to launch a career on a major label in the United States, but don’t think for a second that this stops female fans lusting after him too.
Adam is famed for his supposedly controversial acts. Whether it’s snogging a member of his band, locking lips with his audience or smoking a doobie on stage in Amsterdam, Adam seems to shock wherever he rocks, but that’s why his fans love him, he’s not afraid to be himself and do what he wants to do. Adam is the poster boy for individuality. Oh, and he has an amazing voice, and he’s hot. A deserving winner.
And from a different page on the same web site:
Adam Lambert has come out tops in a poll to find the Sexiest Male Celebrity of 2010.
We asked our readers to nominate male celebs who they found sexy, and received an overwhelming number of nominations for Adam.
We’re not surprised that he won, but it has to be noted that, when it came to the public vote, Adam won with over 50% of the vote. Something which can’t have been easy up against the likes of Robert Pattinson, Ian Somerhalder, Zac Efron, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Adam is currently in the UK on tour, and we’re very excited to have him in our home country.
Click here to see all the runner-ups. And they’re hot too!

Hey Glambs –this is going to be a very special week for us. We’ll be celebrating the holiday with our families and friends remembering everything we have to be thankful for. And in this troubled economic time, we might have to dig a little deeper. At your Thanksgiving dinner table, does everyone join hands and say something special that they’re thankful for? At my table I’ll be including Adam, my new friends via Adam and this web site, even if it’s a silent remembrance so as to not further irk those who love me and put up with my obsession and devotion.
Tonight is the debut of E! True Hollywood Story featuring Adam Lambert. This will play several times through the end of the month, and longer probably. Don’t you think it’s ironic that the debut is opposite of this year’s American Music Awards?!? The one they’ve been hyping with reference to last year’s big surpise that they won’t name or show among their clips!
To start your Thanksgiving off, here’s a preview of tonight’s Adam Lambert’s E! True Hollywood Story!
The following story came from a local San Diego paper. It sounds like Adam will be completely open as usual, hopefully giving us some new surprises. I’m so excited to learn they’ll be showing film from the San Diego stop of his Glam Nation Tour and everyone who watches will get to see what we’ve been ogling about since June!
Love ya!
~ Carol ~
From the North County Times; story by Pam Kragen:
North County-bred pop star Adam Lambert is the subject of an “E! True Hollywood Story” profile that will premiere at 9 p.m. Sunday on the E! cable network.
The one-hour documentary features interviews with Lambert, his family, his drama and singing teachers at Mt. Carmel High School, music journalists, “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson, best friend Danielle Stori and many others, along with footage captured during Lambert’s sold-out concert last July in San Diego.
The special has been kept under tight wraps this month. Even Lambert’s mother, Leila, said last week that she hasn’t seen the program and will be forced to tape it when it airs, because she is flying this weekend to Paris, where she’ll spend Thanksgiving week with her sons (Adam is touring Europe this fall and his younger brother, Neil, is on his tour production crew).
“The producer, Michael Lynn, is very excited and passionate about the project and said the final production is wonderful,” Leila Lambert said. “I was able to share so many videos and photographs that have never been released before, so I think it will be refreshing. I have spoken with many people who were interviewed, and they said it was so enjoyable talking about Adam and his success story.”
For the complete story, click here.
We’ve all been waiting for the day when Adam Lambert will appear on Saturday Night Live, hopefully as combination Host/Musical Guest. Since he’s currently selling out Europe, he appeared on last night’s show, in a comedy sketch. Now, you have to realize this is a spoof, in the truest sense of the word. Please don’t get all railed up saying “why don’t these people realize he doesn’t scream?” Just to have Adam used as a character is a true complement.
I “know” we’ll have the real thing, as soon as it’s convenient for Adam’s busy schedule. Maybe when he’s promoting his NEXT album!
I seem to remember this same SNL player, Jason Sudeikis doing Adam last year, in pretty much the same role - wailing. But I think the tongue is new this season! “Adam” appears at 2:00.
Laugh on!

