Glam Nation- Rockford, Il 09/04/2010

R.O.C.K.F.O.R.D. Il. Now this was a new experience for me, as I had never been to the “On The Waterfront” Festival before. It was pretty cool, I must say.
Unfortunately for those of you watching these videos, the sound was so loud that it comes across as distorted. Adam kept giving hand signals etc. to the soundboard but unfortunately for you guys, the vids don’t sound as great as he did in real life!!
It was also a little chilly by the end of the night, but thanks to Adam we were dancing up a storm and keeping warm!!! You can see Adam’s breath when he is watching Tommy Joe’s solo during If I Had You!!
Thank you to everyone that came up and introduced themselves to me, I love meeting you all!!! Check ‘em out,

  1. I was there, too, and agree that it sounded great! You wouldn’t have guessed he was having sound trouble if you didn’t see the hand gestures or witness him walking over to the sound guy multiple times to “talk”. The cold couldn’t have helped his voice any; I’m guessing that’s one of the reasons we had a ‘Mad World’ only encore. Not that I’m complaining….I’ll take what I can get!!

    Music Again !
Princessshakeitup (aka Sister Born To Be Wild) and I glammed it up and danced it up in Rockford and would like to send a big SHOUT OUT to Adam and Company for the fantastic show !!! Yep, it was chilly, but when you’re dancing the entire time it just doesn’t matter! Everything about the night was magical and Rockford newspapers report that there has never been an artist that has captured a bigger audience . . . what a shock! Well, not suprising to any of us. Thank you, Adam, for bringing sexy back to all our lives.

    • So Glad that you and Princess made it I can’t wait to hear more!!!

There is SO MUCH I could say here but this aint my personal blog so I will TRY to keep it somewhat under control….
I am still floating around on a glittery Adam cloud and can not be thankful enough for safe flights[your prayers and good energy WORKED], reasonably good weather [my blood is much thinner now that I am an island chick] and the incredible generosity and general love overload from my sister in life and in Adam; Sister Mary Mad World. GLAD he played that one for you this time Sister Girlfriend!
Seeing Adam live was simply surreal. I feel extremely honored to have had this chance that so many others wish for and haven’t had yet for whatever reason. As Mary said, we shook our tail feathers till they damn near fell off but there were times I stood still and just looked at him and tried to soak it all in to store in some special love memory cells to be able to draw on later. I tried hard not to lose a moment of bliss by worrying that every song brought us closer to the end. I did live very much in the moment. I desperately wanted to touch him. He touched me completely. The music was wonderful and everyone on stage was beautiful. ALISON ROCKED…I was very proud of her!!!
I’m still in too much of a fog to make a lot of sense but I did want to get this much in to say THANK YOU to Mary and Sue and Irena and Farzana and all of you who give me an outlet here to share such unique feelings and experiences that only we can understand.
        Peace, Love and Adam Lambert!
WHEN can I see him next!?

  3. For those who were at the Rockford concert I have a question. Was the audience as quiet as it appeared on the video play backs? I grew up in Rockford and know it is a very conservative town. I thought perhaps that was why it was toned down. I noticed Adam shaking his finger at Tommy so there was no kiss. At one time Rockford had more churches per capita of people in the US. That may have changed. Just interested in what others thought.

OK, and now if I may rant a bit…
When SMMW and I signed on for this particular venue we didn’t really understand that it was outdoors after an all day family-friendly event. We thought it was at the Coronado Theatre. Please, those of you who are not crazy about all the wicked stuff, PLEASE do not give me any lectures here because…I WANTED SOME NASTINESS!!! I wanted to see the ‘boys’ kissing, I wanted tongue diving and WOULD HAVE swapped spit with the poor person next to me if I had been at the concert where Adam made that suggestion. [this would probably explain why the woman sitting on the other side of me moved between me and her daughter…she must have caught my vibe…] I WANTED Adam to writhe on the floor and snarl and thrust his leather-ness at the crowd. I wanted me some BAD!
I am from the Midwest so I can get away with saying this…a Midwesterner’s idea of GLAM is to wear a clean sweatshirt! There was a guy up front in Suz’s amazing videos wearing a Jeff Gordon # 24 hat for God’s sake! NASCAR is NOT GLAM!!!
I know it was cold and I know we were outdoors [at least I do now!] but I think ROCKford could have ROCKed it just a bit more!!! That same lady I mentioned who sat next to me [who really was very nice] looked at me at one point and said, “if everyone would just sit down we could all see” I don’t know exactly what my expression read but she followed that with “OK, Probably not” No, maam. Probably not.
I won’t even tell you all about my experiences with the local radio DJ’s who put me on the morning show 2 days in a row, yucked it up and took photos with us before the show, to whom I GAVE my black gold glittery “ADAM” cape and then did not take me and SMMW back with them to meet and greet Adam. Did. Not. Left us standing there all glammed up with no place to go except to our cold plastic seats.
Well…Ok…I got that off my chest. I still had more fun than should be legal but I needed to vent a bit. Done.
Next time I see Adam I am going to make sure it is somewhere naughty.

Anyone know why there was a different keyboardist? Just curious.

  5. I too am a midwesterner and was born and raisded in Rockford. I now live in TN but traveled to Rockford for the 9/4 concert since it was my birthday and also my second concert. I noticed a “toned downness” about the concert and then realized that Adam had said that his performance is “family friendly” you cant get much more family oriented than “On the Waterfront.” I brought my 26 year old neice and my 9 year old great niece. I was concerned about what the 9 year old would see and how to answer any questions. But, true to his word, he was family friendly. The crowd did seem rather mellow which surprised me greatly. But, I saw Adam for the second time, alls good.
