Last Tuesday (1-17-12) I was up in Los Angeles attending the taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, when Adam Lambert gave that incredible performance of Better Than I Know Myself. I am so grateful that my girlfriend Diana Juarez had extra spaces on her ticket, and offered them to Lila and me. A few days later, miraculously Lila also got tickets, and was able to invite more local fans to be with us in-studio. Through Twitter and email, we found that many more of our friends would also be there.

Wanting to continue the party with so many great friends, I arranged an after-taping dinner at Miceli’s Restaurant, a wonderful Italian restaurant that a few of us had eaten at before, when we were in Los Angeles for another Adam adventure. Both Miceli’s locations (Hollywood and Universal City) are known for being the only restaurant in the area where the serving staff sings while you’re eating. Our group of 8 grew to 12, then 16, then 19. In fact, many of you might know them via Twitter. Our group consisted of (twitter names) @lliillaa, @lisalisansd, @suz526, @glspence01, @CoralMermaid, @Sue_in_LA, @angelraj, @remavineyard, @Sherry12559, @adams-kitty, @ovationimpact, @heartnnsoul, @diedreinorbit, @adamfanann, @scmtnbert and me, @cmhagey. Also joining us were Mary Jane, Janis and Sandi. (Sorry, I don’t have all the Twitter names!)

From my several conversations with the restaurant updating our number, I learned that a few of the staff knew Adam, and they were thrilled we supported him. They were looking forward to a group of Glamberts coming in!

As we were finishing our delicious meal, server Shannon Warne, came up to the table and greeted us, telling us she’d been in plays with Adam ten years earlier. We were all so excited that she came to talk with us. This was someone who actually knew Adam! We started asking her about him, and she quickly told us “everyone knew how special Adam was.” They knew he was going to be a star! She was quick to point out that the Adam she knew didn’t look like the Adam of today. She said he had reddish-blond hair and his weight was different. I don’t think this was news to anyone, but those within his past circle may not realize how much his fans know about him!

Shannon was happy to share some stories from their friendship. This was during the time of American Idol’s first seasons. She told us she didn’t watch the show, but Adam was obsessed with Kelly Clarkson. After Season 1 was over, Adam would make Shannon sit in the car with him and listen to Kelly’s CD. He sang along and raved about how good she was! Then Season 2 came on, and every week he’d make Shannon watch it with him. We asked who he liked that year, and she said when it came to Ruben and Clay, that he liked Clay. They never talked about voting, but she told us she “was sure he was voting like crazy!” I feel so much better now about the hours I spent, voting for Adam! If he did spend time voting for Clay (or anyone for that matter!), then he truly understands the efforts his fans have made for him. I don’t remember if you could text vote during the early seasons, so if not, he was sitting on the phone hitting the redial, just like us!

Soon after Season 2 of American Idol, Shannon and Adam lost track of each other. This is until Shannon started seeing television commercials for Season 8 and she couldn’t believe it when she saw Adam on them! She called him and left a message asking “what are you doing on that show?!” He texted back something like “OMG! Everything is going so fast – it’s really crazy!” Unfortunately, that was their last contact. Maybe if he reads this, he’ll get back in touch with her! :)

After Shannon left our table, we were so giddy, not believing our great luck in meeting her. Next, our waiter Christopher Carothers tells us he’d also been in plays with Adam! We’d already been delighted in listening to Christopher sing that night, and couldn’t believe he’d been keeping this secret! Hadn’t he heard the table talking about Adam and the stunning BTIKM we’d just heard?!! He went on to tell us about a night in 2002 when they were appearing together, whent Adam cleared the house! Adam and Christopher were in the Fullerton Civic Light Opera’s performance of My Fair Lady, at the Plummer Auditorium. When the second act started, Christopher was on-stage, and all of a sudden the fire alarms started going off. Backstage, Adam had knocked a soda can over onto the fire alarm, causing the audience to evacuate. Christopher said Adam got into trouble, but not as much as the person who left the can there!

Like Shannon, Christopher also says he knew Adam had talent like no other. It seems everyone knew Adam was a star among stars. You can learn more about Christopher here.

Even though I couldn’t see Adam when he sang, I’m not complaining. I got to be there and hear it live! But most of all, I had a fantastic day spent with the most incredible group of ladies, and the bonus of hearing these amazing stories from Adam’s former peers. Glambs, we got our first exclusive! I’m happy to share this with you! :)

All of the Twitter peeps have been reading the tweets from Byron Cooke about his early listening opportunity to Adam Lambert’s upcoming album, Trespassing, and wishing they could be a fly on that wall. It’s time to put the flyswatters away because he’s now heard the rough versions of 6 of the songs and he’s giving us his impressions.

I can’t believe we’ve got 2 ½ months to go to hear this for ourselves . . . I can’t wait!!

Ive just come out of an exclusive Adam Lambert listening session in Los Angeles and can reveal track titles & details on not 1, not 2…but SIX brand new Adam Lambert tracks from his forthcoming new album “Trespassing” in-stores March 20th.

A HUGE thanks to Adam & his team [JoAnn & Leah] for giving me the opportunity to listen to some ROUGH mixes of the tracks. This stuff is so hot it’s not even finished! The guys are ok with me sharing some info with you, so here goes!

1 ] TRESPASSING : The title track [written by Adam & Pharrell Williams] is BANGIN! Really feelin that “We Will Rock You” inspired opening rhythm, the bass lines got an “Another One Bites The Dust” feel to it and theres a really cool guitar hook. Best line has gotta be “Wait till ya get a load of me”. Theres a breakdown part near the end just straight Adam vox and drums..no bass. Sick.

2] COOKOO : Ollie Gee, Bonnie McGee & Adam co wrote this. Bonnies previous credits include several Katy Perry hits. Cookoo is another one for the hit list! Wont give too much away on this one! Wait till ya hear it! Definately a party jam.

3] BROKEN ENGLISH : An anthemic, slower tempo track co written with Adam by Lester Mendez [Enrique, Shakira, Nelly Furtado, Dido]. A beautiful love song which might just possibly be autobiographical. “I know you will understand I gotta tell you somehow”. Like say you had a partner whos 1st language wasnt English….you might encounter this situation! Quite haunting in parts & some fat beats ..an amazing song.

The time is coming Glambs! The fact that Adam Lambert’s album is a “most anticipated album” is no surprise to anyone. It’s only been what we’ve all been thinking of, dreaming of, and dying to hear for over 2 years now! Here’s what VH1 has to say about Adam Lambert’s Trespassing:

Adam Lambert – Trespassing (Expected Release Date: 03/20): Lambert has described his new album as “Nine Inch Nails meets Saturday Night Fever” and we can’t wait to hear what that sounds like!

Okay Glambs, the wait is almost over! I’ve just learned that Adam Lambert will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week!

Adam is scheduled as the musical guest for The Tonight Show on Tuesday, January 17th, to debut his new single, Better Than I Know Myself. Hopefully Jay will have time to chat with his favorite vocalist! Will you be in Los Angeles next week? You can apply for tickets here. There’s no guarantee tickets will still be available when you read this, but the date on the calendar was active when I posted this! :)

Ellen DeGeneres is welcoming Adam back to her stage, airing Thursday, January 19th. Tickets for Ellen are much tougher to get! Currently, show dates are listed on her website through March 1, and there are no tickets available for any dates.

I’m so excited, just thinking about all that’s in store for the fans! The best news of all will be when he starts talking more about the tour to support Trespassing. Start saving your money, refresh your out-of-town contacts, and figure out your excuses for work folks. I can feel the storm’s about to start!!

Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen are already back home in Los Angeles, warming themselves up in the 70-degree California winter.

They are literally a world away from what happened a few nights ago in the Finnish bar. It’s been on every blog, on several news shows, and I’m sure it was a topic of dinner conversation for every Adam Lambert fan that went to a relative’s home this holiday weekend. “Honey, did you know that Adam Lambert was arrested?” OMG – like we’re all not tuned in and hadn’t heard this story yet!

My relatives were entertained, because of all the pictures Fox News could have used for that inflammatory report, their choice had me and best-friend Lila smack dab in the middle! This photo was shot December 3, 2009 during the costume dedication at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel. This just shows you how current Fox is! fox-news-costume-dedication-12-3-09
That’s Lila holding the camera, and I’m right behind her. For the whole Fox story, you can find it here.

