Last Wednesday I called into Juneau/Xena's radio show b/c there aren't any links to Black musical influences on their "10 Things You Should Know about Adam Lambert" list. I need some culturally-relevant info for when I talk to other Black folks about Adam, since we're generally not into Brian May, Queen or Kiss!

Well, now the show this week (Wed., 8/11) will be about just that! "The Blue-Eyed Soul of Adam Lambert" will explore R&B/gospel/soul influences on his music, with musical examples and samples of Adam's performances. Expect to hear names and/or music by singers like Little Richard, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and Prince. If there's time maybe Robert Plant, the Righteous Brothers and Huey Lewis, too!

During the show, listeners can call in with comments and suggestions for soul music they'd like to hear Adam cover.
