On last night’s Bravo TV’s Watch What Happens, host Andy Cohen mentioned none other than Adam Lambert.

Andy was giving his “Here’s What” comment and he seemed to take an issue with Adam’s sparkly pants! Here’s what he said: “Adam Lambert caused a stir in Tokyo this week when he performed wearing some pants that were very (big facial gesture) INFORMATIVE!” Then a picture similar to this one is shown, as Andy continues with “here’s, ooh there THEY are! Here’s what, when it comes to pants that I can’t believe a man wore in public, Adam gets the Silver, but Simon Van Kempen still gets the Gold.” Simon is then shown wearing a pair of red leather pants. And no! He’s not on stage, just at a dinner party!
For those of you who don’t watch the Real Housewives of New York, Simon is the husband of one of the women, who many have questions about whatelse, but his sexuality.
If you want to see this for yourself, you can catch it on one of the many replays this week of Bravo’s Watch What Happens. It plays at 3 minutes into the show.
I know this wasn’t very newsworthy, but any mention of Adam gets my attention!

To get all the news about Adam Lambert as soon as it comes out: his travels, his appearances, his songs, his videos, his fashions; follow us on Twitter. We’ll tweet you the second we know!
It’s so easy to do. Look at the column on your right. Scroll down to Follow Me on Twitter and click the title link adamlambertidol . From there, click the Follow Me button. You’ll be “tweeted” about new articles on our site seconds after they’re published. If you don’t have a Twitter account, sign up now. What are you waiting for? I’ll admit, I resisted signing up for one too. Because when it first came out, I only heard the negative. That it was just people saying things like “I’m sitting on my couch watching TV.” I didn’t have time in my life to read mundane things like that. But the good news is, you only hear from the people you sign up for - like us!
Personally, if it weren’t for Twitter, I would have never heard about Adam’s Fantasy Springs concert in time to get tickets. It’s become one of the top communication sources being used today. How many of you didn’t get an iPod until this past year, so you could keep recordings and videos of Adam with you at all times? I know, that was me too! Well, time to modernize. Don’t wait too long!

Just in! Check out the news/entertainment broadcast on Japanese TV raving about Adam Lambert! They give him nothing but love, and are making me feel slightly embarrassed about the coverage he has received in his own country. Hopefully media in the USA will take a lesson from the rest of the world in diplomacy and appreciation of talent.
~ Carol Glamb #7 ~
Now that Adam’s in Tokyo, he’s giving the Japanese audiences another side of himself that we Americans can only hope to see in the future. The screaming from the Japanese are a sure sign that he’s going to be part of the international community for a long time. And if this is anime, I’m getting controllers from my son and joining in!
Adam’s living another one of his dreams when he takes to the stage with dancers, reminiscent of his days on the Zodiac Stage. Love it when he joins in with the choreography! While his concert performance at Fantasy Springs a few weeks ago was absolutely epic and mind blowing, it wasn’t quite like this! Here we see another layer of the rock god that we hope will come to our stages too. Message to Adam and his team, “Adam, the paying audiences in America can and want to handle this too!”

We have all known since before the night of the American Idol Finale, when Kris Allen was announced the winner of Season 8, that Simon Cowell felt Adam Lambert should have won the title. Simon has always said the goal of American Idol is to find an international star. This is all being proven now in Australia as Adam is knocking them over left and right. But I’ve always wanted to hear something directly from Simon stating specifically that Adam was it. And now, thanks to the rebirth of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, we have that!
On last night’s show (March 8, 2010), Simon was very jovial and goofy as he sat with Jay dodging questions about his upcoming wedding. Jay even brought Simon’s fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy out from backstage to sit with him for a few minutes. After Mezhgan left, they began talking about the current Season 9 line-up and Simon stated he likes Crystal Bowersox. And then it happened. The conversation turned to past winners, and being the true Adam Lambert supporter that he is, Jay stated “It seemed like the people that come in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, seem to shine and go on to produce more albums and do more things in show business than the #1 winners in the last few years. I mean Jennifer Hudson and of course Adam Lambert. . . ” and Jay continued. Simon answered with “. . . it becomes a popularity competition and that’s what I thought happened last year. I mean, I like the winner but I personally thought Adam should’ve won as an overall artist.”
I know it has made absolutely no difference in Adam’s huge success whether or not he was crowned the with the Idol title. And I’ve honestly let it go. But doesn’t it still feel good to hear what we all worked so hard for, directly from Simon’s mouth?
Watch and enjoy it for yourself. They begin talking about this with 1:05 left in the clip. Please be patient, it may take a few moments to load in.

There is a report that a new keyboardist has been found to replace Lisa Harriton. Lisa is a very accomplished, much-in-demand keyboardist/vocalist. She was formerly in Smashing Pumpkins, and is currently the keyboardist for Ke$sha. She is not turning her back on Adam. Nothing was set in stone with the members of Adam’s band. Some or all of the members were only signed to do the introductory promotional events when For Your Entertainment was released, and Lisa signed for other jobs at the conclusion of that contract. We wish her the best of success and we’ll be recognizing her when we see her performing with other top artists.
Camila Grey, from Uh Huh . . . Her? will be the new member of the band. I don’t know the terms of her new contract yet.
The following report is from Clubskirts’ Autostraddle.

Adam Lambert Snags UHH’s Camila Grey for Magical Gay Mystery Tour
This Sunday is extra Funday! Camila Grey is Adam Lambert’s new keyboardist, Gay Mardi Gras rocks Sydney, Harry Potter is going to save gays from suicide, Chris Rock schools you about healthcare, Sad Magazine will make you feel good, and recovery from anorexia is possible. Also, Lilo’s looking hawt.
CAMILA GREY/ADAM LAMBERT:Camila Grey is officially the luckiest lesbian in the world. She’s (as far as we know) dating Clea Duvall, she’s in a band with Our Lover Leisha Hailey (Uh Huh…Her?) and they make lovely music, she’s able to play songs beautifully despite her bangs always being in her eyes, she’s very pretty, and NOW SHE’S GONNA BE OUR BOYFRIEND ADAM LAMBERT’S KEYBOARDIST. Uh Huh Her broke the big news on Twitter:
She says to watch out for tour dates! I hope they find a way to synch up Camila’s druggie acid-dance of hippie darkness with Adam’s glammy sex-dance of screaming darkness, because that would be one hell of a show.
This seals the deal: Adam Lambert is officially a lesbian phenom. Also: this is going to be the gayest band since The Village People! I JK, I JK! I know there’ll be only 2-3 gays in the band, obvs they can’t hold a candle to The Villlage People. Monte Pittman is married & straight and drummer Longineu Parsons is straight & engaged.
I mean… we know that Tommy Joe Ratliff the bassist is like “straight” or whatever, but like, if Adam Lambert tongue-kissed me, I would probs become a gay man. That’s all I’m gonna say about that except this one more thing; Adam’s nickname for Tommy is “glitterbaby.” Just saying! Maybe Adam & Cam can go gay clubbing today and make us funny vlogs about it!
Longineu Parsons was actually the drummer for Yellowcard, and Lisa Harrington (formerly of The Smashing Pumpkins, currently keyboards for Ke$ha) must be who Camila is replacing? Shortly before this photo was taken she got her head caught in a fishing net so that might be why. No but seriously if she is keyboarding for Ke$ha she’s probs pretty busy right now.

Dear Glambs,
Adam gave the absolute most perfect, amazing, make-you-have-to-scream concert last night!!! I don’t want to take too long to write the proper review right now, because I want you to have the pictures RIGHT NOW!!!
I was in the Front Row, 3 seats from the far end of the row, Tommy-side. The row extended about 15 feet past the edge of the stage, and I could tell early that Adam wasn’t coming to our edge, so I jumped back to the second row, where all of a sudden there were empty seats, closer to the center portion of the stage.
Below are some epic pictures that we are still screaming about this morning, even though my voice is still hoarse! Then click here for access to the Photobucket account that holds them all. This is a Group Album, and we’re inviting you to add your pictures to it. Also in this album are shots from our Glambs pre-party at Mimi’s Cafe. More to come on that, but I wanted to get these pictures to you ASAP!!
~ Carol ~
My very best shot of the hottest guy on Earth!!!

