***UPDATED WITH PHOTOS AND A LINK TO ALL VIDEOS***  The tour bus is headed back to California!  Next stop…Los Angeles on Thursday, July 16th at the renowned Staples Center.  This is obviously a big venue, and I would expect a huge crowd there.

Here is a link to all the Los Angeles videos, courtesy of our own Glamb Fan Leader Serene: http://singaporeglamberts.forumotion.com/all-videos-of-adam-the-ai-tours-f13/adam-lambert-los-angeles-staples-center-16th-july-t158.htm#1298

I have been so excited to read the reviews and see the pics and videos from the concerts that have already taken place!  It seems by many accounts that Adam is indeed stealing the show.  In his concert review of July 12th, reporter Jim Harrington of the Oakland Tribune wrote that in spite of the fact that he finds Adam’s vocal style “more than a tad nauseating,” he admits that Adam is the star of the show, even going so far as to say that the bottom six Idols were pretty weak and that even Kris was anticlimactic and came across as “a blander version of John Mayer, if indeed, that’s even possible.”  I thought that was a little harsh as fan reviews in general have been pretty complimentary to all the Idols, and to be fair to Kris, some fan reviewers have stated a preference to the more down-to-earth style of Kris, stating that they like his set because it seems more real and emotional than the costumed “performances” of Adam and the others.

So what did you guys think of the LA show?  Do you agree with Mr. Harrington?  Did the show as a whole disappoint, saved only by Adam’s performance?  And what about Adam’s set?  Mr. Harrington called the Slow Ride duet with Allison “hokey.”  Do you agree or disagree?  I loved, loved, loved the Adam-Allison duet from the season show and find it hard to believe anyone would think it was hokey!

For those of you lucky enough to attend the LA concert, give us all the details.

We would really love for you to share your concert photos with us!  Please email your photos to tourphotos@glambs.org.

  1. nothing is hokey about adam lambert… he is the star… for he is the real deal.. not afraid to be in character for his songs he performs.. he is an actor, singer, entertainer, artist, you name it, no one can hold a candle on this idol tour… kris won. yes! america voted! but look who gets all the applause and attention.. adam is a showman, a showstopper! i like kris, and i like the rest of the idol gang too! but i absolutely adore this adam kid! no one since elvis has captured my heart the way this kid does.. adam still is growing and learning what his fans like and want.. so far we like his music… hopefully, all will follow adam!

    • asle, when it comes to Adam, ‘hope’ does not feature in our vocabulary. WILL, WILL and definitely WILL! Loved your post, as well as those of fanof & Cee.

  2. fanof1877 says:

I’ll repeat why I’m a fan of Adam Lambert, as posted on the adamunofficial.com web site: I never considered Adam an American Idol contestant. To me, he was AI’s “special entertainment.” He presented his music with a brilliant “show” each time he performed. He never needed to win the competition because he was already a winner. The same is true for his concert performances, only they’re much better! For those of you who prefer Kris’ set over Adam’s just “because it seems more real and emotional than the costumed “performances” of Adam’s” – get with it – a concert IS a show! That’s what music is all about. It’s entertainment, and that’s exactly what Adam is trying to convey to the public – he likes to dress up. His costumes make up a major part of his performances, and his singing is out of this world! I can’t understand why it would be “nauseating” to anyone.

    • Hi fanof1877. I just want to say how right I think you are about Adam on AI. Adam always understood that his real job was to put on a fantastic show for America, and that he did, week after week after week. His showmanship is unparalleled. The contest was secondary at best.

      • fanof1877 says:

Hi Songwriter4adam. Thanks for responding. I think the majority of American Idol viewers tuned in weekly just to watch Adam perform – it’s like it was Adam’s own special television series, and he delivered with flying colors. He is more than just a singer. He’s an entertainer in all sense of the word. It’s like what AI judge Kara said – people couldn’t wait for the next show just to see what Adam would sing, what he would wear, the props he used, etc. He definitely kept people interested. The way he changed appearances with each song he sang was amazing. He changed his looks to fit the songs. I think that was neat. He did explain that he had some influence on how his music was presented, but what I’m wondering is how much influence he had with the group performances. I think the other contestants looked to him as their leader, so It wouldn’t surprise me if he were the one who suggested the songs and choreographed them. I can’t get over how he conducts his interviews. He never hesitates when answering questions – he is very good at choosing his words when expressing himself. I love listening to his interviews just as much as listening to him sing.

  3. I never liked the duet. He, always being a gentleman, holds back whenever he sings with others. It’s only five songs and I’d prefer he sings alone and belt it out. Nothing against Alison, but I found it to be a distraction to bring her out in the middle of his set. His set is too short to share with anyone. It may also be that I’m not too crazy about that song.

