When watching American Idol last year I vowed to never watch it again because I thought Adam should have one Idol HANDS DOWN!!! What a shock when he didn't. His Rock vocals were outstanding and everything he sang was what he vowed to produce when done with Idol. He did say that he would, "STAY TRUE," to himslef. WELL, he sure didn't do that when I bought not only his first album but he second one as well. What happened to the Adam we heard on Idol. Now I vowed to not buy another one of his albums. What a shame and waste.

you obviously do not follow Adam so nice try. First of all he only has one album out (For Your Entertainment) and secondly he consistently said he would out out a "dance/pop" album and of course he did exactly that. Check your facts before pretending to be a former fan again.

I have come to believe that Adam is an insincere and unattractive person. I am deeply disappointed in his attitude and have dropped away from being his fan. sorry to shine the light on things but I met him and was extrmely shocked by his dismissive attitude. There was nothing going on and no one was at all intrusive. He acted as though he was some kind of royalty. Of course the cameras were not rolling so he could get away with all. Not a nice guy at all. He treated us like we were vermin and a younger fan was with us.

Disappointment is difficult. I don't know how many people have told me of the bad behaviors of celebrities and it totally ruins my concept of them often for life. But you have to remember, they are human just like the rest of us. As I watch Adam especially in paparazzi footage I wonder how can he stand it. Especially the paparazzi that SCREAM demands "TURN LEFT" "TURN RIGHT" "SMILE…I KNOW YOU CAN SMILE" He recently said some of them say things to jab at him, rude comments just to get his attention. I find it degrading and incredibly disrespectful. I want to slap them up side of the head and ask where they got their manners. I also see fans running behind him screaming at him. They always expect him to stop what he is doing, sign autographs or pose in pictures. He's often so gracious. This has to wear on a person and I don't care if this lifestyle comes with his dream. Yes, there are perks, but losing your privacy has got to be hard. He is no longer ever allowed to be "off" and even stated on Oprah it's difficult to go out like a regular person. He is now expected to be and act like the property of strangers. Adam strikes me as very introverted and this is based on things he says in interviews. He's learned to be a performer and constantly says it gives him confidence. He constantly says he has self-esteem issues. I don't think being in the spotlight comes natural to him, but he's rolling with it. I enjoy hearing these real stories about him even those of disappointment - glimpses of a moment in his life. It reminds me he is human. He's still working it out and learning how to be a rock star. It takes time to adjust whether it's learning how to deal with the intrusive public or find his own music style. He's not insincere - if anything it was a moment when he was being true to himself. I have yet to see him hit a photographer or scream at anyone. I think being "dismissive" is kind compared to how I would be. Lately he's been saying he's running on 2-4 hours of sleep. How would you act with little sleep and people demanding and grabbing at you? Constant criticism from people who hate you and even criticism from people who claim to have been a fan. Give him a break. He isn't a god - he's human.

These people don't sound like they are trolls just being nasty. They sound like Adam fans who are just disappointed in something he's done and want to discuss it. I think we expect him to be perfect and to fulfill our rock god fantasies, but like what jaymonroe said, he's just a human and sometimes that's hard to accept. He can't be everything to everyone and it can be disappointing when he does something we don't expect our dream boy to do. I was disappointed he flipped the audience off at the AMA's. No one really talks about that and they rarely show it. I don't care about the sex perfomance, but flipping people off just seemed really rude to his audience/fans and he can't claim it as some kind of interpretation of the lyrics because it wasn't. I also don't like hearing him announce if he were to do the AMAs over he'd do it the same way. It's like he's really stubborn about his position without thinking about his overall career and professional longevity. He needs to work well with people in power at least until he establishes himself THEN he can flip them all off! They still aren't letting him do live shows probably because of these statements that threaten more unpredictable behavior and the FYE single dropped out of promotion as if it never existed, he's never performed it again for a tv show, yet Adam has no regrets? Seems illogical. He needs to start being smart and professional about his career. The insightful interview that talked about the powers that be wanting to replace him in The Ten Commandments or the fact he wasn't going anywhere in Wicked as a chorus boy for life - very interesting. With his singing abilities, he should have had more opportunities for advancement in the theater. I think there is a lot about Adam we don't know. I wish him well and lots of success, but he sure has done a lot to sabbotage his career over the years which is probably why it took him so long to get anywhere. Hopefully he can focus and stay on the road to success. And I think he needs better management to guide him. I still love him. I enjoy humans.

jeffrey: you are wrong. Adam has two CDs out. "Take One" IS an Adam Lambert CD, although produced and marketed by sleazy people and not promoted by Adam, it still is an Adam Lambert CD. Follow your own advice and check your facts.

I have yet to figure out why you people are so offended at the opinions of others about someone you don't even know. These people aren't being rude but offering variable discussion topics. There are ways to debate their issues without rudely telling them they have nothing better to do. Obviously if we are all wasting our time on a fan site regardless of what we say, we don't have nothing better to do. That's the point…

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, whether positive or negative. On a positive note, I think that Adam needs time to adjust to his fame. Yes, he may offend some people unwittingly, as there are fans who expect him to conform to their way of thinking in music, etc. I do not believe he deliberately insults fans, or anyone else.

