Must see interview: Adam talks about wanting to start to write again on tour soon, the next upcoming album (for the spring?) and some of the ideas he has and the direction that he wants to take his music. Also, more details about the E! documentary the did here in San Diego.
Best of all he talks about how he recognizes some of his fans that show up to more than one show (like Lila, Carol and many of the fans and authors on this site :] ) Anyways, check it out !!
The pre-concert party was great. About 21 people showed up. At first we had batches of 4-6 people come in at different intervals, so we had to go downstairs a couple of times and wait to get people to the lounge area. We all got to meet fans, have some drinks and it was very laid back. The conversations and pool games went so well that after 6:20pm I decided to stay upstairs. Some people arrived later and somehow figured out how to pass security, entering the maze of elevators and then enter another maze to get to the lounge area. For those two groups that did it, congratulations!
We went out in two separate groups across the street to the Copley Symphony Hall. Right before the concert, I gave my black nail polish to some extranger in line in exchange for her to do my nails. Then, Bryan helped me get my ‘glam-on.’
Yeah, that’s two perfectly straight guys putting guy liner on… priceless:
During the concert we could still see some of the people from the pre-concert party and it was nice to ‘know’ people there and say ‘Hey!!’ from a distance. I missed Allison Iraheta but I got to see Orianthi. She actually did very good in my opinion.
Now to the main event. I don’t think I need to go into too much detail because it has been covered here before (the songs, outfits, dancers, etc). The only think I can say about Adam’s performance is that it far exceeded my expectations. I thought I had a pretty good idea of what the show was going to be like from watching YouTube videos here but the experience of actually ‘being’ there and seeing him live was a completely different thing. I really think people need to know that these YouTube videos does him and the whole experience no justice.
Hearing his voice with high notes that fill the room and literally vibrate everything including the back of your spine is something you don’t want to miss.
My last concert was David Cook at Pechanga Casino during New Years (2009 to 2010) in Temecula, CA. I never thought anyone could ever top that. Well, Adam certainly did; and this is coming from a hardcore David Cook fan. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and Adam’s vocal ability and showmanship is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.
After the concert, I got to meet Adam’s mom and got to tell her I was born the exact same day and year than Adam. She was like ‘that’s really cool!!’ Although she seemed tired, she looked like she’s been tanning/working out and actually looked kinda’ hot (sorry!). We took a picture. Unfortunately, my camera was on some crazy daylight no flash mode so all my pictures came out blurry (You know how they always work except when you actually need them):
Glamorized Adam-Lambert.org fans Stephanie, Bryan and Linda:
Outside we waited for a while and Adam only showed up for about 1 or 2 minutes. Linda was one of the only ones to get an autograph (on her purse). Some of us were able to get a picture with Tommy, the bass player:
Stephanie hugging Tommy:
Sandra (Adam-Lambert.org author) talking with Adam’s dad:
Below you can see videos of the concert. If you haven’t been to one of his concerts and he is coming to you I personally strongly recommend not watching them until after you have seen him live:
We will be hosting an informal pre-concert party this coming Friday July 30. I live in the Vantage Pointe Building right in front of the Symphony Hall (that is literally across the street) in downtown San Diego. We can get together at the lobby of my building between 5:30pm and 6:00pm. After that we will head to the 3rd floor where we will have a bar area with big screen TVs and also a lounge area with a pool table available to us in the building (pictures below).
Whether 2 people show up or 50 it will be fun! We can hang out, talk about Adam, play pool and have some drinks while we wait for the concert. Around 7:15pm we will walk across the street and get in line for the event at the Symphony Hall.
If you are of age, please BYOB and drinks. You will not have to drive until after the concert. If you plan on attending RSVP on the comments below. We also have the option to go in the rooftop swimming pool of the building starting at 4pm. There are lockers available for you to get changed. Let us know if this would be something you are interested in doing and we will take it from there.
NOTE: If you still don’t have tickets, there are last minute tickets available starting at $10!!! Check the link below :
Map of the location below (look for the V). The address is: 1281 9th Avenue, San Diego CA 92101
Please park in the Symphony Hall paid parking lot, they have 2400 spaces available and walk to the entrance of the Vantage Pointe Building (can’t miss it! ). You will see us hanging out outside until 6pm.
