After Dick Clark’s ABC show cancelled Adam (lame), there was some speculation about where he was going to be for New Year’s eve! It even went up to the point where the owner of Upright Cabaret tweeted:

And let’s be honest y’all, wouldn’t we all loove a repeat of these stunning performances that are getting so many hits on youtube? And just imagine what it would be like when it is actually filmed with a proper camera.. Just look back at this, Adam on New Year’s Eve last year!
Anyway. No matter how good that was, times have changed, and now Adam is headlining Gridlock 2009 New Year’s Eve Bash:
Matthew Gavin Enterprises, TLK Fusion, Hollywood Studios International, Krome Vodka, and Paramount Rocks are pleased to announce the 5th Annual “Gridlock New Year’s Eve!!” Hollywood’s most elaborate New Years Eve Bash held at the world famous Paramount Pictures Studio Backlot in the heart of Hollywood. Four city blocks will be themed as four different New York City environments with a Hollywood twist. This year’s event will boast celebrity guests, a mind blowing Midnight Countdown and Fireworks Display. The event will Feature Headliner ADAM LAMBERT Live in Concert on our “Times square Stage” at Midnight all hosted by the beautiful Pamela Anderson!
Even though there has been some random gossip and buzz about a livestream available that would cover this event; nothing is sure yet and chances of actually seeing Adam televised on New Year’s Eve seem slim.. However, if you happen to be in the LA area, tickets are on sale on the website - quite pricey: starting at $150 for general admission. But, another rumor goes that Adam will get to sing 10 songs, so it might be worth it for the fanatics out there!
And the winner of the free concert featuring Kradison that caused so much uproar amongst the different fangroups is.. NEW YORK!

So, all of you living in New York, keep an eye on the upcoming event calendar and keep your fingers crossed that you are one of the 600 lucky fans who will get free tickets to this event!
Even though Little Rock, Kris’ hometown, was leading for quite a while, most fans probably realized that neutral ground (ie New York) would be beneficial to all three idols.. And Adam already expressed his preference earlier this week, happily tweeting this little message to himself:

And, he also announced the winner today on Ryan’s website! What is the eyeroll at 0:10 about though? Haha, very sweet. He seems genuinly happy that it is in New York, so let’s hope it is not merely going to be an Idol reunion but much more than that!
This is the official 2012 Music Video in Hi-Def. I personally really like those high notes towards the end of this song.
I think Adam keeps injecting his unique personal signature on the new mainstream work which is so refreshing for the music industry entering the year 2010. For example, this music video reminds me of his main scene in ‘Is Anybody Listening?’ His visual-audio presentations are unbeatable and I think this is where he thrives the most. I can’t wait to see his next music video!
Back to 2012, here is another interview during the premiere with Gettyimage (sorry if this one was posted here before):
Anyone going out to see the movie? If you do, be sure to comment back here your thoughts about the movie.

Did our “Wicked” Adam know way back then that he was brewing such a storm?
First off, this is just a recap, so swallow and don’t spit your coffee. The storm is coming, though – for some time now Adam’s fans have been referring to the impending wave of Adam songs, videos and appearances as the storm of the century. It remains to be seen how the outside world (the people who say “Adam who?”) will be affected by the coming onslaught, but if the thousands of posts, blog comments, and tweets that blazed across the Internet yesterday are any indication, Adam’s fans are about to be blown away.
Since the tour ended, we’ve been in the doldrums, with only a few tantalizing whiffs of news to stir us. The teasing has left us only wanting more, and yesterday we were finally hit by a microburst of Adamness – enough to wake us up, refresh us, and get us moving. But we still want more! We want a spanking storm that will assault us with powerful and amazing sounds we’ve never heard before. We want a whirlwind to grab us like a dance partner, twirl us around, and take us to dizzying heights of rapture we’ve never been to. And when we come back to earth we want to move our feet and shake what the Lord gave us. In the end we want to be left windswept - raw, exposed, sobbing and moaning, but most of all…alive!
Most people want relief from a storm, but not us (Adam’s fans are just a little bit different!) - we want it! It’s on the horizon, and IT’S COMING!!!
Make sure your calendars are marked:
Tuesday, October 13 – Adam will assist in announcing the nominees for the American Music Awards. Will not be televised as far I as know, but bound to show up in photos/videos.
Friday, October 16 – Possible release date of the single Time for Miracles (Amazon is showing both Oct. 16 and Oct. 20 as release dates.)
Tuesday, October 20 – The other possible release date of the single Time for Miracles.
Tuesday, November 10 – Soundtrack for 2012 drops.
Friday, November 13 – The movie 2012 premieres.
Sunday, November 22 – The American Music Awards will air. There is speculation Adam might be present to promote the release of his album.
Tuesday, November 24 – Adam’s CD drops and Adam will appear on TV on GMA.
The above dates are US dates. Still missing, of course, is the drop date (and title) of the single off the CD. It has been confirmed, in case any of you thought otherwise, that TFM will NOT be the CD single. I’m hearing speculation that it could be another couple of weeks before a decision is made on the single. ARRGGGHHHH! We also haven’t heard dates for the Special Edition CD or the TFM music video.