    • AdamAdmirer says:

I agree with you Cee. I didn’t see the show live yet, but from the videos, they could have done without Alison doing a duet with him. I think it’s all hype about her, the voice and the whole package never appealed to me. Adam can very much stand alone as we all know – they should have thrown in “Born to be Wild” – that is still my favorite performance of his and I’ve watched it 100xs. I also feel, maybe it’s their way of helping Alison’s record sales, she is basically riding Adam’s coatails. I don’t mean to sound so critical, but Adam does not need to to waste time singing with her.

  4. Oh, there is no doubt to anyone on this site about Adam’s appeal!!! He has it all. Yes, he is an entertainer alrilght!! He could just get into costume and jusst whistle and he would still carry the whole show himself! One thing I don’t know, and maybe someone could tell me; How does Adam do his set? Which song does he start with and which come in 2nd, 3rd …and so on?? Hope someone could let me know!
Hey, Lorrin! I went to bed early last nite! First fell asleep in my lounger w/the vibration on as my back was giving me trouble. Then, decided I better get a heating pad for myself and go to bed! So, I did!! Slept very well and the back is better! Yeah!!! I did, however, put Adam on my CD stereo, and let it repeat, but was evidently asleep when it stopped. L o v e Adam! After watching some vids earlier in the evening, I was quiteserene!!hahahaha!!! Alas, no dreams that I can rememberr, tho! However, my son called me and I kept calling him ‘Adam’ ! However, I’ve been calling my nephew, my grandson (6yrs old) my son, my son-in-law, and male cousing ‘Adam”! A lot of times I just don’t catch it until it’s pointed out to me! haha!
My kids, and everyone else, think I’m really obsessed, and I just agree. They think it’s hilarious! Me too!
But everyone has accepted the fact that ‘Adam is part of our family now’!
    ************************************************ PEACE-LOVE-HAPPINESS************************************ AND “DIMMERS” 4 aDAM.

    • beviegirl625 says:

Adam’s set opens with a light and sound segment with a countdown and his name spelled out on

screen with several pictures. His first song is Whole Lotta Love. Then Starlight and Mad World.

Then he brings out “my little sister Alison Iraheta” for Slow Ride. He finishes his set with the Bowie

medley Life on Mars, Fame and Let’s Dance before sinking into the stage on the riser.

      • beviegirl625 – Thank you so much! When anyone has any questions, we are so lucky to have Glambs
helping us out! Sometimes I think I need more help than most on the ‘internet’ situation! I probably do!!Hahaha! I’m learning!

    • Cheryl, don’t feel alone! I am experiencing the same with my family and like I say, ‘guilty on every count.’ I have not seen any posts from Lorrin, Theresa and a couple of others … hope they are okay. Always enjoy your posts!

Camille, once Adam’s CD is out I simply NEED a copy – can’t wait for it to be released in South Africa. I understand completely what you mean with regard to Adam and the other Idols … well stated, he is THAT good!

Admfan1, I envy you attending one of the concerts. Anyway, I am always consoled by from you and the other Glambs!

      • Ingrid, I have been writing (like mad) here every day, but usually back a few threads, answering comments and adding comments I thought were interesting. Most of my recent things are on the Tour Vibe UT page, the Adam In The Movies page, and that Twitter page we had going for awhile. I did the Adam Alphabet with everyone, that was fun, and everyone was very inventive! In fact, I haven’t written or READ so much all at one time since cramming for my finals in college! Don’t worry, I’m right here with you all, enjoying everyone’s great posts and the electric atmosphere we all create together. Have a nice late evening there in South Africa, it’s still the middle of the afternoon here in California!

      • Still here, Miss Ingrid, had company from LA so was deprived of Adam online time, but I made sure they knew about him and listened to him in the car…..

I see there are now at least 3 of you S African Glambs on this site.

        • Whew, was worried for a while! Yes SA Glambs are on the increase but not increasing fast enough for my liking. Well, glad your back – sure missed your posts!

      • Ingrid! Thanks for the ‘love’!
As you can see, Lorrin and Theresa are fine, and back on line! Isn’t it nice how we all kind of look out for each other! Like I said besfore, ‘what would we do w/o THIS SITE?!!!

        • Undoubtedly the best site! I just need my Glamb and Adam fix. If not, I show signs of serious withdrawal symptoms.

          • Ladies, I am online every day! I’m scrambling trying to write and read like mad! Maybe it just looks like I’ve disappeared for a blog or two, but believe me, I pick up again and write when I see those new topics. I think I write TOO much, and I feel sure that everyone would like to have a rest from my dissertations. Have no fear, I’m right here with all of you great people. Love to all you Glambs and everyone visiting this site, we are truly a close fellowship of people who love Adam Lambert!