(After 6pm I will need someone’s help to open the door for people arriving late and walking them to the ammenities on the 3rd floor. Please let me know if you can help and we can take turns doing this.)

We will hold a pre-concert event for the July 30 concert in Adam’s hometown (San Diego). We encourage fans from other states/countries to post in the comments below the events they are hosting/organizing. However big or small the pre-concert event, is always more fun to go out to see Adam with a bunch of fans!!
Damien (who frequents our website often) from SRP records asked us to feature their new addition, 15 year old Vita Chambers, covering WWFM. ‘Vita’ is a huge Adam Lambert fan. Check out her cover! :
For all of you (international viewers) who are big fans of American Idol but missed it or cannot watch at home, below is the premiere for the new season of American Idol. Watch it soon before the video gets taken out! Also, be sure to close any pop up after you hit play.
What do you think? Can anyone get even close to Adam this year? Expectations?
Below are the top 10 Adam Lambert memories of 2009 according to a fan. Keep in mind some of the upright cabaret and Ten Commandments memories were from previous years and not during 2009.
PART 1:
PART 2:
I will be entering 2010 tonight at Pechanga Casino in Temecula, CA along with David Cook Too bad Adam’s New Year’s performance won’t be televised (we might get our hands in some footage though). What are you doing (or did you do) for New Years eve?
This is the original community website, forum and chat of American Idol Adam Lambert. Here you will find daily updates on everything related to Adam with high quality videos, music, picture library, articles, merch and live events.
Must see, Adam Lambert interview segment with Adam Lambert and Barbara Walters on the 10 most fascinating people of 2009:
Barbara spices up lineup this year
By MICHAEL SHAIN
No movie stars, no politicians, no models.
It’s a little like the “Seinfeld” creed — no hugging, no learning — with Barbara Walters as Larry David.
This fall, Walters set out deliberately to come up with an unusual list of characters for her annual, year-and-a-tear “10 Most Fascinating People” special.
Glenn Beck, Lady Gaga, Kate Gosselin, Jenny Sanford (the wife of wandering South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford), Tyler Perry, Michael Jackson’s three kids and, now famously, Adam Lambert.
“A lot of people nobody had ever heard of last year,” Walters told The Post. “And a lot of it is about sexuality.”
‘IDOL’ FAN: Barbara has had her eye on Adam from the start.
No global warming, no mortgage meltdown, no public option.
“We call the show ‘The 10 Most Fascinating People’ of the year — not ‘The 10 Best Role Models,’ ” she says.
They may not all be people you’d want to bring home to Nana at Thanksgiving, but they have something in common. They are purely creatures of TV.
“I don’t know many people who knew who Lady Gaga was two years ago,” says Walters. “Last year, no one knew who Adam Lambert was.
“Tyler Perry, I’d venture to say that most white people don’t know who he is.” All the interviews were conducted since September — most have been done in the last three weeks, she says.
Lambert sat with her the morning after his now-notorious performance on the American Music Awards — and before her network, ABC, started banning him from upcoming shows. She’s going back today to see Adam and update the interview.
“I watch ‘American Idol,’ ” says Walters, surprisingly. “And when I saw Adam I thought, ‘This is someone we’re going to a see a lot of.’ The business of him coming in second and that whole question mark about him being gay, we booked him long before the controversy.”
That’s how you brag — politely — about still having an instinct for what people want to watch.
Without fanfare or Oprah-style hoopla, Barbara Walters turned 80 last September. She bristles at the mention of the word “semi-retirement” — which is what she led viewers to believe she was doing four years ago when she gave up hosting “20/20.”
She wanted to travel, Walters explained back then, see more than the airport and hotel in the places around the world where she’d had to work over the last 30 years. She wanted to spend more time with her daughter, Jackie.
So where’s she been in the last three years? Long pause.
Ten days in Vietnam, to a friend’s birthday in Switzerland and, oh yes, she’s going to the Dominican Republic for a few days later this month.