The idea of seeing Adam Lambert perform from the front row is something that’s crossed every fan’s mind, I’m sure! Except for the two remaining LA dates in December, the Glam Nation USA Tour is over. But we have future tours to think about! My girlfriend Ellen sent me the following video, and I got to thinking about all our strategies.
The General Admission ticket is a double-edged sword. Thankfully you don’t have to be the first person to get through on the crazy ticket-buying website in order to be front-row, center. That is if you can get through! How many of us have been in the situation of pressing the refresh button as the 10 AM hour approaches, and to finally get it live at 10:00:01, and type in your ticket info, squint to make out the LSD-simulation of a security code, only to find out that no seats are available??? But say you’ve got that Golden GA Ticket. How early do you need to arrive at the venue to wait in line all day, hoping to be among the first to get into the arena and get that coveted position?? You have to prepare to lose sleep, dress, make up, and glitter in line. Do you make your back up plans with enough knowledge of the floor situation? Do you say you’ll stand 10 rows back in the center, or would you rather be 3 rows back on the side? These are all things that drive us crazy, knowing we only have 2 seconds to make that decision, once we’re through the turnstiles, approaching the open floor space.
Some artists have Fan Club memberships that offer additional access to benefits such as VIP entrance, Meet and Greets, and merchandise offerings. (No word yet on any Meet and Greet for either of Adam’s two December Los Angeles concerts.) Thank you to my girlfriend Ellen for supplying me with this video on what a Bon Jovi fan will do to get up close and personal with their favorite. Just substitute “Adam” every time you hear Bon Jovi mentioned and you’ll get an idea of what how far Glam Fans are willing to go!!

Adam Lambert and crew have already started on their World Domination, and brother Neil, who is a Production Assistant on the Tour, is thankfully taking to the digital airwaves to give us some more hilarity. That is, if you can laugh at the tragedy that he’s able to make light of! Seems that their hotel is right in the middle of a racetrack, and the noise is deafening! I don’t even want to think of how it may have effected Adam’s and the bands’ performance. Catch the video and check out pictures from the concert!!
Also, if you haven’t seen any of Neil’s and Cheeks’ hilarious videos, you can see them on the side of this video. They leave me rolling!! And check out NegativeNeil’s blog while you’re at it. This boy’s got the talent to entertain you, too! **Warning: not PG at all. Please don’t complain about his use of colorful words - he wrote it, I didn’t!

Adam Lambert has so much to be proud of, as he’s coming to the close of the American leg of his Glam Nation Tour. He and his band have entertained and thrilled thousands of us over and over again. We’ve all heard, and now accepted it as commonplace, that fans went to these shows as many times as they possibly could. (I was at 5 Glam Nation shows – how many of his shows were you all at?) I never heard of fans doing this with other bands. Well, okay, maybe the Grateful Dead. Wonder if Leila and Eber were repeat attendees?
Adam has become the Superstar that we all knew he’d be when we watched him week after week on American Idol. He has shown himself to be a wildly entertaining singer, with the perfect voice that never gave a bad performance. His showmanship and performance value made us want to wait for hours and hours, spending as much as we did for the chance to get up close to see the glitter.
And now his Tour has been voted the Best Concert Tour of 2010. FAXO sponsored this contest, asking voters to register which tour they loved the best. Here’s how Adam won, and what his competitors scored:
1. Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour – 8,646 votes
2. Justin Bieber’s My World Tour – 6,984 votes
3. Jonas Brothers – World Tour – 3,697 votes
4. Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour – 1,328 votes.
We can only wait to see how he takes on the world. But really, is there any doubt?
For the complete posting on the contest, see here.

The Indianapolis, Indiana concert took place at the Clowe’s Memorial Hall at Butler University last night, August 31, 2010.
As you will hear in one of the video’s, Adam announces that he was actually BORN in Indianapolis!! Did you all know that already???
He is, once again, his beautiful, extraordinary self… check it out…

He also seems to be dancing like there is no tomorrow!! I won’t tell you where, but there are some ridiculous dance moves in some of these vid’s. Now, GO FIND THEM…

We’re all excited to follow Adam on his Glam Nation Tour and check out the concert videos. I start my day by visiting Sue’s great tour articles to watch all the performances, imagining that I’ve been at each and every show. But let’s not get too carried away with the tour and forget we can make a real impact on TV/Radio by voting on VH1’s Top Twenty. Adam’s joyously playful video, If I Had You has slipped to the number 6 spot. I’ve only heard it once on my San Diego stations! We need to hear it so much we’re tired of it, if possible.
Click here to vote! You don’t even have to vote on the other 19 places, unless you want to. Just “drag and drop” Adam into the #1 box and click Submit. The artists are listed alphabetically by last name, so you have to scroll down a bit. It’s really easy to do it 5 or 10 times, or more. Immediately after voting hit the Rank ‘Em Again tab and vote again and again. Do you have 5 minutes everyday so you can help? Whattaya say Glambs? Can we do it?? Will you commit 5 minutes a day to Adam and If I Had You? If you go to the site, you’ll see that a certain American Idol Winner is also up for a vote. You can throw him some votes too, but only in the #2 or lower boxes!! Please don’t hate me - I’m ALL for Adam!!
The results come out on Saturday morning. It may be too late for us to really effect tomorrow’s standing, but we can certainly change next week’s, and the next and the next and the next!