The blogger for Australia’s Adam Down Under feels they have more info than I’ve been able to come up with on this topic. I have no idea if any of this is factual, but it sure deserves a reading, if only to make you laugh out loud at the great humor!

So, sit down with your own mulled wine, vodka, or any other drink that makes you feel fine, and have a post-Christmas chuckle!

The day the sky fell in over Finland
from Adam Down Under

Unless you’ve been on planet ZOD! for the past few days you’ve probably heard the shocking news about our Adam. Yes! The world has been thrown off it’s axis, tsunamis have risen up and swallowed whole islands and life as we know it has irrevocably changed forever. Because Adam decided to go out to a club and have a few drinks with Sauli.

If only he had been a good boy and chosen to stay home and read books about raising pumpkins instead none of this would have happened. But alas! We cannot turn back time and now we, the fans, are forced to deal with the fallout from this epic disaster. Oh woe is US!!

First for those who came in really late (we’ll forgive you this time but don’t make a habit of it) here’s a brief recap of the horrific events (hold onto your pearls ladies!!!).

One day, Adam went to China where he was beseiged by fans and followed everywhere by people with cameras. He performed some gig for a lot of bigwig corporate dudes and then tried to sneak out of the country (ha! fat chance!) and secretly head for Finland for some much needed private relaxing time with his boyfriend Sauli (ha! fat chance doubled).

SO. He arrives in Finland, jetlagged and tired, meets up with Sauli and two of Sauli’s mates (Sophia and Niko or Rico – whatever) and the four of them immediately head off to a popular gay club in Helsinki (mistake #1). Adam knocks back a couple of vodkas (mistake #2) and with his jetlag and exhaustion suddenly finds himself really drunk. Unfortunately so is everyone else so no-one noticed until Sauli says something to Adam that somehow turns into an argument. Sauli and Adam are yelling, Adam’s flailing his arms around as he does when he’s a bit drunk and then their drunk friend Sophia decided to intervene between them (mistake #3). As she pokes her head in between them Adam’s arm is in mid-flail and her face accidentally connects with his hand. Someone… possibly some other drunk in the bar sees that happen and blearily assumes that the big dude is beating up that nice pretty lady.

Click here for the rest of this hilarious blog!

untitled
Taken recently when Adam and Sauli dined at Fig and Olive in West Hollywood.

It’s all over the internet Glambs! Evidently, after too much alcohol, Adam and Sauli got into a fight inside a gay bar in Finland. Sauli’s “Big Brother” co-star and girlfriend tried to break up the fight, and were caught in the fray.

I’m not trying to start a riot amongst the fans by reporting this. I’m only bringing it to your attention. As for the comment already about them not being in a good relationship, I don’t understand where that is coming from. I haven’t heard or read a single negative remark about their relationship. Everyone has fights - - just that most of us don’t do it in public, with alcohol-enhancement, and if we did, the news wouldn’t care.

The good news is it’s all over now, and things look cheery again – at least from the outside.

Adam’s father took to Twitter a few hours ago, as only a proud, supportive dad can do. The pun is brilliant!

Miles Tougeaux @adamlambert on the plus side: best morning google alert of the year

Miles Tougeaux and apparently it wasnt really a fight to the Finnish.

And even with a hangover, Adam was still tweeting! This came in around 8 AM Pacific this morning:

I don’t have much more, so I’ll just post the articles I’m finding.

Love ya! And even though I’m sure I’ll still be reporting more on this, I want to take this time to wish Adam and Sauli, and all our readers a very Happy Holidays! :)

From www.wetpaint.com:
American Idol alum Adam Lambert was arrested in Helsinki at around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday morning after getting into a huge fight with his Finnish boyfriend, Big Brother winner Sauli Koskinen.

According to Perez Hilton, Adam and Sauli got into a massive argument at a local gay bar, Don’t Tell Momma. Sources revealed that before the duo even left the club, punches were thrown and heated words were exchanged.

Apparently Sauli’s Big Brother co-star Niko Nousiainen and his girlfriend — who were also at the club — tried to put an end to the fight, but both ended up on the “receiving end of Adam’s wrath.” However, the injuries sustained by Niko’s girlfriend were reportedly accidental.

Follow-up article from wetpaint.com:
Adam Lambert and Boyfriend Sauli Koskinen “Laughing” Over Alcohol-Induced Brawl That Led to Arrest
by Whitney Ricketts

Mom was right: Nothing good happens after midnight. As we previously reported, American Idol alum Adam Lambert got into a drunken brawl with his boyfriend, Finnish reality star Sauli Koskinen, at 4:00 a.m. Thursday morning in Helsinki, and the pair was arrested and taken to jail. The couple was partying with friends at gay bar Don’t Tell Mama — but then the merriment took an angry turn.

Finnish newspaper Iltalehti has the play-by-play: “According to Sauli’s Big Brother costar Niko Nousiainen, the two started a verbal argument which they took to the DTM kitchen. All of a sudden Sauli’s sister runs out to say that help is needed. When Niko got to the kitchen they were wrestling on the floor.” The police were called to break up the brawl and Sauli and Adam were taken to be interrogated at the police station, at which point they reportedly told authorities “they were both fairly intoxicated” and they did not want to press charges against the other. The pair has since been released from jail and the case is now closed, according to Finnish authorities.

Adam Lambert gave us an early holiday gift a few days ago, with the release of Better Than I Know Myself, his first single from his upcoming second album, Trespassing. (I almost put sophomore, but I’ve grown so tired of seeing that term - LOL!) I posted the song immediately and the comments here, as well as other sites have surprised me.

There definitely seems to be two distinct camps of Adam Lambert fans: those who are happy with whatever Adam may be singing, and those who are not as happy when there’s song production. Unless you go to an “unplugged” version like Adam Acoustic!, I don’t think that’s possible on a major release. And IMO, I don’t think that’s Adam’s desire right now. We heard him say over and over, that he wasn’t releasing it until it was exactly what he wanted.

Perhaps it’s also the type of song. I guess some want Rocker Adam, the super-hot glam guy we saw on pre-Idol videos (“Crawl Through Fire” at The Zodiac comes to mind!) and the more daring Idol performances. Maybe I’m not so surprised by the calling out of the style. We’ve known about these two fan bases since the For Your Entertainment CD was released and the comments came pouring in. What does surprise me is that since we’ve waited so long for new music, some listeners were so quick voicing their disappointment.

All that debate aside, here’s a review that is an honest, fresh breath of air to read. Thank you to arjanwrites.com for the following.

Adam Lambert is easily one of the most noteworthy and talented new artists American Idol has uncovered in a very, very long time. With a unique style of his own and killer vocals, Lambert is a born entertainer who is not afraid to take a risk to express his genuine artistry.

After finishing up his game-changing stint on American Idol, things turned unexpectedly rocky for Lambert. I vividly remember his much-criticized American Music Awards performance back in 2009 when (in the heat of moment) he kissed one of his male band members that led to an outrage among some viewers.

I applauded Lambert for that moment. He may not have realized it at the time, but he stood up for tolerance and pushed a boundary that desperately needed to be pushed. In fact, I believe Lambert changed things for the better by challenging ignorance and he paved the way for other (male) artists to express themselves freely from that point forward.

The positive, long-term impact aside, the AMA incident put a dark cloud over the release of his “For Your Entertainment” LP. Instead of talking about his music (and stellar collaborations with people like Sam Sparro and Lady Gaga), Lambert ended up defending his actions in every single interview that was set up to talk about his debut record.

With the heartfelt and beautifully-performed “Whataya Want from Me,” “For Your Entertainment” did end up delivering one massive radio hit that put Lambert in pole position for continued success. Part of Lambert’s ongoing success has also been the unconditional loyalty of his fans. When I met Lambert backstage at the 53rd GRAMMY Awards last January, he spoke specifically about the love of his fans and how he enjoys being on Twitter to interact with them and get their feedback.

Almost two years after the release of “For Your Entertainment,” Lambert returns with the brand-new “Better Than I Know Myself” that gives listeners a taste of his new album, entitled “Trespassing.” It’s a record that Lambert calls “transformational” and its stories are very much based on his personal experience over the last two years.

The following was taken from Juneau & Xena’s Daily Update.