Leaving “20/20″ was more about leaving the grind of doing a prime-time TV show three weeks a month than about relaxing by the pool boys in Mororcco, it seems.
Then, Walters said the most revealing thing of a short, show-promoting phone interview.
“Diane Sawyer and I are no longer going to the same people all the time,” she said. “And let me tell you, it’s been a great relief to both of us.”
She has plans now, she says, to update her first book “How to Talk With Practically Anybody About Practically Anything,” which she wrote in 1970 when she was still working on the “Today” show and is now out of print (the cheapest, used copy on Amazon sells for $115 as a “collectible”).
“It’s dated,” she says. “But the advice is still good, and I’d like to redo it again.”
We just received this directly from LOGO, stay tuned to this page for updates. Below is the preview:

I’m starting to get the hint that Adam will go after the MTV Reality Television scene at some point in his career (Besides American Idol which is also reality tv).
Adam appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this Tuesday, with a dicussion covering everything from the AMA’s to his brand new album. It seems that most interviews are covering the AMA topic but consider it’s only been just over a week since Adam Lambert shocked the world with his racy performance at the 2009 American Music Awards.
Below is the full interview and performance in high quality:
Interview segment:
Performance of ‘Whadaya Want From Me’ on the show:
Yeah, about a week too late but there are some cool videos and interviews that couldn’t be left out from this site. At least you got to see the rehearsal photos in a previous post. Sorry if any of this has been posted here before.
Here is what we have all been waiting for, the official ‘For Your Entertainment’ Music Video. This video is HOT!!
For some reason, after watching this video, I like this song so much more (?).
So what do you think about the snake and the band on this video? I know you’ve seen pictures of the band before but seeing them in the music video with Adam is a whole different thing.
Below is the video of Adam Lambert’s performance at the AMA:
Note that this video has gotten hard to get a hold off but we have updated it with a current higher quality one.
So did Adam fall and then roll over or was that in purpose?
Was the kiss (with a straight guy) a bit too much?
Matt Sayles/AP Photo
Adam told Rolling Stones “We’re in 2009; it’s time to take risks, be a little more brave, time to open people’s eyes and if it offends them, then maybe I’m not for them. My goal was not to piss people off, it was to promote freedom of expression and artistic freedom.”
He also mentioned that “he didn’t do anything female performers haven’t done on television already.”
Reports about the West Coast broadcast of the American Music Awards indicate that ABC kept the kiss with Lambert’s keyboardist, but cut away from the simulated oral sex with his male backup dancer.
What did YOU think of this performance?
Love it or hate it we know this much so far, EVERYONE is talking about the most shocking performance from Adam to date.
A Lynchburg non-profit is going after a TV network for broadcasting what it calls a “lewd and filthy performance.”
Liberty Counsel has filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against ABC.
They’re taking issue with Adam Lambert’s controversial number on Sunday’s American Music Awards.
Lambert was seen imitating a sexual act and kissing a male band member while performing a song.
Liberty Counsel is a legal ministry affiliated with Liberty University and its law school.
The group says ABC knew what Lambert was planning to do and even promoted his act as “what everyone will be talking about tomorrow.”
Appearing on the CBS Early Show Wednesday Morning, Lambert says he was trying to prove a point.
Lambert says there is a double standard in entertainment that allows heterosexual female entertainers to get away with provocative performances that he, as a homosexual male, is criticized for.
“I don’t think there’d be nearly as much of an outrage at all,” he said. “I think it’s because I’m a gay male and people haven’t seen that before.”
Here is a press release issued by Liberty Counsel:
“Washington, D.C. – Liberty Counsel has filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against the American Broadcasting Company (”ABC”) for airing an outrageously lewd and filthy performance by Adam Lambert on November 22, 2009 during the 2009 American Music Awards. Among other things, Lambert simulated oral sex, simulated digital penetration, simulated sadomasochistic conduct and engaged in homosexual open-mouth kissing.
Prior to going on-air, Lambert explained that his motive went beyond performing. According to the Associated Press, Lambert “wanted to break down a double standard that existed where female performers are often sexually provocative while men don’t do it that often.”