Adam Lambert is a bonafide member of pop culture and I can prove it! I was watching the Comedy Central roast of David Hasselhoff on Sunday, and comedian Greg Giraldo included mention of Adam in his bit. This is another example of how Adam’s fully staked his spot on the minds of the public and the industry.
I’m including the video for you to see yourself, but I’m warning you, these comedy bits are full of filthy words and thoughts. There is nothing negative said about Adam. In fact, it’s a total compliment to mention him! The standard practice of the roast is for each comedian or personality to get up and completely rip on not only the guest of honor, but on each and every member of the dais. And they don’t hold anything back. Sure, most of the really filthy words are bleeped, but you’ll still get the intent. If you can’t take it, then don’t click on the video. I don’t want to read one comment below criticizing me for posting this. It’s up to you whether you want to watch. We feel it’s our responsibility to bring you every new bit on Adam that we can!
So, if you’re inclined to watch (and remember, I don’t want to hear any complaints!!), he mentions Adam at 4:15 when he talks about David Hasselhoff.
I hope you laugh your buns off! I did!!

P.S. I know I haven’t been around much lately. Big thanks to Sue for always being there and working hard for Adam and this site. Ever since seeing Adam in Costa Mesa, I’ve been traveling to see him in other places (Las Vegas) as well as following a few other bands and seeing their great shows. I love finding new bands and supporting them too! Plus, I’ve gone back to school for an additional degree and school has started. I still plan on bringing you all the news I can find on Adam!
Mention of Adam at 4:15
- Hey everyone is Fernando (dreamsound), we are having a great time with all the Adam-lambert.org fans at the concert in San Diego #
- San Diego concert is kicking butt!! Hanging out with the Adam-lambert.org fans!!! #
Want to get this up quickly! . . . Last night, fansite administrator Lila Hayes and I were at the Orange County Fairgrounds box office, trying to sell some extra tickets to that night’s show. What do we hear? OMG - it’s Adam singing Voodoo! They’re doing the soundcheck!! So, I start looking towards the entrance gates, and what do I see? Not much, but if there’s a seam to peek through, I’ll find it. I find a gate that’s open about 4 inches, so I walk through it into the interior courtyard, but still outside the outdoor arena. I go back to the door and call Lila in. We just started walking toward the entry ramps, and Lila is fearful we’ll get caught. What’s the worse that can happen? They’ll call us back? So we walk into the upper of the amphitheatre, and there’s no one there. No one, but the complete band doing the soundcheck on stage!! Being complete gutfull (new word that Lila has created to describe me!) I start walking down, down, down until we’re at the entry for the 1st 3 rows. There are 2 other people sitting in the 5th row listening. We smile at them, and move into the 3rd row. And there we had it. A private concert for about 35 minutes. We would have stayed longer, but we were putting on the Glamb dinner at Mimi’s Cafe, and Lila felt we really should be there early, to greet early arrivers. But no!!! How can we leave - this is too good!! I was hoping our friends and readers would forgive us for this incredible excuse! We stayed later than we wanted, but still made it to the dinner at the exact starting time. During the whole time we were there, no one gave us any attention. We couldn’t believe no one was asking us to leave. The band didn’t even take a second away from what they were doing to ask us to leave. I was kind of worried that they’d mind us sneaking into their private work time, but we had to figure that if they didn’t want us there, they would have had someone ask us to leave.
Now it was Lila’s turn to be brave. About halfway in, she managed to turn on her flip camera and video (or at least audio) what we were hearing. She didn’t want to be obvious so she hid it just at her waist level, pointing the camera up. Hence the great shots of the lighting! Every great once in a while, you see someone. But the sound is amazing!
**JUST ADDED!!! WE FOUND THE ONE SECOND THAT THE CAMERA CAUGHT MONTE AND ADAM ON STAGE!!**
It was such a complete education to hear what the band goes through to make the sound as perfect for the audience as they can. And listen to Adam trying “something with the rhythm of it” on Whole Lotta Love. The improvisation on the lyrics were EPIC. To be honest, I’m a little afraid that he may not have wanted it publicly known that he “wants to get laid!” After all, Lila’s videos from 12 hours ago have already beaten me to the internet! We’re seeing them on all the Adam reporting sites and twitter is already full of these clips. But Glambs, we want you to know that it came from US! And we give it to YOU!
I’m going to try for the soundcheck today, but maybe I’ll face security!?!?
Enjoy!!