    • Adam opens his set with “Whole Lotta Love”, then “Starlight” & “Mad World”. Then Duet with Alison “Slow Ride” and he closes with “Bowie Medley”.

    • Hey Cheryl, I’m glad to hear you had such a lovely and serene Adam-esque evening. And hey, that’s nothing about you calling all of your male family members by Adam’s name, I almost called one of my good gal friends by his name the other day, what!! Oh, man, time to go water the garden and do the wash for awhile, for sure!

      • Lorrin, I laughed out loud sonn as I read you almost called your gal pal by Adam’s name!!! Too funny!!! What would we do w/o this site??? HUGE THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED W/PUTTING THIS SITE TOGETHER!!! YOU’RE DOING YOUR SHARE IN HELPING ‘SOCIALIZE’ MORE AMERICANS WITH THE WORLD!!! SEE, WE AMERICANS AREN’T ALL JUST A BUNCH OF CRAZIES!!hahaha!
Anyway, Lorrin, my brain justs took a detour there for a moment! Aren’t we all too funny! I didn’t think anyone did that but me! How egotistical is THAT! We all need each other to ‘validate’ ourselves from time to time, don’t we?!!…………………..PEACE-LOVE-HAPPINESS-LIGHT-JOY-SECURITY-HOPE- 4 ADAM , and his COMMUNITY OF LOVE!

        • Ha ha ha, this is a great post, Cheryl! It is so true, we do all validate each other, and truly keep each other together in this close-knit, world-wide fellowship. And we all are very funny sometimes. We need that humor, that little bit of comic-relief. You can be sure I must have looked like an owl that swallowed a canary whole when I almost made that mistake and called my gal friend by Adam’s name! My eyes must have been as wide as saucers for a long minute there. But, she didn’t seem to notice anything amiss, ha ha. But for heaven’s sake, Lorrin, get a grip on yourself!

  5. I have struggled to figure out how I have suddenly become such an obsessed Adam Lambert fan. I simply love not only his fabulous talent (in both the godly and the not-so godly way, ha ha) but also his sweet, honest, down-to-earth demeanor. To find this level of talent is rare, but to find it in such a well-mannered, honest, and beautiful person is just unbelievable. Also, the contrast between that powerful on-stage persona and this humble, thoughtful, sometimes childlike (“I love my new jacket”), reflective person is just a killer (in a good way) combination. To use Diagardi’s phrase “I’m happy and confused.”

  6. Camille says:

I visit here pretty often and I really enjoy reading what everyone writes on here. I usually don’t comment but this time I will. From what I have heard on other sites, including youtube, Adam is who most people go to the concert to see. And from the MANY videos of the concert performances I have seen of Adam and the others, I have one conclusion and opinion, that i have heard before and that is; Adam almost seems out of place on that Idol tour. I agree with this 100%. But I am not saying this because the other idols are bad, I am saying it because Adam is THAT good. I am going to the NY shows and they can’t come soon enough. What I really can’t wait for the most is Adam’s solo CD and tour. I want it to be all about Adam because I am all about Adam…

    • HI CAMILLE

THATS OUR ADAM…..AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW ALL THE TICKET FOR THE CONCERT IN SAN DIEGO “SOLD OUT” WHAT A SURPRISE HA?????
IM WAITING FOR HIS SOLO CD AND TOUR TOO. BECAUSE I WANT TO SEE ADAM WITHOUT THE IDOL….WE NEED ADAM ALONE….PRAY THAT HE WILL COME TO ISRAEL AS WELL BUT EVEN IF NOT ,I WILL COME TO SEE HIM IN USA…..

SHALOM AND LOVE TO ALL OF ADAMS FAN

      • I could see Adam, having a Jewish background, coming to Isreal as part of a European tour.

        • I HOPE SO THERESA,,,,,IN THE BEGINING OF THE IDOL WE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT ADAM MUSH AND THEN ALL HIS VEDIO ON YOUTUBE BECOME VERY FAMOS AND FEW O THEM WAS LIKE 4 YEARS AGO IN LOS ANGELES SERAMONY,ADAM SINGING IN “HEBREW” OMG I ALMOST GOT A HEART ATTACK.HE WAS SO AMAIZING AND EVEN ON STURDAY NIGHT LATE NEWS IT WAS ARTICLE ABOUT HIM,THIS IS HOW HE BECOME VERY BIG IN ISRAEL AND HAS A BIG FANS WEBSITE

          • Hi Ofra, can you possibly post the link to Adam’s fansite there in Israel? I would love to see it! I think it would be marvelous if Adam could come to Israel, wouldn’t that be the most special and unbelievable concert?