Commenting on the last paragraph, I think you’re well on your way to earning your security for a lifetime, Adam!
~Carol~
Adam Lambert will reunite with former American Idol judge Paula Abdul later this month — for an awards show.
The flamboyant singer — who came second in the smash hit FOX TV talent show — and Abdul, who predicted Lambert would reach the finals of Idol, will join rapper Snoop Dogg on Oct. 13 to announce the American Music Award nominees.
The nominations will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The AMAs will air on Nov. 22 on ABC.
Lambert — whose debut album last month topped the Amazon.com sales list — recently revealed that he dreams of financial security.
“I’m looking forward to banking that paycheck,” he said in June. “I’m not going to lie, I mean, that’s not my first priority, but, you know, I think for all of us, having gone through experience, to be able to walk away with some financial security in these tough times is really nice.”
It is said by many “be careful what you wish for, you may get it.” Adam and what his fame has brought is a perfect example of this. The following was taken from Celebrity Gossip. The introduction is very disturbing.
~ Carol ~
“Like I always say, you’re nobody in Hollywood until the creeps come out of the woodwork and start stalking you. I guess “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert can now say he’s officially made it, because the singer now has his very own stalker. Not only is this dude obsessed with the sequined star, he has hacked into Adam’s e-mail accounts, and even contacted his friends. Say it with me: Cree-pee!”
Scared out of his wits by a sicko stalker who’s making his life a nightmare, “American Idol” headliner Adam Lambert just hired private investigators to nail the evil creep, who’s not only hacked e-mail accounts, online blogs and voice mail - he’s even contacted the singer’s friends and attempted to defraud them.
“The stalker, who calls himself ‘Jose,’ acts like he is totally obsessed with Adam,” says an insider. “And what makes this assault on Adam’s privacy even scarier is that the guy’s in cahoots with a female accomplice, who’s passing herself off as ‘Lane,’ Adam’s real-life personal assistant. When friends reported the crooks had contacted them, Adam freaked! He immediately hired private investigators to track and apprehend the duo.”
Adam is certain that he isn’t in physical danger but he wants the creeps caught before the situation escalates to deadly levels - a la Paula Abdul’s stalker incident. He’s contacted all his friends, warning them that “Jose” and “Lane” have his personal contact list - and might try to con them into sending things like free movie and premiere passes, party invitations, etc. Stay tuned.
Just a little tidbit for you… I was reading a book on the couch this afternoon and the TV was playing in the background. Next thing I know, I’m hearing “Mad World!” I was like, “What? Huh? Where is that song coming from?” ABC was showing previews of a new program this fall called FlashForward. It appears that Adam’s “Mad World” is the theme song? At the very least, he is getting air time. How cool is that? And after watching the previews of this show, the song is quite fitting. The series premiere airs on Thursday, September 24th, 8/7 Central.
Here is the same preview I saw on TV. The song begins about halfway through the video. When you actually hear it on TV someday (if you haven’t already), you’ll get chills!

***UPDATE - SUNDAY, 7-12 - ADAM NOW HAS OVER 100,000 FOLLOWERS!!!***
My original Twitter article was lost in the server switch, and I saw the comments that many of you made asking for the article to be reposted, so here it is, back by popular demand! Not only is Twitter a fairly recent phenomenon in itself, but it’s new to many of us. One of our fans, Lorrin, has been posting a guide elsewhere on this site explaining exactly how Twitter works. Her guide is excellent, so Lorrin, please post your Twitter guide here as well.
My original Twitter article was prompted by Adam’s new Twitter address and curiosity as to where Adam stood with followers compared to the other Idols, so I’ll repeat that information with current numbers. Adam’s new Twitter is “adamlambert.” If you were following Adam’s original Twitter address of “therealGlambert” then you don’t need to do a single thing – you are automatically receiving Adam’s new Tweets. This is a great time to be following Adam as well as all the Idols, since they have down time on the bus and are not only giving shout-outs to the cities on the tour, but responding to fans on occasion and also giving out news. Those following the Idols during the past few days have heard that Adam didn’t sign autographs after the Sacramento concert because of a severe headache (hoping you’re feeling better Adam!), found out that No Boundaries has been removed from Kris Allen’s set, and heard that Michael Sarver hurt his foot pretty badly.
So who has the most followers? Adam, who else!!! As of this writing, he has 97,382 followers, followed by Danny with 80, 458, Kris with 52,974, Matt with 37, 698, Anoop with 37, 698, Allison with 22,923, Scott with 15,681, and Michael with 10,928.
If you’re curious as to how these numbers compare with the number of followers from my original article from a couple of weeks ago, here are those original numbers:
“Adam has only been on Twitter since early in June and already has, as of this writing, 72,988 followers. That’s a pretty awesome following considering it’s been only a couple + weeks. Adam hasn’t even had time to customize his page yet. I hope he does eventually, but I know he’s multi-tasking like crazy right now, and I know I for one would rather have him working on his music.
I was curious if Adam, of all the top 10 finalists, had the most followers, so I did some checking. I was rather surprised to find he does not. Kris is new on Twitter and already has 39,594 followers, but it’s Danny who has the most people following him, with 73,063. Matt has 32,791, Anoop has 32,692, Scott has 13,380, Allison has 10,348, and Michael has 9,212.”
It’s easy to see that the number of people following Adam has exploded, and with good reason! I think it’s a testament to Adam’s popularity, of course, but I also think it’s because of how Adam uses Twitter. He’s given us rumor control, cool photos (like the awesome photo of his tour jacket), fan shout-outs, laughs (Adam calls lame and boring Tweets “Twats”), and of course news (the explanation of why he didn’t sign autographs in Sacramento.)
So if you haven’t already signed up on Twitter to follow Adam, do it! And if you have any technical problems or questions, our tech wizards are here to help you.

