This is a fantastic, laid back, and funny interview where Adam also happens to look absolutely gorgeous.
There are the usual questions that he always answers and then there are some fun things as well.
First he tells a lady in the audience, that wants to “change” him, that he won’t be changed by HER unless she’s hiding something under her skirt!!! Unfortunately for her, she isn’t hiding anything and is out of luck.
He is also asked by a gay man, if he would be willing to re-enact the onscreen kiss from the AMA’s and when Adam declines, people start making some noise to which he yells, “I am not a whore”. All in good fun, of course.
Take a few minutes and relax by watching this video…

Here it is, a behind the scene look at the filming of If I Had You.
Adam touches on the songs meaning, love, and how without that, the other stuff doesn’t matter. Regardless of your color, religion, age, or sexuality, we can all love together… and party in the woods, lol.
Which is why he then chose to surround himself with the people that he loves for this video, what a concept. It certainly will show in the final product, and I cannot wait to see it. With the dance moves he is rocking in that clip, it cannot be here fast enough…

Check out our behind-the-scenes look at “American Idol” alum Adam Lambert making his brand-new music video!
Adam puts in a hard day’s work — four costume changes included — shooting his video for “If I Had You,” the third single off his top-selling album, For Your Entertainment from RCA Records/19 Recordings.
“The theme of this video today is, quite basically, no matter how much money you posses or material things you accrue in life, if you don’t have a connection and love, it’s worthless,” Adam says.
The 28-year-old pulls out all the stops for his knock-out new video, rocking black eyeliner, black nail polish, and some seriously high platform boots.
“We’re in full hi-ho Silver glam… And cracked out on Red Bull!” he laughs. “So it’s the beginning of a great party.”
Next up for the “American Idol” runner-up? His first headlining tour this summer, “The Glam Nation Tour.”

Meat Loaf last released an album in 2006 — Bat Out of Hell Three — and since then contemplated retirement. But apparently he wasn’t done yet and today he releases Hang Cool Teddy Bear, an album that he says had no grand plan. “It was never thought out. Everybody just sat back and let it happen, let it reveal itself.” Among those joining Meat on the album are Queen guitarist Brian May, actor-musician Jack Black, Switchfoot and American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert.

I also have included an audio of Meatloaf’s praise for Adam, where he admits that he is a self proclaimed Adam Lambert groupie!!
I am really looking forward to hearing Adams contribution to this. What about you guys?

Adam Lambert Announces Glam Nation Tour Dates
Lambert will hit the road in June with Orianthi and Allison Iraheta for his summer tour.
By Jocelyn Vena
via:mtv.com
The Lambert Army will finally get a chance to check out Adam Lambert live when he kicks off his Glam Nation Tour on June 4 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. For the trek, he’ll be bringing along fellow “American Idol” alum Allison Iraheta and guitarist Orianthi.
While most of the announced tour stops in support of his For Your Entertainment album take place in June, more summer dates will be added. The tour winds up on September 18 in St. Petersburg, Florida, with stops all over the country in between.
“I hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement,” Lambert said in a press release. “And I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album.”
While he already knows what it’s like to share the stage with Iraheta, he’s excited to be bringing Orianthi along for the tour. “I was lucky enough to work with Orianthi on the ‘Sleepwalker’ track on my album,” he said. “She is a killer guitarist and a great vocalist. I’m so excited to be sharing the stage with her.”
“I am such a fan of Allison’s music and I am so excited for her to perform it live in front of an audience,” Adam added about his pal Iraheta. “We have such a great brother-and-sister energy, having shared the stage both on ‘American Idol’ and on the tour [last] summer. She is pure rock and roll.”
So, what should fans expect from the show? Lambert teased that it’s very theatrical in nature and that he wants his costumes to be very “cutting-edge.” “I hope to use some special-effects lighting,” Lambert explained. “The Glam Nation Tour is going to be very theatrical. People won’t be let down in the glam department; it’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to.”

~adamlambert~Thank you to everyone for making Whataya Want from Me #10 on the BIllboard Hot 100 and the Remixes are at #1 on the Hot Dance Singles!
~adamlambert~Hey guys!!
prepping for big UK and Europe trip! Damn volcano kept us from leaving this past Sunday… But looks like we are all set now.
Adam Lambert got a huge bump from his American Idol appearance Wednesday, nearly doubling his week-to-week tracks sales for Whataya Want From Me, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Whataya Want From Me topped 100,000 for the week, pushing him into the top 10 of SoundScan’s Top Digital Tracks chart. That puts Adam at 964,000 total downloads, putting 1 million within easy reach for next week.

***ADDITION: SEE BELOW*****
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be in the audience for one of the American Idol tapings? Well, Glamb Leader Lila Hayes and I were lucky enough to get tickets for the April 14th taping, the one with Adam Lambert singing! I’m still breathing hard and can’t believe our luck!! You all know Lila, she’s my partner in crime for ATA – All Things Adam.
After realizing we were going the day that Adam would be there, we left San Diego bright and early, hoping we’d be in the front of the line. The emailed confirmation says admission is not guaranteed, and that it is for standing room only. We figured maybe they overbook and give out more tickets than they have room for, to guarantee a full house? Maybe that’s the reason they state admission is not guaranteed? I don’t have an official answer, but I have my theory, which will be answered later. Depending on the day you’re attending, you’re told what time to arrive by. We had a 4:15 report time for the 6 PM taping. Being cautious, we arrived at 12:30 PM and the line was already 20 strong, mostly wearing black and leather! We made friends with those standing in front and back of us and found out that people had flown in from all over the country for this show. We knew the amount of people in front of us could increase if not everyone in their parties were present. When you register for tickets and you get your response email, you have a choice of 3 links to click on for tickets. The Tuesday Dress Rehearsal, Tuesday Live Performance Show or Wednesday Live Results Show. If you’ve responded to that email quickly enough (about an hour maximum response time!), you’ll be able to then select the number in your party, up to 4. The day of the show, all people in your party must be present to enter – no late arrivals. By 4 PM, the line had grown to about 100.
At our 4:15 PM entrance time, we were led to two sitting areas just outside the studio entrance door, for about 45 minutes. We had to turn in our cameras, cell phones and iPods to the security team, so we’ve got no pictures to share with you, only memories. We were given fabric stickers with the Idol logo and were told to put them below our waist, so they wouldn’t be seen on camera. We saw the cute young girls had a “G” marked on their stickers by the “evaluators.” We were sure they would be the ones in the mosh pits to the sides of the judges. At this time, we also saw a large number of people who had actual hard tickets, not just emails like the rest of us had. Hmmmm. I went up to a couple of these ticket holders and asked how they got their tickets. It turned out they were the “friends of Fox and friends of the sponsors.” It was amazing how many of them there were! They were brought into the studio first, which only left about 40 of us. We were now not feeling so certain about getting in. I think this is why they say admission not guaranteed. Maybe they have no idea how many “friends” are showing up?? I was now convinced our early arrival was the only way to go.
After we gained entrance to the studio, Lila and I looked around quickly to try and find a great seat. The studio is filled with seats so I have no idea why the email says “standing room only?” Luckily someone was saying “ladies, come this way.” We weren’t sure if they were talking to us or the ones in front of us, but once we saw that they were being directed to the standing mosh pit, we jumped alongside of them. Lila and I looked at each other with our eyes wide open saying “do we want to be standing here or sitting down?” Very strange considering she and I had just returned a few days earlier from Phoenix, where we went for our second Muse concert. (For Muse, we will only consider having the standing floor tickets. We had been at the Las Vegas concert a few months earlier and all the jumping with the crowd that was smashed up against us had us fearing for our safety, but it was a high like no other!) Sorry, I’m off subject! We quickly saw that only the high side seats were open, so of course we now became 20 years younger in our minds, glued ourselves to the floor and hugged each other, not believing our incredible good fortune. The 20-something girls were in the front and luckily they were short! We were about 3 rows behind them. We were on the Randy Jackson side of the stage, about 10 feet away from where the contestants would be sitting! OMG!!! Forget the contestants, we couldn’t believe we’d be seeing Adam from there too!!! I made it a point to start taking everything in and commit it to picture memory. Everything we’ve been seeing at home from our couches for 9 years now. The red contestant seats, the judges table and chairs, the American Idol signs up in the air, the stairs where Adam strutted down singing Feeling Good! OMG – I couldn’t believe how lucky we were.
Quickly everything started happening. The lights went down, the familiar music started, our hearts started beating harder, and then we heard Ryan with his introduction. You know, the famous one that ends “this . . . is American Idol!” The lights came up and he was walking down those stairs that Adam owns now, and introduced all four judges. You know, you all watched the show. Now I have absolutely no allegiance to anyone on the show this year. In fact, last year I vowed that I wouldn’t pick up the phone once this year. And I’m certainly not getting another AT&T Go Phone, like I did for the final month of voting last season. I’m sure it’s the same for many of you. We’ve all said that we knew from this point last year that Idol would never be the same. Adam has ruined it! No one will ever come close to having his talent, looks and charisma. You know – the “It” factor. Even Adam said it during his brilliant mentoring sessions. The contestants need to wake up! But somehow, being only a few feet away from the remaining 9, I started to see more in them. Being that close, they became real people. They have real emotions, real feelings, and are all nervous, trying to establish themselves in show business. I could see subtle changes in their facial expressions and how they carried themselves as they listened to comments about them and while they endured the results.
During the commercials, we were able to talk with the judges and the contestants. A day before the taping, I had an email that Tim Urban was following me on Twitter. So, Tim was on the seat closest to our mosh pit, only about 5 feet away. I called to him, and he immediately looked at me and stood up and came over to talk with me. I told him I had just gotten an email saying he was following me on Twitter, and he broke into a big “Tim Urban smile.” He told me they had taken all of their Twitter accounts away and someone is impersonating him. I told him I had read about them not using their own Twitter accounts and I wasn’t surprised, but that I just thought it was funny! He gave me a big smile and I wished him luck, and he’s now become a favorite of mine. I know he doesn’t sing as well as Crystal or Lee or Big Mike or Casey . . . but heck, he smiled at me!!!
Watching Aaron walk on stage to get his verdict, I thought he didn’t look well. Even with all the makeup, he still seemed pale. When he was declared “safe” and went back to the contestants area, he looked no better. During the next commercial, Lee was sitting in the closest seat so I called to him and asked if Aaron was okay. He turned around to look at him, and then he turned back to me and said “he’s nervous.” Wow, to still be so affected even after he was “safe.” His youth started shooting out at this point, and I thought about my son who was his age only a few years ago. Instead of a polished performer who put himself out there to be judged, in my mind he then became as close as a “neighbor’s son” – someone you looked after when your friend needed help. I guess what I’m trying to say is I won’t be so judgmental with my comments about this year’s gang. Even though, in my eyes they will professionally never be as good as Adam, they became real that afternoon.
Okay, now I’m going to try to describe what happened next; the reason so many of us were there. During the break, they brought out the microphone stands, keyboards and drums and Monte, Longineu and Tommy came out. Tommy walked over to our side and waved. I’m sure Camilla was there, but we couldn’t see her on the other side. The lights went down, Ryan started talking, and we started screaming. It was obvious how much of the audience was there strictly because of whom else was there that day! The fog started to fill the entire stage and the cone light began beaming down. The music began. The light shone upon Adam’s face and he looked so incredibly magical singing from within the lace print of the fog and lights. Oh that voice. It was perfect, perfect, perfect. Here I was, seeing Adam sing Whattaya Want From Me for the third time in four months. And no two times were ever the same. Lila and I were at the Leno taping in December, Fantasy Springs in February, and now Idol. I have to say, this was my favorite version! Then the strength of the song broke out and the lasers started. You could see the joy in his eyes. He was so into the emotion of the song, careful not to betray his commitment with a smile. He came over to our side and kneeled down with his hand out. Just like when he sang Black or White last year and went to the mosh pit, put his hand out and laughed while he was singing. I wonder if he was thinking about that too? I’ve read comments from him about how great it was to be back on the same stage, like he was home. I wondered if he was reliving any of his past moments on stage? Then he started singing “thanks for loving me” and he smiled so genuinely, knowing he was thanking everyone present for helping him realize his dreams. He ended the song with such a dramatic note, that I wondered if he did it purposely to slam Simon with it! It makes you wonder, why is it okay for an established singer to use the lights, fog and lasers, but not a contestant trying to show they’re the one to pick for stardom?
My only wish was that after singing, the judges would give their comments on him! Oh to hear them rave about him would have made it full circle for so many of us, Adam included! But I’m sure Simon would have said something about the fog and lasers! In fact, when the show was over, Simon walked in front of our mosh pit on his way out, and he shook hands and spoke briefly with several people. Not being shy, I called out “Simon, what did you think of Adam’s performance?” He looked at me and said he “thought it was great. But I couldn’t see it with all the fog.” I added, “not too theatrical for you?” He laughed.
As an added bonus, we were held in the studio for two more hours after the show was over. They had to film some sequences that they’ll be showing on the Idol Gives Back show this week. There’s a part where Russell Brand and Jonah Hill will be at the phone banks, talking to Ryan about the celebrities they have answering phones and taking donations. Well, they’re comments were pre-filmed, so Ryan had to insert his part in the conversation. This took many starts and stops, leaving Ryan turning to us and taking questions and making wisecracks, filling the gaps of time. I love Ryan! He is such an accomplished professional and does such a great job. This began about 30 minutes after the show taping ended. Did you notice in the filmed interview with Adam “the next day” on Ryan’s radio show, that they’re wearing the same clothes as on the show? Ryan with his shirt and tie, and Adam in that incredible silver jacket, tie and “let me stare at your beautiful face” make up? We now think during this 30 minute gap, they were doing the interview. Then they started tearing down the stage, and Ryan thanked us for hanging around, saying they had one more bit they needed to do that our presence was required for. After the stage was set, Lady Antebellum came out and performed a full rehearsal and 2 full performance versions of their hit, Need You Now. This was indeed a very lucky day!
***JUST ADDED****
As soon as I submitted this, I checked my email and there was something from Idol Gives Back. It seems they didn’t sell enough seats, and are giving out tickets for tomorrow’s performance! You have to have the special code to get these tickets, and it’s nontransferrable or I’d include it here for you westerners!
So Lila and I are hitting the road again, sooner than we thought. They say it may be a seat filler, so you may not sit with your group, and may have to move a few times. But then they say many times you see the whole show from the same seat. When I went online to look for tickets yesterday, there were a lot of seats available in the orchestra section. They were asking $200 for them. In this economy, that obviously isn’t flying! Maybe Adam will be there afterall, since the ash kept him from flying to the U.K. and scheduled performers can’t fly here?! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!
******************************
We finally left the studio at 9 PM, starving. Lila and I had a great dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, still bubbling about our great fortune. We never stopped talking about it for the 3 hour drive home. After watching our DVRs closely the next day to see any glimpses of ourselves on camera to prove we were there, we have to say you’ll just have to take our word for it! I think I saw myself from the back for 3 seconds, jumping up and down clapping for Adam after he finished singing. And I did see 2 seconds of Lila’s right arm in her cool bronze-colored jacket!
If we find out that Adam is going to be on Idol again, I’m sure we’ll be in our car, bright and early again, ready for another great adventure!