The hottest duo!

Adam and his awesome band!

The concert at Fantasy Springs was EPIC!! It was Adam Lambert’s FIRST full concert, and I feel so privileged to have been there! He had the most amazing presence when he walked out onto the stage. He tried to hold his “Rock God” persona at the end of his opening number For Your Entertainment, but after listening to the thundering response from over 3,500 screaming fans, his full-on Adam smile broke through and we knew he was touched.
Here are the videos from the night!!

We’re sure all of the Glambs who are going to Fantasy Springs this weekend are looking forward to meeting up with each other. We certainly are looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. In fact, Sue, Lila and I are so excited about meeting all of you and seeing Adam Lambert in one of his first solo concerts that we can hardly sleep! If you’re going, post it here in the comment section. We’re encouraging you to use this format to make any plans, arrange for carpooling, etc. Sorry this is so late, but we’re beginners at this and we just thought of it!
Our Glamb Family pre-party is happening from 3 – 5 PM on Saturday, February 27th at Mimi’s Café, 79-765 Hwy 111 in La Quinta, just 5 ½ miles from Fantasy Springs Resort. We’ve had over 70 people say they’re coming, so it’s going to be a great celebration! Remember, there is NO COST for our party. Everyone will have the opportunity to order whatever they’d like, whether it’s a full meal, an appetizer, or just a drink from Mimi’s full menu. Each person is responsible for their own purchase. You don’t have to order anything, if you don’t want. We just wanted to give you the opportunity to meet up with each other, before the show gets into action. We’ll have name tags for everyone there so you’ll immediately spot some familiar friends. We know that many of you are also going to the Fantasy Springs pre-party. (We’re going too!) We hope you’ll keep your Glamb name tag on, and spread the word about this web site. If you have a lariat or pin-on nametag holder, the type you get from business conferences, please feel free to bring them. Our nametags are adhesive and may not transfer if you want to change clothes.
Again, we can’t wait to meet you!
Sincerely,
Carol, Lila & Sue
Thank you to Libraglam for bringing the following video to my attention. In light of everything negative that’s been posted lately, let’s take a moment to remember why we’re all here. This serves as a great reminder as to who Adam was before American Idol. If you didn’t see his “past,” now you know what is making his “present.”
Thank you to Skylarvon for making this beautiful piece. And special kudos for starting it with the perfect Muse song – Uprising!
Short and Sweet: Adam will be on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on March 2, 2010 – the second night it’s back on the air. If you’re going to be in the Los Angeles area, you can apply for free tickets at: http://www.thejaylenoshow.com/tickets/
Please let us know if you’ll be there. We want the Glambs representin’! Maybe we should all try to wear the same colored top? What color gets your vote?

WARNING: The following article is an opinion piece, and does not necessarily reflect the views of adam-lambert.org as a whole. (But I’d truly be surprised to find many who disagree with me - hee hee!)
Social behavior has been on a steady decline over the last two decades. In this piece, I’m not even thinking about the offensive language we hear on TV/movies/song lyrics or the extras we see from those wearing saggy/baggy pants. No, today I’m focusing on the blurring of the line between home versus public behavior. I think technology has had a big hand in this. Remember when VHS machines first came out and we started watching movies in our living rooms? The freedom of pausing or talking during the movie without getting shushed was such a novelty. Go to the movies now, and they have to run a piece reminding audiences to keep quiet. And we never had to worry about bothering others when we talked on our home phones. Now cell phone talkers are invading our space at public locations/events. Have you noticed how loud people talk on them? “Can you hear me now?” “Yes idiot, the whole restaurant can!”
Thankfully Adam Lambert feels strong enough about audience behavior that he didn’t feel shy about speaking up during his recent performance in New York with I Heart Radio, when he was distracted mid-song. Somehow, someone who was lucky enough to get into the show, much less close enough to the stage to be within eye range of Adam, completely forgot common courtesy. The YouTube videos are making their rounds as I write this. We’ve even got another article on this site, showing all of his beautiful, sexy performances. But now the moment in question has made its way onto E News Now and I felt it deserved separate mention. Please folks, if you’re lucky enough to attend a performance from ANYONE, please remember your manners. And especially if you’re going to be in the Fantasy Springs audience with me, I want TOTAL Adam, not your cell phone!
~ Carol, Glamb #7 ~
We’ve received such positive responses from so many of you and we know how excited you are to join up before the show. We can’t wait to meet you too!! We heard that many of you wanted to come to our meeting and get to know your Glamb “sistas” PLUS you want to attend the Fantasy Springs pre-concert gathering. Now, you can do both! Lila and I have changed our event time to an earlier 3 PM - 4:30 PM to accommodate you. We’ll be meeting at a near-by restaurant and they will be serving from their full menu. You only pay for the food and drinks you wish to order. Remember, there is NO COVER CHARGE to attend our event. Too excited to eat or not on the Pacific time zone yet? No worries, just come and meet your friends! We know that many of you are traveling to the area that day, so stop in and nourish yourself, get charged up for the concert (you don’t want to be like the girl that fainted in New York, do you?!) meet us and the people you’ve been visiting with on this site, and still enjoy all the fesitvities going on at the Resort.
We know our group is a smaller, more intimate group. We hope you’ll take advantage of this time and share with us your ideas of what you’d like to see on this web site. Maybe you’re also a part of another larger group that will be at the concert. Please feel free to invite those friends too, but just let us know how many are coming with you. We need to let the restaurant know how many to plan for. This is going to be a wonderful chance to get to really know the people behind the screen names you’ve been exchanging comments with for almost a year now. A great way to buddy-up and form some relationships to take with you that day as you continue on to either the Fantasy Springs party or into the concert. We’ve heard that many of you are coming alone to this concert. Wouldn’t you love to have a new “BFF” to share the experience with? The Fantasy Springs pre-party will be filled with 600 women (mostly!) who ALL think they are Adam’s greatest fan. There will be so much estrogen circulating through the room that it might be overwhelming. Don’t go into it alone. Meet up with your Glamb friends and take your strong connections with you!
If you’re coming, please email us at: lila@glambs.org and let us know your real name, screen name, Glamb # (if you have one), how many are in your group, and if you are willing to give a ride to someone who may not have a car with them. You will be emailed privately with all the details.
Can’t wait to see you there!

**New post – originally posted 2/9/2010. This article was lost when our web site was recently invaded. I was able to find the opening paragraph, plus the all-important radio interview to re-post here.
~ Carol ~
A new radio interview from Adam’s Canadian media blitz has surfaced. Even though it’s a few weeks old, he never gets boring to listen to. I think it’s hilarious that when talking about Adam’s love of social situations, he says “I had an ex that used to call me Oprah.” Listen to find out the details.
Adam is continuing to open himself up to the public and give us a peek into his life. Here we get to go behind the scenes with Adam as he gives us a taste of the shooting for Whataya Want From Me.
I love the natural feel of his singing in this video. His stripped down appearance easily paves the way for him to open up emotionally and let us into his heart. Watch his expression as he learns he gets to decide his own actions when he’s exiting the club and “going through the gauntlet” to his limo. IMO this is an example of the trust and confidence that the directors have in him. With three extrememly diverse videos under his belt already, it shows this man is living up to his promise of giving us more than a one-stop shop.
~Carol~
Today is not just Adam Lambert’s 28th birthday, it’s also the 28th birthday of our very own Fernando - owner of this web site! That’s right, Fernando was born on the EXACT same day as Adam! How coincidental is that?!? Destiny was calling!
Fernando has given us all such a wonderful opportunity of having this web site as a place to call “home” and a place where we can feel safe and be among friends.
Please join me in wishing Fernando a very happy birthday!!! And just so you know what a cutie he is, here is a picture of several of us at the Jay Leno taping in December when Adam was on the show. Can you figure out which one is Fernando? It’s not too hard!
Happy 28th Birthday Fernando!
With love,
All your Glambs Fansite Leaders

Our Glam Rocker admits to E News Now that his look is more of a simple do-over than an original style. “What I do has been done before,” says Adam. He takes his looks from 70s and 80s glam artists, and David Bowie is a huge influence. Never mind, we LOVE everything you do! No matter the style that he’s re-creating, he always brings something new to the page.
After the E News Now video, be sure and check out the Man In The Box video showing his playful side, from his photo shoot with V Man Magazine, out Thursday.