            • DEAR LORRIN

HERE IS THE LINK,WELL MOST TEH WRITE ITS IN HEBREW ,ITS AMIZING HOW THEY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT ADAM IN EVERY SINGLE MOMENT ITS UNBELIVE…..PLS WRITE ME BACK IF YOU GOT IT

              http://www.tapuz.co.il/Communa/userCommunaMsges.asp?CommunaId=35313

              • OFRA, thank you SO much for this link to Adam in Israel! It came through just fine, and I’m having so much fun looking through it. It’s interesting that it’s so bright and cheery-looking, while our Adam sites here in the states are so full of Adam’s favoritie dark colors (which I love, too). Israel has always been one of the places at the very center of my life, and I consider Hebrew one of the most beautiful spoken and written languages on earth. I will just have to get to an online English-Hebrew dictionary, and get to work translating the website.

Oh, I have a question: which Israeli city do you think would be the best one for one of Adam’s concerts?

Thanks so much again for posting the link!

  7. Every time I see one of Adam’s interviews, I admire him even more!!! He is so REAL and honest with every question he’s asked! As I’ve said a gazillion times, ADAM IS AMAZING!!!!! Love Him. Love Him. Love everything about Adam!!

    • I feel the some way you do. He is one of the most sweety people. And he love his fans.He alway try to take time for his fans. HE IS AMAZING AND TRUE!!!! And he is so sexy. I can never get enough of him. And with him being gay just make him more sexy . LOVE ADAM

  9. hi CHERYL NORMAN..

I WENT TO THE UTAH CONCERT TUESDAY NIGHT… HERE IS THE LINE UP AS I REMEMBER IT.. FIRST ” WHOLE LOT OF LOVE ” 2 STARLIGHT. 3RD MADWORLD 4TH SLOW RIDE. 5TH BOWIE MEDLY…. ALL OF THEM MORE THAN GREAT.. HE IS EVEN BETTER IN PERSON.. HE IS SO FANTASTIC !!!!! THE WHOLE STATIUM STOOD FOR HIS WHOLE SET OF SONGS.. THEY SCREAMED 10 TIMES LOUDER FOR HIM THAN ANYONE ELSE.. THE PLACE WAS ONLY ALIVE WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE OR EVEN JUST WHEN HIS PICTURE WAS ON SCREEN.. LOL LOVED HIM TO PIECES…….. SHERRY

    • Cee,

He only gets 4 songs for his set, so if he didn’t do Slow Ride, he would be on stage that much less time. Slow Ride doesn’t count as one of his allotted songs, it’s extra.

    • ADAMFAN1 – Hey, Sherry! THAN YOU FOR THAT INFO!! Sounds good! He may do WLL 1st cuz he’s wearing the jacket, and isn’t too warm yet, then takes off the jacket and can finish 2nd song, then change clothes for Mad World, etc. Thanks for the explanaqtion of how everyone4 stood for the whole set!! I wasn’t aware of that! Well, things will just keep heating up for Adam as the tour goes on!!!! His fans are growing so fast! By the last couple of shows, I bet it wil be very interesting!! I bet the other idols are so uncomfortable having to hear everyone scream for him and knowing they’re not getting any of that! Must really be a WAKE-UP call for them! Whoever doesn’t like Adam, can’t deny his abilities!!! They can’t feel too cool either! I don’t care if they don’t!! Adam ‘won’ the contest, now he proves it at every concert!!! I’ve seen all the video clips of him on stage many, many times, and I’m just awed at the whole thing! It is so incredible, just leaves me like a rag doll! haha! KEEP IT COOL NOW BABY-ROCK-ON-ADAM!!!
Thanks, again, Sherry! ……………PEACE-LOVE-JOY 4 ADAM……….and all adam fans!

    • The Idol Tour audiences have been THE SAME EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!

  10. rocker-lady says:

I am going to see the Idols in San Diego! the first time ever that I bother with the show and actually bought a ticket to see it. ALL because of ADAM, I am only going to see Adam, he is the only artist on the show worth supporting. He has raw talent, he has grace, he has style he is grounded and he is a phenominal artist here in the making, and I am glad to be part of it! I have NEVER emailed, blogged, twittered and commented on anything like I have with Adam. For some reason is like I want to protect him from all the evil wolves out there with there negativity. We lost MJ to all the wolves that syrrounded his live for the last 10 years. Our Adam is going to be protected by his Glamberts for sure!
Can’t wait to see our boy, THANKS TO all of you in supporting Adam~

    • rocker-lady, I’m with you all the way, watching Adam’s back! We protect Adam and we look out for each other! Please post your comments after the San Diego concert – Enjoy!