ABC’s reaction was to promote Lambert’s indecent acts. While the network edited portions of another performer’s number for the West Coast’s viewing, only one small portion of Lambert’s performance was removed. ABC actually teased and touted the rest of his actions as “what everyone will be talking about tomorrow.” This shows that it was Lambert’s obscene sexual conduct, not his vocal performance that ABC used to promote its show.
Those wishing to contact ABC about this decision can write to ABC, Inc., 500 S. Buena Vista Street, Burbank, CA 91521. ABC can also be reached by calling (818) 460-7477, or you may contact ABC on the web at Audience Relations Department.
Anita L. Staver, President of Liberty Counsel, remarked: “The performance by Adam Lambert clearly crossed the line. ABC should be held accountable for airing this indecent and offensive performance. ABC promoted Lambert’s performance to boost its ratings. Now ABC should have to pay a hefty penalty to the FCC for assaulting its viewers with a debased performance by Adam Lambert.”
By the way, this proves our point several months ago when people were arguing ‘Adam should not win american idol because he is going to be controlled by 19 Entertainment!’
Obviously, that does not make one bit of a difference as stated by Adam on this interview (or Daughtry).
Someone even wrote a huge article on ‘Why Adam should not win American Idol’ right before the finale, maybe someone can find the link.
Watch Adam talk to SIRIUS XM’s Larry Flick about one of the tracks off his new album, “For Your Entertainment” written for him by Muse.
Adam says he has a polarizing effect — and he’s really glad to have that. “Eccentric, weird and nuts,” is how he describes his new album — and “I was just interpreting the lyrics of the song” he talks more about his controversial AMAs performance.
Adam Lambert says he suffered from “ugly duckling syndrome” but learned to love himself anyway.
Adam talks about mixing the masculine with the femenine.
How does one person manages to have so many interviews and make each one so interesting?
Just please don’t give up on him Jeanette, he won’t let you down:
Sorry if I sound like a broken record but this is what he does best, fronting a band.
I’d like to feature a comment from colorforadam below: “If I understand the schedule right, last night on Letterman was taped about 2pm on Monday, less than 24 hours after the AMA’s. Adam had probably just had a plane ride and and a shower, thus the soft, fluffy hair) and was in front of the camera. He probably had no clue how that audience was going to respond to him (they were great!!!) and CBS was probably not ready to have anyone interview him. Letterman has been very “flat” and hesitant lately since his life has been rudely filet dissected on the media. Adam’s strength and delivery of that beautiful song was even more amazing, considering the time, than what we saw on Wednesday morning. That incredible song has served him well and he delivers it with such passion.”
As one of our commenter said, this is “THE Adam Lambert Early Show” on 11.25.09
(I’m sure they are appreciating the rating boost)
Ask it early - Adam Lambert answers fans questions (GOOD questions):
- Adam goes to Japan? :
- How he put the band together
- When are you going on tour?
Answering the Critics:
Adam sounds SO GOOD with a live band. Performing “Whataya Want From Me” (High Definition) (AMAZING):
As mentioned by Michael Slezak: “From a lyrical standpoint, [Whataya Want From Me] sounded like it could’ve been written specifically as a response to a nation thrown into a tizzy by Sunday night’s crotch-fondling, beej-simulating hootenanny. The song (co-written by Pink) contains a plea for patience and understanding from a guy still finding his way in the world (“Just don’t give up/ I’m working it out /Please don’t give in/ I won’t let you down”) and a special thanks to the hard-core fans who’ve never questioned his judgment in the first place (“It’s me, I’m a freak/ But thanks for loving me/ ‘Cause you’re doing it perfectly”). I won’t lie: There was a certain poignancy hearing Adam respond to the “too gay”/”not gay enough”/”too racy”/”not well-sung”/”what about the children?” critics with his pitch-perfect refrain of “Whataya want from me?””