From the very first note, there was no doubt Adam Lambert was bringing something new to the Idol stage. He is by far one of the most original and talented performers in the music industry today—and he has the Rolling Stone cover to prove it!
Screening Room chatted with the American Idol runner-up about life in the fast lane.
Stephanie Snipes: We simply must start by talking about the Rolling Stone cover. How amazing is that?
Adam Lambert: Wild, right? I was so honored when they asked me. It’s surreal. Every time I see it on a newsstand or on someone’s coffee table I’m like, “Whoa! That’s me! Oh my gosh!” It’s wild. It’s such an honor.
SS: It’s an amazing cover.
AL: Thank you! I like it too. Matthew Rolston is a genius photographer. Not only technically skilled but conceptually he brings so much amazing creativity to the table. He’s the best at what he does.
SS: Okay, Adam, there are a lot of Lambert fans out here that need a little consoling after the finale. Any words to make us feel better?
AL: I don’t think it really matters. I still get to put out an album. I still got signed to a major label. I got signed to RCA in a partnership with 19 Entertainment. I still get to do what I want to do. Nothing changes that. My whole goal of being on the show was to get some exposure and have a career in the recording industry. My immediate goal was to stay on the show as long as possible, and I did that. I stayed on as long as the show went on. I don’t think it’s about the title. I think it’s about the experience and it’s about the connection that I’ve gotten to make with all the people at home.
I’m so touched by everyone’s passion and dedication to voting and supporting me. And, I’m still going to make a really kick ass album.

Fame costs, as Fame’s Debbie Allen once warned with an emphatic tap of her cane. Sure, with fame comes the attention and adoration of millions. But sometimes that attention is unwanted, and sometimes it is even cruel. Perhaps no one lately has learned this harsh lesson more quickly than American Idol’s Adam Lambert, who only a year ago was just another aspiring singer with a dream, another struggling unknown talent hoping for his big break.
That big break obviously came in the form of Idol, which brought him the superstardom he (and everyone else who auditions for the show) craved. But in a classic case of “be careful what you wish for,” along with his sudden success came an army of stalkers, paparazzi goons, and Twitterers who now follow and overanalyze his every YSL-booted move.
The complete and utter relinquishment of one’s privacy is something that every famous person must deal with, of course–and considering all the perks that come with stardom, it’s hard to feel too sorry for celebrities. But for Idols, the experience can be especially exhausting, due to the intense enthusiasm of the show’s fanbase (viewers seem to feel like they know the Idols personally) and the swiftness of the kind of fame that comes from being broadcast into millions of living rooms for months.
And if the Idol in question is someone who’s had to deal with constant scrutiny of his sexuality (controversy over same-sex smooches or “risqué” Halloween drag-costume photos, simultaneous accusations of being “too gay” or “not gay enough,” etc.), it must be even more difficult to lead any semblance of a normal life. Not that someone as absolutely fabulous as Adam Lambert ever wanted a boring “normal” life anyway, but you get the idea.

I waited with great anticipation for last night’s On the Record with Fuse interview with Adam Lambert last night. I was looking forward to learning new glamorous details about him. My heart was starting to pound as the minutes were counting down closer to broadcast. Then, they played the For Your Entertainment video and I felt a sense of “rightness with the world.”
The video immediately led into the beginning of the interview. Ahh, he looked great, didn’t he? And he sounded very willing to reveal more about his sparkly self. But as the questions kept coming, I sadly realized nothing new was coming. But then, what was I expecting? After all, how much more about Adam can we hard core fans learn? I must admit, the piece about Adam being interested in looking at the boys in the 6th grade locker room caught me off guard. This was another example of Adam’s “open door” policy about himself. And also the fact that his mother had given him his own cardboard box of theatre makeup.
I was a bit surprised when they were talking about the pictures that came out during Top 13 and how Adam had been afraid they might put an end to his Idol bid. I wasn’t surprised by that news, but by the picture they used. Instead of the pictures we all saw of Adam kissing former boyfriend Brad Bell, they showed a picture of Adam and Drake kissing shortly before their relationship ended. I could hear you all screaming too!
I truly appreciate any opportunity to see Adam, whether he’s talking or singing. And On the Record with Fuse gave me just that! As I write this, it is 2 minutes away from the debut of the new season of American Idol. I don’t know if I can watch. I don’t want to spend an evening full of smarkiness, commenting on how the new contestants can’t hold a candle to Adam. But we knew that about 2 episodes into last season!
If you missed the Fuse interview, check here for more replays.
Readers, what did you think about the Fuse interview?
~Carol~
Adam’s appearance on Glee turned out to be a rumor, but he WILL be on FUSE TV on Monday, January 11th. He will be on the 30-minute On The Record talking about his music and other things we can hope for!
It appears he’s finally getting to talk seriously about his art and direction. Hopefully they left all the silly topics out! The show will appear several times that day, please check your listings.
~Carol~
EDIT: Sorry folks, this turned out to be a rumor. Adam tweeted around 8 PM PST last night: Glee guest star rumor: it’s a rumor. Sorry guys.
Never trust the National Enquirer Kellie!!
***************************************************************
One of the hot rumors flying back and forth on the chats has been about Adam appearing on Glee. Here’s the first word of any confirmation about it. The reporter here is using the National Enquirer as her source.
Kellie Rasberry, reporting on the Kidd Kraddick In the Morning Show, says that Adam will play a mentor for Kurt, the gay character. I can only imagine the positive impact this could have for everyone. By being the first performer to be completely out-of-the-closet from the beginning of his career, Adam has already begun to change the tone of America.
The Glee episode is not scheduled to air until after the next American Idol season ends, which is in May.
Never let it be said that Adam doesn’t have the most intense fans. We all want the best for Adam, however some have crossed the line this time. Not minutes after tweeting to his fans about stopping the over-zealous calls/online requests for his songs, Adam’s management posted a message on the official site announcing his disqualification from the current Open House Party vote.
Posted at 2:43 PM PST from RCA:
Adam Disqualified from Open House Party Voting Just wanted to let you guys know that Adam was disqualified from this competition this week because the folks at Open House Party realized that some people were mass voting outside of their own cities. Please resist the temptation to do this for this competition, as well as when requesting Adam’s songs from radio stations, because it WILL harm Adam’s image with these businesses, not to mention RCA’s ability to promote him and “Whataya Want From Me.” Thanks.
RCA * Update: Multiple requests to Open House Party’s Twitter account - where no requests are accepted - was the primary culprit to this week’s disqualification (Adam will be eligible again next week).
Let’s take this as a lesson learned and remember it for future. If you want to hit refresh/resend, make sure it’s for a national contest!
~Carol~
I know fans are upset about the lack of play of Adam’s songs on the radio, and whether he’s included in some poll or not. I’ve even been reading some strong anti-Kris comments on our very own site. I hope we don’t have to sink so low (or is it solo?). As Ron Burgundy says, “stay classy Glambs!”
Minutes ago, Adam sent out a series of tweets regarding fans requesting his songs. I think we need to take our lead from him. Here’s what’s on his mind:
1st tweet @ 1:51 PM PST:
Happy New Year guys!! I love that you want to support my music and call in requests, but please be mindful of how often you do so…
2nd tweet @ 1:52 PM PST:
Open House Party is a great supporter of my songs, but when there is an organized group of fans calling stations nonstop,
3rd tweet @ 1:54 PM PST:
… It understandably upsets them. Stations can track over-use of requests and fraudulent requests and I would hate to lose their support.
4th tweet @ 1:56 PM PST:
I really appreciate your passion and dedication to getting my music on the radio, but don’t drive the stations crazy!
thanks friends!
5th tweet @ 2:01 PM PST:
Woohoo!! Thanks to all who voted for the Z100 best new artist!! I’m honored
6th tweet @ 2:07 PM PST:
FYI. That doesn’t mean to stop requesting!! Just try not to do it 30 times in one day…. Just Cool it on the redial/resend kick.
7th tweet @ 2:08 PM PST:
Oh and so you all know, upon hearing this news, I laughed so hard. Y’all are nuts and I adore you for it.
~Carol~
People have been hard at work for the last 36 hours making sure this site stays devoted to Adam. I guess you can’t get enough of him. Well, I can’t either! It’s back to All Adam All The Time!! (Am I forgiven?!?)
Some others have been hard at work making some great remixes of For Your Entertainment. You all enjoyed the remixes I posted of his American Idol songs, so I’m sure you’re going to enjoy this too!
These remixes were supplied by Adam’s brother Neil, via Twitter. Thanks Neil!!
~Carol~
Adam’s New Year’s Eve performance wowed us and made us wish ticket sales for his upcoming tour were tomorrow. Hopefully Adam is getting a chance to take a well-deserved breather from his non-stop schedule that began in 2008 with his first American Idol audition, and ran right up to the New Year’s Eve Gridlock concert. While Adam takes that breather, we may be a little short on web site news, so I’d like to take this time to introduce 100 Monkeys, a band that my BFF web site administrator Lila Hayes has found, and I gladly went with her to discover the magic of their live performances. By no means does this mean I’m abandoning Adam! Just the reverse. He’s always promoting his fellow artists and I’m just following his lead. Besides, I have to have something to keep me occupied while I search for news about Adam to write up for this site and wait patiently for his next appearance!
Introducing 100 Monkeys - they’re a HOT band that is really fresh and fun to see live! They are extremely creative and original.
Here’s what led to Lila’s discovery. (Take notes: it will come in handy when you play Six Degrees at the end of this article!) With early comments made by Idol Judge Randy Jackson about Adam’s crossover to the style of Twilight and Adam’s confirmation on loving the book, Lila checked into the book series. She’s an avid reader and tore through all four books in about a week. Being a savvy internet explorer, she discovered that Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Cullen in Twilight/New Moon is also a member of the band 100 Monkeys. She learned they were playing in West Hollywood at The Viper Room last November 15 and from there it was GO. This is the same Viper Room that Johnny Depp was a part owner of until 2004, and was the scene of many of Hollywood’s juicy and tragic stories. Most notably this was the location where actor River Phoenix collapsed of a drug overdose outside the club and died on Halloween 1993. Being devoted to satisfying our social whims, Lila & I bought tickets ($10 each) and drove 150 miles from San Diego for a little LA shopping and our musical excursion. We later found out that on that same day not 10 miles from us, Adam and his FYE video performers were traipsing through the streets for the video shoot and no one called us!!
Wall across the street from The Viper Room, plastered with posters announcing the upcoming release of Adam’s FYE.