Those of you who hate “American Idol” should be down on your knees thanking one of its spawn right about now. Because the long running televised search for a superstar is on the slab. Cause of death: Blunt force trauma inflicted by runner-up Adam Lambert’s glittery platform boots.
Those of you who love “American Idol” know I’m right.
Of course, Glambert didn’t intend to kill the show. He just underestimated the strength of his fabulosity.
That this season was arguably the best in the show’s history is due, in large part, to Adam. Going into Season 8, questionable format changes (including a universally scorned fourth judge) and an annoying, ever-increasing focus on contestants’ backstories and commercial appeal over actual talent threatened to propel AI right over the proverbial shark. But then something unexpected happened. Adam Lambert took the stage during the semi-finals and blazed through a fierce and funky version of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” At that moment, he either completely won you over (as he did me) or had you wondering, “Who the hell was that…and what is he gonna do next??”
What he did next was consistently wow us with his fresh approach to a show that many believed was well past its expiration date. Adam wisely avoided the tired Idol standards (”Against All Odds,” “Unchained Melody,” insert your own most-hated), while strategically choosing songs that would stand out from what the other contestants were doing. He also had a knack for doing the opposite of what the audience might have expected, like camping it up on Movie Night, slowing it down on Disco Night, and using Country Night to completely freak middle America out.
After being force-fed mashed potatoes for seven years, the audience finally discovered French fries, and they couldn’t get enough. Both lovers and haters of the show gobbled Adam up. Even those who weren’t Adam fans couldn’t stop talking about him. They couldn’t stop wondering what his next move (or outfit) would be. People who never watched AI were suddenly tuning in to see what all the fuss was about. Water coolers across the U.S. were drained dry as co-workers debated the big issues: Singer or screecher? Gay or straight? Pencil or liquid (eyeliner)? Maybe it’s powder! Maybe he’s bi!! Should we get back to work?
In a season with lower ratings than it had suffered in years, Adam Lambert breathed new life into “American Idol.” And it tried to hang on, really it did. But that poor show had no chance.
Remember when Glambert opened Rock ‘n’ Roll Night with a sexy, scorching rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love?” Simon Cowell declared that, although Adam had started the show off with a bang, the downside was that no one would be able to follow it. And he was right. In fact, the only one who came close to touching his performance was…well, Adam himself. (With the help of pint-sized, big-voiced rocker Allison Iraheta, he closed out the evening and brought the house down with a duet of Foghat’s “Slow Ride.”)
Perhaps Simon didn’t realize it at the time, but he was also predicting the demise of the entire series. Because, really, who is going to be able to follow Adam Lambert? Ever?
Now, don’t get me wrong. Although Adam may have the power to turn me into a babbling fangirl at times, I’m not suggesting that he is the greatest artist who ever lived. I know that there are plenty of underground club kids out there who could probably give Glambert a run for his money. But a lot of “American Idol” fans wouldn’t know that. Because on a show that excels in creating family-friendly, safe “products” for its mainstream audience, a (not really) sexually ambiguous, guylinered, shrieking wild man with an anime haircut is something brand new. He’s a game-changer.
But does “American Idol” WANT a new game? And is the audience ready to play?
I suppose we’ll find out in January, when AI rises from the grave for a ninth season.
Of course, those questions were partially answered at this year’s finale when Adam, the clear-cut star of the show and most buzzed-about contestant in Idol history, still somehow finished second to the safe boy-next-door, Kris Allen.
To Allen’s credit, he showed much more creativity than most artists of his ilk. He also managed to quietly slide toward victory without the help of furious pimping or a sob story, so the public’s unwavering support of him was certainly a step in the right direction. Had Glambert lost to Gokey, AI would have completely gone over to the dark side, doomed to return next year as Tuesday Night of the Living Dead Karaoke.
There’s still a very real danger of that happening in Idol’s post-Glambert world. If the powers that be just go back to business as usual, stacking the deck with pleasantly dull singers and Daughtry wannabes, its ninth life could be its last. But serving up a bunch of Adam Lambert clones (and believe me, there will be many) isn’t the answer either. To stay relevant, the show needs to finally start delivering on its hollow promise that it is, first and foremost, a singing competition. It needs to throw away its formulas and cookie-cutters and embrace the unconventional.
Most importantly, the powers that be need to stop assuming that they know what we, the viewers, want more than we do. We just want talent. And we know America’s got it.

Adam Lambert is set to receive the “Young Hollywood Artist of the Year” award at tonight’s 11th annual Young Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles. Let me repeat that . . . Young Hollywood ARTIST OF THE YEAR!! The Young Hollywood Awards have been presented since 1999 by Hollywood Life Magazine, to celebrate young, up-and-coming artists in the world of entertainment. It is a very highly-regarded achievement by the industry.
This award is not just based on Adam’s American Idol success and the buzz generated from it. He has been building his Hollywood career since moving there in 2000. Adam has done it the old-fashioned way; slowly and with hard work. And Hollywood has been taking notice. He began paying his dues early starting with lots of regional theatre work as a child. After high school graduation in 2000, he moved to Hollywood and started his long, tough journey. Adam had roles in the Ten Commandments: The Musical, Hair, Wicked, performances with his band Citizen Vein, and of couse his unforgettable appearances at The Zodiac and The Upright Cabaret, to name a few.
HollywoodLife.com has been previewing who they consider to be the Top 5 Viral Sensations at this award show. Each day this week, they have been presenting one of their choices. Listed at #3, Adam will be pleased to be sharing the stage with Ed Westwick, from one of Adam’s favorite television shows “Gossip Girl.” Each day they have given a teaser as to who will be named next in line, heading for the #1 spot. But after Westwick’s #3 listing, they couldn’t hide their glee and go right to “And really stay tuned for our #1, a caterwauling idol like none other.” That makes Adam their #1 pick for the Top Viral Sensation. Each of the recipients has a special presenter. Adam’s presenter will be none other than Kara DioGuardi!
Share in the excitement as presented from Hollywood Life:
#1. Adam Lambert: Young Hollywood Artist of the Year
Though he finished second on “American Idol” to cuddly young dawg Kris Allen, there’s no doubt Adam Lambert is practically composed of star-power. He landed the cover of Entertainment Weekly, and he’ll soon adorn the sleeve of Rolling Stone. Throughout his tenure on “Idol,” he copped an unmistakable image that works for him and him alone. Most of all, however, he is an outspoken, articulate dude who boasts crazy-zany talent. He’s going to FLOOR the denizens of Young Hollywood.
His presenter should be equally provocative — the esteemed songwriter and “Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi. Can you even wait? I can’t even.
The show will be hosted by The Insider’s Lara Spencer.
With all the rumors flying around the internet trying to chip away at Adam’s success and reputation, this honor certainly will quiet those who spread the lies.
. . . but where is Kris?
I understand that with no new material being presented, our guys may slip from the iTunes sales. I am waiting, as patiently as possible, for a new infusion of melodic satisfaction.
We never realized how lucky we were, all duing the Idol season. For during the season, we got new music and performances every week to download, discuss, take joy in, compare how superior he was to all the others, and just use to zone out from the world in iPod retreat.
It’s been 2 1/2 weeks, a big chunk of time on the sales charts, and I’m so happy to see how Adam is still holding solid.
Here is the current listing from the Top 100s. Note: I compiled this an hour ago, had to go away from the computer, came back, went back to iTunes to double check, and saw many of the rankings had moved a bit! So as of 6:30 PM PST on 6/6/09:
- Songs:
60 - Heartless - Kris Allen (dropped 4 in an hour)
64 - No Boundaries - Kris Allen (dropped 1)
74 - Mad World - Adam Lambert (GAINED 1!)