Adam’s Mom’s speaks (HD):
Performing ‘Music Again’:
Michael Slezak also commented: “I can’t imagine a more appropriate track through which Adam could send the message “let’s put the focus back on the actual songs, eh?” Adam’s band sounded slightly canned on this number — I’m guessing there was some kind of backing track supplementing the overall sound in the tiny CBS studio — but Adam’s lead vocal was stellar, especially taking into account the song’s rapid-fire wordplay and octave-scaling swoops. There aren’t many artists on the pop chart today capable of pulling that off live. Thanks, Adam, for reminding us you’re a rare bird indeed.”
The Parents Television Council on Adam Lambert’s American Music Awards leash demonstration? Close. The Sept. 16, 1956, New York Times on Elvis Presley’s hip-censored Ed Sullivan performance.
If our outrage over rock stars is nothing new, then neither are our rock stars. From Elvis’ pelvis on down, they are nothing if not dedicated to sex, more sex, the next new single, which is probably about sex, and ticking off people who prefer their s-e-x to be not so explicit, thankyouverymuch.
Criticizing Lambert for what he did, smooched and pawed at the AMAs is like criticizing that Paula Deen lady on the Food Network because she made something with butter: It’s what they do.
And the other night, Lambert did his job very well.
It should be left to music critics and Ellen DeGeneres to judge whether Lambert’s vocals and song selection were spot-on. But any doubt the performance was off the mark should have been erased with every angry word from the PTC, every angry phone call to ABC (1,500-plus and counting, per reports) and, above all, the network’s censored AMAs broadcast for tender West Coast audiences too young to see Jennifer Lopez fall down and go boom, much less witness “another dancer [simulate] oral sex on Lambert.” (Thanks again, PTC! You always put it just right!)
Together, Lambert’s offenses are nothing less than the work of a rock star in his tight-pants prime. Can you imagine how hard it must have been to work the townfolk into a huff only weeks after the nation relost its innocence to the Gossip Girl threesome?
It could be argued that Elvis, rarely painted as a social progressive, would not approve of Lambert’s act. But it could be pointed out that the King had no problem singing about the inmates’ various couplings in ”Jailhouse Rock.”
It could be argued that Lambert hoodwinked his American Idol fans into thinking he was as harmless as a Danny Gokey R&B ballad. But it could be pointed out that if you didn’t know Lambert was playing nice in order to play, and possibly win, the game, then you weren’t paying attention. At all. (And also your Rolling Stone subscription lapsed.)
Lambert wasn’t straying from who he was; he was being who he is. He wasn’t dishonoring the stage; he was honoring music’s shock-and-awe tradition. (According to Lambert, he was getting more blowback for it because he was a gyrating guy, and not a writhing Madonna, but he was probably more in the crosshairs because he was a gyrating guy on free TV, and not a writhing Madonna on cable.)
Ultimately, Lambert was doing what he was supposed to do, and if it was displeasing that a child somewhere saw him do it in prime time, then somebody’s bedtime needs to be moved up. (The show-closing number didn’t air until almost 11 p.m. ET/PT.)
“All hail freedom of expression and artistic integrity,” Lambert tweeted Monday.
And, the certified rock star could’ve added, the satisfaction of a job done right.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you disagree with this decision leave a voicemail complaint to:
ABC (Good Morning America) @ 1-818-460-7477, press 1, then 2, then 1, then extension 466.
ABC has cancelled Adam Lambert’s planned performance on Good Morning America.
No official reason has been given for the cancellation.
His performance for Good Morning America was on a whole different song with a whole different character and with no sexual references.
HOWEVER, he’s going to be appearing on ANOTHER morning show tomorrow - The Early Show on CBS - and his song Whata Ya Want From Me has just been added to Z100 in NYC.
As stated at Perez Hilton blog:
“The network is upset with Lambert’s homoerotic American Music Awards performance on Sunday and afraid of what he will do on live, morning television.”
“At the end of the day, though, there is no such thing as bad press. All this publicity - which Glambert was hoping for but could never imagine would reach this scale - will only help him!”
“I’m not an artist that does things for every single person”
Must see Interview with Adam Lambert from Access Hollywood regarding Adam’s performance during the American Music Awards.