This was posted on the Sony/ATV Music Publishing Site and later taken down. Writers credited on it are Rune Westberg, Zac Maloy and Adam Lambert, with the artist simply listed as “Demo Artist” (but that voice is unmistakably Adam’s). Thumbs up, down or sideways?

After Adam Lambert’s jaw dropping performance singing with Queen on MTV’s EMAs, the Irish Times has declared everything we’ve known about Adam on this side of the Atlantic for almost 3 years. They even call him a “megastar in the making.” I beg to differ, but we Glambs and Glamberts already think he’s arrived! :)

Here’s the text from the article. My heart glows even more with each new paragraph. I’m so proud to be an Adam Lambert fan! :)

GLAMBERT RULES
Irish Times November 11, 2011 by John Kearns
If anyone was in any doubt that Adam Lambert was a superstar-in-waiting, his performance with Queen at the MTV EMA 2011 will dispel any question of whether or not this singer is the real deal. Lambert’s adoring fans have known for a couple of years that their hero has everything it takes to be a total musical icon. His introduction to the limelight was of course on American Idol and his amazing vocal range, total charisma and androgynous beauty made the United States sit up and take notice.

This artist is brimming with star quality and has all the credentials to be the biggest pop/rock phenomenon on the planet for the next five years. If the work ethic muscle continues to be flexed and lady luck smiles Adam could seriously be on the way to another stratosphere.

It’s like a powerful machine with all the necessary components firmly in position and the engine is ready to roar. The mechanical side of things is in perfect working order – great albums already recorded with another even better one ready to drop and that undeniably killer voice ready to be unleashed. The sleek chrome-plated design is also prepared and polished – Adam’s sartorial sparkle and image so elegantly complete the picture.

Some artists are all about the music and others have an image bigger than their actual talent, whereas this singer shines like a diamond in both departments. Gifted and glamorous in equal measure Lambert is set to blow through the industry like a stylish swaggering superstar storm and claim his place as the new king of the download charts.

Speaking of royalty, the manner in which he tackled those throat-bursting Queen anthems was an astounding spectacle to behold. There is no hiding place when it comes to taking on a Freddie Mercury vocal and the medley of musical monuments were expertly executed by Lambert with room to spare. May, Taylor (and Deacon) were genuinely thrilled to have him on board and I’m sure Freddie would most definitely have approved of the band’s choice for microphone duties on the night.

Credit where it is due – Adam Lambert is an awesome performer and a megastar in the making.
The fact is that he always has been; it’s just been kept a bit of a secret until now.

A couple, wanting to make their wedding memorable, found a unique way to start it off. I just found this YouTube floating around all over Twitter and think you’ll love it too.

Melanie and Liat - the Official Unofficial Site for the Adam Lambert Community wish you the best!! Our thanks to Skyracer21 for posting this.

interview-aaron-hicklin1

Adam Lambert sat down with OUT Editor-In-Chief Aaron for a second interview, briefly touching on their past. You may remember the brouhaha from two years ago, when Hicklin wrote a letter to Adam, calling Adam’s conduct as a gay man with the media, into question. Glambs and Glamberts took to the e-waves, calling Hicklin out (no pun intended!) on his message.

Now Adam and Aaron talk again, focusing on Adam’s growth and the music we’re waiting for from Adam. I love that we get another instance of the media realizing Adam’s incredibly powered fan base! All “gazillion” of us! :)

Adam Revisited
11.7.2011
By Aaron Hicklin

Adam Lambert tells Editor in Chief Aaron Hicklin what he’s learned in the two years since he appeared on the cover of the 2009 Out100.

Two years ago, in the 2009 Out100, we anointed Adam Lambert “Breakout Star of the Year,” and shot him for the cover, alongside Dan Choi, Wanda Sykes, Cyndi Lauper, and Rob Marshall. In the accompanying editor’s letter I took the entertainment industry to task for the way they control and limit access to the gay press, using our experience with Adam’s publicist at the time as my example. In hindsight, I was mistaken to address the letter directly to Adam: Although the massive response from his loyal fan base started a valuable debate, my letter was received as a personal attack that muddied the message. Lambert rightly sought to defend himself, in part by demonstrating his independence at the American Music Awards, when he simulated oral sex and kissed one of his band members. A lot of time has passed, and we can look back on that firestorm with cooler heads—so cool, in fact, that we were able to chat together, something we should have done first time around. This year we are honoring Adam for the way in which he has held true to his identity as a gay man while managing a successful musical career, a balancing act that is no mean feat. As he told The Advocate recently, “No one teaches you how to be a gay celebrity.” In a very real way he is leading the way.

Adam Lambert: I heard your name and thought, Oh, here we go!

Aaron Hicklin: You know, I was putting this together, and I realized that it was two years since we put you on the cover of the 2009 Out100. It struck me as important that this time we actually speak to each other.

AL: I agree. I have no hard feelings. That was then, and I’ve learned a lot.
AH: I have too. And I learned a lot from the experience of using my editor letter [as a critique of the entertainment industry]—good and bad, frankly. For a start, I realized you have a gazillion passionate fans and every single one was determined to make sure I knew they existed [laughs].

AL: Yes, they’re very verbal.
AH: They certainly are, and some of them still communicate with me, and I’ve made an effort to respond to as many as I can.

AL: It’s an interesting dynamic, because I think the thing that’s ironic about it is that the photo session for Details [in which Lambert posed, controversially, with a nude female model], the one that we were talking about, was kind of done to play out the fantasy of many of my female fans.

They have deep imaginations, and there’s a lot of fantasy fiction that’s written on the Internet. I try not to read it because it can be a little creepy, but I know it’s something they really get into. So, for me, it was like, OK, I’ve lived my entire life as a gay man; I’m very comfortable with that. And all of a sudden, I have the opportunity to do this photo shoot, to play the opposite stereotype of the straight, butch guy. I found it really interesting, creatively, and didn’t think for one minute that I was toning anything down or trying to change who I was, so much as playing into a fantasy that I knew was really, really present, having been on tour all summer, having women throw their bras at me, and all that crazy shit. I will say that, on the flip side, timing is everything. That’s one thing that I’ve learned a lot about this year. I was still introducing myself to the masses then and, to me, on my own personal journey, it seemed like an interesting thing to do.

Sometimes I’m not as objective as I could be, and I don’t look at things from the perspective of a first-time audience. That definitely was somewhat the case with the American Music Awards performance [when Adam simulated oral sex and kissed his keyboard player]. I didn’t quite put myself in the position of the viewer at home that had watched me on American Idol and, the next time they see me on TV, it’s that performance. The AMA thing was maybe a little too much, too soon, and the photo shoot for Details, although very beautiful, maybe it wasn’t the right timing.

AH: But two years on, I’m curious about what you’ve learned about yourself in this process since you’ve, very transparently, gone from a contestant on a show whose success represented a radical breakthrough to becoming a superstar. It must have been pretty exhausting and demanding and emotionally draining in many ways.

AL: Yeah, it was definitely a lot to take on. But whenever I would feel overwhelmed or stressed out, the thing that kept me balanced is that I really do appreciate the opportunity I have. If I was a little younger, I wouldn’t have dealt with it so well. I’m 29, and having been in the entertainment industry throughout my entire twenties in Los Angeles, I grew almost, like, a Teflon coating, rather than being a kid from Ohio just jumping into it.

AH: So you were prepared to some extent?

AL: No one can really prepare you fully. There were things I was very surprised by [laughs] and had to learn quickly, and had to learn the hard way.

AH: And you probably weren’t prepared to have me pouncing on you…
AL: No, but all’s fair in that game. I think it’s been character building, which is great, and it’s definitely put me where I’m at now. I think the hardest thing about being a gay celebrity is that we’re in the middle of a social rights movement and it’s a very hot topic, so we’re at a very pivotal time. Coming out was great, but there are certain issues that always surprise me and I think, Why is this an issue? I live and I’ve grown up in a space that is very accepting and open-minded; I surround myself socially with people that are artists and very bohemian and I forget sometimes that, OK, we’re dealing with mainstream culture now, which does not have the same mentality as I do. I think, too, that by nature I’m very contrary. If you tell me I can’t do something then I’m gonna push back harder and do it. I’m kind of rebellious, but I try to do it with a smile. I’m not a jerk about it.

Adam Lambert thrilled the world by singing with Queen on the American Idol Finale, and he’s done it again! Adam and Queen sang a medley of songs tonight for the European Music Awards shown locally on MTV3. Queen received the award for Global Icon and they closed the show with none other than Adam Lambert as their lead singer.