Adam Lambert’s dad, Eber Lambert has a brilliant mind for comedy and telling it like it is. There’s no doubt where the brothers get their sense of humor from. If you follow him on Twitter, you’ll be rolling from many of his tweets (and educated by the rest). Just catch the latest, obviously speaking to the Kansas City protesters last week.

Check this hilarious comment about Neil’s two-dimensional presence at a Denver signing. Did you all know that Neil is working as a production assistant (read gofer!) on Adam’s tour this summer? What a great brother to employ him. Now, where do the rest of us get in line?

Just doing our best to give you some alternative pieces of Adam-tainment! Hope you enjoy!!

It’s Carol - filling in for Maestro Sue on the Glam Nation Tour posts while she’s on vacation! I didn’t have any Glamb spy reporters at the show, so I’m posting a review published in the Kansas City Star written by Timothy Finn. And of course the videos. These aren’t the best for sound or completeness, but until I find better they’ll have to do. I think his version of Whole Lotta Love was epic! I have to highlight the first video. It’s an absolutely adorable quick audience sing-along, led by Adam on If I Had You. And no posting about the Kansas City, MO appearance would be complete without SOME mention of the horrible display of how low human (were they even human?) behavior can sink. Don’t kill me folks, we are trying to be a news site here, not just a fan site. But I’m only going to include space for the brilliant answer! Of course we loved Adam’s tweet: *sigh* God doesn’t Hate.
~ Enjoy! ~

Review | Adam Lambert at the Midland
By TIMOTHY FINN
The Kansas City Star
When its eulogy is writ, “American Idol” will be remembered most for a very few things: Simon Cowell; the pseudo-freaks who signed up for auditions; and a few of its champions and runners-up.
Thursday night, one of “Idols” most memorable contestants, 2009 runner-up Adam Lambert, sold out the Midland theater, a feat rarely accomplished these days, unless you’re Leonard Cohen or apart of one of Johnny Dare’s hard-rock bonanzas.
To give you an idea of how inaccurate the “Idol” barometer is when it comes to predicting success, Lambert lost to Kris Allen, who earlier this year was one of the opening acts for the Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows. Lambert spins in an orbit unlike any other “Idol” winner or runner-up. Instead of third-generation grunge or watered-down R&B/soul/pop, he deals primarily in a mix of dance-pop and -rock — the kind favored by disco divas — and gives it all a light coating of goth.
It has helped him build a battalion of fans ages 12 to 60, which was the makeup of Thursday’s crowd.
His tour is called “The Glam Nation Tour”; his diehard fans call themselves Glamberts; and his show is loaded with lots of cabaret, choreography and gender-bending costumes — a mix of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Culture Club and Cher.
He took the Midland stage in one of those costumes, an ensemble of fur, fringe, leather, rhinestones and a black top hat, singing the song “VooDoo.” He would deliver 75 minutes of dance and music — some of it big and loud with heavy beats, some of it soft and acoustic. It included covers of Johnny Cash (”Ring of Fire”) and Led Zeppelin (”Whole Lotta Love”), proving that nerve and audacity are not two of his deficiencies.
Lambert separated himself from his “Idol” pack with his sense of campiness and his voice, which is big and beefy enough to take on Robert Plant or one of his own big-beat dance songs, like “Sure Fire Winners” or “Music Again.” It’s also agile enough to handle a guitar or piano ballad, like “Sleepwalker” or “Soaked.”
The set list comprised more than a dozen songs, most from his “For Your Entertainment” album, now approaching 700,000 in sales in the U.S. (more than double Allen’s debut). But the sights, including a laser show, and the dancing were as much an attraction as the songs.
It was all appreciated by the crowd of more than 2,500, some of whom had gathered outside the theater before lunch to assure a good spot on the floor.
Many wore tributes to him, like jewelry bearing his visage or an extra-heavy application of mascara. Even though the sound could have been a bit cleaner, most devoured it with the kind of intense enthusiasm and devotion that another “Idol” contestant generated — Clay Aiken.
He has learned that longevity is a tricky and elusive pursuit. Lambert, too, may learn the same thing, but for now he looks like a guy who lost a battle but is winning the long-term war.
Allison Iraheta: She, too, was a 2009 “Idol” runner-up and during her brief opening set, she showed off what got her there: a voice big enough to handle Pat Benatar (”Heartbreaker”) and a few of her own hard-pop songs, which evoke the sound and styles of Pink and Joan Jett.