As for the AI songs he sang, I loved them all and his rendition of them. I also prefer Adam singing the songs he sang in productions, before Idol. I love the theater but I love all different types of music. I am not disappointed with his debut album. I guess we all go by what we hear and what I hear on this album is great. So, other people don't like it. It is what it is, and you can always find another artist to your taste.
The only time I was disappointed in him, was on the AMA's and that's because vocally it was a mess. He could have done better. Nevertheless, I'm still an Adam fan and always will be.

My son and I followed Adam from the time he hit American Idol to the dissapointing loss. We both felt that without a doubt he should've won American Idol hands down, but accepted Chris as a good singer. Both of us were awestruck by his vocal talent on Idol. What a shame that when I bought the new album for me and my son to listen to not only could i not let my son have it for Chrismas after listening to it, but would never listen to it again myself. I do not understand why he feels the need to make an unnecessary and completely blatent statement about his sexuality and preferences that had nothing to do with music. I just wish that he had stuck to singing great music with his talent instead of wasting it trying to make a foolhardy statement. And for the person who felt that he has it bad, be assured that Adam Lambert is exactly where he wants to be. Also to the person who said he was introverted, are you kidding me?!

truly, Adams disappointed fans

I agree with the person who said Adam is introverted. Yeah, I know, he's out there prancing around and on camera constantly, but it helps to understand the difference between introversion and extroversion. Introversion is when you need strength, you go within; extroversion is finding strength outside yourself usually from others. Adam is always saying how he needs "me time", talking about his self-image issues, and indicating he is often self-reflective. It's all about "self" with introverts. Introverts can get in front of people but it's not as easy for them as extroverts. They NEED quiet time and time to process what is going on and how it relates to them personally. Adam is always talking about this. He also said once I think it was in Salt Lake City, when he got there for the Idol tour he stayed in his hotel room the whole time and didn't leave. "Me time" he called it. That's what introverts do. Extroverts instead would seek people to gain energy. Introversion isn't usually compatible with celebrity so performance and extroverted behavior need to be learned for someone who wants to sing. Singing, although you can do it alone for yourself, is basically an extroverted activity to be shared with others. He discovered the joy of singing and performing early and cultivated some extroverted behaviors. Those of us who say he is introverted might be wrong, but he's showing all the signs. I've known a lot of introverts who are divas, even loud and obnoxious. But when they need energy, it's a very personal, private process with a desperate need to be alone. They have a difficult time being "on" for others all the time. It could be why it took Adam 10 years to break through with the level of talent he has. He often talks about if he would have auditioned for Idol earlier he wouldn't have been able to deal with the competition and pressure. INTROVERT! Extroverts can get up in front of anyone and do anything most of the time because they get their strength from others in audience situations. Also, studies indicate strawberry blondes are genetically predisposed to being introverted and shy. Bingo. He's got all the indicators. It would be interested to know what Adam thinks on this - but he might not understand what introversion means, like most people it's assumed if you choose the spotlight you can't possibly be introverted.

To anthony 1/2: See, now, I didn't get blantant sexual orientation statements from his CD. The words all seemed very inclusive to all (I'm straight). Yes, sexual, but nothing to do with being gay. Lots of different songs dealing with lots of different emotional issues that everyone deals with especially younger people trying to find themselves and find love. I like all the references to "all we need is love". I think the only reference to homosexuality is in the song "Fever" when he sings the first line "There he goes" referring to a guy he's interested in…Gaga wrote the words, Adam just kept them as is. I might have missed something, but I've gone through reading the lyrics once looking for this slant and I remember being really impressed that he seemed go out of his way to create something universal with universal emotions and situations. Very smart to try to appeal to a bigger population. Rock and roll is very sexual, always has been, and this usually appeals to the frisky especially teenagers to whom most music is marketed. You didn't say how old your son is but eventually he'll become a teenager and maybe appreciate someone expressing what he might not feel comfortable expressing. He won't be comfortable expressing his sexuality to you as his mother! I understand why some people might feel uncomfortable and if I had a young son I would probably not buy him sexually explicit music, but for older kids and adults, like Adam says, we take sex way too seriously. In interviews he also constantly makes references to safe sex. Sex is normal and natural - it's only a problem when it's abusive or irresponsible. I think it must be hard being an Idol fan since this is a show purposely geared toward a G-rated audience using selected cover songs as performances then to have your favorite Idol break out and be himself. You'd think Idol producers would create CDs of just the individual idols and their selections for people to buy (I know you can download, but that's not the same.) I don't watch Idol. Adam attracted my attention when he got nasty on the AMAs. I appreciate a good rebellion.

The "Take One" CD is very non-sexual, but also incredibly boring, bland, most songs are monotone, poorly written and don't even sound like the Adam we know AND these immoral people are trying to make a fast buck off off Adam although he tried to get the CDs release stopped. Don't buy it.

Someday I think Adam will expand out to do more types of music styles that might be more to your liking and appeal to the person who posted the first message on this thread. He is capable of so much more. Even Justin Timberland recently told him to do Freddie Mercury covers…yeah!!! I think we will see a lot more in the future from our guy.

