Our own Flaming Glamfingers, Lorrin, found this alluring and unusual photo of Adam, and it so touched her that she was inspired her to write the below poem. I do have to say I’ve never seen this photo before, and it captures Adam in a whole new light. So without further ado, here is Lorrin’s poem, printed here with permission:
Who are you, enigmatic man of endless mystery,
Hiding behind a curtain of dark and light
Showing only just-so-much of your beautiful face,
Waiting in quiet reverie to reveal the whole effect
Of your newest, fairest face?
First we see the painted eye, how could we not,
Each lash picked out in sea-green strands
Set against the whole, a glittering slash of
Sparkling black, the entire eye a Venetian Mask
A testament to the painter’s art.
Then our eyes are drawn to view the other side
Of the fair, mysterious living mask of your own creation,
And we cannot help but see the loving, piercing glance
In your azure eye, deeply shaded in its own mystery
By the gathering shadows of your hiding place.
Next we see the curving lines of your enigmatic smile
Causing us to wonder what you are seeing that is so
Fascinating just beyond our view, and what you could be
Thinking as you look out from your hidden refuge,
Half in shadow, half in light?
If we could only know the wellspring of your heart
From which all the mysteries and ever-changing faces
Of your life find their start; we could begin to part the
Veils that conceal your mind from ours, and really hold
Within our deepest selves, the very thing that makes you
Who you are, man of darkness and of light

Thank you Lorrin, for this beautiful photo and equally beautiful poem!
In interviews Adam has always been open with his life and his goals, and yet he exudes this undeniable air of mystery. How do you think this is possible? Do you, too, see an enigma in Adam? If so, in what way?