  11. adam lamber is perferct-thats all i can say.

  12. Yeah, I felt kind of bad for Kris because he had to follow Adam. Adam had CUH-RAZY, awesome lighting and amazing dance moves. Then Kris just strummed a guitar and sat in a chair – he did great too, but Adam was just a showstopper 🙂

Check out http://www.dcdisney.piczo.com/adamlambertgallery for almost 1000 Adam pix!

  13. I do have a question, will anyone be posting more pictures and feedback from the Utah and Los Angeles shows on their respective pages? I would love to see them.

  14. I just checked out youtube Utah, and got ‘slow ride’.. Adam has cranked it up a notch, he talks more with the audience, thanking them for supporting him, then introducing Alison as his ‘kid sister’ so cute!!!

  15. Lunawest says:

Personally, I think the “Slow Ride” duet as performed for the AI TV audience was the best performance I’ve EVER seen on any AI show. I’m glad they’re including it on the tour. Won’t get to see it ’til September in Connecticut…

  16. AmazingAdam says:

I’m going to see ADAM’s concert in Staples Center tonight in about 2 hrs!!! Woohooooo…..So excited, been waiting for tonight! ^_^

  17. AmazingAdam says:

Hey guys, I just came back from the AI La tour today, July 16th at Staples Center!
Adam was still the BOMB, he is as good looking as I always imagine! Handsome very handsome.
He performed well and very glam. I was so excited when he came up on the stage, I’ve been waiting for this concert for a month!

However, on the down side, I was little bit disappointed in his performance tonight. Maybe I didn’t get the best sit in the house? But I felt he just sang songs that been there and nothing unique about the songs, except his voice and his outfit. He didn’t twist and turn the song like he did in AI competition. I was expecting more on that.

On the other hand, Kris did pretty good, I would give him some credits after tonight show. Very talented guy, he played different instruments and sang well. Didn’t expect that at all. So did Matt Giraud to my surprise, he was awesome tonight, he made the crowd went nuts. 🙂

Downside, Dany Gokey. I thought he did pretty good on TV, but not on the concert tonight. His choice of songs were terrible! And he tried to give a short ‘speech’ to the crowd, that sounded like ‘preaching’ to me, I felt like in the church listening to a pastor! My GOD! horrible. (nothing personal against the church or preaching)

Anyway, I’m still Adam Lambert fan, still looking forward for his CD and more performances. I just hope, he pick the right songs that really fits his voice and his style.

    Love ya Adam :-*

    • How was the crowd’s reaction to Adam? That’s pretty much been his home town for the last 9 years, so I would expect quite a reaction to him. I listened on pod cast, and it really sounded crazy. I thought Adam put some extra pop in his songs, too. Come on, Amazing Adam, give us the scivvy!

      • The crowd pretty much started going nuts as soon as Danny finished his set, they weren’t cheering for him, but cheering for who was coming next. I saw the comment from another post about the crowd screaming every time a pix of adam came on over the prompter. It could be just a pix of his eyes and the crowd went nuts. A small glimpse of him on one of those ford commercials and the crowd went nuts. My husband thought is was nuts that the crowd did this, he just doesn’t understand the power of Adam…

    • Just a very quick remark here. One expects the contestants on Idol to twist songs as that’s part and parcel of the competition. But once these artists – not contestants – artists, go on tour, they are not expected to vary their performances very much. This has to do with the way they are rehearsed with the band, the way the light cues are timed and the way the show is planned. it’s the nature of theater.

      • Fascinating, Songwriter4adam, thank you for the technical background info. Do you actually ‘songwrite’ for Adam, or are you in the music business? Please put in these nice notes from the ‘business’ now and then, they are so interesting.

        • Thanks, Lorrin, although I am so enjoying the more light-hearted tenor of these posts, i don’t want to weigh it down too much with the business stuff.

I am indeed in the music business and have a heavy background in network television production. I am going into the studio next week to record a very fun rock song which my partner and I have written expressly for Adam. We have hired an amazing vocal artist (Sammy Hagar’s cousin, actually) who can imitate Adam’s voice and will really rock out for us on the track.. Due to a top-echelon connection we have at AI, and other connections, we know it will get listened to. Beyond that, one keeps ones fingers crossed and prays to the universe!

The bottom line is, Adam totally inspires me, just as he does you, and all of us, in fact.

