Not sure if you remember way back to the Glamnation tour of 2010 (ha-ha) but if so you might also recall that some brave souls (Carol and I) found their way into a sound check in July where Adam sung “I need to get laid” when he was practicing “Whole Lotta Love.”

Well, right after it was posted YouTube pulled it claiming someone said it was copywritten material. It was online long enough for other people to grab it and make it available in many other places. In fact, I just realized that someone re-posted it on YouTube and it’s been there since since October of 2010. Since it seems to be okay to post it now, we decided to re-post the video along with two other songs from the same sound check.

There is an Irresistible Compulsion to Brag About Witnessing History in the Making

In years to come many will boast about having attended one or as many as they possibly could of Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation concerts. There is an irresistible compulsion to brag about witnessing history in the making. Prophesying Adam Lambert’s fame and success is now out of the realm of fan fiction and into predictable reality. Monday night in London performing to a sold out enthusiastic crowd Adam Lambert ended the European portion his tour.

The reviews are in and the London Times called Adam “as flamboyantly fabulous a performer as Freddie Mercury” and noticed that when Lambert took the stage “it was impossible to tear your eyes off him”. The Guardian described the performance as ” drama mixed with soul-saturated vocals”. Except for the final hometown show dates in LA at the Music Box on December 15 and at the Nokia on December 16 the Glam Nation Tour has concluded.

Lambert’s first headlining tour gave us an inkling of the kind of artist he is and what he will become. Anyone who saw Lambert’s live performance realizes he will be an iconic transformative entertainer. Lambert is more than an enormously talented singer he is an artistic creator who embraces the transcendental qualities of sound to amalgamate emotion with the rhythmical cyclic values of the music, thus transforming the theater into an other worldly journey narrated by a hypnotizing storyteller.

Using sound and image Lambert burrowed into the realm of his experiences from classical training to his Zodiac performances focusing on the inevitable rituality of the performative act. Unconcerned with the façade of dramaturgy Lambert prefers to embrace the lucidity of his truth. It is with his purity and innocence juxtaposed with his raw sexuality that Lambert explores the junction between the audience and performer. It is from that seeming contradiction that Lambert derives his authenticity. Lambert is simultaneously both innocent and seductive. Adam Lambert is the work of art and the performer of art as all icons have been.

There is not much that needs to be said with this version of Purple Haze and Whole Lotta Love from Amsterdam. We all know it. Adam Lambert is a TRUE ROCK GOD! He is already our artist of the decade. He joins a very select group of rock icons, among them: Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Michael Jackson. Artists who HAD to do it their way. EVERYONE knows who they are. And with performances like this, everyone will know who Adam Lambert is. We can only hope he will bring this Adam home to the USA and give it to us onstage next month in Los Angeles. I’m out of breath from watching this. I can literally feel my heart pounding in my chest!

By hunting around the internet, I just came across this interview (here) with Glam Band members Tommy Joe Ratliff and Isaac Carpenter. It was conducted in Stockholm on November 9th, either before or after the Debaser Metis show. Interviewers Emelie, Amelie and Marie were so lucky to score this. I need to get their secret!

I love hearing how thrilled these young men are to be playing with Adam. These two musicians have been around for a while with various bands, and even though it’s Adam’s first tour as a solo singer, they credit him with so much natural instinct and trust him completely.

I haven’t met Isaac yet(!), but from my time spent talking with Tommy Joe, I can totally hear him saying these quotes. He has so much like, love and respect for Adam.

How are you enjoying the tour so far?

Tommy Joe: It’s been amazing, it’s been surreal I’ve always wanted to do something like this. I’ve never actually been on a real tour like, you know what I mean, just like kinda slumming it in a van and this is actually like my first big deal so it’s been a lot of fun.
Isaac: Amazing, it’s amazing it’s a really fun group of people and really fun, fun challenging show to play every night and to play drums behind Adam, I’ve never really, it’s pretty amazing to play behind a voice like that.
TJ: Yeah you get kind of spoiled you don’t ever wanna be in a different band with a different singer
I: Yeah, every band I’ve played with has it’s strengths but playing behind Adam’s voice is just super. Extraordinary.

Is that the biggest difference?

I: No, many things kind of differs from what I’ve ever done. It’s really, before I played with them and I went and saw this show I just really liked kinda how dramatic and almost like theatrical it is. It’s kind of like a play or something it’s kinda like a set story that gets told every night and that’s kind of different it’s kind of like there’s a lot of emotion in it but it’s kinda rigid schedule in show you know

When did you decide to go for music, to start focusing on music? At what age and why?