86 - Kris Allen Season 8 Favorites (dropped 1)
And now, where Adam really has made his mark . . .

25 - Adam - Tracks of My Tears
27 - Adam - Mad World - finale version

*** UPDATE: Adam nicely says he thinks that is some people just talking shit when asked if he was a diva and that’s just how it goes :
http://adam-lambert.org/insane-paparazzi-attacks/
It was sadly inevitable. With the success of an individual comes that army of low-lifes determined to bring him down. I don’t understand their motives, but their weapons are gossip, rumor, and lies. How do we spot these? Look for unsubstantiated claims, unknown sources, and outlets with an obvious bias.
Most of you have probably already seen the online articles regarding Adams supposed diva-like behavior. Courtney Hazlett of MSNBC quotes unknown sources that say Adam is a diva and rude to everyone, from fans to lighting folks. Media outlets all over the web have thrown gasoline on the story, and the trash fire is burning, folks. Thankfully there are voices of reason - responsible journalists and bloggers as well as Adam fans all over - who are coming to his defense. See http://mjsbigblog.com/is-adam-lambert-a-diva.htm for all the speculation regarding this story.
I wondered what we could do as a group on this site, and I thought that one thing we could do would be to start a thread of personal experiences with Adam – a permanent log detailing fan or professional interaction with Adam that shows him as the man we all believe him to be – humble, polite, always with a smile, and willing to go the extra mile for his fans. This could include any of you who saw Adam during his homecoming (ahem, guys – you know who you are), during press week, or during a show. Maybe you were at a taping, in the crowd, or got his autograph. The log of comments may start out short (how many of us have been lucky enough to see Adam in person?), but as the tour starts and more of us have the chance to see and/or meet him, I’m sure it will grow.
This is our ammunition against those who would spread lies about Adam. Anyone wanting to know how Adam really acts has only to come here and see the proof of personal experience. If you’ve had such an experience and are willing to share, please comment with the particulars and what you heard or saw from Adam that shows him to be the person WE believe in.

Adam Lambert interview with People.com one week after the finale. He answers reader questions about makeup, dream duets (Madonna! Lady Gaga), Queen rumors (again) and more Articulate as usual.
So what is Adam thinking?
“I’m so glad I don’t have to sing that song at every city…”
What do you think? Comment below!
In Conan O’Brien’s monologue on his second night hosting the Tonight Show, Conan says: “Big celebrity news. American Idol singer Adam Lambert is gonna be on the cover of the next Rolling Stone. And in the interview, gonna finally admit he’s gay. That’s right . . . yep . . . and in other really obvious music news, Amy Winehouse drinks a bit.”
Thankfully the Tonight Show goes out to all of America. By having the message come from as innocuous a source as Conan, the message is softened, and is now mainstream and starts being “ho hum” news. This can only help Adam see success even faster across the boards.
For all those who worry about Adam and his career, this is another sign that he is going to be just fine! He will be accepted and will receive the accolades from the masses that we fans have been bestowing on him since day one!