          • You are a very distinguished professional member of our adamunofficial.com family, Songwriter4adam. I think if we could all play ‘What’s My Line’, we would all be amazed at our various backgrounds. That’s the beauty of online anonymity. But that same anonymity also encourages some wonderful flights of literary imagination and excellence. I have been trying to catch up with you since you first wrote and encouraged me a few threads back, and I’m wondering if you have seen my replies? My most recent reply to you is on the ‘What Do You Want To Know From Adam’ topic page. My post is just below yours, and our posts are numbers 33 and 34 respectively. Your comments have given me a huge boost, and I am seriously moving toward actually trying to make some kind of book with commentary about Adam Lambert. I am not quite sure of how to proceed on the technical aspects of getting a book or articles published, so that has yet to be done. But in the meantime, thank you again for being such an encouraging voice. I hope that song of yours becomes a very successful project for you!

            • Adam has a manager now. Probably what I would do is try to find out who his manager is, and send some writing samples with a one to two paragraph proposal for a commemorative photo book or tour program for his first solo tour, which program would include great photos of Adam interspersed with your commentary and Adam’s quotes as well.

As a sample, you could send a photo of Adam with your words flowing beside it (as a professional sample of how it could look on a program page). If you have a friend into graphic arts, they could put it together for you.

As part of your cover letter/proposal, you can include testimonials you’ve received from your postings on this site. You should also include a brief description of your writing credentials.

              Good luck!

              • Thank you so much, Songwriter4Adam. I had a good idea of how to proceed, but you knew the best route. I will start moving right along with that. Let us know when that song for Adam comes out, too. I so appreciate your knowledge and expertise, and for taking the time to do a little coaching. Thanks again!

    • Yeah, I went to the concert as well. It was GREAT. I agree I liked Matt’s set, I was surprised he did well, I would go and see him again. I also liked Scott’s and Kris’ sets. All in all it was a great concert, thought Adam should of had some more stage time though. There were a lot of “finales”, then the 20 minute intermission after Matt’s set, could of done with more Adam, less “finales” and who needs intermission – oh yeah I guess the band does, just being selfish.

Adam’s set started off with Whole lotta love, I must say – GREAT, although the background on the stage kind of washed him out, it was dark, his outfit was dark. He looked sexy great and sounded great. Had pretty good seats so I could actually see the deatil of his jacket he talks about, it is the BOMB. Then came Starlight – OHMYGOSH, that was SICK. Loved it !! Mad World came next – again GREAT. Then out came Allison to do the duet. I like her and all, but I would of loved to just see another solo Adam song. As I mentioned above, there were already a lot of duets and “finales”. Then came the David Bowie medley – I liked it, but for some reason didn’t love it. Loved the fact that he took off his jacket and did a “jig”, but think the transition bewteen songs was hard, had a lot of rock songs already in his set, maybe somthing more on the lines of A change is going to come. WIsh it could of been longer. Then Kris came out, I really liked his set as well. Lots of folks left after Adam’s, which I thought was a bit “heartless”. Kris really is a talented guy. Then came the final finale, of course Kris and Adam got the least stage time, come on guys, more Adam please!!!

  18. You guys! Is this it? I went to the LA concert tonight and now it’s 2:20 in the morning and I am just trying to wind down. Here we go. I was sitting no more than 50 feet from Adam right at stage-level view. I MUST TELL YOU THAT ADAM IS EVEN MORE DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS IN PERSON THAN HE IS ON THE SCREEN. Plus his stage presence so eclipses everyone on that show, it’s unbelievable.

Most of the concert was a snore for me except for Anoup, who was way cool, Scott who did some really nice work, Allison who rocked out, and of course Cris with his killer version of “Heartless”.

What was funny was right before the concert, the screens were showing shots of the Idols. Every time Adam’s picture came up on the screen, there were piercing screams heard throughout the 17,000 plus packed arena.

In some ways, it was as if the concert didn’t start until Adam came on stage. His performance was pretty much like I’d seen on YouTube for the other concerts. He is just a consummate performer who commands every inch of the stage with his staggeringly sexy stage persona. He also had a huge round, low slung crystal or rhinestone belt buckle, which I must say, fascinated me, especially the way he kept kind of touching it and digging his hand around it. (OK, he was naughty tonight).

The thing is, everyone was just sort of waiting for him to come on, then he came on, and it was too short! I felt like Adam had just gotten the party started when he took off his jacket (sigh) and went into the “Just Dance” end of the David Bowie medley. And then suddenly, he was gone and it was too darn short. Chris’ performance seemed anti-climactic after that (jeez, who could follow Adam Lambert????) so there was a bit of a let-down there.

But all will be well again when Adam does his first solo concert of new material….and frankly, I can’t wait!