What would a day be like if we had no news about Adam? Thank goodness that day hasn’t happened yet! Today, we’re filling you in on the top 10 things that Adam’s gotta have on tour. I have my own list of things that I can’t go to one of his shows without and I’ll add those at the end. If you have something I forgot, please add it in your comments!
Adam’s Top Ten Things To Bring On Tour
1. My iphone! I can’t leave home without my phone to keep in contact with my friends and family. It also holds all of my music!
2. My computer of course. This is where I get to keep my creative juices flowing and I get to note a lot of my ideas. This is also where I get to keep in touch with my fans! Do you think he reads our website?!
3. A flip cam. This allows me to capture moments behind the scenes to share with my fans!
4. A good book. With so much traveling and time on a bus, it is great to have a good read with me.
5. Nail Polish! Gotta keep my nails neat!
6. Journal. Here I can write lyrics for any ideas of songs that I have as well as take notes on all of these amazing experiences that I am getting to participate in.
7. A hat! When I don’t want to do my hair, my hat always comes in handy. We’ll be watching, Adam!
8. Sharpies! Gotta have lots of these so I can sign autographs for fans! Thank you so much for this Adam! The last time I got an autograph from another artist, I had to dig through my purse for a pen!
9. Liquid Chlorophyll. Greens are so vital to good health. I just checked this out. It sounds like a great supplement. I bet sales go through the roof now!
10. My jewelry. I can’t leave home without my accessories.
Carol’s List of Things Needed for an Adam Lambert Concert!
1. A great outfit. It doesn’t have to look like I’m trying to be him - I’ve gotten over that. But one that makes me feel great!
2. Rest. If I’m spending the whole day waiting in line for a GA concert this is a must!
3. If it’s a GA concert, paper and pen to make a list of people waiting in line and markers to write the number on the back of their hands. This is just in case it wasn’t started before I arrive.
4. Wet ‘N Wild Gliltter Gel. Gotta spread the sparklies all over! Thanks to Janet for turning me on to this one!
5. A fully charged cell phone and camera, for those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
6. My best friend Lila. No Adam event is the same without her! And I certainly can’t forget Ellen, Glenda, Janet and site-author Sue too!
What are your “must haves?”
~ Carol Glamb #7 ~