“American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert was spotted shopping with friend Drake at Kitson Men in Los Angeles. ET reveals what’s inside those shopping bags.
Kitson staff tells ET Adam and friend were “cordial and nice” as they shopped. Lambert is said to have purchased a Marc Jacobs blazer for Drake.
SOURCE: http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/06/74858/
_________________________________________________________________________________________
I would love to see what is inside Kitson for Men in Los Angeles! And you never know who you might run in to while shopping there… We all know Adam loves some good fashion and accessories.
Apparently, Adam purchased a blazer for his friend, Drake. Looks like the guy could use one!
I think many of us would agree that Adam will redefine the current music scene – to what extent, we will have to wait and see. I believe Adam is having a more immediate impact on how we, as individuals in a society, view our fellow man. Adam’s “don’t be ashamed to be who you are” message is not just touching his fans superficially, but striking deep chords in many of us. But is Adam redefining what is sexy in a man as well?
It’s expected that Adam will address his sexuality in the upcoming Rolling Stone issue. I’m not going to talk in length about the gay issue here because firstly, the media has harped on this and hounded Adam relentlessly, and I’m sick of it. Secondly, if Adam wasn’t gay, he wouldn’t be the Adam we love. Lastly, it’s nobody’s business but Adam’s. The only thing I want to add is that it’s been the policy on adam-lambert.org since day one that we don’t discuss Adam’s sexuality. Simply put, it doesn’t play into how we feel about Adam, except maybe to love him more for his fearlessness in living his own life.
Now that the pink elephant has left the building, we can move on. Okay, Adam is a good-looking guy. He’s tall, has a body that wears clothes *extremely* well, and has striking features, not the least of which are the most beautiful blue-grey eyes this side of heaven. With these characteristics alone, many would think him sexy. But ‘sexy’ involves more than looks. In Adam’s case it means makeup, eyeliner, nail polish, more makeup, enough jewelry to make Mr. T envious, and clothes that few of us would dare to wear. These are hardly defining attributes for male sexiness in America, where the standard, according to TV, magazines, and everything else we as consumers get shoved in front of our face — seems to be cookie-cutter washboard abs. And more washboard abs.
So why do we all find Adam so sexy? Is it attraction to his good looks in spite of the eyeliner and jewelry or because of these things? Is it because he’s a “Rock God,” as Kara dubbed him? Is it traits other than his looks – like his smile and sense of humor? Or is it just our undeniable reaction to those tight leather pants and striped spandex?
I think that as women, we react to all these things. If this is true, are we ushering in a whole new perception of what we find sexy in a man?
Tell us what it is that you find sexy in Adam (keep it clean!), and do you think our attraction to Adam’s looks is a once-only phenomenon, for Adam only, or is just the beginning of a shift in our perception of what it is to be sexy?
~~Jeanette
I’m sure we’ve all seen these pictures by now (below). All ardent Adam-holics get their news the second it’s out, right? The pictures don’t show anything shocking. Only someone out in public with their new love, holding hands. It’s just that “the someone” is Adam. “What was he thinking?” some may ask. “Doesn’t he know he hasn’t “come out” yet?”
Adam’s very smart. I’m thinking he did this on purpose, to negate the need for a Rolling Stone expose. I want his cover on Rolling Stone to be solely for the purpose of blasting his musical prowess to the rest of the world. Actually, according to the American Idol forums, it’s the rest of the world who get him. It’s the uptight, white bread, mayonnaise-loving viewers across this country who were too afraid to take their thoughts away from their pablum to think for themselves and recognize a legend in the making. Sorry if I’ve spoken too strongly. I didn’t name a specific geographic region because I know there are some right-minded independent thinking Adam-lovers there!
I for one, don’t want Adam to “come out,” I just want him to “be out,” like these pictures show. After all, his family already knows, his boyfriends know, his friends know, and his peers and cast mates know. And all of the viewers of Idol know - even if they don’t want to admit it.
Fame is a two-edged sword. One of the drawbacks of show business is losing your privacy. Only famous people need to “come out” publicly, plastered all over the cover of a magazine. Adam got onto the Idol singing competition with his eyes only on using it as a platform for his musical career. I truly believe him when he says that getting to the finale was his goal, not winning the title. Because first or second place, you were on TV and singing for America the same amount of time. From his incredible success on Idol, he’s now feeling the backlash of being famous. That you have to live for others first, people you don’t even know but probably feel some sense of loyalty to. Please Adam, think of yourself first. Everyone who loves you only want the best for you. Enjoy your new personal happiness - you don’t owe us anything. It’s us that owe you. We owe you your personal privacy, in return for the incredible pleasure you give us with your music, your personality, your performances, your style, your honesty, your open self, and everything else that is Adam Lambert.

“Smoke and mirrors – the truth’s out,” said Adam with a nod-and-a-wink smile at the end of his TVGuide interview, referring to something we all already knew – that his hair is naturally strawberry-blond, not black.
But the remark got me thinking about image vs reality. As a fiction writer, it’s one of my favorite themes. We all present an image to the world whether it’s a conscious decision or not. The way we dress, the way we wear our hair and makeup, and our manner of speech all contribute to our image and what people think of us. Sometimes a person’s image matches the reality of who they are. Adam says of Kris, “what you see is what you get.” Perhaps that’s what many voters responded to – a “reality” that was easy for them to see, palatable, and didn’t take too much thinking about.
Adam’s outward appearance has gone thru a true metamorphosis – the dyed hair, makeup, nail polish and flamboyant outfits present an image which some people apparently can’t process. As a result, Adam has had numerous labels pinned to him, the mildest being “theatrical” and “over the top” and the nastiest being “evil” and “anti-Christian.”
But should outward appearance alone define someone? I don’t think so. Our attitude, actions, and words should define our “reality” much more than our physical image should. If the Adam-haters would take the time to look beyond the black nail polish and really listen to his interviews, they’d hear a calm, good-humored, humble and respectful young man who credits everyone else before himself. With those things he chooses to talk about or answer, he is open. With topics he’d rather not discuss, he politely deflects with either a laugh or a question of his own (“really?”). And yet some people criticize even this, calling Adam “coy” and even going so far as to suggest he wouldn’t make a good role model to kids. When in the world did the desire to keep certain things private make someone devious and less than real?
We all deserve some privacy, even celebrities. I sense that spirituality, religion, and symbolism are important to Adam. He puts them on display in very subtle ways, but he doesn’t talk about them. Nor do I think he should. The private things we hold close to our hearts are a big part of what keep us grounded.
So while some may look at the “smoke and mirrors” and see a person who is false, devious, or a pretender, I see the smoke and mirrors as simply fantastic entertainment. And behind the image I see and hear the actions and words of a man who is as real as they come.
So, people, what do you think it is that defines us? And should we judge celebrities at all for who they are, or should we simply admire them for their talent and artistry?