After arriving, we immediately got into the line that was already forming outside. We were about 20 people back. We visited with two very nice women who were from Florida on an extended red-carpet Twilight tour. This was one day before the opening of New Moon and there was a lot going on in Hollywood. While we were waiting in line, Marty Lawson, the very energetic and personable Bananager (dressed in a banana suit!) came out and started interacting with the crowd.
He visited with everyone in line and joked around as only a banana-attired man can. Orson Brawl (aka Dan Graupner) another member of the crew was on hand to document the evening on camera. Lila and I both appear in the following video at :13 (Lila) and :14 (Carol).
When it was time to go in, we entered and went down the pitchblack staircase, groping to hold onto the handrail. We filed into a small dark room with a floor-level stage in the corner and a bar in the back. This was a standing-only venue and Lila and I staked out our space right in front of the stage, about 3 rows back. The room filled with about 150 people, about 90% women aged 21 and up. We were treated to an energetic performance by this five-member band and many in the crowd were singing along with their original material, showing us that we were not the first guests to this party. The group’s onstage cameraderie clearly showed they had spent a lot of time together getting to this point. Part of their signature is to ask the audience to call out suggestions for a song. From all the topics being shouted out, they agree on one and make up a song right on the spot. After the show, I asked the band’s Uncle Larry if they used the same music and just changed the words. He said no, that based on the mood of the band at the moment, they decide on a groove and make up the music and lyrics. On this night, Flying Squirrel became the song.
Another part of their signature is known as Switcharoo, where on almost every song they trade places on stage and play each other’s instruments. Lila and I were amazed at this display of talent. Only “Uncle Larry” Abrahms stayed connected to his bongos and chimes for most of the show, until he took keyboards at the end. But Jackson Rathbone, Ben Johnson, Ben Graupner and Jerad Anderson all showed their versatility trading regularly on lead vocals, lead and bass guitars, keyboards and drums. Ben G and Jackson share most of the vocals with Ben G singing in a rock-style, with Jackson being more of a theatrical singer. Simon would have a heyday with him. Lila and I loved them both!
Jackson Rathbone & 100 Monkeys singing at The Viper Room, 11/15/09.
As long-time concert attendees, it was very refreshing to hear how bands sound when they’re in their “break-out” stage. The music and vocals come across more raw and alive. 100 Monkeys write all of their own music and are self-promoted and managed. A lot of their music is very upbeat, but their “lullaby” Keep Awake appealed to both Lila and me. Right now, it’s a free download on their site. Scroll to the section marked Keep Away and click on Download now. I challenge you to try to keep from singing the chorus later.
The band played for about 60 minutes, and we had such a good time with the whole experience. At the end of their set, Ben G placed his guitar pick on the keyboard, gave it a flick and it flew right down Lila’s top! Since the Viper Room performance, they’ve begun their 100 City Tour. They played in San Diego last week, so Lila and I gladly went again, along with Lila’s husband Jeff. I think he figured it was about time someone checked up on what the two of us are always up to. We knew we had to get Lila’s guitar pick signed!
The San Diego concert was held at the SOMA Sidestage, an old movie theatre next to the Sports Arena, the location of the Idol Tour. At SOMA, the seats had been removed, again giving us a standing-only venue. Much better for providing an up-close, more personal experience. Hint: wear comfortable shoes to these events! We didn’t spend time waiting in line this time. We entered the lobby about 15 minutes prior to the show but still got a great location, this time about 7 rows back but still in the center. By the end of the show, we had worked our way up to the second row! Before the show, Marty the Bananager was working the merchandise booth at the counter selling t-shirts, stickers and their brand new first studio-produced CD, Grape. He immediately gave us hugs, greeting us like long-lost friends. We both purchased the CD and spoke with him about the previous show and what was new with the band. He filled us in and after the show was over, Lila and I went around back hoping to meet up with the band. We got lucky and spoke with all the members of the band. They were so accommodating and anxious to speak with us, posing easily for pictures. They could have easily said no because they were in a rush, loading their instruments into their vans while we talked, so they could get on the road for their next-day’s gig in Arizona. This made me think how established Adam is. Can you imagine him having to do the mundane chores for his appearances, like clean his wardrobe or drive to the site? That’s the beauty of signing with a first-class team like 19 Entertainment!
The first to come out was Jerad, and he very nicely took Lila’s and my Grape CD artwork in for autographs by the entire band. This band is paying its dues. And yes, Ben G gladly signed Lila’s guitar pick. He signed his initials on one side and “Nice Catch” on the other!