TJ: I was twelve. Well, I’ve always been really into music ever in like my first and second grade I was like Depeche Mode is my favorite group and then I was into like Midnight Oil, remember that band? I loved them, I loved all these tons of bands Metallica. I grew up listening to that, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and everything. And then when I was twelve I used to see my uncle playing guitar and it made me wanna play. And then I just kinda picked up like a cheap 20 dollars guitar was all I could afford one so I had to like wait and you know and yeah it was pretty bad. And then I ended up just like learning Nirvana songs and Jimi Hendrix songs and everything and I started going from there.

So you’re self taught?

TJ: Mhm, I’ve never taken a lesson I’d actually like to now
I: And this is his first band he plays bass in you guys know all about that.
TJ: Yeah, so I’m actually becoming a bass player now it’s cool.

How about you Isaac?

I: Similar story. I really loved music from a young age. I was buying vinyl at like age five or age four and like when I was like eleven. I actually wanted to play music when I was seven but it was just too hard. I tried to learn some Guns and Roses songs and it was too hard but it really took on when I was eleven and actually I started out as a guitar player too and then I moved to drums later. I never had any lessons either I was just lucky enough, my dad is a musician and my brother is a drummer so I was just lucky enough to start out learning by playing with other people.

What instruments do you play?
I: I’m an okay guitar player which makes me an okay bass player and I mainly play drums and percussion.
TJ: I just play guitar and bass.
I: You can play drums too!
TJ: A little bit kinda, I can keep the beat. If I had a drum-set I could get kinda good but I really. I’d love to play the drums, I’m always beating on things.

But no singing?
TJ: Not at all
I: I sang background vocals in a bunch of bands that I’ve played for and I don’t do it very well. I can do a background vocal like in albums and stuff if it’s in just the right range I’m an okay background vocalist.

Do you have any more say in the creative process with Adam than with previous bands?

TJ: We kinda, we like you know, we got hired after the album was done and everything so we never got to put our own twist on the album. And usually if he doesn’t like something he’s like let’s do it this way and it just happens but you know we put our own edge to it and I mean the album obviously sounds a lot different from the live shows and just kinda like, the albums great but we kinda add our own things to it.
I: Yeah, he doesn’t micromanage what so ever. But it seems like we all really trust his instincts. So he kinda leads just by, just by being confident, but he definitely doesn’t micromanage.
TJ:And he definitely has a vision what he wants and gets his point across when your in a soundcheck and stuff like that if he wants something in a certain way he knows.
I: And things slowly. I’ve only been playing in the band for two months or what ever but things slowly take on a life of their own without anybody telling anybody what to do you know.

Sounds great!
I: Yeah.
TJ: Oh yeah! I couldn’t even imagine playing with other people now like that would just be weird.

This show was back to business as usual for the Glam Nation!! YAYAYAY!
New Zealand loved on our man, and the absolute favorite part of the show for me???? Watching Adam sing METALLICA, YESSSS! For the encore at this show, Adam and the band surprised Tommy for his birthday, and sang his favorite song, Enter Sandman by Metallica. The best was that Adam admits to not knowing the words, and he admits to having a cheat sheet down on the stage with him!! What a great experience for Adam’s fans in Malaysia. Regardless of the rules that had been set, Adam was still his beautiful, glittery self. He put on a show that sent those fans into a frenzy!! To me, Aftermath is always my favorite, but I have to say that Soaked was extremely beautiful. Adam Lambert has agreed to tone down the Glam Nation concert, headed to Malaysia on Thursday. There have been calls by the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) to cancel the show, because they feel he is promoting gay culture in a mainly Muslim country.

Adam has responded with tweets a few hours ago:

While I don’t believe that my glamnation tour is in any way offensive I have agreed to make a few minor adjustments out of respect for the Malaysian government. Looking forward to a fun show.

Does my show “promote the gay lifestyle”? It promotes living ANY lifestyle that includes the freedom to seek love and intimacy. Gay, straight, bi, young or old. It’s all inclusive.

plus, what’s THE gay lifestyle? There isnt just one. There are so many different kinds of gay people. We have a variety of different lifestyles. There’s not only one lifestyle lived by straight folks. Generalizing….

Out of respect, I won’t go on about how another country should not be the way they are. We have to respect international differences. I just know where I won’t be going on vacation! I do feel sorry for the fans. They’re missing one hell of a show!