Bryan May really meant what he said a few years ago when he said he’d love to have Adam sing with them again! I just found the video, and want to post it ASAP for you all!! :)

Enjoy this Glambs and Glamberts!! We welcome ALL your comments! :)

The show as a whole beat out April’s debut as MTV’s biggest live stream ever, nearly doubling the previous numbers. Preliminary numbers for the Oct. 31 livestream indicate 1.4 million, but are subject to change. Fans cast more than 22.3 million votes for their favorite artists, leading Bjork, Adam Lambert, Tokio Hotel and Nirvana to take home a few of the night’s big prizes.

Well, I don’t think Adam Lambert shocked anyone when he revealed his homosexuality, via the infamous Rolling Stone interview. But according to Noah Michelson and The Huffington Post, Adam fits in with their article titled “25 Celebrity Coming Out Stories That Shocked The World.”

I have nothing more to say, other than I’m just bringing you any news about Adam! :) Let’s file this one under Any Publicity is Good Publicity! I’m reprinting the intro and the piece on Adam. For the other 24 SHOCKING reveals, check here.

“Star Trek” actor Zachary Quinto’s coming out as gay via a profile in New York magazine made a lot of noise this weekend.

Even in 2011, with the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell” and gay marriage legal in New York, an A-list actor’s decision to leave the closet isn’t one made hastily or without losing some sleep.

The fear of being shunned by casting directors concerned about a gay actor’s ability to convincingly play straight and worries that he or she will end up alienating a major portion of his or her fan base has kept and continues to keep many in Hollywood closeted.

Still, we’ve come a long way over the past 25 years and as more and more stars make the choice to come out, the LGBT “community” gains new role models, especially important for isolated youth, and greater visibility overall which helps alter, shape, and define the way mainstream society understands and views what it means to be LGBT.

In honor of Quinto’s coming out, HuffPost Gay Voices is taking a look at 24 other celebrities who shocked the world by coming out of the closet. Vote on the most shocking and tell us which story surprised you the most in the comments section below.

Adam Lambert, 2009
The singer’s sexuality was always a topic of discussion for viewers when he was performing on “American Idol,” but Lambert didn’t come out until after the competition had wrapped. In a June 2009 Rolling Stone cover story, Lambert said, “Right after the finale [of "AI"], I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,’.. I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context.”

Many of you have heard about the upcoming release of Beg For Mercy and may still be puzzled. This is NOT Adam Lambert’s second album, but something he worked on before American Idol with long-time friend and musical partner, Monte Pittman.

We all know how much Monte cares for Adam and the respect he has for Adam’s vocal ability. Monte has written the following about Beg For Mercy and posted it on his website. It makes it clear how he feels about it. Also check out Monte’s newest album Pain, Love & Destiny at his website.

Since last week’s announcement of the “Beg for Mercy” album, there has been an intense amount of speculation regarding this seemingly mysterious album. There has also been an extreme amount of criticism being slung around at myself and other musicians who were involved with this project. I would like to address this as honestly and as openly as possible, in hopes that I can shed some light on this for those who have until now been left in the dark.

Let me first start by clearing up the differences between “Take One”, “The Paramount Sessions” and “Beg For Mercy.” “Take One” & “The Paramount Sessions” are a group of songs written by a person under the moniker of Dublyn Jones. Steve Sidelnyk, Marcus Brown and myself performed the instrumental portion of those songs, as directed. I was asked if I knew of any good singers to sing on those songs, and since Adam Lambert and I had a band together at the time, we agreed that it would be a great opportunity for Adam, having never played in a band or recorded in a studio before, to sing on the tracks. Who wouldn’t want one of the best singers ever (in my opinion) singing on anything and everything? The whole session was engineered by Malcolm Welsford, the same producer of “Beg For Mercy.” At the time, we were all paid very generously.

The “Beg For Mercy” album contains songs that Adam and I wrote and recorded prior to him entering the “American Idol” competition. It was a collaboration between the two of us. Brian Frasier – Moore played drums; Rickey Pageot & Eric Mayron played keyboards on these recordings. I do not have any control of the release of any of these recordings, and I haven’t had any involvement with these songs since we recorded them. In fact, they have been out of my hands since before Adam completed Season 8 of “American Idol.”

Because we signed all of the associated legal paperwork, they are technically allowed to release it. Additionally, I have had and continue to have no control over the timing of these releases; I couldn’t halt or accelerate them even if I wanted to. All performers make money on all recordings that were played and/or written on.

From a purely artistic standpoint, I must admit that I am proud of this music, after finally hearing clips of these songs again as of last week (hearing finished for the first time here: http://adamlambertalbum.com). I still think they’re great songs years later. There is a lot of heart and soul and positive energy that went into this at the time, which I cannot deny. I have always composed and performed music because I love doing so and because I have a true passion for it. It’s in my blood. And when we recorded these songs at the time, we hoped anything we did would be as big as it could possibly be; no limitations. And I’d imagine that would still come through in this music.

I can’t deny that “Beg For Mercy” is something we both put our heart and soul into at the time. However, I’m focused on my new album, “Pain, Love & Destiny”, which was released last week, and Adam is hard at work recording his new album.

With that said, my honest thoughts are that if you like what you hear, you should buy it and support everyone involved with this album. And if you don’t like it, then you shouldn’t buy it. As fans, that is your prerogative. However, illegal downloading of any music is wrong any way you look at it.

But I urge you to please not fling any unnecessary negative criticism or anger at any musicians involved with this project. At the end of the day, it’s just music. And music is the reason we’re all here, right?

Thank you for your support and for allowing me to address these rumors. Listen for yourself to the songs and you be the judge.

Love,
Monte Pittman

To have your song covered is a mark of success. Adam Lambert had that on last season’s The Voice, and now it’s happened again. On Monday’s The Sing Off, female a cappella group Delilah sang Whataya Want From Me and received rave reviews. I find it interesting that some of Delilah’s members were part of other groups that appeared on seasons’ one and two of The Sing Off. How smart was that?

If you haven’t seen this show before, it’s a competition between singing groups who sing a cappella – using only their voices to sing the melodies with beat box accompaniment. The styles range from traditional to gospel to rap. All of the groups feature several members who can sing powerhouse vocals. Returning this season as judges are Ben Folds (The Ben Folds Five) and Shawn Stockman (Boys to Men). New to the panel is singer Sara Bareilles. These judges really speak with knowledge and address the technical aspects of the performance. The show airs Mondays and Tuesdays.

Catch Delilah’s performance of Adam’s song below, courtesy of mrduckbear11. Do you think the ladies purposely wore pink to honor Pink, the song’s author? Thank goodness they also threw in some black leather and sparkles! Accident? I think not! I’ve also included their incredible version of Bruno Mars’ Grenade, from the first week. Thanks again to mrduckbear11 for this. For both videos, follow the link to watch on youtube. Sorry I couldn’t find it to play from the site.

Thank you to our reader Patrice80 for pointing me to another charming video of Adam Lambert and Heidi Klum sharing some talk time. I love the ease that they have with each other. Notice how closely they’re sitting to each other. They look right into each other’s eyes and have a great connection. Swoon!

Was that a Pinocchio move she made, questioning Adam’s answer on who had more make up on? When he says he wears it because he doesn’t want to look 12, and she says “what’s wrong with that?” catch her smile directly into the camera. Not sure if Adam heard that! That would have been a fun response to hear from him!

Thanks again to our super reader Patrice80 for giving us this! We love all our reader’s involvement! :)

Here’s an extra video I just found from Adam’s Project Runway appearance. He’s chatting with the gorgeous Heidi Klum. She’s a pretty good interviewer too! A lot better than many we’ve seen. She asked something I’ve never heard before – what does Adam sing in his car? I’ll leave it for you to learn as you watch the video!

Heidi has a unique connection with Adam because she’s married to recording artist, Seal. She shares some things they’ve had in common! Is it just me, or do you think Adam was a bit awkward with the High 5 at the end?

Adam Lambert sat down with ETOnline on the set of Majors and Minors, where he’s doing a guest spot as a mentor, and let us in to his thoughts about his upcoming album and his style.

