Adam sang Pop That Lock on Chinese television show, 80’s Talk Show and did a most charming stage segment afterward. He must have been receiving translation in his earpiece during the interview because he’s very involved in the conversation. This is an extremely candid and hilarious piece! Attention American Idol Honchos – pay attention to the humor and spontaneity that naturally rolls off Adam’s tongue. His personality would be very refreshing and would bring life and viewers back to your show!

Back to China! In response to questions about the photos he takes with fans, he states “I like to get cuddly with my fans . . . cause they wanna touch me, right? And I wanna touch them!” He’s going to have a long line in San Diego who want to hold him to that!

After Adam demonstrates his fondness for touchy-feely, they move on to talking about Adam’s favorite hobby, shopping. Listen to the amount of money Adam would have trouble spending on one item. He’s come a long way from his Hollywood cockroach–infested studio apartment days!

They end by giving him a gift of what looks like the largest piece of potpourri I’ve ever seen. I don’t know if Adam ever knew what it was, but he accepted it most graciously.

Adam also sang the heck out of Mad World on the opening of the 2013 season of American Idol/China. This was an incredibly pure version of his infamous cover.

Something came out of Adam Lambert’s closet, and it wasn’t Adam this time!

Do we need to alert Fashion Police? Not everyone can get away with wearing a Dragon Attack jacket. Jennifer Lopez actually tried to get away with this at Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards. And as we all know, you’ve got to be fierce to pull this one off. Do you think Jenny From the Block was fierce enough?

Immediately, twitter was on fire talking about the blazing red faux pas.

Adam didn’t try to steal any thunder away from Angie. This was her night to be in the spotlight, and being a gentleman (hear that Psy?) and a former Idol finalist, he knew his role was to entertain the 7,000 at the Nokia Theater and the millions watching around the world, but to let Angie shine brighter. Adam showed off eye catching wardrobe style, but Angie’s leather skintight outfit drew everyone’s eye. He sang some amazing signature power notes, but nothing overpowered Angie as she belted out more highs of her own.

Angie gave Adam props, as you see in the picture above, but when her own personal idol, Jessie J came on to sing with her, you could see the excitement she was feeling, down to her core. And after their Domino duet was over and Adam came back on stage, all the attention went to Angie and Jessie J. It was almost like he was a 5th wheel. Did you get that feeling too? Maybe we’re just so used to Adam being the star on center stage, but it was just as it should be. We wish Angie incredible success on her upcoming surprise performance with Jessie J in England, and continued success with her brand new career.

This was a really exciting chance for us to promote Adam’s worldwide success and also to plug his upcoming San Diego concert on July 2nd. Seeing ourselves trying to keep our cool on TV made us realize just how special the successful TV personalities really are! LOL!

There was speculation that Adam Lambert wouldn’t be back on American Idol when he ended his management deal with 19 Entertainment. We now know that’s not the case. On Thursday’s show, Ryan said “Adam will be onstage for a killer surprise duet next week at our finale.” Could this be something more than the already-confirmed duet with 3rd place finalist Angie Miller???? After all, David Bowie’s got a new album out!

My friends, I want to share some great news with you. I’ll be going to Thursday’s show. I won tickets from my local San Diego Fox station! Last Tuesday I was checking my emails on my phone and saw one from our Fox station to enter a contest for tickets to the American Idol Finale. My first thought was “oh, I won’t win.” But then I thought “well, someone has to . . . why can’t it be me?” So I entered, and Thursday afternoon got a call from our Fox 5 telling me I won! I am so excited!! Honestly, I have never stopped watching and loving American Idol. I may not have voted once since Adam was on, but I still love the show. I’m a true Reality TV Junkie!

They asked me who I was rooting for, and I told them I was rooting for Angie Miller, but that all three girls are fantastic (which they are!). I was hoping I could go to the Thursday show of course, and then they made my wishes come true . . . again! She said they had two winners, and since I was the first one, I’d get my choice of which night to go to. Thank goodness I fought my impulse and didn’t let this unrecognized “Private” call go to voice-mail. Maybe the 2nd winner would have wanted Thursday also!

I added that I was so excited to be able to see Angie sing with Adam Lambert. I tried not to gush too much about Adam, because after all, this contest is to promote the CURRENT Idol. But I did manage to add that I was the author on Adam’s fansite, and then THEY got all interested in my story. They’re doing a news story on the two San Diego Idol stars, Adam Lambert and last year’s runner-up, Jessica Sanchez. Their reporter started emailing me for information about what Adam’s doing currently, and yesterday Lila and I went down to the station for a filmed interview. We’ll post it, if it airs and we can capture it. Even if I have to video it from the TV screen. We just hope we didn’t look like two silly fangirls!

So, I’m going and of course Lila is going with me. We’ll let you know any details that didn’t make it on-air! Is anyone else going to the finale? Let us know!

Wow, in the About Carol description following this article, I state that I didn’t know where this trip (with the fansite) is taking me. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years, and the trip is still just as exciting!

This is the full red carpet – 1 hour & 43 minutes. If you advance the timer button at the bottom of the video, Adam and Leila enter the screen at 39:13. You’ll see Adam move on solo and chat with two on the carpet, giving some beautifully animated close-up facial time, until 44:36. This video gives living room fans a more accurate view of what it’s like to attend Red Carpet events. With the red carpet lasting for 1 ¾ hours, you can imagine that a dinner event lasts all day. Taking in the prep time, traveling to the event, arriving, red carpet, entrance with schmoozing, the event and the after-party, Lila and I can tell you personally that it lasts all day. At least our NewNowNext Awards did!! Kind of like lining up all-day for one of his concerts!

