The concert at Fantasy Springs was EPIC!! It was Adam Lambert’s FIRST full concert, and I feel so privileged to have been there! He had the most amazing presence when he walked out onto the stage. He tried to hold his “Rock God” persona at the end of his opening number For Your Entertainment, but after listening to the thundering response from over 3,500 screaming fans, his full-on Adam smile broke through and we knew he was touched.
Here are the videos from the night!!

Down The Rabbit Hole

I know fans are upset about the lack of play of Adam’s songs on the radio, and whether he’s included in some poll or not. I’ve even been reading some strong anti-Kris comments on our very own site. I hope we don’t have to sink so low (or is it solo?). As Ron Burgundy says, “stay classy Glambs!”

Minutes ago, Adam sent out a series of tweets regarding fans requesting his songs. I think we need to take our lead from him. Here’s what’s on his mind:

1st tweet @ 1:51 PM PST:
Happy New Year guys!! I love that you want to support my music and call in requests, but please be mindful of how often you do so…

2nd tweet @ 1:52 PM PST:
Open House Party is a great supporter of my songs, but when there is an organized group of fans calling stations nonstop,

3rd tweet @ 1:54 PM PST:
… It understandably upsets them. Stations can track over-use of requests and fraudulent requests and I would hate to lose their support.

4th tweet @ 1:56 PM PST:
I really appreciate your passion and dedication to getting my music on the radio, but don’t drive the stations crazy! :) thanks friends!

5th tweet @ 2:01 PM PST:
Woohoo!! Thanks to all who voted for the Z100 best new artist!! I’m honored :)

6th tweet @ 2:07 PM PST:
FYI. That doesn’t mean to stop requesting!! Just try not to do it 30 times in one day…. Just Cool it on the redial/resend kick. :)

7th tweet @ 2:08 PM PST:
Oh and so you all know, upon hearing this news, I laughed so hard. Y’all are nuts and I adore you for it. :)

We’re all counting down the “seconds, hours, so many days” until we have Adam’s still-untitled debut album in our hot little hands. In fact, you can keep your eye on the ticking countdown time on the right side of this web site to keep up- to-the-moment on the release. But there’s even more news - - now Adam’s beating not only The Beatles, but Madonna too! When Adam was sitting in Madonna’s living room months before Idol started, and he told her he loved her and was intimidated by her, her response was “so love equals intimidation to you?” Well Madonna, in your wildest imagination, did you ever think this young performer would be beating you in ANY category even before his first song had been heard???

AMERICAN IDOL” runner- up Adam Lambert is bigger than Madonna and even The Beatles.

Within hours of making his yet-to-be-released album available for pre-order on Amazon.com, a frenzy of ordering drove Lambert’s ranking all the way to No. 2 on the online retailer’s bestsellers list.

That put Lambert ahead of Madonna, The Beatles and world-wide sensation Susan_Boyle.

Lambert’s album won’t be released until Nov. 24. The only CD that out-ranked him yesterday was Barbra Streisand’s first new record in four years.

Sorry for the interruption, Carol here: ADAM IS NOW #1 ON THE SALES!!! 9/29/09 @ 4:17 PM PST.

The sky-rocket sales seem to indicate two things: that “Idol” packs an unprecedented punch in the music business and that Lambert, like Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry in past seasons, may quickly overshadow the singer who beat him in the final vote, Kris Allen.

“Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert’s first album won’t be released until Nov. 24.

Remarkably, Lambert’s record company, RCA, did not announce that it was taking pre-release orders. The sales were all propelled by word of mouth.

Lambert and his fellow Top 10 “Idols,” including Allen and 4th-place finisher Allison Iraheta wrapped up their “American Idols Live” tour a few weeks ago.

Fans, left without their daily fix, have been scouring the Internet for news of their “Idol” favorites.

It was during one of these searches, early Sunday morning, when a Lambert fan discovered that Adam’s album was available.

Within hours, word of the album’s availability on Amazon spread across the Internet. The online social networking site, Twitter, lit up with the news. Fans traveled from “Idol” blogs to Lambert fanboards to spread the word to other fans. Soon, the album, which has yet to be named, began climbing up the Amazon Bestsellers List.

By late Sunday afternoon, it hit No. 4. Later that evening, it peaked at No. 2.