If you haven’t already heard, Adam has a new tattoo! It’s a lazy “8″ lying on its side — the standard symbol for infinity. I suppose you could also say it stands for eternity.
But what does it mean, lying there directly above/below his eye of Horus tattoo? If you look at the eye straight on, the infinity tat looks like it’s below the eye of Horus. So even though the new tattoo is above the older one as your eyes would travel up Adam’s arm (and whose eyes wouldn’t?), I’d say the new infinity tattoo — the lazy 8 — is officially below the eye of horus.
So what does that mean, if anything? Why not put the infinity symbol on the other wrist? My guess is that the two together have significant meaning for Adam.
The eye of horus is an Egyptian symbol associated with Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris. In a divine battle, Horus’ left eye (which was the moon) was plucked out. (Horus’ right eye was the sun.) When the eye was healed and restored to Horus, he found out it had great powers to heal and protect. Since then, the eye of horus has symbolized healing and protection.
The downward spiral under the eye is similar to the eye markings on a hawk; Horus’ head was that of a falcon. Green and blue are often used in amulets of the eye of Horus, as it is in Adam’s eye of Horus tattoo. Those colors symbolized growth and regeneration to ancient Egyptians. Horus himself came to symbolize light and good, while the eye itself stood for the struggle between light and dark, good and evil. That’s all nice, but for me the eye of Horus will forever be associated with Adam, his music, and the light he has brought into my own life.
The infinity sign needs little or no explanation. Anyone who has had any algebra might recognize this mathematical sign. It means forever, infinite, ever-lasting, eternal, having no end. (Kind of like my love for Adam!)
So put them together and you have healing and protection forever, until the end of time. Even if Adam didn’t mean it this way, that is certainly my wish for him, his music, and all those around him. May they all be blessed and protected — forever.
***Disclaimer – I’m not advocating trying to get out of jury duty. We have a much-envied and highly sought-after justice system, and I’m proud to serve. But dang it, it just worked out this way!!***
While we’re in the debut week of Adam Lambert’s awesome Glam Nation Tour, I thought it would be kind of amusing to throw this out there. All of this is true, I promise!
My first week of jury duty was in February: the week that was ending with Adam’s Fantasy Springs concert. Of course I was going to the concert! My jury duty number was 118, so I knew I’d get called in to report towards the end of the week. When I called in on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I wasn’t needed. My number would be the next called, to report on Friday. But Sue (yes, our other incredible author on the web site) was flying out to San Diego Friday, and my BFF Lila (our web site administrator) was picking her up and the three of us were supposed to head to the desert (3 hour drive) for the first of our many weekends-to-come of Glam God Greatness. So I went to jury duty that morning and rescheduled. I had to pick a week at random, so I chose the week of April 12. This would be experience #1.
So here I am the week of April 12 with 108 as my group number now. But OMG, Adam is appearing on American Idol that week as mentor and Wednesday was the performance show and Lila and I had tickets! So wouldn’t you know it, Tuesday when I called in, they said I was to report the next day. I can’t believe I did this, but instead of going to jury duty, I went up to LA with Lila, having to leave San Diego well before 8 AM to get in line early. I called the jury commissioner from line and rescheduled . . . again! This time, I chose the week of June 7. Now we have me getting out of jury duty because of Adam for a second time.
Now it’s June 7. Sorry, you need a little back story here. In between scheduling jury duty and now, I’ve also decided that I’m flying to Milwaukee on June 14 to join Sue and Ellen on their AdamTourTrek, attending both Milwaukee and Hammond’s shows next week. Sue knows Ellen through their hometown Glamb group in the Chicago area and I got to know and love Ellen at Fantasy Springs.
Back to June 7, the beginning of my week of jury duty. I was in Las Vegas last week helping my sister move in. While I was driving back from Vegas last Friday, I remembered that I needed to start calling in for jury duty that weekend. So I’m on the phone Monday morning around 10 AM, I open the kitchen cabinet to look at my calendar posted on the inside of the cabinet door, and OH CRAP!!! I was supposed to have called in that weekend for jury duty. They got smart and assigned me Group 101 this time. Of course I’d be called in for Monday. OMG – what am I going to do?? It may not sound like it, but I’ve always been a goody-goody. Oh, what has Adam done to me? Are the Jury Police going to show up at my door?!? For the heck of it, I called the recording just to see how many groups they took. Oh man, I’m saved!! They didn’t call in ANY groups!! I can’t believe my luck. I call Monday after 5 PM for Tuesday, and again they didn’t call any groups in! But my luck ran out and I had to report on Wednesday. So Wednesday morning comes and I report in at 7:45 AM. They welcome the roomful of sleepy, grumpy, patriotic citizens and tell us most cases are from 1-3 days and if we have any conflicts and can’t commit to serving for that amount of time then we need to go up to the desk and reschedule. Now, I have been called to jury duty three times before, and never have I been put on a jury. I just spent the day there waiting and wasn’t needed, so I was excused for one year. They tell us they’re only choosing jurors for 2 trials. They’ll be needing 24 people, plus a few more for alternates, right? There were at least 100 people there. What were my chances? First trial – they don’t call my name. Phew! One down, one to go. I power my iPod up and start listening to Adam. Mmmm, sounds great. Can’t wait for next week when I get to see him LIVE! Here they go, calling names for trial #2. I put Adam on pause and cross my fingers. Wouldn’t you know it they call my name!!! Oh poop – or something like that!
We go into the courtroom, meet the judge, attorneys and defendant. Then they start asking all the potential jurors (36 of us) questions. It takes forever. It seems EVERYONE in the room that day has prior experience with, or knows someone who is a policeman, customs agent, trial attorney, etc. Some are ER nurses who have to work with victims of drug abuse. Our case is involving a man on probation that was caught with a gun, ammunition, and controlled substances. It is taking forever to listen to my co-jurors name everyone in their contact book, then answer the question of whether this information will bias them. And of course everyone says “no!” They say this trial should probably conclude next Wednesday. OH CRAPPP!!!! I’m flying to Milwaukee to start my Summer of Adam on MONDAY!!!!
On our first break, I go back to the waiting room and tell the desk lady “I’m so sorry; I completely forgot that I’m flying out of town next Monday. I can’t be put on a jury.” She looks at me with that “you’re telling me this NOW?” expression. She admonishes me like a school child stating “you should have told me this earlier this morning.” I look down and say “I know. I’m so sorry.” She instructs me to go back upstairs and tell the judge. We were still on break and they call out my juror number. I go in the courtroom and it’s everyone but the jurors inside. The judge already knows I was just downstairs and says something about me not being able to serve. That I need to go back and reschedule. (At least the cute attorney smiled at me.) I go back downstairs and the desk lady asks for my badge and scans it. Then she says, “okay, goodbye.” What I don’t have to reschedule? “No, you’re done.”
So that’s it!! Yay!!! That’s how Adam Lambert got me out of jury duty, three times!! If I get another notice, of course I’ll go in. Unless it’s during Costa Mesa or Las Vegas week!!!