A lot of people got upset with Adam’s AMA performance, that’s already old news. Adam claims that mostly everyone took his past performance too seriously. More details on the video below:
I personally think that all Adam was trying to do was to interpret his own lyrics. As you watch his performance, think about them:
“Push the limit
Are you with it?
Baby, don’t be afraid”
“Let’s go
It’s my show
Baby, do what I say”
“Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I’m ’bout to do?
‘Cause it’s about to get rough for you”
“Oh, I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet
‘Ya fallen angel swept ya off ya feet
Well I’m about to turn up the heat”
Can Adam be his own artist or should he have to conform to society’s expectations?
Can Adam become the ‘male Madonna’ ?
Positive Reviews are actually coming out from different sources and he is winning in most polls:
“The man is a phenomenal, ferocious talent – and THAT will be the punctuation at the end of the sentence when all the digital-ink is done spilling over this HOOPLA. He took the breath away from the collective audience in the room. It was totally Rock & Roll and the most authentic energy up on that stage all night (with the possible exception of Ga Ga). That performance was in-the-moment anarchy of the best kind. Finally – something interesting happening in pop culture. THANK YOU ADAM.”
We will stream the American Music Awards live on this site this year since Adam will be performing his new single ‘For Your Entertainment.’ Adam mentioned that he wants ‘costumes, dancing, fire…’ during his AMA performance.
Join as at the chat (right of the Stream) and show us some Lambert love!
Soon after that we will be getting ready for the release of his new album. Come join us in the chat (right hand side) and please bookmark this page (CTRL + D) to check back for updates (look below).
I just received this from Julie @ Billboard.com. Enjoy:
“Hey Fernando!
Julie here from Billboard.com.
Less than a year after the ‘American Idol’ wild child burst onto the scene in an explosion of glitter and leather, Adam Lambert readies his first album and prepares to kick off his first tour. In an exclusive video interview, Adam tells us about 2012, his new album and what to expect from his tour. ‘Costumes, glitter, loud, lights and……..dolphins’ are on that list! He also gave our magazine editors a great cover story interview.
We have finally (yes, finally!!) upgraded our Forum. I have been wanting to do this for several months but couldn’t find the time to get this done until now. You will notice a lot of the bugs we had are now gone (text going across borders, login issues, missing icons, things all over the place, etc).
Registering only asks you for a login name and e-mail address, then it will automatically send you an e-mail with your login and password. If you don’t see the e-mail, be sure to check your spam folder and be sure to inmediately go to personal options and put your first/last name and change your password next time you login so you can login again in the future. Once you register, be sure to introduce yourself on the forum!
I want you to know that I know some of you are frustrated because you cannot login, cannot get your glamb number or are not receiving the newsletter. This can be a full-time job if you try to solve everything at once, but I will continously keep working on it until everything gets resolved. 80% of these issues have to do with automated e-mails going to spam folders.
We have upgraded the layout of the Forum to correspond with the site, I hope you like it better. Those of you who have admin privileges will notice your console displays all the new posts nicely. ‘The work is not done though, right now we are working on assigning Moderators, then we are going to start cleaning things up and adding new categories.
Finally, I had to remove the Music Player until I can get licensing rights. There is a company called ASCAP that has six older Adam Lambert songs, as soon as they update their repertoire with the new FYE songs, we will be subscribing to them. I will keep you all informed on this.
Comment below on anything regarding the upgraded Forum.
This is the official 2012 Music Video in Hi-Def. I personally really like those high notes towards the end of this song.
I think Adam keeps injecting his unique personal signature on the new mainstream work which is so refreshing for the music industry entering the year 2010. For example, this music video reminds me of his main scene in ‘Is Anybody Listening?’ His visual-audio presentations are unbeatable and I think this is where he thrives the most. I can’t wait to see his next music video!
Back to 2012, here is another interview during the premiere with Gettyimage (sorry if this one was posted here before):
Anyone going out to see the movie? If you do, be sure to comment back here your thoughts about the movie.
So talk show and comedian Ellen DeGeneres is going to steal the fourth judge’s seat on ‘American Idol.’ They couldn’t find a respected singer, musician or someone in the music industry?