Adam Lambert Picks His ‘American Idol’ Favorites, Plans Another Visit
‘I hope to come back for the finale,’ he tells MTV News.
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Kelly Marino
via:mtvnews.com
After spending a week as a guest mentor on “American Idol,” Adam Lambert learned a few things about this year’s crop of contestants. First and foremost, he wasn’t all that shocked to see Katie Stevens and Andrew Garcia get the boot after the pair turned in “sleepy” performances.
“You know, I think at this point in the competition, it comes down to ‘Do you want to be there, or do you not want to be there?’ ” Lambert told MTV News on the red carpet of the GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday in Los Angeles. “You’ve got to step it up, get some caffeine going. They were a little sleepy.”
Secondly, he already has a favorite to win the season-nine crown — or, more specifically, four favorites. He also thinks everyone should start packing lasers, like he did for his performance of “Whataya Want From Me” on “Idol.”
“There’s some amazing voices this year. I think Crystal [Bowersox], Casey [James], Lee [Dewyze] and Michael [Lynche], for me, those four really stand out as authentic, pure, amazing vocals,” he said. “But everyone was really sweet and really friendly and really receptive. I had a great time mentoring, and I had a really good time putting on my laser show. I got lasers! I was so excited. I was like a little kid.”
And since he had such a great time on the show, Lambert said he hopes he can make another appearance during the season-nine finale. He wanted to show up for this week’s “Idol Gives Back” event, but his schedule won’t allow it.
“I hope to come back for the finale. Unfortunately, I’m going to be gone for ‘Idol Gives Back,’ ” he said. “I leave this Sunday. I’m going to be in Europe for three weeks, promoting my album. … It comes out in the U.K. at the end of the month, and I’m so excited to see how it does over there.

I am laughing at my computer because spell check is having trouble with the word everlovin’, hahaha!! I’m not sure that I can say I have EVER had to use words, like the one’s I use now, to describe Adam. He has certainly glittered up my articles, that is a given. I now present to you, another glowing review from EW.com:
ENJOY:
‘American Idol’: Adam Lambert completely blew my everlovin’ mind (on the scene for results night)
by Adam B. Vary
Categories: American Idol, Music, On the Scene, Reality TV, Television, Things That Are Awesome!