After discussing it with so many and finding depending on which song he was working on at the time, he may be giving multiple ideas about his next album’s direction. Because of this, he’s decided to stop talking . . . at least about particular sounds on the album. He will talk about his increased participation, recently receiving an Executive Producer moniker. He also talks about his evolving fashion style. He says he’s going darker. Adam, how much darker than black can you go?!?

Adam Lambert and his mother Leila Lambert received awards yesterday in Beverly Hills, CA from the PFLAG organization. PFLAG stands for Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbian and Gay. Even though there were scary periods in his life when coming to terms with his homosexuality, Adam admits his experience was relatively easy. And he feels his liberal parents were a part of that ease.

When describing the actual time of disclosure, Adam and Leila joke that one of her first reactions was “great – more shopping!” I’d love to hear about some of those shopping trips. The following video is their acceptance speech, complete with a description of the awards received.

Adam Lambert served as a Guest Judge on last night’s Project Runway. IMO . . . he was the BEST GUEST JUDGE EVER! Even some of the designers agree! Watch the extra video below to hear the designers’ flattering opinions about Adam’s stint as a judge. He seemed to enjoy himself quite a bit, even answering a tweet earlier this week that asked “What was your favorite part about being on Project Runway?” His Tweetser: @catalm the judges are reeeeally funny. On and off camera. Micheal had me in stitches w his wit.

Okay, I can’t hold back any longer - could there have been more of a mismatch between Adam and The Sheepdogs??!! I know fashion is fashion, but for a musical challenge, I was hoping for a bit more Rock and Roll. I can only wonder what was going through Adam’s mind when he was listening to them play on the runway. As a consummate professional, he did his best and even moved to the beat with an intense expression. But I think Adam’s laughter during the judges’ comments about the fashions told the story. A mixture of Scooby Doo and the $2 bin at Salvation Army!

By the way, on the show when the safe designers were leaving the stage, did you notice the special smiles pointed in Adam’s direction by Joshua and Anthony Ryan? I did!!

Adam Lambert took to Twitter on Tuesday to talk with his fans. I submitted some questions immediately, but none got picked. Did yours? Thanks to Adamholic, we have the script.

As fans, we can feel the love from Adam for us. Thanks to social media, he’s able to reach out to us, keep us informed and just stay as real as a celebrity can!

Adam had a twitter party two days ago. In the middle of it, he posted:
Adam: POST GAY. look it up. sums up my views

So I did. According to Urban Dictionary : (Yes, there are misspellings. I’m just doing a copy/paste.)

Post-gay

The notion that homosexuals should be able to define their identities by something other than sexual preference.

Post-gay types ought to be comfortable in gay ghetto situations, lest they suffer some sort of internalized homophobia, while realizing that many ghettoized gays are tasteless loosers.

Post-gays are out of the closet and care about gay rights and gay issues. Their stance on identity and culture is a reaction against the fetishization of gay stereotypes by some self-proclaimed liberal types (such as faghags) as well as cultural sepratists (such as queers). They tend to refer to themselves as ‘gay’ and only invoke the word ‘post-gay’ in the presence of the tasteless losers who have co-opted the falsehood of a monolithic gay culture.

Post-gays also realize the history of the struggle for gay equality and know they their attitude can only exist in enviornments where gays are already integrated and accepted. It is only within these enviornments that they critique others.

Also from hardyboy.com:
“Post-gay isn’t ‘ungay. It’s about taking a critical look at gay life and no longer thinking solely in terms of a struggle. It’s going to a gay bar and wishing there were some girls there to talk to.” So spoke James Collard, then Editor-in-Chief of Out Magazine, to a June 1998 symposium at the New School for Social Research. (“Sexual politics”).

Adam has led a balanced life. His friends are spread wide across the personality spectrum. I think this is the Adam we first heard when he said he didn’t want to be a spokesperson for the homosexual community. His focus was music, and being gay wasn’t the defining point to his personality; it was merely one of his qualities or characteristics. Like his eye color.

While Adam Lambert was in New York several weeks ago, he stopped in at Project Runway and was a guest judge! The theme is Rock and Roll, so who better to marry the musical genre with fashion?

From the following promo video for the September 22, 2011 episode, we see another rocker’s Glambulge is getting some attention. Sorry Glambs - I couldn’t resist!!

We’ve been waiting forever for this and now it’s here! Don’t worry - if you don’t catch it tonight, it replays several times during the week on Lifetime.

Adam Lambert spent time with Skingraft owner/designer Jonny Cota for MTV’s talk@playground, discussing the marriage of fashion and music. Adam has been a longtime fan and patron of Skingraft, receiving many of his Idol and Glam Nation Tour pieces from the Los Angeles-based company. In the following video, we get to see Adam and Jonny discussing their growth as artists. It’s obvious from their tone, that these two are old friends.

You can also see Skingraft designs on this season’s Vampire Diaries. Super sexy vampire Damian Salvatore, played by the super sexy Ian Sommerhalder is sporting a virile studded leather jacket in the Season 3 promo.

Check out Skingraft’s incredible line here.

Enjoy these clips of Adam and Jonny discussing how music inspires clothes and clothes inspire music. The smiles are precious! Thank you to Devenlane for giving us the video.

Although I can’t confirm it, there are plenty of other sites willing to “confirm” that Adam Lambert will be on an upcoming episode of Project Runway! The man certainly knows his fashion, and this could make for a great episode!

From Bridgett P. LaVictoire at lezgetreal.com:
It appears that the answer to whether or not Adam Lambert will be appearing on Project Runway this season is a ‘yes.’ Rumors began that he would be appearing on the show back in July, but this week, it appears that a representative from RCA had confirmed the appearance of Lambert on the show. In response to a message left on Lambert’s website asking if the singer would be on the show, a representative from RCA known as Ed, answered only “Yes, he will.”

Project Runway’s producers keep future guests under tight wraps, though, and it is unknown when Lambert will appear on the show. However, Renee Snyder of Gather.com believes that it could be soon. She wrote “Someone noticed that in this week’s episode, the Empire State Building has red, white, and blue lights. This is a good indicator that episode seven was filmed during the week of July 4. We already know that Adam was in New York to tape the show around July 14 based on one of his tweets from that week. Therefore, it is likely that we are two weeks away from seeing Adam on Project Runway.”

Adam Lambert will be appearing on The Hub’s Majors & Minors as a mentor to young singing talent. Adam’s childhood years in theater make him a natural to guide these youthful performers. It’s wonderful that another facet of the music industry has recognized Adam’s unique talents and abilities. Music World Domination is one step closer, Glambs!

How long will Adam appear on the show? Considering Adam’s busy upcoming schedule promoting the release of his second album, it’s unlikely that this will be a recurring role. Mentors will probably change each week. Along with Adam, other mentors are Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis, Sean Kingston, Colbie Caillat, Avril Lavigne and Brandy. The following promo video gives me a feel like Majors & Minors will be similar The Glee Project. I love it that Adam is the first celebrity mentor shown! :)

Adam has already shown his mentoring skills during Season 9 of American Idol. He was the first Idol contestant to be asked to mentor a current cast of hopefuls. Adam tried his best to “wake up” those kids, but even Adam couldn’t do the impossible!

Let’s revisit Adam showing his mentoring prowess on American Idol!

Majors & Minors is debuting Friday, Sept 23; 8 PM Eastern/5 PM Pacific on The Hub. To locate your Hub channel, click here.

Here are some little extra tidbits I just found. This feels like we are spending a few moments sitting on the couch with Adam Lambert and having a regular conversation!

Although we’re getting more information about subjects we’ve already heard him talk about in the first two clips, the 3rd clip is real bonus. He talks about making out with girls in high school. This is truly something that I’ve never heard him discuss before. We knew it happened, but now he opens up about the emotions he felt. There are 30-secondcommercial intros before each clip, but have patience, you will be rewarded! :)

Adam on His Controversial Album Cover

Adam on the Concept for If I Had You Video Shoot

Adam on his Past and Kissing Girls

On the Red Carpet for the 2nd day in a row, Adam Lambert told the press at the VH1 Do Something Now Awards, that he’s into a certain kind of men’s shoe right now – the ‘Medge.’ To all us women who’ve been wearing them for decades now, they’re just wedges, but the “M” makes it a Men’s Wedge. They’ve caught onto our secret ladies! The wedge is a slightly more comfortable high heel. What’s next? Milettos?

To be honest, I’m more fascinated with his stunning necklace. What’s he call that one? A Mecklace??