San Diego was city #3 on their 100 City Tour. For our fans of this site who are in the desert Southwest/Texas region, please go check this band out! They’re coming your way. They’re heading for Albequerque, NM on January 4th, and into Dallas, Houston and Austin, TX on January 5th, 6th and 7th. You will enjoy yourselves, I promise! They have free appearances at several record stores, and most of their concerts are for all-ages, for a very reasonable admission price. See here for their schedule to find out when they’re coming to you. Subscribe to their site for notices and scheduled appearances. It’s incredibly exhilarating to feel like you’re helping to establish an artist. Remember what we felt like when we thought we “discovered” Adam? I don’t think Adam really needs us to feel like that anymore. But bands like 100 Monkeys sure do!
And if you go to one of their shows, be sure and tell them that Lila and Carol in San Diego sent you!
For a little fun, let’s play The Six Degrees of Adam Lambert. You all know what I’m talking about, right? The game that originated with Kevin Bacon. Take Kevin Bacon and any other Hollywood celebrity, and take six steps to link them. Here’s how it works with Adam and the band 100 Monkeys!
Six Degrees of Adam Lambert & 100 Monkeys

I’m sure we were all wringing our hands, hitting the buttons refreshing our pages, searching for the clear transmittal of Adam Lambert’s New Year’s Eve Gridlock performance at midnight PST. Thank you Neil Lambert for trying to feed us. We’ll always love ya!
The YouTube clips that we woke up to this morning were appreciated probably more than anything we unwrapped last week, For Your Entertainment CDs excepted of course!
Hot off the Los Angeles Times’ presses, here’s the review we’ve been waiting for. I’m even publishing it before it hits the stands tomorrow! We now have the confirmation of what we’ve known for almost a year: Adam Lambert was just playing with us while he was on American Idol, using it as a “platform,” to quote the master himself. He just needed the exposure to launch him into what the industry experts are now agreeing will be a long lasting career.
POP MUSIC REVIEW by
Adam Lambert lights up New Year’s Eve at Gridlock party
His performance at the Paramount Pictures lot toned down on the theatrics but delivered on the music.
“Do I look like a firework?” Adam Lambert cooed from the stage at Gridlock’s fourth annual New Year’s Eve bash. “That was my motivation.”
Sporting his signature finger-less gloves and going a little heavier on the usual glitter and guyliner allotment, the “American Idol” runner-up had his work cut out for him at the Paramount Pictures lot Thursday night: executing his first full set of original music in front of about 4,500 revelers, each of whom had paid at least $150 to get in and had already downed a few, and making a proper return to the spotlight — complete with fireworks — following the American Music Awards fiasco that ostensibly got him barred from big-ticket television specials like Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
And like any good professional entertainer, Lambert delivered, only this time without the cheap theatrics. Sure, there was the occasional crotch grab and pelvic thrust (all self-directed), but his most controversial move of the night turned out to be a dramatic swig from a flask, followed by a disclaimer of sorts. “I’m not promoting alcoholism by any means,” he cautioned, “but long live rock ‘n’ roll!” Downright saccharine compared with the AMAs a month ago.
Happy New Year to all the friends and supporters of this site. We wouldn’t be doing it if we didn’t have you!

Thank you so much to Fernando for starting this story! Okay AdamFans, please forgive the time lapse in the follow-up on it. With out-of-town visitors, parental surgery, and the holidays including my son’s day-after Christmas birthday, I let this go far too long.
As soon as we found out Adam was scheduled to be on Leno, four of us applied for tickets and miraculously 3 of us got them. Between us, we had 8 tickets to share with our friends and family to attend the taping. We started going through our address books and decided we only wanted true AdamFans to go, not just a relative who didn’t know much about Adam, if that’s even possible!
Of course we had to invite our web site owner Fernando, and I was so glad he was available. I hadn’t seen him since the Finale Watching Party that web site administrator Lila Hayes and I threw for the San Diego community at Seau’s, a local sports restaurant. Lila and I invited other friends and family who were already dedicated and our group of 8 was set.
Lila and I left around 8:30 AM from San Diego, stopping 3 times on our way up the coast picking up the rest of our group. In La Jolla we picked up Lila’s friend Osia, in Oceanside we got Sami, who we carpooled with to the high school on Homecoming Day, and in Irvine we got my sister Julie who had just driven out from Texas for the holidays.
Pictured from left to right:
Glenda, Fernando, Diana (in back) Carol, Sami, Lila, Osia. Julie is camera shy!

If you’ve never been to a show taping before, there’s a tremendous amount of waiting. Even more if you want to be assured of a good seat! We arrived at Leno’s Burbank studios around 12:15 PM. Ticket holders had been instructed to arrive by 2:45 PM, for a 4 PM admittance. Admission wasn’t guaranteed, and we knew to get there early for good seats. There was an outdoor gathering area marked for the ticket holders, right off the sidewalk where there was limited free street parking. With our early arrival we got free parking. We were also fortunate because the weather was beautiful. A few days earlier Southern Cal was having upper 80 degee pre-Christmas weather, then some rain! But today was a calm 70s and clear.
Around 2:45 we were led to another outdoor sitting area, and welcomed by an NBC page to the Leno taping. She instructed us several times to use the porta-potties, because once we were inside, there would be no coming or going. She very nicely told us not to complain about any of our seats; “they’re free!” We were also told “no cameras – you will be ejected. No calling out during the monologue or during the guest appearance – it’s rude and will be edited out.” So no inviting Adam out to party!
We went inside to the studio in small groups so we could be seated by the ushers. There were 3 rows of chairs on the floor, and several sections that were about 20 rows high. Most of the rows in the section that was in front of where Jay and his guest sit had seats taped off with names on them. A few seats in each of these rows was available and our group of 8 was split into 3 of those rows. I was in the first row off the floor, directly in front of the guest’s chair. We were hoping that Adam would get to talk with Jay, not just perform, as he’d done on Letterman. If so, he was about 20 feet away from me! I wished I could take pictures! I sat with my friend Glenda and her friend Diana, who came up from Palm Springs and Los Angeles. I was next to where the taped off seats for our row began. I wondered who I’d be sitting next to? Lila and Osia were one row up from us, and Sami, Fernando and Julie were in the next row.
Around 4:15 PM, the VIPs were escorted to the taped off seats. When Adam’s mother Leila entered with some friends, they were led up the stairs next to my section. What if I got to sit next to her?? But they went up about 10 more rows. I imagine that she requested to sit up that high, and not be down at the stage. As soon as she sat down, I looked up and all the heads in our section were turning back and forth talking excitedly. I can only imagine how many tweets were sent!
The VIP seat next to my sister was taken by a familiar-looking guy who none of us could place, sorry! He was tattooed, had scruffy long blond hair and looked like a heavy-metal rocker. He was with his wife and an older man, probably a parent. The VIP seats next to me were taken by some people none of us recognized.
When all seats were filled, a comedian came out and started warming us up, testing our laughter levels, applause levels, and basically instructed us how to have a good time for the benefit of the sound engineers. He did some funny routines but we were all glazed over, just waiting for the show to start and the chance to see Adam and hear him sing. He told us to turn to the person next to us and hit their arm. The metal rocker dude next to my sister did just that, smacking her pretty hard. He immediately turned to her and apologized. She asked him if she should know who he was, and he kind of said yes, but he wanted to stay low-key. He was there with his wife because she was a huge Adam fan! So she never found out who he was.
During a break, I gathered my courage and went up to Leila, hoping I wouldn’t be thrown out! I introduced myself as an author from this web site, gave her one of our Glambs business cards with my contact info, and told her we’d love to do an interview with her. She smiled and said that would be fun, but didn’t give me any contact info for her! I thanked her for having such a wonderful son who is bringing so much enjoyment to so many people. She seemed really taken by that, and we shook hands and I retook my seat.
Next Jay came out and welcomed us, dressed in jeans and a denim shirt. He told us that this would be filmed in “real time,” and there would be no take-overs or edits, unless necessary. Even though we knew we weren’t getting an encore of the AMA performance, we wondered how toned down Adam would be! Jay made a fuss over an audience member who was celebrating her 19th birthday with some college friends and they took pictures. He then went backstage to change and his band came out and started to play.
From the video, you can see how the rest of the taping went. Since this was filmed in real time, the band played throughout all the commercial breaks. They sounded great and the lead singer is a very talented woman. She went into the audience pulling members up to sing into the microphone. When she came up the aisle next to me, they were doing an older song that I knew by heart and was singing. She pulled me up and gave me the microphone, and somehow I remembered all the words and even sounded on key! For the life of me, I can’t remember what song it was, and neither can anyone from our group! Fernando, can you help? I’m sure this will be the closest to singing with Adam that I will ever come. At least we shared the same air!
Jay seemed very interested in talking to Adam, reaching over and touching his leg or arm several times. I think that Adam is a dream guest. He is a great conversationalist and is very at-ease on camera. His “safe plucking” comment was very quick and got a big laugh from Jay! One very interesting note to point out, when they were talking about the 2 rumors Adam wanted to dispel, Adam couldn’t remember what the second one was, and asked for help. An assistant came up behind him and said “your father” loud enough for us all to hear. From there, Adam went on and quashed the rumor about his dad being upset about his AMA performance. But you’ll never see that part. It was edited out, and you’ll just see a scene break at 6:59 going from rumor one to rumor two. From now on, when we see a scene break on future shows, we’ll know that there was an edit.
Then it was a commercial break and Adam would sing next. We were all so excited. We couldn’t imagine him singing without his band, but none of the instruments were set up. Then a screen to the left of where Adam and Jay talked lifted and we saw Adam’s band. Phew! The set started filling with fog, the lights went down and then Adam was on! He and the band sounded great. It’s different than when he performed on the Idol Tour. He’s his own performer now. He looked right at the audience most of the time while he was singing and Sami thought he was looking at our group because we were all mouthing the words! I’ll go with it!
During Adam’s performance, Jay was standing at the edge of the set, moving his legs back and forth to the music, keeping his eyes intently on Adam and the band. We’ve all seen Adam and Tommy Joe go back to back in other performances, and I was so happy to see him do it here too. But during that part of the playback, the camera is focused on Lisa and her keyboard. You really have to look to see Adam and Tommy Joe, and you only get a brief moment of it at 2:48. Was this intentional?
They went to commercial, and Adam and his band went back stage. The warm-up comedian was right in front of me, so I gave him one of our Glambs business cards and asked that he give it to Adam. He said he would. I have no idea whether it happened, but it can’t happen if I don’t try!
Next was the Mrs. Claus skit. If you ask me, it was pretty “dirty,” talking about Santa’s “fat ass” and what it was like to be underneath him, and how she’d “had the elves up to here.” Graphic: her hand was waist high, insinuating oral sex, but since this was hetero, I guess it was okay.
Then it was over and we exited the studio, all feeling so grateful to have been there that day. Not knowing the area, we searched the GPS for restaurants and picked Michael’s Bar & Grill, close by.
We were giddy (and starving!) from the entire day’s experiences, grateful we had shared a day of Adam’s life with each other. We can’t wait for the tour, and for when we get to hear and see Adam again! I hope that you all get to have an experience like this for yourself too!