Adam-Lambert-IdolImage Credit: Frank Micelotta/Fox
Fans of my snark demon Smirkelstiltskin will be sorely disappointed to learn that he will not be appearing in this on-the-scene recap of last night’s American Idol results show (after this paragraph, anyway). Smirkel had such high hopes for it, too, given that the very first sign we saw upon entering the Idoldome said “CT hearts Katie!” (like, the very same CT from The Real World Paris, and The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno, and The Inferno II, and The Duel, and The Inferno III, and The Gauntlet 3, and The Duel 2? That CT? Who knew he was such a fan of reality competition shows?). But then Adam Lambert took to the stage, delivering by miles the best live guest performance I’ve seen on an Idol results show ever in the history of awesome. Alas, Smirkel became so enraptured by Glambert’s laser-light tornado that he let one of the green laser beams hit him square in his third eye. He’s currently convalescing inside Randy Jackson’s belly button lint trap.
Suffice it to say, Glambert completely blew my everloving mind last night, and judging from the deafening roars from the live audience before, during, and after his performance of “Whataya Want from Me,” I’d say I was far from alone. Unlike the horrid group numbers, which are exponentially more horrid in person, in large part because they are choreographed for the cameras and not the studio audience, Glambert constructed his number as much (if not more) for those of us inside Idoldome as those of you watching from home. For one thing, as cool as those lasers looked on TV, they had true dimension and shape in person (in other words, they were in 3D!). For another, the music simply sounded big and gorgeous live, a perfect sonic match for the visual spectacle. Unfortunately, both the live show and the televised version were hobbled by a way over-zealous fog machine; I’d love to tell you what the Idols and judges made of Glambert’s show, but all that smoke utterly obscured them from view.
Oh, that’s right, this was a results show, not a Glambert concert. You could’ve been forgiven for thinking it was the latter, though. A completely unscientific visual survey of the audience counted at least as many pro-Glambert posters as ones for all the other current Idol hopefuls combined. And the mere sight of Glambert during the show’s Dramatic! Opening! Video! Montage! sent the audience into conniptions.
Yes, of course, the Idoldome crowd also had some love for the judges — especially Ellen DeGeneres, who was greeted like a minor rock star herself — as well as the Top 9, although as they scattered around the stage to their places for the group number, they all appeared far too nervous to really acknowledge the adulation. All save for Tim Urban, who really couldn’t be happier to be anywhere else, or to be anyone else, for that matter. Right before they began their lip-synced desecration of the Elvis Presley catalogue, Grinning Timmy even smashed it out with Big Mike, coaxing the new father into the rare non-stankified facial expression.
After the group number, we entered the ad break, and Simon was surprisingly the first judge to welcome Elliott Yamin. The Idols were placed on the velvet benches of doom, and Ryan walked in while singing the single word “Viva!” over and over, but otherwise, in stark contrast to Tuesday night, the host appeared well-rested and was well behaved. As Ryan went around shaking every Idol’s hand and wishing them well, Debbie started fanning an overheated Big Mike’s big head. Mike soon began fanning himself with his hat, until finally a make-up person had to blot the dude’s face with some paper towel. Goodness, lip-syncing can be such exhausting work.
Just as we were about to come back from the break, I noticed Lee Dewyze sitting cross-legged on the benches, and for some reason I desperately wished he’d stayed seated like that. Perhaps it would’ve put poor Lee in a more zen state of mind for the wrenching events that were about to unfold. As it was, after Lee’s bestest buddy ever Andrew Garcia was 86?d from the show, Lee clearly had no idea what to do with himself. After Andrew’s farewell song (during which all the Idols clapped along, except for Big Mike), Lee hung far back as the rest of the contestants swarmed Andrew for the customary bear hug goodbye. Then the judges approached Andrew for their habitual final words of encouragement, and Lee began nervously pacing across a small patch of the stage, as if he realized that his own chance at a farewell moment with Andrew was quickly slipping by him. Lee’s eyes became fixed on the judges, willing them to just speed it up already, for chrissakes.
Eventually, though, the demands of live television intervened, and Debbie had to move all the remaining Idols back to the benches. She gently placed Lee on the last spot next to Siobhan, where he looked like a boy who’s watching his best friend from down the street move away and no one will give him a chance to say good-bye. Finally, Debbie took Andrew in hand to lead the newly axed Idol off stage; seeing his opportunity, Lee intercepted them, but it everything just came out all wrong. Lee sorta half fell into his bro-hug with Andrew, awkwardly forcing his buddy backwards a few steps, and it looked like they barely had time to get out a few cursory words before Debbie wrenched Andrew away for good. Even with Ellen taking the time to talk to Andrew’s wife in the audience, it was just not enough for Lee, not by a long shot. With Andrew gone, he slumped back down onto his seat, occasionally sharing his bitter discontent with the remaining Idols, who could do nothing to mend Lee’s broken heart and so glumly stared off into the middle distance instead.
And that’s how they all remained, from the Idol Gives Back package with Elliott and Kara, through Brooke White and Justin Gaston last-minute duet of Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream.” With my snark demon in recovery, I have nothing to really share with you about this performance, other than the only Idol to show any real engagement with it was, yes, Tim Urban, who managed to tap his left foot to the beat through most of the song. Through my entire life, one of my mother’s unrelenting mantras as been ”attitude is everything,” and good grief does Tim follow that aphorism with single-minded enthusiasm. Even after he was bottom three’d, Tim practically ambled off the stage with Big Mike and Katie, his perfect grin splashed effortlessly across his face.
As the crew loaded in Glambert’s equipment with clockwork efficiency, Siobhan clasped her hands together tightly, almost doubled over in her seat, and MamaSox gave Lee a warm hug. The audience was so keyed up for their promised dose of Glambert that some began wildly cheering when one of his band mates stepped onto the stage. When the real Glambert finally appeared with about 15 seconds to go before air, the place became unmoored, and I’ll be darned if Glambert didn’t look totally humbled by the sheer tonnage of adulation.
After he finished performing, Debbie brought Tim, Mike, and Katie back out into the wings, and I realized that they had apparently missed the chance to see Glambert perform live. Ryan threw to commercial, and all eight remaining Idols made a bee-line for Glambert, along with Kara and Randy. Simon left the stage immediately, waving his hand in front of his face as if bothered by the saturation of smoke in the air — kinda ironic since, according to Seacrest, Simon uses practically every ad break to steal away a chance to smoke.
We came back from the break, Ryan told Tim to smile, told Mike he was safe and not even in the bottom three, and told Katie her Idol journey was at an end. As she delivered a shaky, humanizing “Let It Be,” Debbie got the entire audience to clap along merely by miming clapping to the beat from the extreme stage left edge of the Idoldome. This woman could lead a small army if she wanted to.
Out of nowhere, Andrew appeared again on stage, and before anyone had a chance to blink, Lee had zipped himself by his BFF’s side, wrapping one arm around him, beaming with genuine relief and great pleasure at the second chance to say goodbye. Then Andrew and Katie’s Idol journeys began unspooling on the Thunderscreen, and the reality proved too much for Lee, who once again separated himself from the rest of the group, choosing to nervously fidget in solitude instead. Katie, meanwhile, just buried her face into Casey James’ chest. After the show was officially over, in fact, Katie proceeded to bury her face in the chest of anyone willing to match her two-arms-slapped-tightly-around-your-back embrace (e.g., not Simon).
Finally, after much lingering, especially on the part of Katie and the judges, Debbie cleared the stage for two post-show taped performances. The second, by Lady Antebellum, I did not get to see, as the first, a comedy bit for Idol Gives Back, took a whopping 45 minutes to complete, and I desperately needed to eat. The skit in question featured Russell Brand and Jonah Hill (coincidentally, the stars of this June’s Get Him to the Greek), in a pre-taped bit in which they pretend to head up a celebrity Idol Gives Back call in center and banter with Seacrest back at the Idoldome. Last night, Ryan had to pre-tape his side of that dialogue, but it doesn’t really matter whether that makes any sense or not, since Ryan himself put it best once he was done: “I don’t know how I’m going to look good [in this skit].”
What does matter was the disarmingly charming way Seacrest entertained the audience while the Idol crew sorted out their complicated technical concerns. He commiserated about craving chicken stir fry, and how funny it would be for the entire audience to flash mob a Whole Foods for dinner. He took audience questions: Yes, he wears a new suit every week. Yes, “I do date girls,” though not for very long. He is 5? 8? (“and three-quarter inches with shoes!”), but he does not wear lifts — although one unnamed Idol judge apparently does. His preferred scent is Thallium cologne. And then there was this: “Do I watch…what’s The Soup? I like Joel McHale. He’s my friend. I give him enough material, don’t I? Joel McHale walks my dog.”
At this point, both Ryan and Debbie grew impatient with waiting, and started bickering like old marrieds:
Ryan: [to audience] Have you met my wife, Debbie?
Debbie: Oh that would last about two seconds.
Ryan: [to Debbie] Are you married now?
Debbie: No, I’m not, a——.
Ryan: [to audience] You have to understand, Debbie and I have worked together almost every day for ten years, and—
Debbie: He can be annoying.
Ryan: She calls it annoying, I call it charming. [Begins singing] “Whadaya want from me?!”
Debbie: Your blood.
Priceless. Absolutely priceless.

Rock god Adam Lambert schools and scorches ‘American Idol’!!

TV Review: Adam Lambert’s performance of “Whataya Want From Me” on American Idol
By Robbie Woliver/www.examiner.com
Adam Lambert, the runner-up of American Idol Season 8—and to be completely factual, the most talented and certainly most exciting contestant ever to appear on the show—returned this week to mentor this year’s stable of contestants. His appearance was a major success for the struggling show, which has seen its viewership drop and has encountered much bad press of late about the very disappointing group vying for the title that even the brilliant Lambert didn’t win. He garnered high ratings the same way he drew millions during his reign, but yet his appearance was a terrible blow to the show. It only further made it perfectly clear that no one this year was even near his league, except for Crystal Bowersox. No, her performance style is hardly as thrilling as Lambert’s, nor is she as innovative, but she sure as hell can sing. As for the others, Lambert’s advice to them before he even picked up a microphone was more exciting than their performances.
In our previous review of Lambert’s mentor night, it was discussed how Adam shamed the final nine just by showing up. He was on fire, and wanted to shake some life into the group, ready to stir up a languid couple of months and some god-awful performers.
Wednesday night, as Glambert took the stage to sing, he owned the moment and performed unquestionably the best four minutes of this entire yawnfest of a season. Considering this week’s theme, Lambert was the Maybelline Elvis, all eyeliner, 8-inch-high, coal-black pompadour, sharp-looking metallic jacket and a voice that could wake the dead. He was commanding, forceful, mastering every note known to man. He was sexy. Intense. He was everything a superstar should be. He was this generation’s King.
With green lasers shooting in his direction and hypnotic green-smoke special effects, Lambert swooned through the slowed down start of “Whataya Want From Me,” his current hit, and built to that familiar, dramatic crescendo that had us enthralled only a year ago. Remember this past Tuesday when Siobhan, the Adam wannabe (she’s not, by far), started her “Suspicious Minds” so slow and then built the second half ending with her predictable screech? Well, that’s not how Adam did it. Siobhan, take a lesson.
The song itself is wonderful. Written by Pink and Max Martin, it was released at the most opportune, though perhaps unscheduled, time for the then-fledgling star. Anticipation was high for Lambert’s first live post-Idol appearance, and the American Music Awards landed the big “get.” But Lambert, all wired from the pressure and excited about debuting with his new band, let loose a little too much for some, simulating S&M and sexual acts both hetero and homo during his performance, the live debut of his first single, “For Your Entertainment.”
It’s a shame he performed this curious song on the stodgy, irrelevant AMAs instead of, let’s say, on the MTV Video Music Awards, because there that kinky performance would have been heralded. On the AMAs he was ripped apart, even though the performance was brilliant. The song is a decadent one. It was just the wrong TV audience, and he certainly lost fans. But he didn’t need those who retreated. He is currently as popular as it gets in contemporary music. His large legion of fans are widespread, diverse and hopelessly devoted.
So how does someone “recover” from a perceived fatal error at one’s career start? Lambert was lucky. On his new album, For Your Entertainment, there sat a beautiful ballad that dealt with peeling away perceptions and layers of fame. The battle for a performing artist between one’s self and the persona on stage was the tug he was living. “Whataya Want From Me” is that song. And it worked. Not only did it race up the charts, it salvaged his almost-wasted career, redeemed him and seemed to refresh and redirect him.
Here he now back on the Idol stage, the prodigal son returned, being all rock god-y before a sea of absolutely delirious fans. (They don’t even scream like that for their current eye-not-ear candy Tim Urban and Casey James.) Lambert woke the damn place up. He reminded everyone what this music reality show was supposed to be about. Where are the Kelly Clarksons? Where are the Fantasias battling the LaToya Londons and Jennifer Hudsons? Where is the pristine voice of Melinda Doolittle? Daughtry? Where is even Lilly Scott? Where is the drama? The skill? The inventiveness?
When interviewed by Ryan Seacrest after his performance, the always gracious Lambert said, “I owe this show everything.” And that’s true, but it works both ways. Adam brought hip cred to Idol that was desperately needed, and which was quickly lost when the less provocative Kris Allen won.
Through his triumphant battle-storm of a performance and his personable demeanor, Lambert taught a master lesson in Rockstar 101. Afterwards, the camera panned to the pathetic three up for elimination—Tim, Mike (whose constant mugging is unbearable) and Katie. The trio stood sadly, looking pathetic and defeated in their casual clothes with their slouched shoulders. Following the fiery, glammed-out Lambert, the difference in charisma and talent could not have been more obvious.
A suggestion: Crown the deserving Bowersox with the title next week and end the tired run. Simon certainly doesn’t want to be there anymore. And then bring Adam on the road to select next year’s contestants. Oh, and have him perform every night.
Simon’s always waiting for a “moment.” Well, he sure got one with Adam’s thrilling, knockout performance. Lambert is one of a kind—and that’s, simply, the best.
IN OTHER WORDS: Love this guy. End of story.