The ‘joke’ comes out at 1:20, I laughed so hard.. Watch Kris’ expression when Adam answers…
I’m going to admit, I actually like Kris’ music, in fact I’m learning his cover of Heartless right now… BUT man he sucks at interviewing, anyone thinks differently?
After personally ’studying’ Adam for months now, I can say that he actually seems just a bit nervous which is not normal for Adam (he is always so at ease, its unreal). Maybe he wasn’t at ease with the interviewer or he was getting drilled with so many questions.
At the end of part 1 of this interview Adam talks about the huge pink elephant on the room:
Part 1:
Part 2 (Adamgasms?):
Part 3:
Below is Adam Lambert appearance on Best Week Ever.
Part 1
PART 2 (Adam fans fast forward to Adam at 2:30):
I’m dying for Adam to show up on Saturday Night Live now. I’ve been telling everyone since the beginning, Adam is not only one of the best american singers. He is the modern ‘triple threat,’ he can sing, act AND dance. He will surprise us and the best is yet to come my friends (yes, I will keep repeating myself)
Many of you mentioned on your comments that we need to show our support for Adam. Kris is beating Adam on the sales of No Boundaries by almost 100,000 sales during its first week alone. Kris Allen fans are bragging and saying that this ‘proves’ Kris really won America.
No Boundaries, believe it or not, is not a bad song. The live performances didn’t do it justice. Adam also said this is a very well written song and he was really proud of his recorded version. Click on the link below to purchase ‘No Boundaries’ by Adam Lambert:
I don’t know how many people stopped Adam on the street, or approached him in a restaurant when he was just the “theater guy.” But in a few short months, I imagine that has changed tremendously. We watched Adam’s popularity grow on American Idol, and now he is on just about every morning talk show across the country. He became a household name in a matter of months. The loss of anonymity has occurred…and you can’t unring that bell.
The TMZ video below shows one of the first likely incidents of Adam just trying to live his life (privately), and discovering he is being followed by a reporter. Many have labeled this the “Date with a Girl” video, or “The Pointed Question” that didn’t quite get asked at the very end. But I think these are just superficial observations that don’t really get to the crux of the matter.
If you maintain your anonymity, does it really matter who you go on a date with? …not really, because no one cares! If you are relatively anonymous, does anyone publicly attempt to ask you about your orientation on anything? No. It is the loss of anonymity that opens the door for the public at large to look in, and be persistent observers of things that would otherwise be private.
So far, Adam seems to be handling all of this really well. He is a performer, and I believe that he thrives on being in the spotlight — although not all people would! Someday he may be living behind high brick walls and security gates, driving around in limos with tinted windows, and ordering his food in to avoid throngs of fans and reporters. If this is the life he dreams of, I will be there to help him achieve all the fame and fortune that goes with it!
The world is full of yin and yang, and consequences shift as we take different paths in our lives… What’s your take on Adam’s loss of anonymity? How will his path in life change as a result?
Okay, I’m still in withdrawal – I admit it. I know people think a lot of us are insane, but that’s all right. I’m learning to embrace my feelings and accept them. Anyway, I find I am really, really missing Adam’s weekly performance. I miss hearing what he’s going to sing and how he’s going to interpret a song. I miss seeing how he’s going look and which way the hair will be worn. I miss the endless variety of pants, footwear, and ways in which leather can we worn and adorned. I miss the download of new songs and new photos for my worn-out ipod.
This is interview week, and I’m getting my Adam fix from the slew of talk show appearances, radio interviews, and video clips that are flooding the web. There are a few performances of Mad World, which are wonderful to hear again, and the TV interviews give me a chance to once again drink in Adam’s beautiful self and marvel at the style he brings to something as mundane as a talk show interview. (Loved the painted-on jeans and boots he wore to the Live with Regis and Kelly show!)
For the most part it’s Adam speaking and not singing. And you know what? I’m just as enthralled. All of Adam’s fans know he’s articulate, but I was trying to think what exactly it was that that was keeping me glued to his interviews. Was it curiosity in wanting to find out as much as possible about Adam? Was it the reassurance I sought that he was perfectly okay with not winning American Idol? Was it the speculation on his album, whetting my appetite for the future while I salivated shamelessly over those skinny jeans and rapier-toed boots? Yes, all of the above, I think.
But as he spoke, answering some potentially uncomfortable questions regarding his sexuality and his reaction to the disses of Clay Aiken and Bill O’Reilly, I found my admiration for Adam growing. He never hems, haws, or hesitates, but answers with confidence, humor, and a great positive attitude. He seems to know himself so well, and he is so NOT embarrassed by any topic that there is simply no such thing as a hard question. He laughs at controversy and he laughs at himself. He realizes that people hung the “cause” sign around his neck, and though he says he didn’t seek that in the beginning, he accepts the responsibility. He wants to be a role model to kids. (Don’t laugh!)
How about you? Why do you feel drawn to Adam’s interviews? Has anything he’s said surprised you? Is there a question you haven’t heard asked yet that you are dying to hear the answer to?
~~Jeanette