P.S. I know I’ve been gone for a while. Some jerko hacked into my email account, loading me up with viruses and was sending spam after spam, mostly for products to give others a Glam Bulge! My computer was in the shop and I’ve had to de-install and re-install like crazy, and I’ve been out of touch. A huge thanks to Sue for completely taking over and keeping everyone filled in with everything about Adam. Sue, I love you and I can’t wait to see you tomorrow!!
Kerry Kolsch is a strong supporter of Adam Lambert and has published many articles about him. I just discovered this one when I was investigating our Forum, which until now, has gone relatively undiscovered by not only our very active Glamb community, but also by Sue and me, the authors on this web site! I just came across this article that was linked in the Forum, and found it to be really good reading. There are a couple of typos in the linked article – a few forms that should be froms! I love the talk about what Kris had to face on tour, performing after Adam. But don’t worry, the gist is good; it’s not a slam on Kris Allen. While we’re waiting to get blown away from Adam’s Glam Nation Tour, the descriptions here about last summer’s tour bring back such good (and HOT!) memories.
Adam Lambert Has Emerged as the Star of Season 8 of American Idol and Who Won?
About a year ago Adam Lambert and Kris Allen stood on the stage and Ryan Seacrest announced that Kris Allen was the winner of Season 8 of American Idol. An American Idol victory can be a fast track to fame and fortune or it can be a pop culture blip that leads to obscurity. For Kris Allen the title became quite the burden to bear. There are high expectations placed on every American Idol winner but in Allen’s case he had the added weight of being the singer who defeated Adam Lambert in a singing contest.
Allen started his American Idol reign amidst the controversy that was described as Textgate. His home state, Arkansas, produced 38 million of the almost 100 million votes that determined the winner. Many of the votes came from Watch Parties sponsored by AT&T, a corporate sponsor of American Idol. Adam Lambert was chosen to be the water boy to put out this media fire and with dignity and class advised his fans that there was no issue and that they should move on. Little did Adam know that he was misled and Arkansas did change the outcome of Season 8.

Are there things you’ve been anxious to discuss about Adam Lambert that haven’t been related to one of the articles we’ve posted? Do you want to list concert tickets you have for sale, or maybe find tickets for a certain venue? This is the perfect place to do that!
Many times Sue and I have seen discussions start on an article that have nothing to do with the topic. While these discussions sometimes take off and get lots of interest, they sort of hijack the topic, and readers who want to see comments related to the article don’t find them, and check out.
Maybe you didn’t know we have a FORUM section on this Glambsite. We haven’t promoted it before, and for that we’re sorry. There are many topics that were started, but since people didn’t know about the FORUM, never took off. But let’s see it take off now! In the FORUM, you can start your own discussions, join other discussions, or just let everyone know something you feel is important to know about Adam.
Here’s how:
1. Go to the top of this site and click on FORUM. The first box that comes up is Most Recent Topics. Keep scrolling down – bypass this list.
2. You’ll then see some boxes with the headings of Adam Lambert, American Idol, Community, and Announcements & Information. (Fernando created those headings when he originated this site and for right now, those are the ones we have to go by.)
3. Click one of these BLUE headings. Discussions already in progress will appear. You can contribute to one of these.
*** If you were a user of the forums on the American Idol website, you’ll feel right at home now!
4. If you want to start your own discussion, click on any discussion in the main heading you want it to appear in. then click the Add Topic button. I would imagine most things will go under Adam Lambert or Announcements & Information.
5. Name your topic in the title box, type your comments in the text box, and click Post New Topic below the text box.
I just started a topic under Announcements for concert tickets called Adam’s Concerts – Who has extra tickets? Who’s looking for tickets? Let’s use this one heading all summer for Concert Tickets. If everyone who has a different city to post for starts a new topic, the info will be too hard to find and the Forum will get muddied up with multiple ticket listings.
Help your discussion succeed by commenting about it on Twitter and Facebook. Remember to give the Heading/Title so people can find it!
I’m really excited to see this succeed and hope you will enjoy it. We really can do a lot of good with an active FORUM! But please Glambs, let’s keep it clean! We know about all of Adam’s “gifts” and what we’d like to do if we had a moment or three alone with him! But here’s a required warning: If topics are posted that are found to be inappropriate, they will be deleted.
Can’t wait to hear back from you and see your input!