‘Idol’s’ Top 9 share their favorite Adam Lambert moments
April 14, 2010 | 9:39 pm
Elvis-top9
After Tuesday’s performance show, we asked most of season 9’s Top 9 (Tim Urban eluded the question somehow) for their favorite Adam Lambert moment, be it from last year’s “American Idol,” his career since or their Vegas experience with the season 8 runner-up as their mentor. Read on for some major Adam adoration…
Siobhan Magnus: “Just meeting him was incredible; his presence is really big and he’s just so positive and genuinely kind. He said he would figuratively be throwing glitter at me, and I felt it up there.”
Lee DeWyze: “Last season, he was amazing. There’s too many [performances] to pick, but when he was mentoring us, he was really honest, which is really good for me. He told me exactly what he thought about my song, and what he thought I should do with it. It was really cool for me to hear him be that honest.”
Crystal Bowersox: “Having Adam tell me that he wouldn’t change anything about the song, that was really, really cool coming from someone who’s a great entertainer, and then we talked about lighting and presentation. I got some good info out of him.”
Katie Stevens: “I loved when Adam sang ‘Feeling Good’ last year. That was one of my favorite songs. He came down the stairs and all cool, and with the light in the background and it got bigger and he did his whole riffing crazy ridiculous chops thing. Having him as a mentor was just incredible, because he knows what we’re going through, so he’s able to give us the best feedback.”
Casey James: “He was a great mentor, he had a good vibe. Immediately when I met him, he had a good energy, I was comfortable, I didn’t feel awkward singing him the song, and then when he gave me the feedback, it was actually really hands-on constructive feedback. It was really great.”
Andrew Garcia: “My favorite is when he mentored me; he knows what we went through, because he’s been through the same thing. He’s really on our level. When he was a contestant, he was never scared, he had all this confidence. He’s a really cool guy.”
Aaron Kelly: “Adam Lambert is such a great performer. Last year, on every single performance, he was consistent. And having him as a mentor was really cool because he’s been through this before, and he pretty much knows what’s right and wrong, what we should do. I mean, he’s got the experience.”
Michael Lynch: “My favorite Adam Lambert moment is hearing about his reputation from the crew and from our handlers. He was always prepared, a super good kid; he’s just one of the people they talk the highest about. To me, that’s something that’s important. I always want my reputation with the people I work with to be good, and to see that about him, that he’s one of the people they talk about out of all the seasons, that’s my favorite thing about him.”

May I just say how PROUD I am of OUR American Idol, Adam Lambert? Last night went way beyond what I had imagined him doing on that show. As they were showing the clip leading in, did anyone else tear up when you heard the first notes of his song???
First of all, he was visually stunning, as always. The hair is one of my favorite styles on him, although if I had to name one I didn’t like I probably couldn’t. Was it just me, or did they give him a whole lotta face time?
Secondly, he was truly humbled by being chosen for this role which just shows how un-diva-ish he really is. He understood that although he is just starting out, he was THE go-to guy after being in that spot just a year ago. As WE all know, he was the one doing that EXACT same thing with the people he was competing against last year. It was only fitting that they allowed him to do it out in front of the cameras, for all to see his genuine, creative, and beautiful side. Not that he even owns an ugly side.
Lastly, watching the few Idols that actually listened to his advice was awesome, especially Tim. I think that there were only a few that decided to listen to him, and Tim was the one that nailed it. Tim isn’t the greatest of singers to start with, but look what happens when you take someone with God-given talent and know-how, and combine him with a young and eager listener that is willing to learn… I thought it was great to see. I know Adam enjoyed Big Mike, and Lee was fantastic too, I thought. Watching Katie with him… how cute was that? She came out and sassed up the place!
Plus, the best part? TONIGHT!!! I am very thankful for TWO days in a row of Mr. Adam Lambert. I am off to get some stuff done so that I can clear my schedule for it…
ENJOY:
XO~SUE~GLAMB#10
I AM SOOO EXCITED FOR TONIGHTS AMERICAN IDOL!! I cannot even believe that just a year ago we were watching Adam perform, and now he is MENTORING!!
Well, I CAN believe that they chose Adam because he just has that special way about him that feels the need to help others. Most people do not realize how much of this he did LAST year while he was on the show! Who does that? Who else would try to help and make the people they are competing against better?? Not many, that would be my guess.
I am counting down the minutes until tonight, and I added a few tweets from the current American Idols after they hung out with Adam in Las Vegas…
~Tim Urban: It was so cool meeting Adam lambert! He’s such a great guy! He was a really cool mentor for this week!
~Casey James: It was great meeting Adam Lambert! He is really nice. It was awesome to talk with someone that has been in this situation. He had great advise as well! Thanks again Adam!
~Katie Stevens: Ford shoot today!! Yayyyy I’m so excited for this week! Adam was incredible! I love you all!!
LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN…..
XO~SUE~GLAMB#10
I would like to begin this post with a question…
WHO IS READY FOR ADAM TO ROCK OUT AMERICAN IDOL TONITE AND TOMORROW???
Ok, re-group and pay attention. This article is from Beatweek Magazine, written by Bill Palmer, and is a great read. It may just be my personal fascination with the song, but I love when he talks about If I Had You…

Adam Lambert: the Beatweek interview:

Who says you can’t go home again? Back from traveling around the world to promote his debut album For Your Entertainment, Adam Lambert is revisiting his old stomping grounds this week as he gears up for the role of contestant mentor on tonight’s episode of American Idol. In our Beatweek cover story interview, Adam talks about why he’s chosen to release the singles that he has, why he’s never turned his back on Idol, what went into his Remixes EP and VH1 Unplugged performance which both surfaced this week, what we can learn from his friendly relationship with Kris Allen, and what he’s got on tap for that U.S. summer tour that his fans have been clamoring for in our cover story interview for Beatweek Magazine’s 69th issue, released today.
You’ve been all over the world lately. You were in Japan, and now Canada?
~It’s non stop. It’s a rollercoaster [laughs]
And yet you were home just in time for the earthquake.
~That’s true, yes. I had that day off. I had a wonderful lunch that day. It was like two Mimosas in, and I thought “Is this a really strong Mimosa or am I tripping?”
When you were putting together the album, did you have a sense that Whataya Want From Me was going to be a big hit, or did that surprise you?
~No, actually it was kind of a consensus that it would be well received on radio and that people would like it. It’s real catchy. When I finally heard the first demo, I thought the production was, I was like ooh God, it sounds just beautiful, just the quality of the way that the vocals were mixed, and the beats and the keyboards and everything, and I knew it would be great. So yeah it was definitely something that we knew.
I think the reason that we went with the first single, For Your Entertainment, is I just wanted to do something a little unexpected, and Whataya Want From Me is a little bit more straight ahead, you know? In some respects it has a little bit more mass appeal, but [laughs] it has its positives and its negatives. But I’m kind of subversive and contrary by nature, so it’s like “I want to do what people don’t think I’m gonna do.” It’s more entertaining, you know?
~For Your Entertainment was something that I didn’t think anybody would expect, and it’s not your typical kind of Idol first single, so I wanted to just do something a little different.
When you listen to Whataya Want From Me it seems like there’s two ways the lyrics could be interpreted, you talking to someone you’re in a relationship with, or maybe you talking to your whole fanbase or the whole world. Is there validity to both those interpretations?
~You know, actually I think there is validity there. I think that when I first heard the song, I thought automatically, it’s just about a relationship, that’s usually what songs like that are written about. And I thought it was beautiful, because I thought the way in which it’s talking about it is so universal, like we’ve all felt, you know what I mean, at one time or another, in some way, and so I was really into it.
~And then the more and more I started thinking about it, right after the whole AMA debacle, and I was getting a lot of backlash for that, the first song that we wanted to perform was Whataya Want From Me, as almost a response. It was kind of unintentional, but when I realized that that’s what I was singing, after dealing with all that and having interviews about “Why, why did you do that, what were you thinking?” You know, I thought Whataya Want From Me, wow, that really fits. It really fits the tone of where I’m at right now. So I thought that was kind of cool. It plugged into me addressing the media and the public. And so with the video, we definitely tried to kind of show both angles of that.
For half the video you’re not wearing a lot of makeup, your hair is combed down. It seemed like you were trying to show a vulnerable side of yourself.
~It always comes down to the song for me. I think that was kind of evident on Idol. It’s like if the song was crazy and over the top and fun and playful, I dressed accordingly, you know what I mean? But if the song is more emotional and more vulnerable, obviously, having eight tons of eyeshadow on isn’t really the right fit [laughs].
You’ve got a remix album coming out. When people start remixing your songs, how hands-on are you with that?
~There were a couple of remixers that I actually really wanted to work with. Both Brad Walsh and Fonzarelli were people that I had been in touch with. So those were people that I kind of wanted to bring to the table, and then the label brought the other two guys, Bimbo Jones and Jason Nevins. And they’re both such great remixers, so I was really excited about the collection of DJs we had.
You also just did VH1 Unplugged. There’s such intricate production on so much of your album. How much of a challenge was it to rework and strip down your songs?
~It’s funny, because certain songs work really well acoustically, based on, like, the melody or the style of the song – and then certain songs on the album really just don’t work acoustically. Some songs on the album are very melodically driven and lyrically driven, and then there’s other ones that are more about a groove, they’re more about a style, a sound, and an energy. So the ones that I’m doing acoustically are the ones that I felt were stronger in that regard, melodically, and not necessarily like dance songs. You couldn’t really do For Your Entertainment acoustically. It didn’t quite translate. It’s more of a club song.
Why did you choose If I Had You for your next single?
~What I like about it is I think it’s really high energy, I think it’ll get people dancing, it’s really great for the summer. I love the blend of pop and rock on it. I definitely think the verses have this kind of great pop dance beat kind of feel, but then you hit the chorus, and even more so in the bridge, we have all these guitars and all this kind of indie guitar thing going on underneath it, so it’s kind of a blend of two different styles, which I love.
~And I like the sentiment. I like what it’s saying. I think it’s a positive message, and I think that we have a lot of music right now that’s really fierce and sexy and fun and dramatic, but I just thought I did that with For Your Entertainment, and then with Whataya Want From Me it’s a little bit emo, a little bit kind of emotive and reflective, and I thought for my third single, it would be good to do something joyful and positive. And basically the theme of the song, as I’m sure you could kind of find in the lyric, is that no matter how much my lifestyle is fabulous, no matter how much money I’m making, no matter how much I’m traveling, if I don’t have a connection with somebody, or with people in general, it’s worthless. I really think it’s a great message. I think that’s something that needs to be reinforced, is that in this age of pop escapism, love kind of still needs to remain at the center of everything.
A lot of people, once they’re done with Idol, they don’t want to ever go near it again because they just want to sink or swim on their own and be out of the shadow. But I guess you don’t feel that way, since you’re going back.
~I definitely don’t feel that way. I think Idol’s amazing. It’s a phenomenon. As an artist, that’s the reason why I wanted to audition is because of the type of exposure you could get and how you get to challenge yourself every week to try to make a song your own, and to show what you can do. And I think that if it weren’t for Idol, I have strong doubts that I would have ever been signed to a record label, first of all. I just think I was a little too left of center for a typical record executive to probably look at it and go, “Oh, that guy, let’s hire him, let’s sign him” [laughs].
~I think with Idol, I owe everything that’s happened thus far to Idol and to the audience that supported me on it. So I love the idea of going back and kind of getting to perform my hit single on there and giving everybody a show. And then when they asked me to be a mentor I thought ‘cool, that sounds great.’ When I watched the past couple of years before auditioning for it, I always had ideas, I always had my own kind of opinions about the contestants. My friends and I at Wicked would sit backstage and argue about which one was the best one and why. I’m a pretty opinionated guy, so I think it’ll be really fun. I also had some experience last year during the show helping some of the other contestants, just bouncing ideas. So I think it’s something that I want to do to try to just help, you know?
This whole country is so divided right now in so many different ways, and yet I looked at Idol last season and I see these two guys who were complete stereotypical opposites, the small town churchgoer, the homosexual from SoCal, and I always thought the way that you and Kris showed solidarity and unity was a model that the rest of us could learn something from. Am I reading too much into that?
~That’s a wonderful compliment, and I feel like I hope people could see that, and kind of be inspired by that, because it really shouldn’t frickin’ matter what your background is, what your religion is, what your sexuality is, what your color of your skin is. It’s like we should focus on our similarities as opposed to our differences and learn how to coexist. Kris and I were very different, but we get along great because we were both willing and wanted to and had the desire to get along.
I know it’s way too early to be talking about your next album in any kind of detail, but after going through the whole process of making this album and releasing it, have you had any general thoughts about things you’ll do the same or things you’ll do differently on future records?
~I kind of think it’s still a bit too early to tell, to be honest with you. I definitely have people that I want to work with still, and people that I would work with again. I don’t know, I think it’s too early to tell. And that’s something too, is that we’ve just come back from the month long international promo to get the album out around the world, and that’s gonna interpret a lot of what I do next too, you know, cause now the album now is an international album and it’s reaching beyond just our country. So I have to kind of keep all of it in mind.
Your Twitter bio says “prepping for North American summer tour” – are there any more details you can share on that yet?
~It’s still kind of all under wraps. I’m kind of coming up with ideas creatively, and the dates are all kind of tentative or being confirmed, that’s why I haven’t announced them yet. It’s gonna be pretty extensive though, as far as how many dates we’re going. And as far as I’m concerned, they aren’t necessarily arenas, but I’m gonna pull out all the stops for the production values as best I can. I think I’m gonna try to make it theatrical, environmental, and interactive, something that people who know the album will love, but then people who don’t know the album will really enjoy it as well. I think it’s gonna be something that’s really atmospheric