To cap off my lovely and enchanted evening with Adam & Co., I waited outside for two hours and lo and behold, Adam came out and signed autographs…including mine. Thank you Adam for a lovely evening!

    • Hmmmm, definitely like the naughty part!

    • Ah, sounds like he traded his snake belt buckle for a crystal one. I’ve been able to look up his large pendants, but not found out anything about the buckles.

I guess the show must stay fairly similar for each venue. Was his hair up or down? Were his jeans a kind of nylon, with a tear out hole?

Oh well, it’s okay, I will just look for videos from LA later on.

      • His hair was down. Not sure on the pants – I was too focused on the buckle…and every inch of his love! LOL.

        • SONGWRITER4ADAM …….Loved your description of the show!!!! But, ladies, yeas, I talking to you, THERESA/CANADA,OFRA & INGRID!!!! So you all ‘like’ the ‘naughty’ part!! Oooohh! You’re ‘naughty girls’! Me, too!!! hahaha! Good god almighty, as time goes on, maybe I can ‘score’ a couplt tickets somewhere! Like I said, I would likely be going to the Grand Rapids, MI concert if I could get tickets, but when I checked them out way back when, the front rows were selling for near $1,000. each! I just would not want to be back so far that I couldn’t count the hairs on Adam’s head with binoculars!! Funny how one can lower expectations when desire overtakes!!!!! MAY WE ALL ROCK-ON WITH ADAM!!!

          • Cheryl, you are piece of work and I so enjoy your posts! How’s this for an idea. I am sure there will be a number of Adam Concerts (not AI, but Adam) next year. We (global Glambs) should make a date to meet at one of these concerts. We will have to meet before the concert and make the biggest (Glamb) banner ever, have our national flags flying to show that Adam is a universal phonomenon and send a shout out to everyone to keep quiet (difficult as it may be) when Adam sings the more intense slower songs so that we do not contaminate his beautiful voice. During the upbeat rock songs, we can go into a frenzy, faint, loose our voices, etc. I can just see us strutting our stuff and letting the World know that this is our Adam and when you mess with him, you mess with us … and you seriously don’t want to do that. We can then go and celebrate our Glambhood.

            • Sounds like a plan! I’m in!!!

              • Oh yeah, ME too, count me in. I’ll definitely help with that sign, and he will definitely be able to see it when we hold it up. We must all wear the colors, black, blue, purple, silver, and plenty of glitter….of course, we will have to have someone coordinate the ticket buying for the front row area, someone will have to take a good video camera or whatever will pass inspection, we will have to book the reservations…..think we could do it? Wouldn’t that be too much if we could pull it off? I don’t know if this old girl could really do it, but I sure would love to, and see all you Glambs from everywhere, what unforgettable fun that would be!

                • I forgot, we have a regular ‘artistic’ Glamb in our midst … follow my eye to the post above. Lorrin, ‘old girl’, no! Your spirit is young and lively and besides we will take good care of you!

                  • Oh thank you, Ingrid!….see my post below, third one down below Cheryl’s and yours.

            • INGRID – Hey! Thanks for the ‘love’!!! Makes me feel all warm inside!! Hahaha! But it does! I think you;’ve got a great idea!!! Count me in! I am soooo ready for tht! We need to do this before we die!
(well perish that stsupid thought)!! What WAS I THINKING??? You know, one of my very favorite, if not definately favorite songs that Adam did was ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’!! I’ve loved that song since I first heard it back in the 60’s! Adam DID IT JUSTICE MORE THAN ANYONE HAS!! He ‘knows’ just
exactly where to winde it up and put that ‘cry’ into it, very ‘bluesey (sp)! I love great blues music!
He was so unforgettable when he did that song. I mean his version is unforgettable!! I just can’t
get enough of him or say enough about this outstanding icon, like everyone else!!!
GLAMS-ROCK!!!!!!! AND WE KNOW GREAT MUSIC!!! ……love-peace-adam-

              • Thanks Cheryl, Lorrin, Ofra – I think this plan can work!

                • Well if you gals say so….but if I disappear sometime during the show, I’m sure I will be somewhere down around on the floor somewhere in a dead faint, I will count on you all to drag me out of there for the post-show meeting with Adam outside, I want you all to turn me around and have him sign the back of my shirt (or maybe the front of my shirt, I don’t know, oh well), bunch me into the car, and get me to the all-night GlamberAma….if I can’t seem to make it through that, prop me in a corner somewhere, and I’ll be fine….just being silly….don’t worry, if we really do this thing, I’ll be there with bells on, and probably some studs and black duds too, and I’ll out-yell and out-scream all of you, not to mention getting that sign up there under his beautiful nose…..we will be invincible!