I’m asking, because there is something so enthralling, so impactful about Adam Lambert.
He has…a presence.
Do you feel it too? Never met the man. Few have, as compared to the gale of global gazes that he has captured since setting foot on the Idol stage mere months ago. Yet, unlike any other artist since the last millenium, within or outside of Idol, there exists an immediate, collective, intuitive projection of global proportions that he is worthy of the highest pedestal on which to plant his platform boots.
There is that much ‘artistry’ in his ‘package’ performance.
Now the question arises…How do you effectively suitcase Adam’s artistic engineering so that the fans have what they crave about him?
A CD of his recordings? Don’t make me laugh. He is so 4-D that a CD only covers 1-D of what he projects.
Certainly a DVD (and its respective morphs) allows for audio and visual representation. Yet – can you feel it – it’s not enough!
What’s the next step up? Perhaps something playfully called “VADAMs”? Visual Adamlambertfans Digital Audio Messages - something not merely an audio CD and with more personalization than a music video. After all - we witnessed his LAMBIRTH. We cramped our fingers voting for him, drained our cell phone batteries for him. There was a euphoric common consciousness as total strangers Adamagnitized around the world.
What is there beyond that? A music hologram?
What’s in your imagination? Comment below.
We all saw Adam’s ease as a front man on American Idol…performing with Queen…and then Kiss! Was this real?
And where did Adam best fit? I can’t decide because I enjoyed both performances. On second thought, I’ll give the edge to the Kiss performance because of Adam’s solo and because he didn’t have to share the stage with Kris Allen. I digress.
But it seems that a pending offer from Queen is looming out there. In the articles below it seems that guitarist Bryan May a drummer Roger Taylor aren’t “ruling out the possibility.” May told Rolling Stone “I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
But alas, Adam has a summer tour and then other producers and management groups have “first dibs” on his initial projects. It makes me want to scream, “Let him go! Let him be creative! Now! PLEASE!”
Good things come to those who wait…isn’t that how the saying goes? In the meantime, we have the memories of two spectacular performances.
Could Adam Lambert Become Queen’s New Front Man?
If you thought Adam Lambert looked like a natural fit with iconic rockers Queen during American Idol’s finale, you weren’t the only one.
Hours after it was announced that Lambert was Season 8’s runner-up last week, widespread speculation began circulating that the 26-year-old singer had been offered a job as Queen’s new front man. While that’s not true yet, guitarist Brian May isn’t ruling out the possibility.
“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk. But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point,” May told Rolling Stone. “It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
Queen recently ended a four-year relationship with Paul Rodgers, who was handling the vocal duties for the band.
Lambert auditioned for Idol with Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and instantly became a buzzed-about contender for the show’s Top 36. His revved-up, glam-rock numbers and hauntingly restrained ballads made him the front-runner all season before ultimately coming up short. While the show has produced more pop artists than rockers, May recognizes that springboard it provides young artists.
For now, Lambert must first complete the 50-city tour with his fellow Top 10 members, and the Idol producers, 19 Entertainment, will likely have first dibs on anything Lambert does next. May said whatever happens, he’s excited to see what Lambert and Idol winner Kris Allen (who also shared the stage during “We Are the Champions”) do next.
“Both those boys are well worthy of big success,” May said. “So it’s pointless for someone like me to stand on the sidelines jeering. I’m confident Adam will make great use of this wonderful opportunity. I hope I’m there to see it.”

Adam Lambert To Collaborate With Queen?
“I’d certainly like to work with Adam” - Brian May
Now that Adam Lambert is free of the constraints of American Idol (relatively speaking, of course) he is now able to consider what his next step may be professionally. Surely, an album is in the works … but who might he be able to collaborate with on said new album? There has been much rumor going around that Adam was asked by the surviving members of Queen to front the band but Brian May tells Rolling Stone magazine that such talk is very premature. That said, May did not rule out a possible collaboration with the group — in fact, he’s hoping that Queen and Adam may be able to collaborate in some capacity:

“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk,” May tells Rolling Stone in an e-mail interview.“ But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.” May, whose band recently ended a four-year-long partnership with singer Paul Rodgers, is comfortable with Idol as a launching point for the careers of rock singers. “You’d have to define ‘legitimate’ first,” he writes. “The long-term answer has to be that, if you have enough talent and enough will to succeed, you will get there by whatever route presents itself. Once you have scaled the castle walls, with the sword in your hand, it matters little
how you got there. I’ve not always been positive about shows like this, but there is no doubt that it offers a door to some real genuine talent along the way.”
From what I understand, Adam Lambert’s singing style is one that would mesh nicely with Queen’s music so it makes sense that folks would begin speculating that Adam (a hot new solo singer with a big voice) would hook-up with Queen (a band in need of a hot new solo singer with a big voice). It is quite a compliment to have Brian May talk of possible collaborations with you so I’m sure Lambert is flattered beyond belief. It’s still WAY TOO SOON to know what will come next for Adam Lambert. As I understand it, he still has a tour with American Idol to take care of before he can really focus on his next solo move. Still … the fact that anyone is even gossing that he might work with Queen makes him a winner in my eyes.
Who needs the title of American Idol when opportunities like this are falling in your lap?

OK, so I know Season 8 really is over. The votes have been counted, the winner announced, and the confetti swept up. So why am I here on this site? Why are you? Well, I can only speak for myself.
Season 8 lives on for me because I was not just entertained, but invested. Strangely enough, the definition of “invest” in my dictionary doesn’t describe how I feel, but I can think of no other better word. “To commit money in order to gain interest” is what the dictionary says. OK, I did spend money – I admit it, much more than in any previous season. I downloaded itunes, bought a tour concert ticket, bought an AT&T phone so I could text vote (hey, they weren’t passing out free phones in my area) and purchased merchandise. But those things were just a tiny part, and the least significant part of my “investment.”
No, the reason I am here is because a one-in-a-million contestant came along, caught my eyes and ears during his audition, and continued to awe me, amaze me, surprise me, and bring me to tears week after week. There was the voice, of course – that otherworldly perfect voice that could go anywhere and do anything. Investment #1 – awe at vocals so majestic mingled with dread that I will never again hear a voice like that.
Then there was “the look,” which I guess you either loved or hated. Personally, I loved the hair, eyeliner, nail polish, and *ahem* tight pants. But the important thing about Adam Lambert’s look is that he dared to be different. Was he just “being himself” or was it just to be controversial? I’m not sure. I’ve heard Adam in interviews say both “this is me” and “I like to get people talking.” Whatever, it took guts to take those risks, and even after the hate mail started pouring in after Ring of Fire (my personal favorite) he went back to that look again and again. Investment #2 – admiration for Adam’s fearlessness in doing what he wanted to do regardless of the consequences. Would I have the guts? I don’t think so. Most of us conform to fit into society and gain acceptance from our peers.
Then there was Adam’s humility and grace. If he’d come off as arrogant to me, I wouldn’t have cared about him, regardless of his talent. On stage, he commanded both it and the audience 100%. But when the performance was over, he didn’t applaud himself, but stood quietly, only mouthing a silent “thank you” when the judges praised him. I’ve watched lots of his interviews, and Adam has never said an unkind word, even though he, and he alone, was asked questions that are nobody’s business. Investment #3 – Respect.
By the end of the season, I was totally invested. I wasn’t just cheering for my favorite contestant, I was emotionally tied to a man who is rare, unique, and inspirational. As much as you can love someone you’ve never met, that’s love. And so the season is over, and the other guy won.
American Idol got what it wanted from me – a good chunk of my wallet.
But the rest of my investment? That all goes to Adam. I continue to be invested, and that means I’ll support Adam any way I can.