I just found this Canadian article about Adam mentoring this week on American Idol. I love the references by American Idol Musical Director Michael Orland. Because we know that Michael loved Adam! Read on, and keep your fingers crossed that Adam will get lots of screen time this week as mentor. I can hardly wait to hear the judges comments on air about Adam’s tutelage! It’s HUGE that Adam is the first previous Idol contestant to serve as mentor. But we knew if anyone would do it, it would be Adam!

Idol welcomes back Adam Lambert
By Alex Strachan, Canwest News Service April 11, 2010
Adam Lambert may strike some Idolators as an offbeat choice to mentor an occasionally - and some might say increasingly - out-of-tune and off-key final nine contestants on American Idol this week.
No one, though, short of Kris Allen, has more recent experience of - and appreciation for - what it really takes to make it to the end of TV’s most-watched, if not always talked-about, talent competitions.
(Idol’s back-to-back performances on March 30-31 - the most recent week for which accurate figures are available - scored 2.35 million and 2.25 million viewers respectively - behind only CSI and Survivor - as Canada’s most-watched programs on TV that week.)
Less than a year after he came within a glory note of standing at the centre of Idol’s winners’ circle, Glambert is a bona fide star.
More importantly from Idol’s longevity point-of-view, he could not be more different - as a recording artist, as a musical stylist and as a theatrical performer - than any of Idol’s previous stars, from Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks to Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard, Chris Daughtry, David Cook and Clay Aiken.
In a revealing interview last month with USA Today, Idol music director Michael Orland - the one person who knows the contestants’ strengths and weaknesses better than anyone - recalled that Lambert had a finely honed professionalism from the day he auditioned for Idol, and even supervised his own staging and lighting set-ups for his weekly Idol performances.
The implication is that Lambert won’t just be an effective, one-week-only mentor: He may provide the remaining singers with the most valuable advice and inspiration they will hear in the six weeks between now and this season’s star-is-born moment in late May.
This is a key week for American Idol because, thanks to last week’s use of the judges’ save - which can only be used once in any given season - not one but two singers will be sent home this week.
That means that, barring sudden catastrophe or another ludicrous judging decision by Idol’s text-messaging ‘tweener voters, this year’s field will finally be narrowed to a handful of genuine contenders, including Crystal Bowersox (my personal favourite, and Simon Cowell’s “Chosen One”), Michael Lynche and Siobhan Magnus, the dark horse who’s growing by leaps and bounds and who I predict will be the eventual winner.
Of the performers who remain, Magnus - the wild card with a knack for unpredictability and an affinity for busting the rules wide open - has the most to gain from Lambert’s counsel. And she’s smart enough, and weird enough, to get exactly what Lambert is getting at.
Magnus would be wise to listen. According to Orland, who’s in a position to know, Lambert “was great, great, great” every week during his stay on Idol. Lambert has a reputation for taking risks, and flaunting his worth, and no one takes risks in this year’s Idol field like Magnus, the Cape Cod, Mass., teen whose musical influences are Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday and, get this, Courtney Love.
“And not even just her voice,” Magnus posted on her blog on Idol’s official website, “but her in-your-face/I-don’t-care-what-you-think-of-me-because-I’m-me presence.”
In a (mostly) laudatory review of Lambert’s back-to-back performances in Vancouver this past weekend, veteran music journalist Tom Harrison - The Vancouver Province newspaper’s seasoned music commentator, with decades of experience to call on - wrote that Lambert has the wherewithal to last longer than Idol finalists’ usual “best before” date, “and will be around for a while.”
This could be the week that, under Lambert’s tutelage, Magnus breaks out into the spotlight and, to paraphrase Simon Cowell from a couple of weeks ago, her life changes forever.
Adam Lambert and Siobhan Magnus, getting their inner freak on. Could this be the beginnings of a show-stopping duet on the Grammys in, say, 2012?

From one thing to another, Adam is going non-stop. He is really busy!
Today, he left Canada, only to land in Las Vegas to begin his mentoring for American Idol’s top 9.
Here is some twitter information that is going around, as I figure it is better than nothing, right?
Thank you, mj.

DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE HOMEPAGE FOR NEW ADAM POSTS!!!
XO~SUE~GLAMB#10
After Dick Clark’s ABC show cancelled Adam (lame), there was some speculation about where he was going to be for New Year’s eve! It even went up to the point where the owner of Upright Cabaret tweeted:

And let’s be honest y’all, wouldn’t we all loove a repeat of these stunning performances that are getting so many hits on youtube? And just imagine what it would be like when it is actually filmed with a proper camera.. Just look back at this, Adam on New Year’s Eve last year!
Anyway. No matter how good that was, times have changed, and now Adam is headlining Gridlock 2009 New Year’s Eve Bash:
Matthew Gavin Enterprises, TLK Fusion, Hollywood Studios International, Krome Vodka, and Paramount Rocks are pleased to announce the 5th Annual “Gridlock New Year’s Eve!!” Hollywood’s most elaborate New Years Eve Bash held at the world famous Paramount Pictures Studio Backlot in the heart of Hollywood. Four city blocks will be themed as four different New York City environments with a Hollywood twist. This year’s event will boast celebrity guests, a mind blowing Midnight Countdown and Fireworks Display. The event will Feature Headliner ADAM LAMBERT Live in Concert on our “Times square Stage” at Midnight all hosted by the beautiful Pamela Anderson!
Even though there has been some random gossip and buzz about a livestream available that would cover this event; nothing is sure yet and chances of actually seeing Adam televised on New Year’s Eve seem slim.. However, if you happen to be in the LA area, tickets are on sale on the website - quite pricey: starting at $150 for general admission. But, another rumor goes that Adam will get to sing 10 songs, so it might be worth it for the fanatics out there!
And the winner of the free concert featuring Kradison that caused so much uproar amongst the different fangroups is.. NEW YORK!

So, all of you living in New York, keep an eye on the upcoming event calendar and keep your fingers crossed that you are one of the 600 lucky fans who will get free tickets to this event!
Even though Little Rock, Kris’ hometown, was leading for quite a while, most fans probably realized that neutral ground (ie New York) would be beneficial to all three idols.. And Adam already expressed his preference earlier this week, happily tweeting this little message to himself:

And, he also announced the winner today on Ryan’s website! What is the eyeroll at 0:10 about though? Haha, very sweet. He seems genuinly happy that it is in New York, so let’s hope it is not merely going to be an Idol reunion but much more than that!
This is the official 2012 Music Video in Hi-Def. I personally really like those high notes towards the end of this song.
I think Adam keeps injecting his unique personal signature on the new mainstream work which is so refreshing for the music industry entering the year 2010. For example, this music video reminds me of his main scene in ‘Is Anybody Listening?’ His visual-audio presentations are unbeatable and I think this is where he thrives the most. I can’t wait to see his next music video!
Back to 2012, here is another interview during the premiere with Gettyimage (sorry if this one was posted here before):
Anyone going out to see the movie? If you do, be sure to comment back here your thoughts about the movie.

Did our “Wicked” Adam know way back then that he was brewing such a storm?
First off, this is just a recap, so swallow and don’t spit your coffee. The storm is coming, though – for some time now Adam’s fans have been referring to the impending wave of Adam songs, videos and appearances as the storm of the century. It remains to be seen how the outside world (the people who say “Adam who?”) will be affected by the coming onslaught, but if the thousands of posts, blog comments, and tweets that blazed across the Internet yesterday are any indication, Adam’s fans are about to be blown away.
Since the tour ended, we’ve been in the doldrums, with only a few tantalizing whiffs of news to stir us. The teasing has left us only wanting more, and yesterday we were finally hit by a microburst of Adamness – enough to wake us up, refresh us, and get us moving. But we still want more! We want a spanking storm that will assault us with powerful and amazing sounds we’ve never heard before. We want a whirlwind to grab us like a dance partner, twirl us around, and take us to dizzying heights of rapture we’ve never been to. And when we come back to earth we want to move our feet and shake what the Lord gave us. In the end we want to be left windswept - raw, exposed, sobbing and moaning, but most of all…alive!
Most people want relief from a storm, but not us (Adam’s fans are just a little bit different!) - we want it! It’s on the horizon, and IT’S COMING!!!
Make sure your calendars are marked:
Tuesday, October 13 – Adam will assist in announcing the nominees for the American Music Awards. Will not be televised as far I as know, but bound to show up in photos/videos.
Friday, October 16 – Possible release date of the single Time for Miracles (Amazon is showing both Oct. 16 and Oct. 20 as release dates.)
Tuesday, October 20 – The other possible release date of the single Time for Miracles.
Tuesday, November 10 – Soundtrack for 2012 drops.
Friday, November 13 – The movie 2012 premieres.
Sunday, November 22 – The American Music Awards will air. There is speculation Adam might be present to promote the release of his album.
Tuesday, November 24 – Adam’s CD drops and Adam will appear on TV on GMA.
The above dates are US dates. Still missing, of course, is the drop date (and title) of the single off the CD. It has been confirmed, in case any of you thought otherwise, that TFM will NOT be the CD single. I’m hearing speculation that it could be another couple of weeks before a decision is made on the single. ARRGGGHHHH! We also haven’t heard dates for the Special Edition CD or the TFM music video.

