There are lots of media stories about this new tour, but here’s one from Rolling Stones: Q&A: Queen, Adam Lambert Talk New Tour, Pressure and John Deacon
Just five years ago, Adam Lambert auditioned for American Idol by singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We Will Rock You.” In his wildest dreams, he couldn’t have imagined he was kickstarting a series of events that would make him the newest Queen frontman. The trio played together on the show and teamed up again for a small series of overseas gigs last year. Now, they’re launching a full American tour this summer. Rolling Stone sat down with Brian May, Roger Taylor and Lambert to talk about the the tour, future plans and their relationship with former Queen bassist John Deacon.

And his home town paper: Adam Lambert & Queen confirm tour
Are you ready for an Adam Lambert and Queen road trip? The former San Diego singer, who rose to fame on “American Idol” in 2009, will embark on a month-long North American tour with Queen, the fabled English rock band. The tour was announced Wednesday by Lambert on the ABC TV show “Good Morning America.”

Press Release from Queen’s Website: Press Release: Queen + Adam Lambert Announce North American Tour!
New York, NY (March 6, 2014) – Queen + Adam Lambert will reign over a highly anticipated North American summer tour starting at the United Center in Chicago on Thursday, June 19. Brian May, Roger Taylor + Adam Lambert will come together for the first time in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Dallas and more. The 19-date tour wraps Sunday, July 20 in Washington, DC at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, their only outdoor summer concert. The tour is presented by Live Nation.

We can’t wait until summer! Anyone else up for that road trip?

  1. Thanks Lila! Great job including the newspaper articles. It’s so great to have Adam in the headlines! I’m going to run out and get a copy of our San Diego Tribune!

OMG, OMG, OMG…I am the happiest Glambert alive! Adam & Queen in North America…I hope now that this gives Adam more exposure of his Glorious talent. My wish is that it helps to promote radio play for him in North America when his new music comes out. Unfortunately the Radio DJ’s have had their heads in the sand all this time! I had always said if Adam comes to the west coast on tour I would go even if I had to beg, borrow or steal (well probably NOT steal!) They are coming to Vancouver, Canada…my beautiful city & this news is…OVER THE TOP… TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE! YAHOOOOO!!!!
This has made my year. I will be counting the sleeps! So Excited.
I’ve gotta go cause…I now have the primal urge to do the “HAPPY DANCE” all over my house!
I LOVE YOU ADAM LAMBERT! Queen Too!!!
    XO…Always…”ADamICTED” 🙂

  3. Wish San Diego was a planned stop…..hmmm, guess I’ll be doing my best to see Adam & Queen in Vegas, can’t really afford it but somehow, my daughter and myself will be there!! (Where there’s a will, there’s a way) ????

  4. Well again I am out in the cold. Just can’t afford to fly, pay hotel fare and tickets. I don’t think I will ever get to see Adam. Hate to give up on my dream but it is what it is.

  5. My husband got my daughter and me tickets for the Columbia MD show…July 20th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait!!

So sad..can’t see ADAM this time…he is so adorable isn’t he!??!?!? Jackie, don’t give up on your dream. I didn’t think I could see ADAM. I don’t live in a very large city and I don’t drive. I don’t have any ADAM fan friends and yet I got to see him twice! The first time he came here it was for the AI tour. He was at “the arena” and I couldn’t go…can’t drive : ( But after that he returned twice w/ his solo tours and he came to a smaller theater only a few blocks from my home! I walked there. At first I never thought I’d get a ticket before they sold out, but I did. And yes in my heart of hearts I plan to see him again someday..just not this time…so keep your chin up…ADAM would!

I am happy that I got to see him in Hollywood, Fl at the Hard Rock. But since I moved to Tennessee I don’t think that will happen again. All I can do is hope he even comes close.
With QUEEN!!!!!!! OMG what an unforgettable time that would be. It will be amazing!!!
Great post Lila thanks. I watched it on GMA and I was in tears when Brian May made that very very true comment. And to think this was the station(I think) that cancelled his appearance when he did the award show that everyone was so upset about. I could be wrong but the announcer kept saying how they approved of this announcement. What every he does and has done I will always LOVE LOVE LOVE him.

  8. Wow, what great news! Wish they were coming to Atlanta but I might just need a vaca in NY this summer!?!?!