Here is a double dip of Adam and the Glam Nation tour!!
On October 3rd, 2010, they played The Bottom Line in Nagoya, Japan. This venue holds 750 people, all of whom were in attendance as it was SOLD OUT!
The second night, October 4th, 2010, they played in Osaka, Japan, at the Namba Hutch. Now this venue was even larger, as it holds 1500 people. Yep, you got it, SOLD OUT AGAIN!!
I hope having them all in one place isn’t too confusing. I put both versions of each song together. The first video is from the first night, and it is followed by the second night’s performance unless, of course, he only performed it once. I loved watching them and it is so cute to hear the audience sing along!!!

Adam Lambert and crew have already started on their World Domination, and brother Neil, who is a Production Assistant on the Tour, is thankfully taking to the digital airwaves to give us some more hilarity. That is, if you can laugh at the tragedy that he’s able to make light of! Seems that their hotel is right in the middle of a racetrack, and the noise is deafening! I don’t even want to think of how it may have effected Adam’s and the bands’ performance. Catch the video and check out pictures from the concert!!

On September 21, 2010, the end of the Glam Nation Tour arrived at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center in Puyallup, Washington.
Now, we can all agree that although this is a sad ending to a fabulous summer, it is also just a mere chapter in this Glam Nation scrapbook. Adam took over these United States of America, and we ALL were able to be a part of that, whether you were at a concert or just watching videos at home!!
Now, he is about to take over the world!! I cannot wait to see what adventures he will be taking us on. I hope you all enjoy the videos from last night…

This just came in from Adam’s MySpace page and AdamOfficial. I wanted to get it out immediately. I understand the term ‘bittersweet’ only too well. That’s the way I feel about his US tour ending, and him being so far away from us for a while. I can only hope that the international fans are just as great as the US fans about posting concert UTubes! Wonder if they’ll have people following him from country to country?

The US Leg of my Glam Nation Tour is coming to a bittersweet end. Its been a fantastic summer sharing my music and vision with my passionate fans! I was so thrilled that the tour was sold out in nearly every one of the 72 venues we played. The next chapter of the tour are the International dates. Earlier this year I was lucky enough to visit many of the cities we are planning to perform in while promoting my album. I’m excited to return and to also visit many new countries (and looking forward to some days off here and there!)

When I was recording my album it was very important to me to give it an International sound - something that would have a broad, universal appeal. The album has since become quite successful around the world! (The singles charting even higher in some countries than the US!) I am very anxious to meet and perform for audiences abroad who have supported me as an artist and further experience their cultures! I’m particularly curious about both Paris and Milan as I have never been to either city and have always dreamed of exploring these two legendary locales!

Adam Lambert has so much to be proud of, as he’s coming to the close of the American leg of his Glam Nation Tour. He and his band have entertained and thrilled thousands of us over and over again. We’ve all heard, and now accepted it as commonplace, that fans went to these shows as many times as they possibly could. (I was at 5 Glam Nation shows – how many of his shows were you all at?) I never heard of fans doing this with other bands. Well, okay, maybe the Grateful Dead. Wonder if Leila and Eber were repeat attendees?

Adam has become the Superstar that we all knew he’d be when we watched him week after week on American Idol. He has shown himself to be a wildly entertaining singer, with the perfect voice that never gave a bad performance. His showmanship and performance value made us want to wait for hours and hours, spending as much as we did for the chance to get up close to see the glitter.

And now his Tour has been voted the Best Concert Tour of 2010. FAXO sponsored this contest, asking voters to register which tour they loved the best. Here’s how Adam won, and what his competitors scored:

1. Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour – 8,646 votes
2. Justin Bieber’s My World Tour – 6,984 votes
3. Jonas Brothers – World Tour – 3,697 votes
4. Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour – 1,328 votes.

We can only wait to see how he takes on the world. But really, is there any doubt?

Many of you may have heard about Adam’s “day off” yesterday, but if you haven’t, let me enlighten you. Keep in mind, I was not there, so I am only repeating things that I have heard from others.

Adam and the gang were hanging out at the beach in Miami yesterday when the paparazzi stepped in to ruin the day. Apparently they had been watching Adam and the gang for over an hour when Adam asked them to leave. This specific photographer would not comply, duh… he’s paparazzi, and a fight ensued. Afterwards, Adam tweeted out the following messages to his fans…
@adamlambert~Eeew paparazzi killed my peaceful afternoon on the beach! #howisthisok?