Hi everyone, this is Fernando, we just got back from attending the concert live with our fans. We got to see Adam from up close! I got there and met up with Lila, Carol, Julie, Glenda and two other fans.
The live atmosphere was INCREDIBLE. They did an amazing job in pumping the audience up by bringing a comedian before the show. We were all laughing histerically. They also had the band playing and a singer keeping us ‘pumped’ during the breaks.
I use to not really like Jay all that much until today. When he spoke to the audience before the show, you could tell he actually has a lot of charisma and that he looks way different and better on ‘real life.’
Adam sounded great live and thankfully that translated well on TV.
Well… enjoy the videos:
San Diego News Network has once again directed their operatic expertise at local hometown hero, Adam Lambert. This is a follow-up to their article during the Idol season, where a group of experts all weighed-in with their learned impressions of Adam’s singing talents and future potential. Journey with them as the same experts voice in on the album.

San Diego’s homegrown musical hero featured on 14 tracks
By Valerie Scher, SDNN
Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” was the most eagerly anticipated debut album by an “American Idol” contestant.
Now it has arrived, much to the delight of Glamberts everywhere. In honor of the occasion, SDNN has brought back the panel of opera experts that rated San Diego’s homegrown musical hero back in May.
This time, the experts are reviewing his new album. The idea is to get some insights into what makes Adam special and see if “Entertainment” really delivers.
Here’s what they think. See if you agree.
Nicolas Reveles, Geisel Director of Education and Outreach at San Diego Opera
Overall impression: One of the joys (and heartaches) of watching “American Idol” is to sense the struggle, anxiety and hard-earned sweat that goes into the performances by young singers. Year after year, they hope and pray that the judges and the audience will give them a pass to instant celebrity, a recording contract and the assurance of a future in music.
This year, especially for those of us who live in Adam’s home town of San Diego, we hoped that those rewards would go to Adam, despite his second-place finish. He’s a good-looking, talented, stage savvy, risky performer. I still hope that he will be the one we’re talking about ten, twenty years from now.
To judge by his first solo album, however, I’d say he has a long way to go. To be fair, I don’t think the disappointment I feel in hearing “For Your Entertainment” is all Adam’s fault. But his face is on the album, it’s his solo debut, and he was the one making the choices (or maybe not). If so, he’s got to choose to surround himself with people who will let him shine. The biggest problem with this album is that it’s way over-produced and obviously compromised within an inch of it’s digital life in order to appeal to the widest audience possible. His wonderful personality, that stunning voice…everything is buried in layer upon layer of synthesized sounds, voices and percussion.
He’s not even given a chance to let ‘er rip like he did in the live performances on “Idol.” That’s where Adam shines, riding the wave of a live audience, letting us see him sweat, taking us in as he scaled the vocal and emotional heights that were so impressive when we witnessed them last season. That’s what I miss in this album. To use an operatic analogy, it’s like the difference between a canned, studio-produced opera recording and a live recording where you can smell the danger of performing in real time in front of real people. “For Your Entertainment” is canned, slick and forgettable, all flattened out and with no dimensionality or real color, things that I think Adam has in spades but is not allowed to fully release in this album.
Adam’s Singing: I love Adam’s singing, but it’s hard to separate the voice from the layers of production that this album presents. Again, it all sort of sounds the same, the voice is unable to really “let loose” or ever separate itself from all those layers. It’s his voice and its presence that we are all clamoring to hear and for me that unique voice is missing.
Favorite track: Stand-outs for me are ”Strut,” “Fever” and “Broken Open.” “Broken Open,” the 13th out of 14 tracks, shows us Adam’s soulful side. ”Strut” is probably my favorite if I have one, but all three of these tracks show us a little bit more of the Adam we came to love on “Idol.” The rest of it is just so much of the same ol’ thing, a sound that we can get from countless other pop singers.
Rating: 2 (out of four)
Leon Natker, General Director of Lyric Opera San Diego
Overall impression: The album is clearly the biography of a relationship. The style is aimed at the club scene with the intention of being able to dance to many of the tracks. It is also very androgynous so that it can appeal to both the straight and gay club scene. For my taste it is overly engineered and does not give Adam the chance to really shine like he can. Many of the tracks are derivative of ’80s and ’90s MTV-style videos but are not clearly trying to be retro in their styling. Adam is still in my opinion a very talented singer with great range and possibility. I wanted to hear more Adam and less of the engineering.
Adam’s singing: His voice sounds clear and healthy. He is obviously doing his own back-up tracks. I think he is capable of singing anything from Broadway legit to pop-rock, which makes him a very rare bird. I don’t believe this album lets him find his own personal voice yet. And I do say “yet.” I think there is a large future for him. He needs to find the producer who is going to trust Adam’s talent and let him shine without all the recording industry gimmicks.
Favorite track: My favorite track is “Aftermath” because you can really hear Adam’s voice and the instruments backing him up without a lot of sonic clutter. The second-best track is “Time for Miracles,” for the same reason.
Rating: 3 for Adam; 2 & 1/2 for the album.
Valerie Scher, SDNN Arts & Entertainment editor and a San Diego correspondent for London-based Opera magazine
Overall impression: “For Your Entertainment” is so loaded with recording studio effects that a more accurate title would be “That’s Synthertainment!” As enjoyable as the album often is, it made me yearn for more Adam and fewer add-ons. A singer this talented doesn’t need material to be gussied up to such an extreme. The focus should be on the singing, as in the best opera productions. The greatest challenge for San Diego’s homegrown musical hero is to find material that’s worthy of him. And though the album includes contributions from such big names as Pink, Lady Gaga and Muse, I hope his next album does even more to showcase his remarkable abilities.
Adam’s singing: Terrific, at least what I can hear of it amid the special effects. In “Aftermath,” for instance, he flaunts his showmanship in soaring high notes and message-laden lyrics that emphasize the importance of being true to yourself. During “Soaked,” he combines a sweet, creamy tone with a command of phrasing, diction and breath control that reflect his local musical theater training. Even in “Sure Fire Winners,” which is hardly an example of blazing inspiration, Adam displays a precision and melodic agility that an opera singer might envy.
Favorite track: Though I like Adam’s husky-voiced rendition of Lady Gaga’s funky “Fever,” and his power balladeering in “Time for Miracles,” from the movie “2012,” the top treat is “Broken Open,” which Adam co-wrote. Nowhere on the album is his voice more beguiling than in this dreamy, melancholy song. It’s as close as he gets to an opera aria and I’m crazy about it.
Rating: 3