Commenting on the last paragraph, I think you’re well on your way to earning your security for a lifetime, Adam!

Adam Lambert will reunite with former American Idol judge Paula Abdul later this month — for an awards show.
The flamboyant singer — who came second in the smash hit FOX TV talent show — and Abdul, who predicted Lambert would reach the finals of Idol, will join rapper Snoop Dogg on Oct. 13 to announce the American Music Award nominees.
The nominations will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The AMAs will air on Nov. 22 on ABC.
Lambert — whose debut album last month topped the Amazon.com sales list — recently revealed that he dreams of financial security.
“I’m looking forward to banking that paycheck,” he said in June. “I’m not going to lie, I mean, that’s not my first priority, but, you know, I think for all of us, having gone through experience, to be able to walk away with some financial security in these tough times is really nice.”
It is said by many “be careful what you wish for, you may get it.” Adam and what his fame has brought is a perfect example of this. The following was taken from Celebrity Gossip. The introduction is very disturbing.
~ Carol ~
“Like I always say, you’re nobody in Hollywood until the creeps come out of the woodwork and start stalking you. I guess “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert can now say he’s officially made it, because the singer now has his very own stalker. Not only is this dude obsessed with the sequined star, he has hacked into Adam’s e-mail accounts, and even contacted his friends. Say it with me: Cree-pee!”
Scared out of his wits by a sicko stalker who’s making his life a nightmare, “American Idol” headliner Adam Lambert just hired private investigators to nail the evil creep, who’s not only hacked e-mail accounts, online blogs and voice mail - he’s even contacted the singer’s friends and attempted to defraud them.
“The stalker, who calls himself ‘Jose,’ acts like he is totally obsessed with Adam,” says an insider. “And what makes this assault on Adam’s privacy even scarier is that the guy’s in cahoots with a female accomplice, who’s passing herself off as ‘Lane,’ Adam’s real-life personal assistant. When friends reported the crooks had contacted them, Adam freaked! He immediately hired private investigators to track and apprehend the duo.”
Adam is certain that he isn’t in physical danger but he wants the creeps caught before the situation escalates to deadly levels - a la Paula Abdul’s stalker incident. He’s contacted all his friends, warning them that “Jose” and “Lane” have his personal contact list - and might try to con them into sending things like free movie and premiere passes, party invitations, etc. Stay tuned.
Just a little tidbit for you… I was reading a book on the couch this afternoon and the TV was playing in the background. Next thing I know, I’m hearing “Mad World!” I was like, “What? Huh? Where is that song coming from?” ABC was showing previews of a new program this fall called FlashForward. It appears that Adam’s “Mad World” is the theme song? At the very least, he is getting air time. How cool is that? And after watching the previews of this show, the song is quite fitting. The series premiere airs on Thursday, September 24th, 8/7 Central.
Here is the same preview I saw on TV. The song begins about halfway through the video. When you actually hear it on TV someday (if you haven’t already), you’ll get chills!

My original Twitter article was lost in the server switch, and I saw the comments that many of you made asking for the article to be reposted, so here it is, back by popular demand! Not only is Twitter a fairly recent phenomenon in itself, but it’s new to many of us. One of our fans, Lorrin, has been posting a guide elsewhere on this site explaining exactly how Twitter works. Her guide is excellent, so Lorrin, please post your Twitter guide here as well.
My original Twitter article was prompted by Adam’s new Twitter address and curiosity as to where Adam stood with followers compared to the other Idols, so I’ll repeat that information with current numbers. Adam’s new Twitter is “adamlambert.” If you were following Adam’s original Twitter address of “therealGlambert” then you don’t need to do a single thing – you are automatically receiving Adam’s new Tweets. This is a great time to be following Adam as well as all the Idols, since they have down time on the bus and are not only giving shout-outs to the cities on the tour, but responding to fans on occasion and also giving out news. Those following the Idols during the past few days have heard that Adam didn’t sign autographs after the Sacramento concert because of a severe headache (hoping you’re feeling better Adam!), found out that No Boundaries has been removed from Kris Allen’s set, and heard that Michael Sarver hurt his foot pretty badly.
So who has the most followers? Adam, who else!!! As of this writing, he has 97,382 followers, followed by Danny with 80, 458, Kris with 52,974, Matt with 37, 698, Anoop with 37, 698, Allison with 22,923, Scott with 15,681, and Michael with 10,928.
If you’re curious as to how these numbers compare with the number of followers from my original article from a couple of weeks ago, here are those original numbers:
“Adam has only been on Twitter since early in June and already has, as of this writing, 72,988 followers. That’s a pretty awesome following considering it’s been only a couple + weeks. Adam hasn’t even had time to customize his page yet. I hope he does eventually, but I know he’s multi-tasking like crazy right now, and I know I for one would rather have him working on his music.
I was curious if Adam, of all the top 10 finalists, had the most followers, so I did some checking. I was rather surprised to find he does not. Kris is new on Twitter and already has 39,594 followers, but it’s Danny who has the most people following him, with 73,063. Matt has 32,791, Anoop has 32,692, Scott has 13,380, Allison has 10,348, and Michael has 9,212.”
It’s easy to see that the number of people following Adam has exploded, and with good reason! I think it’s a testament to Adam’s popularity, of course, but I also think it’s because of how Adam uses Twitter. He’s given us rumor control, cool photos (like the awesome photo of his tour jacket), fan shout-outs, laughs (Adam calls lame and boring Tweets “Twats”), and of course news (the explanation of why he didn’t sign autographs in Sacramento.)
So if you haven’t already signed up on Twitter to follow Adam, do it! And if you have any technical problems or questions, our tech wizards are here to help you.

Those of you who hate “American Idol” should be down on your knees thanking one of its spawn right about now. Because the long running televised search for a superstar is on the slab. Cause of death: Blunt force trauma inflicted by runner-up Adam Lambert’s glittery platform boots.
Those of you who love “American Idol” know I’m right.
Of course, Glambert didn’t intend to kill the show. He just underestimated the strength of his fabulosity.
That this season was arguably the best in the show’s history is due, in large part, to Adam. Going into Season 8, questionable format changes (including a universally scorned fourth judge) and an annoying, ever-increasing focus on contestants’ backstories and commercial appeal over actual talent threatened to propel AI right over the proverbial shark. But then something unexpected happened. Adam Lambert took the stage during the semi-finals and blazed through a fierce and funky version of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” At that moment, he either completely won you over (as he did me) or had you wondering, “Who the hell was that…and what is he gonna do next??”
What he did next was consistently wow us with his fresh approach to a show that many believed was well past its expiration date. Adam wisely avoided the tired Idol standards (”Against All Odds,” “Unchained Melody,” insert your own most-hated), while strategically choosing songs that would stand out from what the other contestants were doing. He also had a knack for doing the opposite of what the audience might have expected, like camping it up on Movie Night, slowing it down on Disco Night, and using Country Night to completely freak middle America out.
After being force-fed mashed potatoes for seven years, the audience finally discovered French fries, and they couldn’t get enough. Both lovers and haters of the show gobbled Adam up. Even those who weren’t Adam fans couldn’t stop talking about him. They couldn’t stop wondering what his next move (or outfit) would be. People who never watched AI were suddenly tuning in to see what all the fuss was about. Water coolers across the U.S. were drained dry as co-workers debated the big issues: Singer or screecher? Gay or straight? Pencil or liquid (eyeliner)? Maybe it’s powder! Maybe he’s bi!! Should we get back to work?
In a season with lower ratings than it had suffered in years, Adam Lambert breathed new life into “American Idol.” And it tried to hang on, really it did. But that poor show had no chance.
Remember when Glambert opened Rock ‘n’ Roll Night with a sexy, scorching rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love?” Simon Cowell declared that, although Adam had started the show off with a bang, the downside was that no one would be able to follow it. And he was right. In fact, the only one who came close to touching his performance was…well, Adam himself. (With the help of pint-sized, big-voiced rocker Allison Iraheta, he closed out the evening and brought the house down with a duet of Foghat’s “Slow Ride.”)
Perhaps Simon didn’t realize it at the time, but he was also predicting the demise of the entire series. Because, really, who is going to be able to follow Adam Lambert? Ever?
Now, don’t get me wrong. Although Adam may have the power to turn me into a babbling fangirl at times, I’m not suggesting that he is the greatest artist who ever lived. I know that there are plenty of underground club kids out there who could probably give Glambert a run for his money. But a lot of “American Idol” fans wouldn’t know that. Because on a show that excels in creating family-friendly, safe “products” for its mainstream audience, a (not really) sexually ambiguous, guylinered, shrieking wild man with an anime haircut is something brand new. He’s a game-changer.
But does “American Idol” WANT a new game? And is the audience ready to play?
I suppose we’ll find out in January, when AI rises from the grave for a ninth season.
Of course, those questions were partially answered at this year’s finale when Adam, the clear-cut star of the show and most buzzed-about contestant in Idol history, still somehow finished second to the safe boy-next-door, Kris Allen.
To Allen’s credit, he showed much more creativity than most artists of his ilk. He also managed to quietly slide toward victory without the help of furious pimping or a sob story, so the public’s unwavering support of him was certainly a step in the right direction. Had Glambert lost to Gokey, AI would have completely gone over to the dark side, doomed to return next year as Tuesday Night of the Living Dead Karaoke.
There’s still a very real danger of that happening in Idol’s post-Glambert world. If the powers that be just go back to business as usual, stacking the deck with pleasantly dull singers and Daughtry wannabes, its ninth life could be its last. But serving up a bunch of Adam Lambert clones (and believe me, there will be many) isn’t the answer either. To stay relevant, the show needs to finally start delivering on its hollow promise that it is, first and foremost, a singing competition. It needs to throw away its formulas and cookie-cutters and embrace the unconventional.
Most importantly, the powers that be need to stop assuming that they know what we, the viewers, want more than we do. We just want talent. And we know America’s got it.