Lambert has been working on his album with a slew of industry a-listers including Lady Gaga’s producer RedOne, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder and “Since U Been Gone” hit maker Max Martin.

The album has also made its way onto several critics’ “most anticipated” lists.

This is what we’ve all been waiting to hear!!

OK, I know that an inflammatory blog title like the one above might create an outcry not unlike the hubbub that ensued when the Beatles’ own John Lennon declared that the Beatles were bigger than God. But here’s a fact: Only a few hours after being listed on Amazon, Adam Lambert’s pre-orderable debut album is already at #2 on the site’s Bestsellers chart…above Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, fellow Simon Cowell-affiliated reality star Susan Boyle (whose own debut comes out the same day as Adam’s, November 24), and–yes–the Beatles.
Adam Lambert Pictures, Images and Photos

What makes this early sales feat especially impressive is the fact that no one (except for a few lucky industry insiders) have even heard any material from Adam’s album yet. While the buzz grows ever-buzzier with news of the album’s many interesting collaborators (Idol judge Kara Dioguardi, Green Day producer Rob Cavallo, Australian electro auteur Sam Sparro, glam-pop piano man Ferras, Swedish hitmaker Max Martin, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Lady Gaga producers RedOne and Claude Kelly, Nashville songwriter Aimee Mayo…the A-list goes on and on), and the hype surrounding possible lead single “Strut” is especially high, there’s been no Lambert single leaked online or previewed on the radio.

Conversely, American Idol winner Kris Allen’s first single, a catchy cover of the Script’s B-side track “Live Like We’re Dying,” has already premiered to largely positive reactions–but his own debut album, which comes out November 17, is still surprisingly only at #132 on the Amazon chart. While it’s safe to assume that Kris’s album will enjoy a stellar first sales week in November, and will probably even enter the Billboard chart at #1, it doesn’t seem to have the same pre-release buzz as Adam’s right now.

Clearly, Adam’s album is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2009. Some diehard fans have already ordered multiple copies. In fact, as of this writing, the only pop star Adam’s been unable to topple on the Amazon chart is Barbra Streisand…but hey, coming in second to the almighty Babs ain’t too shabby.

***UPDATED WITH THE PHOTO YOU’RE ALL TALKING ABOUT - ALSO PLEASE NOTE MY COMMENTS BELOW IN THREAD!*** There’s been a lot of speculation during the past few days about Adam’s first single and its release date. It has been rumored that the single will be a song titled “Strut,” co-written by Adam and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, to be released on October 12th, but the latest information as of September 18th is that this release information is wrong.

The single has NOT been officially announced yet.

It has also been leaked that a Rolling Stone reporter heard “Strut” and described it as “a Depeche Mode-meets-Queen self-empowerment anthem that highlights Lambert’s range.”

I know everyone’s hungry for news, but as always, we will have to wait for the official announcement. Whatever the single is, I know we’ll all LOVE it!!!

Here are the last two dance remixes. Okay - bad play on words. Sue me!! Adam Lambert Pictures, Images and Photos

I think we were all blown away on Disco Night. I’m sure most of us thought Adam was going to choose a fast-paced disco song and totally rock out. But he pulled his strategy move on us once again and gave us a tenderized version of “If I Can’t Have You.” Even Simon said he’d never heard it done like that before. Here is an enhanced drum version to pick up your day.

I’m finishing off the Dance Remix Series with denim27’s hot version of “Cryin’.” As we look forward to the release of Adam’s single in October and his album in November, we have a combination of all the Tour Videos and these Dance Remixes to keep us company. I think we’ve finally accepted that as much as Adam gives us of himself on stage, we still can’t have him!

Since this will be the last Dance Remix, I thought I’d give the links to all the remixes, for anyone who missed them earlier. My thanks to denim27 for a beautiful job on these. And thank you to our readers who have responed so enthusiastically and encouraged me to keep posting them! Rock on!!