**UPDATED WITH NEW PHOTOS!!**
December 2nd took me on a monumental Adam Lambert Roller Coaster ride. The ride begins when I get an email from my friend Glenda, who I met at the Homecoming Events last May. She tells me that she had gotten tickets to see Adam appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show. So, naturally I call Lila, my partner-in-crime for EverythingAdam! (If you’ve read my past posts from the summer concert time, you remember I met Lila at Adam’s Homecoming events in San Diego, and since then we’ve become very good friends. In fact, I have her to thank for introducing me to Fernando, owner of this web site.)
Sorry, I digress. We both go online and apply for tickets, thinking there’s no way we’ll get them. From the application process, I learn there are two events to get tickets for: the show and the Outdoor Mini-Concert. Heck I want the mini-concert!! So I apply, holding my breath, and couldn’t believe I immediately got them! I call Lila and we’re flying high just thinking about it.The mini-concert is scheduled for the day after Lila and I will be returning from Las Vegas, where we’ll be seeing Muse. We’ve even been wondering if Adam will be there, because Muse is a favorite band of his, and they’re only playing 5 dates in the United States. But weeks after buying these tickets, we find out they’re now playing in Los Angeles the next night, so Adam would most likely be going to that concert instead. But we can hope! Now I’ve found out Adam has appearances at Jingle Balls around the country on the Muse dates.
After applying for the concert tickets, I go on Twitter to catch up with the latest. Through a tweet I find out that Adam will be at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel on December 4th, two days later!! By re-tweeting the message, I could qualify for VIP GUARANTEED access. They said only 150 would be let in. First thing I do is re-tweet, and then call Lila again! We scream, and then start re-tweeting. We’re flying even higher now. Then the roller coaster zooms to a crashing halt. I received an email from the Kimmel ticket agency that Adam’s appearance and mini-concert has been canceled. I won’t go into any of that – we all know the hypocrisy of the situation.
So we both retweet, don’t get selected as VIPs, but we’re going anyway, hoping to get in. We had no idea how many people would be showing up for this. Luckily both of us work out of our home, so our schedules are flexible for all this gallivanting around town, following (or chasing?!) our passions!
On December 4th, we get back on our early-morning roller coaster for our 20 minute drive downtown. We arrive at the Hard Rock Hotel early to check out the scene. It’s 10:30 AM and Adam is due for a 3 o’clock appearance. Amazingly, there was only one other person in line, a very devoted fan named Maryann who had been in line since 8 AM. Lila and I are excited because since we’re #2 and #3 in line, we know we’d definitely be getting in.
As the hours tick by, we can’t believe there aren’t that many more fans getting in line. Around 2 PM, the line is about 20 strong. Some PR/promotions staff come out and urges us to call anyone we can to come and be here. They can’t be too surprised. With such short event notice, it’s hard for people to rearrange their days to get off work or make childcare plans, to spend the day standing in line. Maryann told us it was announced on AdamOfficial and Twitter. Hardly mass media reach!
Several local media film and print crews showed up and were interviewing and filming the fans in line. It was interesting to note that every local channel showed up, except the local ABC affiliate. Hmmmm.
Here is the video from our local FOX News with comments from both Lila (1:10) and me (1:40).
We were let into the lobby around 2:45 PM, and it did fill with about 150 people. We noted that Adam’s dad Eber was standing in the back of the lobby, leaning up against a post. Since he’s a San Diego resident, we’re not surprised that he’s there. A few fans went up to him to chat and take photos, which he very kindly obliged. He looked so handsome. I heard some young girls remark how much he looked like Adam. I laughed and said, “no Adam looks like him!” Lila and I had brought some special mementos that we were hoping to get signed by Adam. She had her personalized GLMBRT license plate,
and I had my May 25 People Magazine that covered the Idol’s Homecoming visits.

Here’s that issue showing the photograph of Adam at the high school (upper) and coming through an autograph line at the radio station that morning (lower). I was at the station and asked him to sign my CD. While he was signing it, I asked him if he received the Ice Cream Dipper I sent him. (I had it engraved with: Adam, Here’s the scoop - You ROCK! Carol.) He looked right at me, flashed a gorgeous smile saying “Yes, I love it!” People Magazine’s photographer had captured both of us in that moment. I thought it would be so cool to get him to sign that picture, and he did! That’s the back of my head wearing the headband and ribbon. Lila is pictured in that shot too. She’s in the upper left of the picture, wearing a black jacket, holding up a camera. You can see Adam’s signature in the picture above. He was using a silver Sharpie that day!
Video with me asking Adam about the Ice Cream Dipper at :22.
At the Idol Tour Concert in July, Lila and I had tried to get these articles signed at the bus arrival, but Adam didn’t come out to the waiting fans. After the concert, he only came out for 10 minutes, so it didn’t happen then either. Because of this past experience, I started thinking of alternative ways to get my magazine signed. With Eber standing behind us, my mind went into motion. I figured that Adam would be spending some time visiting with his dad, so maybe I could ask Eber to have him sign it, and then I could pick it up from . . . .someplace! I gathered my courage and approached Eber and introduced myself. I told him I had been at one of his Poetry Nights (Lila and I did go, and I’m still writing a later article on that!) and he said, “yeah, I thought I recognized you!” OMG!! We spent some time talking about poetry, and then I moved into some chit-chat, saying I hope he’s getting more time to be himself now, and not so much being “Adam’s dad.” (Aw man, I hope that didn’t come out wrong!) He said he hasn’t been doing too much as Adam’s dad for the past 10 years, and laughingly said he’s been trying to get him to sign over a car to him!” I laughed, wondering if Eber wants the Mustang! We both laughed, and then I let it out. I told him about the magazine I was hoping to get signed and asked that if I didn’t get it signed that day, could he have Adam sign it. He said “sure,” and that I should write my name/address on it so he could get it to me. I told him “thank you” and would see him afterward, if I didn’t get it signed. He told me that Adam wasn’t feeling well – that he had the stomach flu or food poisoning, so that may have to be the case.
Soon Adam came out, walking down the stairs behind us, and around to the part of the lobby where they’re doing the presentation. I’m not sure what you may have seen, but it was on all our local channels and CNN. Check YouTube for clips. Adam looked incredible and Lila and I were blown away. They unveiled the costume he wore with KISS at the finale, and spoke of how he was taking his place amongst other rock legends who have donated their memorabilia to the Hard Rock. Adam remarked that we was thrilled to be included, considering he was the New Kid On the Block! After the presentation, we were told Adam would be taking a break since he wasn’t feeling well, and would return to sign autographs and meet the fans. Phew! We still have our chance!
After a short while, Adam did come back out, and he spent time talking with the media, and then the fans. Lila and I rushed to the side he was starting on, both getting our #1 items signed. At 1:37 you’ll hear Lila say “thank you” and at 1:43 you’ll hear me talking to him about the magazine picture. He said he remembered me! I’ll go down in history as “the ice cream dipper lady. It could be worse!!
In addition to her license plate and my magazine, we both brought copies of Rolling Stone and Details just in case we got lucky! After Adam signed her plate and my magazine, Lila rushed to a later point in the line, but I got detained by a reporter asking me questions about why I was such a strong fan. We also spoke about the Finale Watching Party that Lila and I arranged, and how we both were Leaders on the Glambs fan site! By the time this was over, Adam was just about to leave. Lila rushed back to me saying she got both of her magazines signed, and how I should go try for my additional autographs. We tried, but he was already done. We could tell he was exhausted from being ill and everyone around us had commented on how we could tell he wasn’t feeling well. It’s amazing how well we know him by now!
I went back up to Eber, thanked him for his offer, and told him I was able to get the magazine signed and he said “oh good.” I then gave him a business card from the Glambs that we’ve made up to distribute at functions, and requested that he give it to Adam. We want to make sure he knows about us! I told him I’d see him at the next Poetry Night.
At this point, we ran into another friend and we spent some time talking. She informed me that Adam’s staff was in the bar off the lobby. She didn’t know their names, but I wanted to go talk to them. I’d sent emails just after learning about this event to his team at 19 Entertainment. This was to the same gentleman who I’d emailed and spoken with when the Tour was coming to San Diego, hoping to get some time with Adam, so I could write a story for our fan site. I’m still hoping to get this story! So I went into the bar and introduced myself. Sure enough the man in the bar was Roger, the VP of Music/TV Publicity US from19 Entertainment, the same man I’ve been talking/emailing with. When I said my name, he said “did you just email me?” I couldn’t believe it! He remembered! I told him who I was, gave him a Glamb business card, told him I was an author, and said I’m still hoping to get some time with Adam. I asked if he and Adam were aware of our web site. He said yes they knew of us, and that we did really good work. He said it was important for us to keep doing our good work and to keep promoting Adam. He said things were crazy right now, but after January he was sure I could get some time with Adam! Oh man, my head was spinning with excitement, but I tried to keep my cool, to remain professional and not be a fangirl!! We spoke a little more about what’s going on right now with the ABC situation. He assured me “it’s all good.” I didn’t want to make a pain of myself, so I left after that. But I did go back to get his business card!
This was a great day that I will always remember. Hopefully, you will all get to have your days too. And what day wouldn’t be complete without a late night spoof!