USA Today has come out with the 5 Summer Tours that offer the best value and entertainment, and of course Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour has been included in that mix! I love the way they refer to us, his fans! I’ll post the write-up for Adam, but for the other four, please click here.
Adam Lambert
The dashing and colorful American Idol runner-up headlines his first North American tour.
Setting the stage: Lambert’s Glam Nation tour kicks off June 4 in Wilkes-Barre, PA., with more than 30 concerts to follow. Shows are currently scheduled through Sept. 18 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Why it’s a tour de force: Lambert, a dazzling singer, set the Idol standard for showmanship, and his devoted fan base will turn out in full force. The tour’s support acts — flame-haired fellow Idol finalist Allison Iraheta and Australian guitarist Orianthi — make the package especially promising: Orianthi played on Lambert’s album, and Iraheta’s Slow Ride duet with Lambert was a highlight of their Idol season and the subsequent tour. — Brian Mansfield
Cost: $29-$73.50

Attention Glambs – San Diego’s Radio Sophie 103.7 has a challenge every night, where they ask listeners to vote on 2 new songs not currently in their rotation. The winner comes back nightly until defeated. Last night was the debut of Adam Lambert’s If I Had You, and it won against 6-night champion Bob Schneider’s 40 Dog! I’m sure if the winner stays on long enough, the song will be put into regular rotation.
The challenge is in the 9 PM hour, but you can vote online RIGHT NOW!! I’m not “encouraging” those outside San Diego to participate, but I know you’re free to do whatever you want. We don’t want him disqualified if a massive amount of votes come in that could not be from San Diego listeners, so please everyone vote with caution! Remember what happened with WWFM? Check back every morning to see if he won, and keep voting.
***Right now he’s ahead of Speakers by Days Difference 76% - 24%. Let’s keep him on. He’s already moved up from 73% - 27% in the last 10 minutes!
**UPDATE - He won Friday’s vote 83.5% - 16.5%! Let’s keep him champ for a LONG time! Then IIHY will certainly be played regularly!! Check back Monday, and each day following to cast your vote.
Vote here for Adam!
If you know of similar opportunities elsewhere in the country, please comment below and we’ll make sure it gets posted also.

GlamNation Promo Video - Are you sitting down??
Oh this concert is going to blow everyone out of the water!
I’m just wondering how many of you just went through the hair pulling experience of trying to buy tickets to any one of Adam’s shows that went on pre-sale this morning? I have a new term for this ticket-buying anxiety. I call it “Glamxiety!” By the way, if you haven’t tried to buy tickets yet, VOODOO is the code word for all the shows, and will be active for a day or two more.
I’m sure we all were hitting the “refresh” button on our keyboards this moring at 9:57 AM, making sure we could purchase the best seats the second they went on sale. I was buying the Costa Mesa/July 27 show. At 10:00:01 Ticketmaster was saying the back terrace sections were the best available??? WTF??? After rejecting these I kept trying. Over the next 20 minutes I was able to come up with some better seats, but certainly not front and center I was hoping for. I am really excited knowing that I’ll be seeing Adam on his Glam Nation Tour! I just wanted to be close enough to catch the flying glitter! Rumor has it that the scalper operations have special software that somehow gets into Ticketmaster 1 or 2 minutes early. This would sure explain what happened to everyone I’ve already spoken with, who were also trying like crazy for tickets.
If you have extra seats for any of Adam’s concerts and are willing to post them here, please feel free. This would be a way to make sure the concerts are filled with the Glambs who have become some of your best friends! Please don’t give price info though - just give an email address you feel safe revealing. That way, people who are interested can contact you and the pricing will be a private party issue.
Hopefully more tour dates will be announced and we will all be able to see Adam on his rise to superstar stature. Because once this tour is over, he’ll be there in everyone’s eyes baby eyes!! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist!!)

From fine clocks to cheese and chocolate, Swizterland has a lot to boast about. Well, so does America with our own Adam Lambert! I’m so glad the rest of the world is taking such good care of him and showing him their love and devotion. You’ll see (or at least hear!) from these videos that Adam is truly doing what he was born to do.
Here’s the latest in from Zurich, Switzerland. Sorry for the lack of lighting on these videos. Until I can find better quality, we’ll have to let his magnificent voice serenade us. And really, haven’t we all dreamed about this?!?
He’s really having a good time going back-and-forth with the audience. I would have loved more of this at Fantasy Springs. This looked more like a club, so maybe he slipped back into the Upright Cabaret persona. He starts getting really chatty, which I think shows how relaxed he is on the stage. Either that or he’s enjoyed some “European Libation!!”
I especially love the rockin’ version of Mad World at the end. Best version I’ve ever heard!!
Enjoy!
