Adam Lambert Moves Cher to Tears

Adam Lambert honored Cher last night at the Kennedy Center Honors, singing her massive 1992 hit, Believe. His incredible rendition in front of a star-packed audience moved several guests, but none so visibly as Cher, who was shown brushing back tears.

The show closed with Adam and Cyndi Lauper doing their version of the iconic I Got You Babe.

It was another full-circle moment for Adam. Who could forget his braveness when he sang Believe during the early rounds on American Idol?

From kennedy-center.org: This year, the co-creators of Hamilton — writer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, and music director Alex Lacamoire — received a unique Kennedy Center Honors as trailblazing creators of a transformative work that defies category.

Also receiving lifetime achievement honors at the December 2 event were composer Philip Glass, country music star Reba McEntire and jazz icon Wayne Shorter.

Cher and Adam exchanged tweetings this morning, after waking up to find Adam’s performance has gone viral.

Love ya!

  1. Adam’s performance was absolutely beautiful. He is just an amazing performer with a voice like no other. He’s getting great reviews. America is finally realizing what Adam’s fans knew all along, that Adam is one very talented man. He sings with so much emotion that he makes his audience feel his emotion. There is one song he sings with Queen that I love, “The Show Must Go On”. His performance with that song is so powerful! I can’t say enough great things about him. He’s just awesome!

  2. All I can say is WOW !!!! I had heard ADAM sing I Believe in Love but had not heard I Got you Babe. What a great performance. I missed the show on TV so I recorded it on demand. I can’t wait to watch it now !!!!! Thanks for sharing this Carol

He did so well……It was fun to watch. People think this is good…..they should see him do a Queen concert or his own concert. He slays it. I hope his album comes out soon.

I was able to watch the show on my cable tv and WOW it was so much better than watching YT. Adam is the most dynamic, passionate and talented male singer alive. I loved the audience’s reaction to his beautiful voice they looked stunned during the entire performance. It brought me to tears too. Wish more people could see him live doing his own music. He’s the BEST.