Having babbled aimlessly about sexuality in the above reply, I'm curious what you people think: Do you think it was necessary for Adam to come out about his sexuality or should he have just kept it private and left everyone to guess? I like his honesty and openness, but at the same time I'm thinking why should he have to label himself? And now the media is labeling him and he complained on Oprah he is now the "openly-gay singer" when in fact being gay isn't his profession. Would it have been a better publicity strategy to keep them guessing? It's not like most people didn't know he was gay but for some reason we want confessions. He said he didn't want to be like Clay Aiken…but why did Clay Aiken bother announcing anything? There are a lot of performers who are gay who don't advertise and those that do wait until their careers are well on their way or practically over. I like the idea they shouldn't have to…straight people don't have to make any claims so why should gay? "The straight President Obama" hahaha At the same time, I do like Adam's openness as it sets all kinds of precedent for others to come out "of the closet". But was it necessary and with the labeling, would it have been better if he kept it private as it's really no one's business? Does announcing he's gay get him more or better publicity? Can you tell I debate this with myself and haven't come to a conclusion? I'm wondering how others feel.

I don't know why people were guessing if he was gay or not.
I didn't watch AI last season but I did catch Adam one night, as I
was flipping through the channels. It was obvious to me that the kid
was gay. You had to be from another planet if you were not sure.
Nevertheless, I listened to him and thought, "This kid is going to win."
Well, we know how that went down.

I enjoy listening to Adam, whether it's listening to his album or watching him being interviewed. He is very entertaining. I don't care if he's gay or is sexual on stage, whatever! I've seen enough of the women who are blatantly sexual on stage and in videos, but that doesn't rattle anyone's cage. Because, it's mostly white heterosexuals, men and women who enjoy them. Morality doesn't even show it's head. Even gay people enjoy them.

However, Let a gay man be sexual and we all turn moral. How dare he show his sexual side! We would prefer that he does not. Why? Because it makes heterosexuals uncomfortable. It also makes some gays uncomfortable, especially those who like to keep a low profile so that the heterosexual world will accept them.

I wish Adam continued success and I hope all of you who are uncomfortable with him showing his sexuality, find another entertainer that you will feel comfortable listening to and watching.

Adam Lambert loves to push the envelope and I'm glad that he does.
He's an entertainer who is openly gay and if it shows in his performance, fine. I have no problem with it. I agree with Donatello about Fever. Yes, he sings "There HE goes…..", he's gay, so why would he want to sing "There SHE goes………." People are so uptight about Adam Lambert when there are so many other things they should be concerned with. Get over yourselves and leave him alone!

Erskay: So are you saying it was better publicity to announce he was gay? Or would have gotten more/better publicity not announcing? Is it better to be labeled the "openly-gay singer" or not to announce it and let everyone speculate?

As I said, I don't think there was much doubt he was gay, but he's now saying "It's all about the music" and he doesn't want the focus on the "openly-gay" label - but by announcing he's gay it took the focus off the music and on his sexuality. I think (don't know) his thinking was if he didn't announce the media would have focused on the speculation anyway and that would have gotten irritating as well. The more I think about it the more I'm coming to the conclusion either way the media would try to sensationalize it so I guess it wouldn't have mattered. He'd either be constantly hounded about being gay or constantly hounded about whether or not he would state it. If he hadn't "come out" in the media, I wonder how long they would have bothered before they just let it go? I think the media just loves anything that might sell so they exploit issues to get a rise whether or not they are real issues.

I know for a lot of people this discussion might not be interesting, but I majored in marketing in college so how Adam presents himself and the choices he's made in his career so far and their ramifications are fascinating to me.

For those of you posting that Adam Lambert is a disappointment, what do you want from the kid. Maybe he's just not for you. I love his performances, and I know lots of other who like him also. I drove my thirteen yr old granddaughter to NY for his concert on the 12th of Feb., and she's still floating. It was an experience she won't soon forget.

What exactly is it that you brainiacs are doing that give you the right to dissect Adam's career? Anybody on this forum that would pay attention to what you are saying could possibly be having a slow day.

There are plenty of entertainers of every genre out there if you don't like Adam, so you really shouldn't be on here posting your nonsense.

Adan needs fans who love him, build him up, and support him, and if you aren't going to be one of those people stay off the site.

He has to blaze his own path, and it won't be easy, but he's going to reach the top, and stay there, bet the farm on that.

For now it is what it is, and please take your whining somewhere else, and preach to someone who wants to hear negativity. On this site we keep POSITIVITY on MAX!  Could you please not come back with your long winded critiques.

Have a good day, now, yall hear.

Well said Jeffrey! I foking HATE these damn posers who blog shizz and don't think they will be called on it! ^5! Adam said he would do a dance/rock/pop/techno "fusion" and THAT is exactly what he delivered, Hazah! And I'm sure the "poser" thinks that the Indie rip-off, "Take One" was one of Adam's "releases", lmao! What a lameass! **Sigh** Guess it takes all kinds, lol. Thanks, "Q"