Adam Lambert is set to receive the “Young Hollywood Artist of the Year” award at tonight’s 11th annual Young Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles. Let me repeat that . . . Young Hollywood ARTIST OF THE YEAR!! The Young Hollywood Awards have been presented since 1999 by Hollywood Life Magazine, to celebrate young, up-and-coming artists in the world of entertainment. It is a very highly-regarded achievement by the industry.
This award is not just based on Adam’s American Idol success and the buzz generated from it. He has been building his Hollywood career since moving there in 2000. Adam has done it the old-fashioned way; slowly and with hard work. And Hollywood has been taking notice. He began paying his dues early starting with lots of regional theatre work as a child. After high school graduation in 2000, he moved to Hollywood and started his long, tough journey. Adam had roles in the Ten Commandments: The Musical, Hair, Wicked, performances with his band Citizen Vein, and of couse his unforgettable appearances at The Zodiac and The Upright Cabaret, to name a few.
HollywoodLife.com has been previewing who they consider to be the Top 5 Viral Sensations at this award show. Each day this week, they have been presenting one of their choices. Listed at #3, Adam will be pleased to be sharing the stage with Ed Westwick, from one of Adam’s favorite television shows “Gossip Girl.” Each day they have given a teaser as to who will be named next in line, heading for the #1 spot. But after Westwick’s #3 listing, they couldn’t hide their glee and go right to “And really stay tuned for our #1, a caterwauling idol like none other.” That makes Adam their #1 pick for the Top Viral Sensation. Each of the recipients has a special presenter. Adam’s presenter will be none other than Kara DioGuardi!
Share in the excitement as presented from Hollywood Life:
#1. Adam Lambert: Young Hollywood Artist of the Year
Though he finished second on “American Idol” to cuddly young dawg Kris Allen, there’s no doubt Adam Lambert is practically composed of star-power. He landed the cover of Entertainment Weekly, and he’ll soon adorn the sleeve of Rolling Stone. Throughout his tenure on “Idol,” he copped an unmistakable image that works for him and him alone. Most of all, however, he is an outspoken, articulate dude who boasts crazy-zany talent. He’s going to FLOOR the denizens of Young Hollywood.
His presenter should be equally provocative — the esteemed songwriter and “Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi. Can you even wait? I can’t even.
The show will be hosted by The Insider’s Lara Spencer.
With all the rumors flying around the internet trying to chip away at Adam’s success and reputation, this honor certainly will quiet those who spread the lies.
. . . but where is Kris?
I understand that with no new material being presented, our guys may slip from the iTunes sales. I am waiting, as patiently as possible, for a new infusion of melodic satisfaction.
We never realized how lucky we were, all duing the Idol season. For during the season, we got new music and performances every week to download, discuss, take joy in, compare how superior he was to all the others, and just use to zone out from the world in iPod retreat.
It’s been 2 1/2 weeks, a big chunk of time on the sales charts, and I’m so happy to see how Adam is still holding solid.
Here is the current listing from the Top 100s. Note: I compiled this an hour ago, had to go away from the computer, came back, went back to iTunes to double check, and saw many of the rankings had moved a bit! So as of 6:30 PM PST on 6/6/09:
- Songs:
60 - Heartless - Kris Allen (dropped 4 in an hour)
64 - No Boundaries - Kris Allen (dropped 1)
74 - Mad World - Adam Lambert (GAINED 1!)
- Albums:

86 - Kris Allen Season 8 Favorites (dropped 1)
And now, where Adam really has made his mark . . .

22 - Kris - Heartless
25 - Adam - Tracks of My Tears
27 - Adam - Mad World - finale version
29 - Adam and Alison - Slow Ride

*** UPDATE: Adam nicely says he thinks that is some people just talking shit when asked if he was a diva and that’s just how it goes :
http://adam-lambert.org/insane-paparazzi-attacks/
It was sadly inevitable. With the success of an individual comes that army of low-lifes determined to bring him down. I don’t understand their motives, but their weapons are gossip, rumor, and lies. How do we spot these? Look for unsubstantiated claims, unknown sources, and outlets with an obvious bias.
Most of you have probably already seen the online articles regarding Adams supposed diva-like behavior. Courtney Hazlett of MSNBC quotes unknown sources that say Adam is a diva and rude to everyone, from fans to lighting folks. Media outlets all over the web have thrown gasoline on the story, and the trash fire is burning, folks. Thankfully there are voices of reason - responsible journalists and bloggers as well as Adam fans all over - who are coming to his defense. See http://mjsbigblog.com/is-adam-lambert-a-diva.htm for all the speculation regarding this story.
I wondered what we could do as a group on this site, and I thought that one thing we could do would be to start a thread of personal experiences with Adam – a permanent log detailing fan or professional interaction with Adam that shows him as the man we all believe him to be – humble, polite, always with a smile, and willing to go the extra mile for his fans. This could include any of you who saw Adam during his homecoming (ahem, guys – you know who you are), during press week, or during a show. Maybe you were at a taping, in the crowd, or got his autograph. The log of comments may start out short (how many of us have been lucky enough to see Adam in person?), but as the tour starts and more of us have the chance to see and/or meet him, I’m sure it will grow.
This is our ammunition against those who would spread lies about Adam. Anyone wanting to know how Adam really acts has only to come here and see the proof of personal experience. If you’ve had such an experience and are willing to share, please comment with the particulars and what you heard or saw from Adam that shows him to be the person WE believe in.

In Conan O’Brien’s monologue on his second night hosting the Tonight Show, Conan says: “Big celebrity news. American Idol singer Adam Lambert is gonna be on the cover of the next Rolling Stone. And in the interview, gonna finally admit he’s gay. That’s right . . . yep . . . and in other really obvious music news, Amy Winehouse drinks a bit.”
Thankfully the Tonight Show goes out to all of America. By having the message come from as innocuous a source as Conan, the message is softened, and is now mainstream and starts being “ho hum” news. This can only help Adam see success even faster across the boards.
For all those who worry about Adam and his career, this is another sign that he is going to be just fine! He will be accepted and will receive the accolades from the masses that we fans have been bestowing on him since day one!

“American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was spotted shopping with friend Drake at Kitson Men in Los Angeles. ET reveals what’s inside those shopping bags.
Kitson staff tells ET Adam and friend were “cordial and nice” as they shopped. Lambert is said to have purchased a Marc Jacobs blazer for Drake.

I would love to see what is inside Kitson for Men in Los Angeles! And you never know who you might run in to while shopping there… We all know Adam loves some good fashion and accessories.
Apparently, Adam purchased a blazer for his friend, Drake. Looks like the guy could use one!
I think many of us would agree that Adam will redefine the current music scene – to what extent, we will have to wait and see. I believe Adam is having a more immediate impact on how we, as individuals in a society, view our fellow man. Adam’s “don’t be ashamed to be who you are” message is not just touching his fans superficially, but striking deep chords in many of us. But is Adam redefining what is sexy in a man as well?
It’s expected that Adam will address his sexuality in the upcoming Rolling Stone issue. I’m not going to talk in length about the gay issue here because firstly, the media has harped on this and hounded Adam relentlessly, and I’m sick of it. Secondly, if Adam wasn’t gay, he wouldn’t be the Adam we love. Lastly, it’s nobody’s business but Adam’s. The only thing I want to add is that it’s been the policy on adam-lambert.org since day one that we don’t discuss Adam’s sexuality. Simply put, it doesn’t play into how we feel about Adam, except maybe to love him more for his fearlessness in living his own life.
Now that the pink elephant has left the building, we can move on. Okay, Adam is a good-looking guy. He’s tall, has a body that wears clothes *extremely* well, and has striking features, not the least of which are the most beautiful blue-grey eyes this side of heaven. With these characteristics alone, many would think him sexy. But ‘sexy’ involves more than looks. In Adam’s case it means makeup, eyeliner, nail polish, more makeup, enough jewelry to make Mr. T envious, and clothes that few of us would dare to wear. These are hardly defining attributes for male sexiness in America, where the standard, according to TV, magazines, and everything else we as consumers get shoved in front of our face — seems to be cookie-cutter washboard abs. And more washboard abs.
So why do we all find Adam so sexy? Is it attraction to his good looks in spite of the eyeliner and jewelry or because of these things? Is it because he’s a “Rock God,” as Kara dubbed him? Is it traits other than his looks – like his smile and sense of humor? Or is it just our undeniable reaction to those tight leather pants and striped spandex?
I think that as women, we react to all these things. If this is true, are we ushering in a whole new perception of what we find sexy in a man?
Tell us what it is that you find sexy in Adam (keep it clean!), and do you think our attraction to Adam’s looks is a once-only phenomenon, for Adam only, or is just the beginning of a shift in our perception of what it is to be sexy?

I’m sure we’ve all seen these pictures by now (below). All ardent Adam-holics get their news the second it’s out, right? The pictures don’t show anything shocking. Only someone out in public with their new love, holding hands. It’s just that “the someone” is Adam. “What was he thinking?” some may ask. “Doesn’t he know he hasn’t “come out” yet?”
Adam’s very smart. I’m thinking he did this on purpose, to negate the need for a Rolling Stone expose. I want his cover on Rolling Stone to be solely for the purpose of blasting his musical prowess to the rest of the world. Actually, according to the American Idol forums, it’s the rest of the world who get him. It’s the uptight, white bread, mayonnaise-loving viewers across this country who were too afraid to take their thoughts away from their pablum to think for themselves and recognize a legend in the making. Sorry if I’ve spoken too strongly. I didn’t name a specific geographic region because I know there are some right-minded independent thinking Adam-lovers there!
I for one, don’t want Adam to “come out,” I just want him to “be out,” like these pictures show. After all, his family already knows, his boyfriends know, his friends know, and his peers and cast mates know. And all of the viewers of Idol know - even if they don’t want to admit it.
Fame is a two-edged sword. One of the drawbacks of show business is losing your privacy. Only famous people need to “come out” publicly, plastered all over the cover of a magazine. Adam got onto the Idol singing competition with his eyes only on using it as a platform for his musical career. I truly believe him when he says that getting to the finale was his goal, not winning the title. Because first or second place, you were on TV and singing for America the same amount of time. From his incredible success on Idol, he’s now feeling the backlash of being famous. That you have to live for others first, people you don’t even know but probably feel some sense of loyalty to. Please Adam, think of yourself first. Everyone who loves you only want the best for you. Enjoy your new personal happiness - you don’t owe us anything. It’s us that owe you. We owe you your personal privacy, in return for the incredible pleasure you give us with your music, your personality, your performances, your style, your honesty, your open self, and everything else that is Adam Lambert.

“Smoke and mirrors – the truth’s out,” said Adam with a nod-and-a-wink smile at the end of his TVGuide interview, referring to something we all already knew – that his hair is naturally strawberry-blond, not black.
But the remark got me thinking about image vs reality. As a fiction writer, it’s one of my favorite themes. We all present an image to the world whether it’s a conscious decision or not. The way we dress, the way we wear our hair and makeup, and our manner of speech all contribute to our image and what people think of us. Sometimes a person’s image matches the reality of who they are. Adam says of Kris, “what you see is what you get.” Perhaps that’s what many voters responded to – a “reality” that was easy for them to see, palatable, and didn’t take too much thinking about.
Adam’s outward appearance has gone thru a true metamorphosis – the dyed hair, makeup, nail polish and flamboyant outfits present an image which some people apparently can’t process. As a result, Adam has had numerous labels pinned to him, the mildest being “theatrical” and “over the top” and the nastiest being “evil” and “anti-Christian.”
But should outward appearance alone define someone? I don’t think so. Our attitude, actions, and words should define our “reality” much more than our physical image should. If the Adam-haters would take the time to look beyond the black nail polish and really listen to his interviews, they’d hear a calm, good-humored, humble and respectful young man who credits everyone else before himself. With those things he chooses to talk about or answer, he is open. With topics he’d rather not discuss, he politely deflects with either a laugh or a question of his own (“really?”). And yet some people criticize even this, calling Adam “coy” and even going so far as to suggest he wouldn’t make a good role model to kids. When in the world did the desire to keep certain things private make someone devious and less than real?
We all deserve some privacy, even celebrities. I sense that spirituality, religion, and symbolism are important to Adam. He puts them on display in very subtle ways, but he doesn’t talk about them. Nor do I think he should. The private things we hold close to our hearts are a big part of what keep us grounded.
So while some may look at the “smoke and mirrors” and see a person who is false, devious, or a pretender, I see the smoke and mirrors as simply fantastic entertainment. And behind the image I see and hear the actions and words of a man who is as real as they come.
So, people, what do you think it is that defines us? And should we judge celebrities at all for who they are, or should we simply admire them for their talent and artistry?