May 16: American Idol Finale???

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it has been confirmed that Adam will indeed perform on the finale of American Idol, which has an air date of May 16. Unless he performs more than once, he won’t be performing a solo, but rather in a duet with Top 3 contestant Angie Miller. However, if they stick with the usual format of the finale, Adam and Angie will be singing one of Adam’s songs!
Adam has been a supporter of Angie’s since the early stage of the competition. He sent a tweet on February 27 that simply said, “ANGELA MILLER.”

Who’s going to be at American Idol? Let us know!

June 29: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida – Adam will be performing in the Summer Concert Series. The concert is included with your park ticket or you can purchase a special ticket for admission at 7 PM for the concert.

July 2: San Diego County Fair – Which brings us to the concert so many of us will be at without the humidity of Florida! Adam will be lighting the San Diego skies on fire on July 2 when he headlines the Toyota Summer Concert Series at the San Diego County Fair. A few good seats in the reserved sections are still available as well as the General Admission sections. I’ve been sitting in the unreserved GA section for 15 years and every seat’s a good seat. San Diego has perfect, comfortable summer weather and the fair is the 4th largest in the country. It’s always a good time! A large party for the fans has been planned by our friend, LambertLust. Adam’s concert and this party are the must-be places for July!

I was at the fair grounds this week and couldn’t help stop my car for this. Banners of all the headliners flank the entrance to the parking lot, and Adam’s is the very first one – catching the eyes of everyone driving by! I guess it’s our exclusive!!

Fans Fight Back: SFGN Publisher Blasts Adam Lambert in Editorial, Enraging Fans
After SFGN Publisher Norm Kent wrote an editorial piece “Adam Lambert’s GLAAD Award a Joke” [...]

After SFGN Publisher Norm Kent wrote an editorial piece “Adam Lambert’s GLAAD Award a Joke” where he blasted GLAAD for giving the pop singer an award LGBT advocacy, social media blew up with Lambert fans, known affectionately as Glamberts, attacked SFGN and Kent.

They were especially outraged at these passages from Kent:

“Therefore, seeing him on the cover of our newspaper a few weeks ago made my partner and me puke.”

“Both of us went ballistic that Lambert was on our cover. Other than feature new makeup every day, what has this kid done to warrant a cover story?”

“…and the story that takes down our website is Adam Lambert’s breakup with his boyfriend? This is unreal. How shallow have we become?”

“Give me a break. This award is presented to whoever can fill the seats and make money for GLAAD at its annual fundraising dinner.”

The editorial spawned a rebuttal defending Adam Lambert from Associate Publisher Jason Parsley, and a statement from Editor in Chief Gideon Grudo. Below are snippets from several emails we received in the days following Kent’s piece.

While reporting on April 17th about the great shape Adam’s pal Kelly Osbourne has gotten herself into, E!News revealed hoola hooping was one of her methods. She did a bikini photo shoot for SELF (out April 23rd) and broke out the hoop for a prop, which she credits for helping her maintain her 70-pound weight loss. “She even invites friends like Adam Lambert over, to do it with her on Saturday night.”

Now that’s one workout we’d all like to see!

The publisher of the same South Florida newspaper that gave us the wonderful video interview that we posted with Adam and also broke the story of Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen’s break up, is now throwing dirt on Adam, saying his upcoming media award from GLAAD is a joke. In this attached editorial piece from South Florida Gay News, publisher Norm Kent uses very inflammatory language, all to cast shadow on the legitimacy of Adam being honored so early in his career by GLAAD. He is so disapproving of a young star receiving this, and accuses GLAAD of choosing Adam merely as a way to “fill the seats and make money for GLAAD at its annual fundraising dinner.”

After reading this poorly researched piece on Adam, I now understand more of what I’ve heard about how gays don’t support each other. This outtake talks about how Adam became a national star on American Idol: “As obvious as it was that he was gay, he also remained in the closet during his meteoric rise to stardom while on the TV show.” I know! I know! I can hear you screaming from my computer desk! There’s no way that Adam tried to hide anything on Idol! He was the most stylized male contestant ever to appear on the stage and and even sang Cher’s Believe early in the competition. If that didn’t scream “gay” I don’t know what did! But the final example of irresponsible reporting was the statement that Adam remained in the closet on Idol. We’ve heard a hundred times that contestants weren’t allowed to have any contact with outside media. What was he supposed to do? Put an “I’m gay” sign on his back, right above his cat o’ 9 tails during Ring of Fire?!?! The moment he came off Idol, he was right on the cover of Rolling Stone, singing his “outness” to the world.

Kent seems just as upset that after the article was published about Adam and Sauli’s break-up, their servers crashed. “Because after Parsley’s story on Lambert’s boy breakup went online at SFGN.com, it was picked up first by Lambert’s groupies and within hours a slew of entertainment and gossip sites had picked up the story and linked back to us. Our servers could not handle the traffic.” Oh, heaven forbid. This publication has received more hits and traffic than ever before. The shame. More like your welcome, for now you know how badly you needed an upgrade!

After the scathing editorial on Adam appeared, the South Florida Gay News tweeted:

In this all-in-one video, we see Adam’s red carpet interview, the award announcement and best of all, his live performance! He sings both the family-friendly version of Trespassing and Naked Love for the crowd. This show was quite different from what we saw a few days earlier on the Miami stage. This time he had musicians but no dancers. Adam was also dressed a bit more subdued. Just your basic black glam-styled fabric and leather blazer with a long shiny tank, styled black and white print pants and knee-high black boots. Nothing special. Yeah right! Gorgeous as ever!