@adamlambert~They’re real good at provoking, but there ain’t any pics or video of the b.s. they spew out… Haha well… I lost my temper for a sec but wow it felt great lol MIAMI!!!

@adamlambert~Hahha the photos are hilarious !! Lol please everyone forgive me for that hat. - I was attempting a disguise- clearly failed. Hahah

I personally refuse to put ANY of the pictures from this so-called “photographer” in this post. By using the photos he has taken, it only drives up the demand for more of these types of pictures. Adam has enough craziness in his life right now, and I don’t feel the need to add to it.

Unfortunately for Adam, the paparazzi went straight to the police station to file charges. I guess we will have to wait and see what comes from this, so much for a day off.

Part two of the Atlanta Glam Nation experience took place at The Tabernacle on September 15, 2010. This night belonged to Longineu Parson’s, Adam’s drummer, as it was his LAST night with the band. He is going back to his previous band, Yellowcard, and what a send off he got!! His solo in IIHY was absolutely amazing, and Adam was dancing all over the place… you must watch that entire video. The encore was spectacular as well, because the Adam and the whole gang came out in dreadlocks!!! That video is another MUST SEE!!! Obviously, the whole night was spectacular…

R.O.C.K.F.O.R.D. Il. Now this was a new experience for me, as I had never been to the “On The Waterfront” Festival before. It was pretty cool, I must say.
Unfortunately for those of you watching these videos, the sound was so loud that it comes across as distorted. Adam kept giving hand signals etc. to the soundboard but unfortunately for you guys, the vids don’t sound as great as he did in real life!!
It was also a little chilly by the end of the night, but thanks to Adam we were dancing up a storm and keeping warm!!! You can see Adam’s breath when he is watching Tommy Joe’s solo during If I Had You!!

Night two of the spinning circus show from the Glam Nation Tour Concert at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset, Massachusetts, August 20, 2010. This show is complete with another awesome entrance, great views that you normally don’t see, and a new hairstyle from none other than Mr. Adam Lambert. Needless to say, he needed to remove that hair to make room for more glitter!! I love it…

**Background Info**
ADAM LAMBERT’s 51st Glam Nation Tour Concert will take place at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset, Massachusetts tonight, August 20, 2010 with both Orianthi and Allison Iraheta as opening acts. The South Shore Music Circus is another round venue with a revolving stage and a reserved seating capacity of 2300.
For …nearly 60 years, the South Shore Music Circus and it’s sister venue, the Cape Cod Melody Tent, have been presenting world-class entertainment in the scenic Massachusetts coastal communities of Cohasset and Hyannis. The only two continuously-operated tent theatres in the round in the United States, the Music Circus and Melody Tent are owned and operated by the South Shore Playhouse Associates, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting the arts, cultural and educational organizations throughout the communities of the South Shore and Cape Cod. With a colorful history dating back to its humble beginning in 1932 in Cohasset, Massachusetts, one interwoven with the fabric of summer theatre history on the east coast, our theatres have emerged as popular destinations for patrons and performers alike, providing a relaxed ambiance and intimate theatre experience where every seat is within 50 feet of the stage.
In 1975, the main theatre bowl was converted from old-fashioned wooden risers to an attractive, modern concrete structure, while staircases and aisle openings were redesigned, greatly improving audience access and sightlines. In 1977, the customary canvas chairs were replaced with more comfortable, permanent stadium seats. But it was in 1994 that the traditional canvas tent was replaced by a state-of-the-art vinyl one with a cupola offering a specifically-designed venting system ensuring a more comfortable entertainment experience for patrons and performers.
Over the years, the sound and lighting equipment have been upgraded to state of the art systems designed specifically for theatres-in-the-round. Seating capacity was expanded from 1,000 to 2,300 seats.

Last night, the Glam Nation tour took a spin on the center stage in Hyannis, Ma. The difference with this venue, the Cape Cod Melody Tent, is that it is “in the round”.
The beginning was completely different then ever before because Adam entered from the side and began singing as he walked up the aisle to the stage, which was very cool!! I really enjoyed being able to see other things so differently too!!
It was awesome to be able to see Cam’s face for once, as she always seems to be in the dark. I loved seeing different angles of Longineu as well. Having the crowd in the picture at all times was amazing, as if we were seeing it through Adam’s eyes. I thoroughly enjoyed it, oh, and he kept it tame tonight too. It was like way back at the beginning, with no kissing and just beautiful singing… I did miss the kissing a little, just saying. I hope you like it as much as I do….