Clay Aiken Disses Adam and then Apologizes
I, like many of you, use to be a fan of Clay Aiken.. until I read the comments about Adam Lambert. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinion but his comments were way too harsh. Then again, I’m a little biased. To me anyone who does not like Adam Lambert has issues and everyone who does like Adam is my friend… I must have a lot of friends around here :)
The first article is regarding Clay horrible comments and the article below is when he apologizes to Adam:
Clay Aiken vs. Adam Lambert: He Made My Ears Bleed
Bobby Bank/Getty Images, Frank Micelotta / FOX
Well, me-ow.
Don’t count Clay Aiken among those upset by Adam Lambert’s second-place finish on American Idol. Or, for that matter, among those who can be bothered—or care enough—to even watch the show.
There’s apparently no love lost between Ruben Studdard’s second banana and Kris Allen’s, evidenced by an entry posted yesterday on Aiken’s subscriber-only-accessible blog.
“For the record…I couldn’t be happier about the way AI ended this year,” Aiken wrote, per Defamer. “I only turn the show on once a season, and only to see what the set looks like each year.
“This year, I happened to turn it during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing ‘Ring of Fire’ and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful and slightly frightening!”
He then delivered his final blow: “Just not my cup of tea at all. To each his own.”
Granted, Aiken admitted that he never had the good fortune or even desire to assess Allen’s pipes, and acknowledged that some of his most trusted pals told him Lambert’s performances were usually “great,” but he believes the battle ultimately came down to likability.
And per Aiken, like it or not, a vote for Kris was just as much a vote against Adam.
“From what I saw, Kris seemed likable,” he wrote. “That’s not to say that Adam isn’t just as likable as anyone…maybe more so…I don’t know.
“Until the finale, folks are voting for the contestant that they want to see continue,” he went on. “But, I believe on that last night, the dynamic changes. No longer forced to choose one person that they want to see win, the audience can effectively vote AGAINST the person that they don’t want to see win.”
In that way—and that’s the only way he’s willing to go on record about—Aiken claims he and Lambert are very much alike. However, while he and Studdard were evenly matched and equally worthy, he believes the balance was off this year and that voters were reacting to a season in which there was “an obvious bias.”
“Not even having watched the show, I can tell you that I was WELL aware of the bias from the judges as to who should win. In my opinion, that is awfully unattractive. I don’t think I am alone.
“I think many were turned off by the blatant favoritism shows towards one contestant…And, at the same time, I think they voted AGAINST an American Idol that has, for four years now, been more about the slick productions and polished contestants than it has been about finding the raw talent that it did in its first three seasons.
“Enough with the pretention. More Rubens, more Clays, more Fantasias and Tamyras and Kellys please.”
Wonder what Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks and David Cook ever did to him.
And lest critics think Aiken is just bitter on account of his not taking home the Idol title, think again.
“My faith has always been in the voters. I think they have gotten it right every year (mine included). It’s now up to American Idol to decide if it will finally REALLY listen to the folks that keep it on the air.”
Guess that means the duets album is out.

Clay Aiken Semi-Apologizes to Adam Lambert, Slams the Blogosphere
Amy Sussman/Getty Images, Michael Becker / FOXClay Aiken has retracted his claws regarding that other American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert.
The Broadway star took to his members-only blog last night to address his earlier statements about the vocal styling’s of Lambert. Explained Aiken, “I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard. Any performer hopes that their music will appeal to all people, but no singer realistically expects it to.”
And while no one believed that Aiken literally bled from his ears at the sound of Lambert’s voice, the singer chose to place the focus on the blogosphere’s misinterpretation of his words rather than the harshness of his remarks.
“My opinion is just that, only my opinion, but for as much as some of the blogger’s seem to dislike me and care so little about my thoughts, they sure can waste a lot of their space on what I say,” complains the performer.
To be fair, when that opinion happens to be about the most talked about kid in Hollywood and refers to said “It” man’s singing as “contrived, awful and slightly frightening,” a certain amount of feedback should be expected.
All criticism aside, Aiken makes it clear that he in no way meant to insult the rocker. “The only person I would really dream of apologizing to is Adam. And the irony is, if he’s smart he couldn’t give a crap what I think.” Aiken continued, “I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me. I imagine he doesn’t give a damn!”
And he’s probably right. Lambert has way too much on his plate to worry about a little criticism. Plus, constantly fielding questions regarding his sexuality—coincidentally, a topic not unfamiliar to Aiken—and enjoying the outpour of Twitter support from all sorts of celebs can take up a lot of time.
So what do YOU think? Comment below.