Video by Carol Hagey (for better quality, see Suz526 video, below)

Adam Lambert received the Equality Idol Award last night in a room full of Los Angeles leaders, members and supporters of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The award was bestowed by Equality California, the largest statewide LGBT-rights advocacy organization working to achieve equality and civil rights for all of California’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender citizens. Adam received his award for “using his newfound fame to act as a fearless, outspoken advocate for LGBT kids and quickly won the hearts of youth desperate for positive role models. He shot a video message as part of the “It Gets Better” campaign to help LGBT youth overcome bullying and alienation. He also released a song, “Aftermath,” to benefit the Trevor Project, a national suicide-prevention hotline for LGBT youth,” as stated in the event program. Other honorees included Facebook, receiving the Equality Advocate Award and New York Assembly member Daniel J. O’Donnell, receiving the Equality Leadership Award. Mr O’Donnell is the attorney sponsor of the recently passed New York Marriage Equality Act and also the brother of Rosie O’Donnell. From last night’s program, “In 2007, O’Donnell introduced the Marriage Equality Act which would have guaranteed LGBT people in New York the right to marry. The bill passed the assembly and had the support of then-Governor Eliot Spitzer. But it was blocked by the Republican-controlled state senate. He tried again in 2009 and successfully passed the bill twice before seeing it shot down by the Republicans once again. May 10, 2011, Assemblyman O’Donnell introduced the Marriage Equality Act. Just a few weeks later, on June 24th, Governor Mario Cuomo signed the bill into law.”

Facebook received its award for their leading role in the LGBT community. They recorded the 2010 “It Gets Better” video project, which Adam Lambert had an appearance in. According to the program from last night’s awards, the video “featured Facebook employees telling their stories about being young and LGBT and offering support and encouragement to GLBT youth who are struggling. Following a number of LGBT suicides, Facebook further combatted anti-LGBT bullying by forming a “Network of Support,” which includes partnerships with a range of LGBT organizations.” They have also added “domestic partner” and “civil union” to their relationship status options.

Okay, now that we’re done with the formal reporting, let’s talk about how amazing the event was. First, I was lucky enough to attend this event with Glamworld-famous videographer, the incredible Suz526! She and I drove up from San Diego, having no expectations of what our evening would be like. We didn’t even know until a few days ago that Adam would actually be in attendance! Suz had one other friend at the event, Julie, better known to you all on Twitter as AZGlamFan who came with her husband from Arizona, as you probably guessed. Julie was lucky enough to catch Adam, Sauli and Leila on the Red Carpet. Me? I had a martini in my hand, checking out the Silent Auction items and was unfortunately oblivious to the Red Carpet. Rats. To be honest, I was so happy that Glamberts didn’t take over this affair, as they did the Grammy Rock Star Summit on Social Media. Not that I want to be selfish, but I didn’t want the other honorees to feel shadowed. Fortunately, this was not the case.

One of the sponsors was Blue Angel Vodka, so the most delicious martinis were circulating around the outer reception room, being offered by the most gracious wait staff. The Beverly Hilton certainly knows how to attend to their guests! Hors d’oeuvres were for the taking, but I didn’t want to crowd my hands. It was challenging enough trying to maintain amongst the largest gathering of the most sparkly, well dressed and groomed people I’d ever been in!

Guests were encouraged by the Host EQCA representatives to register and bid on the Silent Auction. I’ve never attended a silent auction and was quite impressed with the set-up. I don’t mean to insult the more sophisticated readers, but I’d like to share their great system. First, the registration desk slid our credit card and we were given a sheet of almost 40 barcode stickers, complete with our private number. Next, we visited tables full of wonderful trips, restaurant offerings, movie packages, art pieces, wine tasting trips, spa visits, gym memberships, and more. Many of these items were completely neutral, but several had content that reminded you what event you were attending. LOL! These were all donated items. Each item had a sheet with progressing dollar amounts listed. If you found something you wanted to bid on, you placed your barcoded sticker next to the dollar amount you wanted to bid. We were told we would receive notice later that night if we won. Unfortunately my bid for the 2 dozen gourmet cupcakes wasn’t high enough. I guess that’s good and bad.

Next we were ushered into the main banquet room for dinner and the evening’s awards. We enjoyed a delicious dinner while key representatives from the EQCA made speeches. (OMG the most fabulous filet I’ve ever eaten and something we named Risotto in Disguise. The trio of chocolate cheesecakes was heavenly too!) Suzanne and I shared our table and the rest of the evening with 3 of the most delightful gay couples, one of which was on their first date. It was so cute to watch them look and giggle with each other! I sat next to Jean-Guy, originally from Quebec and his partner, Joe. I found Joe’s story fascinating when he told me he had 3 teenage sons, and had been married for 17 years. His marriage did not break up because he was gay, in fact he didn’t really explore that until well after the divorce. His 3 sons never blink an eye at accepting their father. One son has told him that sexuality isn’t even a part of his thinking, and they completely accept school friends who are gay. I was amazed all evening of how welcomed we were by this fabulous community. In fact, Jean-Guy and Joe told us a few times how glad they were that two straight women had driven 2 ½ hours to attend this event. Little do they know the lengths we’ve gone to, to celebrate Adam!

One speaker who brought tears and aching hearts to everyone was Wendy Walsh, the mother of 13-year old Seth Walsh, the boy who took his life after suffering bullying. Legislature named Seth’s Law followed. See here for more details.

On the other side of emotions, singer Jasmine Jonas really got the room going when she sang Defying Gravity, from Wicked. As soon as the accompanying pianist played the opening bars, almost everyone in the room let out a cheer. I guess the song has become somewhat of an anthem for the gay community. I just loved the irony, seeing how Adam was in the audience too. Her voice was beautiful. Here’s a clip of Jasmine singing Defying Gravity, from another time.

Before Adam received his award, Kathy Griffin was on stage to present the award to Facebook. She made it an absolutely incredible evening for everyone there when she went off-course and started singing Mad World, hoping Adam would join her on stage. When he didn’t, she took a microphone into the crowd, seeking out Adam, who was loving “making her squirm.” Thank goodness for the quick-thinking of whoever brought her the microphone! Thanks so much to Suz526 for having the video camera going during Kathy’s speech. Now you all get to enjoy what we did too!

Next was the topper to the evening; time for presentation of Adam’s award. Here’s the full video shot by Suz526, with intro by Sam Sparro. At 2:29, a completely human moment of Adam’s was shared with us all, when Adam thought it was his time to come to the stage, only to be told “just a moment” by Sparro.

We can see Adam’s growth in his acceptance as a role model. Remember when Rolling Stone came out and Adam was criticized by a magazine editor (I’m sorry I can’t remember his name, but I know you know who I’m talking about) for not being the right kind of gay public figure? And Adam’s position was he wasn’t trying to be a spokesperson, just a singer? Now, he seems to have accepted that role and is doing great things with it.

I felt incredibly honored to have been given the chance to attend this event. I hope you all are able to support Equality in any way you can. Pardon my preaching, but the world will be a much nicer place with it.

Love ya!

This is just in from Shirley Halperin and The Hollywood Reporter. I doubt there will be anything about this mentioned on VH1’s Behind the Music, debuting Sunday, August 7, 2011, at 10 PM.

The “American Idol” alum is signing with Direct Management Group, whose client roster includes Katy Perry, K.D. Lang and The Go-Go’s.

Adam Lambert is parting ways with 19 Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The American Idol runner-up from season 8 is signing with Direct Management Group, whose client roster includes Katy Perry, K.D. Lang and The Go-Go’s.
DMG was founded in 1985 by partners Martin Kirkup and Steven Jensen and is based in Los Angeles. In the past, the company has also worked with Miranda Cosgrove and Jamie Cullum.

Lambert, whose debut album For Your Entertainment has sold nearly a million copies, isn’t the first Idol graduate to leave the confines of 19, the company with exclusive rights to the show’s stars. The original Idol, Kelly Clarkson, and season 3 winner Fantasia both found managers independent of the Idol machine, while Carrie Underwood opted to remain with Idol creator Simon Fuller at his company, XIX Entertainment (Fuller also manages current Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina). Most recently, Chris Daughtry’s manager Stirling McIlwaine left 19 to open his own firm, taking his client with him.
But while Lambert may be exiting, 19 will long reap the profits of its relationship with the singer. The company stands to pocket royalties from his five RCA Records releases, which include a live and remix album, as well as merchandise and other ancillary revenue streams.