I know many of you have been asking how to save songs and videos to your computer. Months before I started volunteering my time to this web site, I received some instructions for this. I muddled through and finally got Adam Lambert’s songs to download into my iTunes account. So after all the requests, I thought I’d publish the step-by-step directions so you can do this too.
Adam Lambert Pictures, Images and Photos
I’ll give you a little background story. Like many of you, I never thought about using an iPod or downloading music. After all, I have my entire music collection on vinyl, cassette and CD. What did I need a 4th version for? Plus, I like to buy the full CD and discover other tracks that are not played on the radio. I can see how handy it would be for the gym or for walks, but I can still use my 10 years old “strap-to-my-arm radio” and listen to my favorite morning show. And I still don’t see the need to shop through the grocery store or mall attached to a gadget. My stroller days are gone. I like to think my own thoughts and sometimes even have some peace and quiet. Can any of you relate?

Then along comes Adam. I did the YouTube searches and was so excited to hear his songs pre-Idol. But how could I keep them? Once he becomes a world-wide star, will he be releasing these older songs? I don’t think so. After listening to them enough times, you can tell they were from his beginner days. Adam’s even said they were like the poetry you would write in eighth grade. You’re proud of it at the time, but later you look back on it and you’re able to appreciate how far you’ve come. Soon after I discovered those wicked videos from The Zodiac Club and the Upright Cabaret. I wanted those songs and videos, but had no idea how to save them. At about the same time, American Idol had progressed far enough into the season that the contestants’ songs were now available on iTunes. We had an iTouch iPod sitting around from when we bought my son’s computer for college the summer before. Since he already had a video iPod with much more storage, he said I could have it. Thanks hon, but I really don’t know what I’d do with it. See paragraph #2. Ah-ha! Now I have something to use that iPod for. Zip, zip, zip – with some patient teaching by my son, all of Adam’s songs and videos from American Idol were now at my fingertips. Wow, what an energizing rush that was. Better than all those $30 bottles of Olay anti-age serum!

On other forums, people were asking how to download and keep the music from YouTube. A wonderful person responded giving some basic directions and I had my answer. I was able to easily download the songs, and somehow they “magically” went into my iTunes account without me having to designate that as the place to hold them. But after 3-4 days, they disappeared. So I downloaded them again, but this time burned them to a CD so I could have them in my car and forever, just in case Big Brother was going to yank them out of my computer again. I figured since this wasn’t something I paid for, maybe someone at YouTube was searching for the downloads and was yanking them away, like mom taking away the candy we weren’t supposed to be eating. I told you regarding this type of thing, I was a techie neophyte!

To answer this vanishing song problem, I must thank web site Administrator Lila Hayes for giving me the final pieces to the puzzle. Lila is so knowledgeable about all this techie stuff and helps me out every time I ask. She pointed out that there were no gremlins living inside my computer. Instead, I needed to create a folder to hold them. They had been loading into a Temporary file, and like all temporary things, disappeared after a few days. Mystery solved.

So, enough chit-chat! Here’s how to do it. I must tell you this is for PCs. I have no idea about Macs.

First, you need to create a folder to hold these songs, so they don’t disappear. Right click on your Desktop. Click New; Folder. Name this folder. I called mine Music. Brilliant, I know. I’ve even created sub-folders named Adam Lambert and General. Can’t live on a diet of Adam alone, can we? Don’t answer that!!

Command prompts are in bold.

Now you can make your own Adam Lambert CD. Find your favorite picture of Adam. Print it and cut it to fit in a CD jewel case.  You can even print up a list of songs to put on the back side. It will look great, I promise. Here’s Adam signing my CD at the Homecoming! That’s me in the sunglasses. Thanks again to Lila for taking this priceless picture!!

If you think you’ve heard Mad World before, you ain’t heard nothin’ yet! Thank you Glambs for waiting so patiently for the latest in the incredible remixes of Adam’s songs. adam-lambert.org is excited to reward you with a triple present!

Here are not one, not two, but three versions to add to your viewing and listening pleasure. The first two are more great dance remixes, and the third is an incredible view into how beautifully Adam’s voice will translate as accompaniment on movie soundtracks. It is the emotional piece from Donnie Darko when Mad World is so effectively used to tell the story. Just listen to the connection Adam’s voice makes.

Thank you denim27 for the brilliance on the first two dance remixes.

Adam Lambert performing Mad World during the Finale Top 2 Performance night. HQ Video, Studio Mp3, Article and pictures below.

Simon’s comment was absolutely unfair, trying to link back ‘theatrics’ again when he gave him a standing ovation in the past for this same performance. This was the perfect song choice because it still appeals to voters, especially new voters or undecided voters.