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like Ellen a lot (except her little dance moves) especially after standing up for Adam Lambert (Ring of Fire). I am sure she will be very entertaining. I just wonder if she can be a good judge.
What do you think?
LOS ANGELES — Ellen DeGeneres is dancing her way into the fourth judge’s seat on “American Idol.”
Fox announced Wednesday the talk show host and comedian, who admittedly has no formal music experience, just a passion for tunes, will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the ninth season. The announcement all but seals the departure of Paula Abdul, the original third judge who announced she was quitting amid a contract dispute in July.
Wednesday’s announcement came as a shock to many of the singing competition’s fans, who did not expect the Emmy-winning talk show host to fill Abdul’s spot. DeGeneres told her talk show audience in an episode scheduled to air Thursday that she had been “dying to tell everyone” and would not abandon her chatfest. Instead, she will have “a day job and a night job.”
“The times we’re living in,” she quipped, “we’re all doing that.”
Abdul had been replaced by a succession of guest judges across the country as “Idol” started next season’s auditions, which will air in January. Among them: Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Katy Perry and Shania Twain – but not the 51-year-old DeGeneres, who will join the ninth season following the show’s tryout rounds.
“Hopefully, I’m the people’s point of view because I’m just like you,” DeGeneres said on her talk show. “I sit at home and I watch it, and I don’t have that technical … I’m not looking at it in a critical way from the producer’s mind. I’m looking at it as a person who is going to buy the music and is going to relate to that person.”
It won’t be DeGeneres’ first time in a reality TV judge’s seat – or on “Idol.” She served as a guest judge earlier this summer on “So You Think You Can Dance,” critiquing the dancing competition’s top eight finalists. In 2007, she was the co-host of “Idol Gives Back,” the singing contest’s charity event. She returned the next year in a pre-taped segment.
DeGeneres’ has enjoyed a successful reign as the host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” for the past six years, although her four-year streak as the talk show host Daytime Emmy winner ended this year when Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters from ABC’s “The View” were awarded the prize for the first time.

On this home video Adam is caught WITHOUT a body guard and gets slammed with Paparazzis inside a building. YES, they can get away with this.
Regardless of the circumstances Adam is nice as usual yet some ‘people’ have the nerve that he acts like a spoiled diva and has an attitude?? Speaking of which, I hope you all know that was just an attempt from another looser trying to make the headlines. Adam is the nicest guy on earth and everyone knows it.
This, my friends… is the price of fame and it is just the beginning for Adam. I am finally starting to understand why Britney Spears went crazy for a while. Can Adam handle all this pressure?
On the positive side note how Kris doesn’t get THIS much attention
Everyone has been asking for Adam Lambert photos to download so here they are. From photoshoots, new, old, rare, from his childhood and more. You will LOVE this collection. Regular updates, so make sure to check back for new ones every week. Also, please keep on posting photos on the forum. Which one is your favorite?

The site was down for approximately 36 hours due to an urgent transfer to another server. We finally started the transfer to the new server over the weekend but our old hosting company decided to erase the site, format and shut down the server in the middle of the transfer when they found out we were migrating to another company (thanks a lot dudes). We had a full backup from three weeks ago so we had to restore and put everything back together on the new server. This process took several hours to complete, we didn’t go to sleep that night.
I’ve received hundreds of e-mails (No clue how you got my email address ) with people concerned about the site. We appreciate the support!
So we are up again, we are ready to follow Adam in his journey and now cover those concerts. We are still adding articles that got erased during the transfer.
This site has been on since January when Adam tried out. This is his original fansite, with your continous support it won’t ever go down and it will only keep on growing!
Als0, thanks to everyone who has donated until this point. You are the reason why this site is up and keeps on growing. As always, anything helps.
**Thanks for the all the support you’ve shown on the comment below, we love you too :)
Those of you who hate “American Idol” should be down on your knees thanking one of its spawn right about now. Because the long running televised search for a superstar is on the slab. Cause of death: Blunt force trauma inflicted by runner-up Adam Lambert’s glittery platform boots.
Those of you who love “American Idol” know I’m right.