And while it’s not clear whether he had a so-called “sunset clause” in his contract, as many Idols do, which details a specific cut-off date on continued profit sharing or a phasing out of commissions, Lambert is still a 19 Recordings artist. In fact, he recently released new music, the song “Outlaws of Love” said to be from his highly anticipated second studio album. Lambert’s “Behind the Music” special airs on VH1 this Sunday, August 8.

A representative for 19 Entertainment tells THR, “Adam remains signed to 19 Recordings as he brings a new management team into his career. We look forward to continued success together.”

Don’t start checking the bridal registries looking for Adam Lambert yet. Even with New York’s legalization of gay marriage, Adam isn’t interested, according to an interview with Ian Drew for USWeekly.com. He’s now qualified that by tweeting, “not in the NEAR future. Get it right.” However, we can start looking forward seeing Adam on Sunday’s upcoming episode of VH1 Behind The Music.

Now that gay marriage is legal in NY state, everybody is placing bets on which gay celebrities will be hopping on a plane to say their vows there. But take your money off of Adam Lambert! Us Weekly talked with the openly gay pop star and American Idol alum about his new episode of VH1 Behind The Music (premiering this Sunday, August 7, at 10 p.m.) and squeezed in a question about his new boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen. Here’s what the infamously open Lambert had to say about marriage for himself.

US: Why did you decide to take part in VH1 Behind the Music?
AL: I have seen previous episodes and it has always been something I have been interested in. I did not have any doubts about doing the show because I had previously done E! True Hollywood Story, which was more biographical. This episode focuses more on my music.
US: What will we see in the episode?
AL: The episode will portray a deeper, more personal view of my life. I was not always happy go lucky and things weren’t always easy. At times things were difficult and confusing. Coming out of American Idol I was thrown into the spotlight so quickly and I faced many obstacles. I am finally starting to feel comfortable in this industry and in my own skin. The fans will get to see how I feel. There wasn’t anything that was off limits for this episode because I am pretty open with my fans. I spoke about a lot.
US: What obstacles have you faced on your journey of becoming an entertainer?
AL: I haven’t really faced many obstacles. I had a great, easy upbringing. I came out of the closet at eighteen and my family was supportive of me. I participated in numerous extracurricular activities and I was involved in the arts, which was an understanding environment. The only thing I found difficult was when I had to audition for the part of a romantically involved straight man because I had a hard time feeling comfortable and understanding the role. On the episode I talk about my experimentation with drugs but it didn’t really affect my career in any way.
US: Do you think your sexual orientation has affected your career?
AL: It has caused controversy and at first I got nervous. This is a tricky career path, especially since most musicians aren’t as open as I am. At first I thought, did I go too far? Was this a mistake? I realized I have to trust my gut and be myself. I can’t please everyone.
US: What is your relationship like with boyfriend Sauli Koskinen? Any marriage plans yet?
AL: I don’t like to talk about my relationship so if you see pictures of us out to dinner together, then great! I don’t see myself getting married in the future.
US: When will we hear new music from you?
AL: I have been busy in the studio writing and recording so that has been taking up most of my time. I have had a lot of time to reflect on my journey. I have learned and grown and evolved. I am proud of the strides I’ve made. I am thinking the album will be out in the fall.
US: Can you describe the material on your upcoming album?
AL: This album is different in that is has a more serious tone. There is definitely fun, upbeat music on there too. This album has a thread of honesty in that it is real and personal. On this album I let people in further. It is an autobiographical album that portrays my dreams and aspirations. There are also some songs that deal with heartache and love. Whereas my old album was fun, campy, and over the top, this album is more contemporary and honest. The last album was more of a fantasy and this album is a search for my identity.
US: Any upcoming plans?
AL: I will be in New York recording the album. Lately I have had more involvement with different sociopolitical campaigns like The Trevor Project and Do Something. There is a quote in the VH1 Behind the Scenes special where I say, “I feel like I am an entertainer, not a politician.” Beforehand I was leery about commenting on certain things but I am now more comfortable voicing my opinion on issues like marriage equality.

In all the hours of your lifetime that you’ve spent thinking about EverythingAdam, either in line waiting for a coveted front row Glam Nation concert spot, or when you’ve been alone in your car or living room listening to that Rock Master’s voice, have you ever tried to figure out how much Adam earned this past year? Take in his share of all the digital and physical sales of his For Your Entertainment album and what he earned from the Glam Nation Tour and special appearances, and whattaya come up with? (Sorry, couldn’t resist!) Now we’re getting some insight, thanks to Zack O’Malley Greenburg and The Beat Report, from Forbes.com.

It’s being reported that Adam earned a rocking $6 million last year, sharing the second spot on the list with Chris Daughtry. We all know Carrie Underwood is the list topper. In fact, she earned more than the next five on the list combined. I’m sure Eber is thankful he continued to support Adam, even when he wasn’t too happy about it. Remember the Idol family episode where they showed him telling Leila that a little success would be a good thing?! Well, he’s sure got it now. The other thing I hope he has a good tax/investment advisor!!

The following paragraph from Greenburg’s article talks about Adam:

Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry share the second spot on our list, each raking in $6 million. Lambert, the runner up in Idol’s seventh season (it was the eighth season - Carol), performed 115 shows around the world in 12 months; Daughtry played 53 dates in support of album Leave This Town. The top ten money-making Idol alums combined to earn $50 million over the past year alone.

Ummm, Daughtry earned $6 million from an album and 53 shows, and Adam earned $6 million from an album and 116 shows?? Anyone else out there afraid they may raise the ticket price for Adam’s next tour?!?

Short and Sweet: Voting is open until 4 PM today (Tuesday, PST) for Mix 94.1’s Sexiest Man of Mix contest. Click HERE to vote.

But just a word of caution - keep a cool head if you read the comments below the voting box. Some aren’t too friendly. We’re so used to reading all the positive thoughts about Adam, and forget that on non-Adam sites that other people have differing opinions!

Keep checking back to learn the results and future voting days.

Today is Adam’s first day of competition in Las Vegas Mix 94.1’s Sexiest Man competition. He’s facing John Mayer in Round 1. Let’s make the numbers so high that no one forgets how sexy this man is! They must have pitted the first place winner of the preliminary poll against the bottom finisher. Adam clearly won the poll with 39% of the vote and John Mayer had 0%!

Vote here as often as you can and want!! As a San Diegan I’m not thrilled that they listed Indianapolis, Indiana as his hometown in his bio but I did get a kick out of the fact he’s had no celebrity girlfriends — not even any celebrity boyfriends. Tee hee!!

The 2nd place finisher in the preliminary poll was cutie Jackson Rathbone from 100 Monkeys with 17%. Check here to see how everyone finished in the poll. The Idol men really showed strong.

Here we go, Glambs and Glamberts – another chance to vote Adam Lambert to the top! This time it’s Sexiest Man of Mix 94.1 radio station. I’m not sure where in the USA this station is, but does it really matter?!

Adam is set for Round 1 of the contest, starting next Monday, July 11th. You may vote as many times as you want. Each round only lasts one day, so you won’t have to drive yourself crazy voting, until he’s up for quarter finals beginning July 22nd. Adam’s up against John Mayer for this first round. Is there any doubt who should win? Of course not, but it will only happen if we vote!

In total, there are 16 gorgeous rock hunks vying for the number one spot. According to a poll on the station website, voters have already predicted Adam to win! Others in the contest are Jared Leto from Thirty Seconds To Mars, Brandon Flowers from Killers, Jackson Rathbone from 100 Monkeys/Twilight fame, and ironically Adam Levine from Maroon 5. After all the commotion that occurred on The Voice concerning the two Adams, I’d love for these two to be pitted against each other. Mr. Levine, you thought Adam’s fans were dedicated when they came after you on Twitter? Just wait!

Oh yeah, there’s one other name in the mix that rings a bell – Kris Allen. Hmmm – wonder what he’s been up to lately? Actually there are four Idol men on the list – Adam, Kris, Chris Daughtry and David Cook. All are doing quite well in the pre-vote, with Adam on top. Let’s make sure he stays on top to the end.

Vote here for the poll, and keep this link handy – it’s also your way to vote starting next Monday.