The ‘joke’ comes out at 1:20, I laughed so hard.. Watch Kris’ expression when Adam answers…
I’m going to admit, I actually like Kris’ music, in fact I’m learning his cover of Heartless right now… BUT man he sucks at interviewing, anyone thinks differently?
After personally ’studying’ Adam for months now, I can say that he actually seems just a bit nervous which is not normal for Adam (he is always so at ease, its unreal). Maybe he wasn’t at ease with the interviewer or he was getting drilled with so many questions.
At the end of part 1 of this interview Adam talks about the huge pink elephant on the room:
Part 1:
Part 2 (Adamgasms?):
Part 3:
Below is Adam Lambert appearance on Best Week Ever.
Part 1
PART 2 (Adam fans fast forward to Adam at 2:30):
I’m dying for Adam to show up on Saturday Night Live now. I’ve been telling everyone since the beginning, Adam is not only one of the best american singers. He is the modern ‘triple threat,’ he can sing, act AND dance. He will surprise us and the best is yet to come my friends (yes, I will keep repeating myself)
Many of you mentioned on your comments that we need to show our support for Adam. Kris is beating Adam on the sales of No Boundaries by almost 100,000 sales during its first week alone. Kris Allen fans are bragging and saying that this ‘proves’ Kris really won America.
No Boundaries, believe it or not, is not a bad song. The live performances didn’t do it justice. Adam also said this is a very well written song and he was really proud of his recorded version. Click on the link below to purchase ‘No Boundaries’ by Adam Lambert:
I don’t know how many people stopped Adam on the street, or approached him in a restaurant when he was just the “theater guy.” But in a few short months, I imagine that has changed tremendously. We watched Adam’s popularity grow on American Idol, and now he is on just about every morning talk show across the country. He became a household name in a matter of months. The loss of anonymity has occurred…and you can’t unring that bell.
The TMZ video below shows one of the first likely incidents of Adam just trying to live his life (privately), and discovering he is being followed by a reporter. Many have labeled this the “Date with a Girl” video, or “The Pointed Question” that didn’t quite get asked at the very end. But I think these are just superficial observations that don’t really get to the crux of the matter.
If you maintain your anonymity, does it really matter who you go on a date with? …not really, because no one cares! If you are relatively anonymous, does anyone publicly attempt to ask you about your orientation on anything? No. It is the loss of anonymity that opens the door for the public at large to look in, and be persistent observers of things that would otherwise be private.
So far, Adam seems to be handling all of this really well. He is a performer, and I believe that he thrives on being in the spotlight — although not all people would! Someday he may be living behind high brick walls and security gates, driving around in limos with tinted windows, and ordering his food in to avoid throngs of fans and reporters. If this is the life he dreams of, I will be there to help him achieve all the fame and fortune that goes with it!
The world is full of yin and yang, and consequences shift as we take different paths in our lives… What’s your take on Adam’s loss of anonymity? How will his path in life change as a result?
Okay, I’m still in withdrawal – I admit it. I know people think a lot of us are insane, but that’s all right. I’m learning to embrace my feelings and accept them. Anyway, I find I am really, really missing Adam’s weekly performance. I miss hearing what he’s going to sing and how he’s going to interpret a song. I miss seeing how he’s going look and which way the hair will be worn. I miss the endless variety of pants, footwear, and ways in which leather can we worn and adorned. I miss the download of new songs and new photos for my worn-out ipod.
This is interview week, and I’m getting my Adam fix from the slew of talk show appearances, radio interviews, and video clips that are flooding the web. There are a few performances of Mad World, which are wonderful to hear again, and the TV interviews give me a chance to once again drink in Adam’s beautiful self and marvel at the style he brings to something as mundane as a talk show interview. (Loved the painted-on jeans and boots he wore to the Live with Regis and Kelly show!)
For the most part it’s Adam speaking and not singing. And you know what? I’m just as enthralled. All of Adam’s fans know he’s articulate, but I was trying to think what exactly it was that that was keeping me glued to his interviews. Was it curiosity in wanting to find out as much as possible about Adam? Was it the reassurance I sought that he was perfectly okay with not winning American Idol? Was it the speculation on his album, whetting my appetite for the future while I salivated shamelessly over those skinny jeans and rapier-toed boots? Yes, all of the above, I think.
But as he spoke, answering some potentially uncomfortable questions regarding his sexuality and his reaction to the disses of Clay Aiken and Bill O’Reilly, I found my admiration for Adam growing. He never hems, haws, or hesitates, but answers with confidence, humor, and a great positive attitude. He seems to know himself so well, and he is so NOT embarrassed by any topic that there is simply no such thing as a hard question. He laughs at controversy and he laughs at himself. He realizes that people hung the “cause” sign around his neck, and though he says he didn’t seek that in the beginning, he accepts the responsibility. He wants to be a role model to kids. (Don’t laugh!)
How about you? Why do you feel drawn to Adam’s interviews? Has anything he’s said surprised you? Is there a question you haven’t heard asked yet that you are dying to hear the answer to?
~~Jeanette

I’m asking, because there is something so enthralling, so impactful about Adam Lambert.
He has…a presence.
Do you feel it too? Never met the man. Few have, as compared to the gale of global gazes that he has captured since setting foot on the Idol stage mere months ago. Yet, unlike any other artist since the last millenium, within or outside of Idol, there exists an immediate, collective, intuitive projection of global proportions that he is worthy of the highest pedestal on which to plant his platform boots.
There is that much ‘artistry’ in his ‘package’ performance.
Now the question arises…How do you effectively suitcase Adam’s artistic engineering so that the fans have what they crave about him?
A CD of his recordings? Don’t make me laugh. He is so 4-D that a CD only covers 1-D of what he projects.
Certainly a DVD (and its respective morphs) allows for audio and visual representation. Yet – can you feel it – it’s not enough!
What’s the next step up? Perhaps something playfully called “VADAMs”? Visual Adamlambertfans Digital Audio Messages - something not merely an audio CD and with more personalization than a music video. After all - we witnessed his LAMBIRTH. We cramped our fingers voting for him, drained our cell phone batteries for him. There was a euphoric common consciousness as total strangers Adamagnitized around the world.
What is there beyond that? A music hologram?
What’s in your imagination? Comment below.
We all saw Adam’s ease as a front man on American Idol…performing with Queen…and then Kiss! Was this real?
And where did Adam best fit? I can’t decide because I enjoyed both performances. On second thought, I’ll give the edge to the Kiss performance because of Adam’s solo and because he didn’t have to share the stage with Kris Allen. I digress.
But it seems that a pending offer from Queen is looming out there. In the articles below it seems that guitarist Bryan May a drummer Roger Taylor aren’t “ruling out the possibility.” May told Rolling Stone “I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
But alas, Adam has a summer tour and then other producers and management groups have “first dibs” on his initial projects. It makes me want to scream, “Let him go! Let him be creative! Now! PLEASE!”
Good things come to those who wait…isn’t that how the saying goes? In the meantime, we have the memories of two spectacular performances.
Could Adam Lambert Become Queen’s New Front Man?
If you thought Adam Lambert looked like a natural fit with iconic rockers Queen during American Idol’s finale, you weren’t the only one.
Hours after it was announced that Lambert was Season 8’s runner-up last week, widespread speculation began circulating that the 26-year-old singer had been offered a job as Queen’s new front man. While that’s not true yet, guitarist Brian May isn’t ruling out the possibility.
“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk. But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point,” May told Rolling Stone. “It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
Queen recently ended a four-year relationship with Paul Rodgers, who was handling the vocal duties for the band.
Lambert auditioned for Idol with Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and instantly became a buzzed-about contender for the show’s Top 36. His revved-up, glam-rock numbers and hauntingly restrained ballads made him the front-runner all season before ultimately coming up short. While the show has produced more pop artists than rockers, May recognizes that springboard it provides young artists.
For now, Lambert must first complete the 50-city tour with his fellow Top 10 members, and the Idol producers, 19 Entertainment, will likely have first dibs on anything Lambert does next. May said whatever happens, he’s excited to see what Lambert and Idol winner Kris Allen (who also shared the stage during “We Are the Champions”) do next.
“Both those boys are well worthy of big success,” May said. “So it’s pointless for someone like me to stand on the sidelines jeering. I’m confident Adam will make great use of this wonderful opportunity. I hope I’m there to see it.”

Adam Lambert To Collaborate With Queen?
“I’d certainly like to work with Adam” - Brian May
Now that Adam Lambert is free of the constraints of American Idol (relatively speaking, of course) he is now able to consider what his next step may be professionally. Surely, an album is in the works … but who might he be able to collaborate with on said new album? There has been much rumor going around that Adam was asked by the surviving members of Queen to front the band but Brian May tells Rolling Stone magazine that such talk is very premature. That said, May did not rule out a possible collaboration with the group — in fact, he’s hoping that Queen and Adam may be able to collaborate in some capacity:

“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk,” May tells Rolling Stone in an e-mail interview.“ But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.” May, whose band recently ended a four-year-long partnership with singer Paul Rodgers, is comfortable with Idol as a launching point for the careers of rock singers. “You’d have to define ‘legitimate’ first,” he writes. “The long-term answer has to be that, if you have enough talent and enough will to succeed, you will get there by whatever route presents itself. Once you have scaled the castle walls, with the sword in your hand, it matters little
how you got there. I’ve not always been positive about shows like this, but there is no doubt that it offers a door to some real genuine talent along the way.”
From what I understand, Adam Lambert’s singing style is one that would mesh nicely with Queen’s music so it makes sense that folks would begin speculating that Adam (a hot new solo singer with a big voice) would hook-up with Queen (a band in need of a hot new solo singer with a big voice). It is quite a compliment to have Brian May talk of possible collaborations with you so I’m sure Lambert is flattered beyond belief. It’s still WAY TOO SOON to know what will come next for Adam Lambert. As I understand it, he still has a tour with American Idol to take care of before he can really focus on his next solo move. Still … the fact that anyone is even gossing that he might work with Queen makes him a winner in my eyes.
Who needs the title of American Idol when opportunities like this are falling in your lap?