                  • Oh Lorrin, I am so busy laughing that I cannot think of an intelligent response.

            • INGRID…….IM IN TOO 100%

          • DEAR CHERYL

OH YES I DO…..OUR GUY KNOWS VERY WELL WHAT WOMEN NEED”WLL”…..OMG HE KNOWS HOW TO MOVE HIS HIPS SO WELL NOT EVERYONE CAN DO IT….I CAN BECAUSE IM IN A “BELLY DANCE CLASS” AT MY GYM,AND BELIVE ME HOW HARD IT IS ,I WAS SO IMPERS OF ADAM DOUNG IT SO EASLY GOOD FOR HIM “AND FOR US”

THERE WASN’T AN MOVE I COULDN’T DO!!!! until I had my 4th back surgery!! Even an a
girl, around 10-11 yrs old, when my mom started ballroom dancing, and she was so good, did
I learn the correct way to dance, ballroom style! But my mother definately was no boring mom!
She did the ‘swing’ or ‘jitterbug’ as some call it, unbelievably!! I, of course, loved all the dances
of the 60’s, 70’s, upto now. At one point after mky divorce, I used to go to the ‘clubs’ on Tues.
and Thurs. In about 3 months, I had lost 60lbs.!!! I was under 95lbs and my mother was sure I
had cancer!! hahaha! I could have stood to lose 20, but not 60lbs!!
You belly dance!!! Cool! I did have a friend who did years ago! That really keeps you limber,
              doesn’t it?! That is GREAT!!!
As far as you being in Isreal, well, don’t give up on THE GLAMBS ROCK-IT-OUT-WITH-ADAM
date!! When the time gets closer, I’m sure we can figure out a way to get you here!!!
I’ve got to do some cooking prep for Sunday brunch w/my family, and I keep trying to do it, but
can’t stay away from the computer!! He (my computer) keeps whistling sts me, just to get my
              attention!!! How annoying is that!?
Stay cool, keep on keeping-on w/Adam and we Glambs!!! We Love You!!…..peace-love-joy..

    • Songwriter4adam, thank you for this excellent in-person review of the show and Adam. I had such a sense of his overpowering presence and his huge stage persona from reading your post. I saw another video from the San Jose show from someone who had captured Adam from very close-up, and his beauty, and the power he projects are almost too much to take in. I too, find his time on stage too short and the song sequences and arrangements maybe a bit awkward for Adam; but as I see him go from show to show, giving out all that outrageously gorgeous sound and strutting out all that stuff on stage, that all the abbreviated awkwardness of these shows is going to work to his advantage. Because by the time he begins his own concert tour, the build-up he has created with just this small taste of his pyrotechnic power will be unleashed in an avalanche and a deluge of shrieking love and emotion for this man. The AI tour is only the off-shore build-up of the massive hurricane to come!

Adam was truly amazing at the LA concert last night, but I was also pleasantly surprised by a few of the other idols. Anoop got the crowd going with one of his songs and had the crowd on their feet. Matt Girard rocked the house with the Britney song (My Perogative), again with everyone on their feet. He even mentioned that he was surprised because he had heard backstage to expect the the crowd might not be as receptive and would sit there with the arms across their chest (note he didn’t say that, but showed us). Allison was fantastic with her set. She’s so energetic and just rocked with Pink, Heart and Janis Joplin songs. Again, the crowd was on their feet. Danny Gokey was surprisingly decent with his first song (MJ, PYT) and also had the crowd going. It was actually a lot of stand up, sit down as the mood moved from fast to slow and back to fast.

Of course, the crowd went crazy when Adam came on. He sounded amazing, and had his dance moves down. He sang “woman” instead of “baby” in Whole Lotta Love, and introduced Allison as his girl for their duet. Both were so cute, building off of each other… not hokey at all! I absolutely love Starlight and the Bowie set, and the crowd was on their feet screaming the whole time. I was a bit disappointed when people around me sat down for Mad World… that’s what I mean when I said the crowd was up and down a lot.

Kris Allen sounded really good too. Of course, it’s a bit of a let-down after Adam, but he still sounded good and got the crowd on their feet for his first song. Again up/down. All in all, I thought the LA crowd was much more gracious with the other idols than I was expecting. They cheered really loudly for at least the top 6 (Scott, Anoop, Matt, Allison, Danny, Adam, Kris) and were on their feet for at least one song of each performance. Matt, Danny and Kris also had the crowds going with glow sticks and phones. All in all, it was a really fun concert and I walked away satisfied. Adam’s set was way too short and I can’t wait for him to tour on his own. Just saw him last night, and I already need another Adam fix…