From Mix 94.1’s website:

You’ve listened to Mix 94.1 for years, and chances are you’ve had your fair share of crushes. From Rob Thomas and Lenny Kravitz, to David Cook and Adam Lambert! Now, once and for all, you decide: who is the sexiest Mix artist? Starting July 11th, your voice will be heard!
Sixteen of Mix 94.1’s hunkiest artists are going head to head, tournament style, from July 11th-21st. Will your favorite hunk-a-meat make the next round, or have to sit at the ugly table?
Take a look at how the voting will go down, and give us your predictions! Who will take the crown?!

The adulation and awards don’t stop! Adam Lambert will be honored, along with Facebook for bringing change and new thinking to society. How many of us look at things differently, now that we’re following Adam Lambert? I’m reprinting the article, stright from SDGLN.com, San Diego Gay & Lesbian News.

LOS ANGELES — Equality California will honor singer and songwriter Adam Lambert, a San Diego native, and Facebook at this year’s annual Los Angeles Equality Awards.
Presented by AT&T, the awards will take place Saturday, Aug. 13, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

“We’re thrilled to honor Adam Lambert and Facebook whose work has been a catalyst for social change and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality,” said Roland Palencia, Equality California’s new executive director. “Their courage and leadership in entertainment and social media have helped Californians become more supportive of LGBT rights.”

Lambert gained international fame as the runner-up on “American Idol” in 2009. Since launching his solo career as a singer and songwriter, he has been an outspoken and fearless role model for LGBT youth nationwide.

Lambert also participated in the “It Gets Better” campaign with the hope of helping LGBT youth overcome bullying. His new song “Aftermath” will benefit the Trevor Project, a national suicide-prevention hotline for LGBT youth.

“I am so honored to be invited to and recognized by the Equality California event,” Lambert said. “It’s a pivotal time in the progress of equal rights and I’m very grateful to be the subject of such broad visibility. I strive to lead by example by making no apologies for or withholding my identity as a proud and comfortable gay man. I strongly believe that ALL people have a fundamental right to love who they want to love and if they so choose, have their union recognized by the laws of this country regardless of sex, age, race or religious affiliation. I am hopeful that we are getting closer everyday to this idea of Equality.”

In an effort to prevent anti-LGBT cyberbullying, Facebook has developed the “Network of Support,” a coalition of non-profit organizations serving the diverse LGBT community. Facebook has also adopted policies to create a more welcoming experience for LGBT people on the social networking site, including adding a feature that allows LGBT people to select “married,” “civil union” or “domestic partnership” for their relationship status.

This just in! Here is the never-before-seen rehearsal video from the infamous 2009 AMA Awards Show. I’m also including some additional footage that includes more casual scenes. The stylist speaking in this additional video states, “I will say Adam Lambert’s performance for the AMAs on Sunday will be an absolute spectacle and I’m sure people will be jaw dropping, in a very, very good way.” Little did he know how prophetic he was being! :)

For all the people who said Adam’s performance was planned, here you go. This video clearly shows the controversial moves weren’t choreographed. Without the distractions of the lighting and smoke added for the performance, we can concentrate more on the singing. I think it’s obvious that Adam put a tremendous amount of effort to this rehearsal, and it was masterful. Remember, this was before the Glam Nation Tour! We can see that this was an amazingly difficult routine to put on stage. The vocals are tough, the moves are tricky, and the sound from this theater is notoriously bad. I think Adam’s rehearsal was superb and the members in the audience really loved it too. But I sorta missed the Ninja roll! I’m not trying to bring up old news, but I thought you would love to see the rehearsal too. There’s something to be said about viewing a rehearsal, and I’ll leave it at that. :)

It was fun to see him when he walked by Tommy Joe Ratliffe, playing the keyboards. Wonder if he had any inclinations then? We see that Adam had briefly had his hand around the back of Tommy’s neck. Did Tommy do something at that moment that gave Adam the idea? We know what would come later that night - sort of premature voyeurism!! Interesting side note: here Tommy is singing backup into the microphone. Never saw that on Glam Nation Tour!

Hope you enjoy it!

Performance Rehearsal - For Your Entertainment

Additional Rehearsal scenes

We’ve known that Adam Lambert has been a fan of Nikka Costa for a long time. Now we hear that Nikka is a fan of Adam’s, in return! In this interview with Dr. Funkenberry last month, we hear some early stories of when Adam was on her tour bus, long before he set foot on the American Idol stage. As a teaser, they start to talk about Adam at 2:46 in the first video. But tune into the second video (once your heart stops pounding) to hear their discussion!

Nikka comments about writing with Adam for his sophomore album. I would love to hear a duet with these two!

Enjoy these interviews with Dr. Funkenberry and Nikka Costa.

Part 1 – Where the ALMOST talk about Adam!

Part 2 – Where they talk about Adam Lambert

Are you one of the fans who felt anything from annoyance to utter outrage at Adam Levine’s comments on The Voice the other night? It seems from the comments on the previous article on this site that we were in the minority. Well, take heart Glambs. Seems that Levine has now apologized and has given us respect, via E! News.

Levine says, “the one thing you should know Adam Lambert, you have a lot of fans out there that really support you. And God bless ‘em cuz they just raked me over the coals on Twitter. They were pissed off and I like it. I like that dedication!”

I love it how Levine respects us as fans and appreciates our devotion to Adam Lambert! You should never feel ashamed of supporting your celebrity so strongly that it brings out the emotions. Haven’t we spent more than 2 years supporting Adam Lambert’s rights to be who he is? Well, we get that same privilege. Just remember we’re adults and need to act accordingly - with class and dignity.

Let’s understand what the real problem was. The issue never was that Adam Levine didn’t know the song. It seems unlikely, but it could be true. I took umbrage to the ridiculous idea that if he’d never heard the song, why would he say Nakia sang it better than the original? That’s just a stupid thing to say. I now feel justified by the following video. Hope you Glambs will also! And one final word to Adam Levine - - - all is forgiven. You’re back on my “cutie” list! :)

Love ya!

~ Carol ~

Okay Glambs, I don’t want to start a war here, but we’ve got to talk about last night’s The Voice. I was SO proud to hear that Adam Lambert was being covered. Another feather in his cap! I have loved Nakia’s past performances and was excited to hear his take on Whattaya Want From Me. At first I wasn’t happy to hear of his disappointment in song choice. But he redeemed himself by admitting once he listened to the words, that it was a great song.

And then he sang it. Yes, he did a really good job portraying his version of the emotions of the song, but he seemed to have lost track of his words, sang something at the wrong time, and then the rest of the song felt off.

But this was NOTHING in comparison to Adam Levine’s comments. First Levine looked awkward when he first said he wasn’t really familiar with the song. WHAAAATTTTT? Adam, your music is in the same Pop category as Adam Lambert’s, and Lambert had a grammy nomination for best song, so how could you NOT know the song??? Now my sister just told me that Adam Levine is known for not listening to the radio, etc., but it just seems weird. And then Levine deepens his grave by saying “I’m sure you sang it better than the original.” WHAAAATTTTTT? ARE YOU KIDDDDINNNGGG MEEEE??? If you truly didn’t know the song, why would you say that???

Adam Lambert obviously watches the earlier east coast broadcast, because his tweets are ahead of western program time. So we were prepared for something to have happened when these tweets came through:

adamlambert Yeah Nakia! Saaaang boy!! Great performance. I think Adam might know who I am after this next album. Get ready for me Levine. Hahah

But for the record, Im def a Maroon 5 fan. Fans: there is NO reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective but it’s all good. :)

If you didn’t catch the show, here is the clip:

I have to get out to an appointment so I’ll leave it here for your comments. Please remember our lessons in positivity, but we have a right to be fans too! All good, Adam! :)

Love ya!

I just came across this video interview with Adam Lambert, done by Cosmopolitan Russia Cosmo Girl on his recent trip to Moscow (5/28/11). I’m hoping this will be new to some of you too!

My favorite part of this interview is hearing him talk about how the fans have gotten to know each other via their involvement with blogs and attending the concerts. I always hear fans wondering if he knows what he has brought to our lives, other than his music, meaning the great friendships they’ve developed with other fans. Now we have a definitive YES! :) At 3:10, we leave Adam and hear some other bands that must have been playing the Maxidrom Festival. So sad they didn’t include any footage of Adam playing that day, but at least you can see them here!

Love ya!