Of course, Glambert didn’t intend to kill the show. He just underestimated the strength of his fabulosity.
That this season was arguably the best in the show’s history is due, in large part, to Adam. Going into Season 8, questionable format changes (including a universally scorned fourth judge) and an annoying, ever-increasing focus on contestants’ backstories and commercial appeal over actual talent threatened to propel AI right over the proverbial shark. But then something unexpected happened. Adam Lambert took the stage during the semi-finals and blazed through a fierce and funky version of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” At that moment, he either completely won you over (as he did me) or had you wondering, “Who the hell was that…and what is he gonna do next??”
What he did next was consistently wow us with his fresh approach to a show that many believed was well past its expiration date. Adam wisely avoided the tired Idol standards (”Against All Odds,” “Unchained Melody,” insert your own most-hated), while strategically choosing songs that would stand out from what the other contestants were doing. He also had a knack for doing the opposite of what the audience might have expected, like camping it up on Movie Night, slowing it down on Disco Night, and using Country Night to completely freak middle America out.
After being force-fed mashed potatoes for seven years, the audience finally discovered French fries, and they couldn’t get enough. Both lovers and haters of the show gobbled Adam up. Even those who weren’t Adam fans couldn’t stop talking about him. They couldn’t stop wondering what his next move (or outfit) would be. People who never watched AI were suddenly tuning in to see what all the fuss was about. Water coolers across the U.S. were drained dry as co-workers debated the big issues: Singer or screecher? Gay or straight? Pencil or liquid (eyeliner)? Maybe it’s powder! Maybe he’s bi!! Should we get back to work?
In a season with lower ratings than it had suffered in years, Adam Lambert breathed new life into “American Idol.” And it tried to hang on, really it did. But that poor show had no chance.
Remember when Glambert opened Rock ‘n’ Roll Night with a sexy, scorching rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love?” Simon Cowell declared that, although Adam had started the show off with a bang, the downside was that no one would be able to follow it. And he was right. In fact, the only one who came close to touching his performance was…well, Adam himself. (With the help of pint-sized, big-voiced rocker Allison Iraheta, he closed out the evening and brought the house down with a duet of Foghat’s “Slow Ride.”)
Perhaps Simon didn’t realize it at the time, but he was also predicting the demise of the entire series. Because, really, who is going to be able to follow Adam Lambert? Ever?
Now, don’t get me wrong. Although Adam may have the power to turn me into a babbling fangirl at times, I’m not suggesting that he is the greatest artist who ever lived. I know that there are plenty of underground club kids out there who could probably give Glambert a run for his money. But a lot of “American Idol” fans wouldn’t know that. Because on a show that excels in creating family-friendly, safe “products” for its mainstream audience, a (not really) sexually ambiguous, guylinered, shrieking wild man with an anime haircut is something brand new. He’s a game-changer.
But does “American Idol” WANT a new game? And is the audience ready to play?
I suppose we’ll find out in January, when AI rises from the grave for a ninth season.
Of course, those questions were partially answered at this year’s finale when Adam, the clear-cut star of the show and most buzzed-about contestant in Idol history, still somehow finished second to the safe boy-next-door, Kris Allen.
To Allen’s credit, he showed much more creativity than most artists of his ilk. He also managed to quietly slide toward victory without the help of furious pimping or a sob story, so the public’s unwavering support of him was certainly a step in the right direction. Had Glambert lost to Gokey, AI would have completely gone over to the dark side, doomed to return next year as Tuesday Night of the Living Dead Karaoke.
There’s still a very real danger of that happening in Idol’s post-Glambert world. If the powers that be just go back to business as usual, stacking the deck with pleasantly dull singers and Daughtry wannabes, its ninth life could be its last. But serving up a bunch of Adam Lambert clones (and believe me, there will be many) isn’t the answer either. To stay relevant, the show needs to finally start delivering on its hollow promise that it is, first and foremost, a singing competition. It needs to throw away its formulas and cookie-cutters and embrace the unconventional.
Most importantly, the powers that be need to stop assuming that they know what we, the viewers, want more than we do. We just want talent. And we know America’s got it.