Personally, I have issues listening to this song in the past because the lyrics are so powerful that really makes you think about the people who run in circles in life, going nowhere, no goals, no ambition, their life is just a constant useless routine… and it is just… a very sad but true story.

The intro on this video is definitely worth seeing, with Adam’s parents telling how the story of how he was a ‘loud’ baby.

Adam Lambert sings Crying by Aerosmith as the Personal pick this week. High Quality Video and MP3 below. Pictures below the video.

Comments on this performance. Adam said that he wasn’t going to steer to much away from it. I wish he wouldn’t have said that. He completely did his own version. The beginning started really rough because he was thrown off by the background singers. The reason why that didn’t work out is because they weren’t harmonizing with him.

The second half, however, was BRILLIANT. Completely his own spin. That’s how to sing an Aerosmith song Danny Gokey.

Simon was absolutely right on target with his comment. People assume that the contestant has done so well that he is safe and they don’t vote and then we get a big surprise the next day.

Adam does rock like Led Zeppelin, Pop like Michael Jackson and Techno like… only Adam can.

Can’t wait to see the type of record he releases, I hope is a combination of all styles and not just Pop.

Here is a version of Donnie Darko’s trailer featuring Adam Lambert’s Mad World. AMAZING.

Adam Lambert ‘Play that Funky Music’ Video in High Quality. Studio MP3 available on the sidebar. Another week where Adam Lamberts gets top reviews from the judges. Instead of hitting a high note at the end he went up and down and up through the whole scale without missing a note. Best performance of the night along with Kris.

Be sure to turn the volume up for the video below.

Ring of Fire High Quality Video and MP3 (below). Adam is on FIRE, another HOT performance tonight, true to who he is as an artist and not afraid to take risks. A very creative, current, unique, revolutionary and sexy version of ‘Ring of Fire’ using a middle eastern scale. Ring of Fire is a country music song popularized by Johnny Cash and co-written with his wife June Carter. This was personally my FAVORITE Adam Lambert’s performance vs. Black or White and Satisfaction. To me this is one of those catchy songs that you just can’t get out of your head once you hear it a couple of times.

Matt Giraud - So Small (played piano)
Scott MacIntyre - I recognized his song, but for the life of me I can’t
remember the name of it. (played piano)
Michael Sarver - Ain’t Goin’ Down Till the Sun Comes Up
Allison Iraheta - Blame It on Your Heart
Kris Allen - To Make You Feel My Love (sat on a stool)
Lil Rounds - Independence Day
Danny Gokey - Jesus, Take the Wheel (partial standing O)
Alexis Grace - Jolene
Anoop - You Were Always on My Mind

FINALLY… my personal comments:

First off, I’m a studio musician and I’ve been a musician for 13 years. Like a lot of people would objectively agree, the music industry in general has been at its lowest since 2004. With ‘lowest’ I (we) mean poor melodic composition and songwriting, no uniqueness/originality, technique, lack of connection and less passion in delivery.

As a musician I feel this is driven mainly the struggles a musician must endure to make a living, the mainstream media and how many ’sell out’ artists make it in the business. Musicians making music to make sure it sells, instead of to make sure is a phenomenal melodic composition that connects with people. There are other factors but that’s beyond the scope of this forum.

Beyond Adam Lambert being good looking and his image (well, I’m a straight male), I’m really a fan of Adam Lambert’s art. I TRULY believe in him as an artist. For me, tonight with ‘Ring of Fire,’ he showed how willing he is to take risks, stay true to himself despite all the pressure and to even push his own boundaries. I thought his performance was very catchy and simply BRILLIANT.

While I found myself today watching ‘Black’ for the 100th time in a Pearl Jam concert (where the singer tries hard not to cry because he is so connected to the lyrics of his song), or listening to the Beatles, Led Zeppellin, Pink Floyd, and many of the bands that American Idol praises, I actually think that the music industry is just starting to make a huge come back and people like Adam Lambert are leading the way.

Yes, it is rebellious and it feels like another music revolution.

Cheers to the future of classic: ADAM LAMBERT.

Thanks for hearing me out

This song shows how far Adam is able to stretch his music style from Pop to Glam to Alternative Rock. With some work (like adding harmonies) this could be a very good song:
