I think this was something we all saw coming, but didn’t want it to happen. Adam made the announcement today and so did Ticketmaster.
**Edit: There’s quite a discrepancy between Adam’s statement and Ticketmaster’s statement below. Adam says, “Tickets will be refunded . . . within 30 days” and Ticketmaster says “you should expect to receive your refund in as soon as 30 days.” Adam’s statement reads that everyone will HAVE their refund in 30 days and Ticketmaster is saying they won’t START refunding until 30 days has passed, and can take longer to finish all refunds.
I had 2 pairs of tickets for one of these shows, and on May 1 when Ticketmaster started accepting refund requests, I submitted for one pair. In early June, more than 30 days after my request, I called Ticketmaster and the Customer Service agent told me the agents were getting an update around the middle of June as to when refunds would happen. I asked another question and was “disconnected.” I called back about 10 days later (still no refund) and a different C/S agent said they were waiting for the promotion companies to refund the payments back, so Ticketmaster could refund the customers. She saw how long it had been since I submitted my request, and escalated the matter. I received my refund within a week of that call. She also told me they weren’t planning for any shows to be held for the rest of the year.
To be honest, I never felt the October shows would be safe enough to attend. My friends felt the same and submitted their refund requests also. We hate to admit it, but we’re at that age when you have to be more cautious with Covid-19. Time to finally grow up! Our group has seen Adam dozens of times, we’ll see him again in the future, but we just can’t risk our health. Since Ticketmaster was only offering the month of May for refunds, on May 30th I submitted for my other refund. Believe me, it broke my heart giving up my 2nd row seats! That’s why I waited until the end of the month to submit. This Tuesday will be 30 days, but now with this announcement, I’ll be surprised if they don’t restart my 30-day wait.

Yes, it’s the same in Australia, theatres & sporting venues were closed & people had there money refunded….
So sad.