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their poster/picture for the project we’re creating for Adam’s birthday. I’ve heard they are really fantastic. With everything going on this week and over the last month, we know our list of followers has grown. We have many new friends on this web site who may not know about our Glambtastic birthday project. We’re inviting everyone who hasn’t submitted their birthday poster/picture to please get busy this Thanksgiving weekend. As we give thanks for all we have, including having Adam in our lives, please remember we want to do something extra creative to show him how much he means to us. Don’t let the Allen-ites outdo us!! Did you see their birthday present video? Did you see how many fans participated? We know we’ve got hundreds of you out there! And for everyone who comments on the articles here, we know there must be 10 who don’t. While we’re all caught up with the AMA performance, the CBS brilliance, and the release of For Your Entertainment, we can’t forget that the posters for Adam’s Birthday Project are due Monday, November 30th!
Please read this re-posting of our previous article about the Birthday Project and help us make this a birthday present Adam will never forget!
Thank you for your support and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you,
Carol
We are creating the most GLAMB-TASTIC present for Adam and you’re invited to take part. Adam’s birthday is in January, and now’s the time to get going for what we’ve got planned. We really want this to be a surprise for Adam, so we can’t release too much information. But trust us please, you won’t be disappointed.
There are three ways you can help:
1) Send us a picture of yourself.
2) Send us a picture of yourself holding your poster – instructions below.
3) Send us a picture of the poster.
If you’re making a poster be as creative as you want, but all signs must be in good taste and need to include the following message:
Happy GLAMBirthday Adam!
<3 Your Name, Your Glamb #, Your City & State or Country
You don’t have to put a heart or Love, but we really need your name and location. This is critical for the project. He’s already a world-wide star and this gift will reflect that.
Take a picture of yourself, the sign, or yourself with the sign and send it to tourphotos@glambs.org. You can even send all three pictures! If you can adjust the pixel size to 1,000 x 1,000 that would really help us out. It would be really neat if you were next to your town’s landmark.
If you went to the Tour concert in your city and have a picture of that, we’d love to have it. All pictures must be received by Monday, November 30. That gives you all of Thanksgiving Weekend to work on them. Either email your photo (downsized to 1,000 x 1,000 pixels if you can) to tourphotos@glambs.org, or upload to a photo hosting service (like PhotoBucket) and send the link to tourphotos@glambs.org.
Don’t have your own Glamb number yet? Click here for directions. We know Adam will love this present, and he will love it more because his fans will be a part of it! Now, go get busy for Adam!!!
Love and thanks!
Your Fan Club Leaders
**THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT ALL PICTURES WILL BE USED. SOME EDITING AND/OR CROPPING MAY BE NECESSARY. ALL PICTURES ARE SUBMITTED ON A STRICTLY VOLUNTARY BASIS.
Congratulations to Adam Lambert for being named in People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive issue. As dedicated AdamFans, this comes as no surprise. We’ve been screaming this since discovering Adam last January! But we are so glad that the mainstream media is including him and making a statement that will further chip away at the equality barriers.
See here for more.
I remember starting a write-in/email campaign in the American Idol forums encouraging other fans to nominate Adam for this. I’d like to think our efforts had some part in this, no matter how small. One tiny voice can start an avalanche. We know it can rock our world!!

Only seconds after submitting “Media Jumps in Response to “Open Letter to Adam” comes this humorous response by Joe Vogel from The Huffington Post. Adam even tweeted: hilarious.
I’m ROTFLMAO! I’m sure you will be too!
~Carol~
Dear Adam,
After reading Aaron Hickler’s (sic) open letter, I felt compelled to summarize and add a few more of my own suggestions on how you might further prove your “gayness” to the “gay community” (the gay community, of course, being defined as a monolithic entity of one heart and one mind). It is my hope that said suggestions will allow you to eventually break the chains of a record company that has controlled so many of your decisions over the past several months.
I like you, Adam, I really do. That is why I freely offer these pearls of wisdom on how to celebrate, not dilute, the purity of your sexual identity.
1. As an openly gay man, you must be “unapologetically flamboyant” at all times. No going “hetero,” or “stripped down,” even if it’s for a Motown song.
2. For the love of man, no photo shoots with naked women, especially smokin’ hot “six-foot barbies”; not only does this compromise the box God put you in, it might cause or give the illusion of temporary bi-curiosity, thereby inflaming the fantasies of millions more “barbies.”
3. Please refrain from saying women are “pretty” (or kittens). That’s not gay at all. Well, maybe the latter, but definitely not the former.
4. In the future, please make an LGBT magazine your first choice of appearance. Scrap that. In the future, please make Out–the highest circulated gay magazine in the United States, available at stores everywhere–your first magazine of choice. We hear you sell a lot of magazines and we want in–for gay rights, of course!
5. Please re-consider your gay-hating handlers, particularly 19 Records. They clearly have too much control over your creative choices. Could that album cover have been any more straight and predictable?
6. Not to mention all those censored moments on American Idol. Did you really think we wouldn’t notice who was pulling the strings on the vapid song choices and dull presentations of “Ring of Fire,” “Black or White,” “Mad World,” and “Change is Gonna Come.”
7. Which brings me to my next item: The gay community is troubled that while you have “come out” twice you keep going back “in.” To resolve this dilemma, and make absolutely clear to fans that you are indeed a gay man, we propose an “I’m gay” disclaimer on all album covers of For Your Entertainment
8. In addition, while the glam vibe of your album might make your “gayness” implicit, we suggest a few adjustments to song titles that will make clearer whose side you’re really on: “Strut (Like a Gay Man)”, “(Gays are) Sure Fire Winners,” and “Whataya Want From Me (Okay, I’ll be the Gay Messiah).”
9. If you forget everything else, remember that as a gay man you must convey your gayness unequivocally, at all times, and on the “gay community’s” terms. In the future, we will be watching to ensure your compliance (and maintain a blog for your discretions)
10. And finally, as a “gay pioneer,” remember that we are “all counting on you not to mess this up.” No pressure. Gay salvation depends on your career path. As the gay pop culture prophet Perez Hilton warns, you can either be a cog for the mainstream music machine or the gay community. There are no other options. You cannot be complex, you cannot be both masculine and feminine, you cannot resist labels or boxes, you cannot experiment, you cannot form your own identity, you cannot just be. You must always match stereotypes, meet expectations. Of course, if you do slip up and need to come out again as a gay man, Out Magazine would be happy to provide the platform.
Sincerely,
The Gay Thought, Fashion, and Culture Police
*Author’s Note: There will be several articles on this topic. Already, additional responses have appeared.*

The whirlwind around Adam continues! The gay and straight communities immediately started voicing their opposition to yesterday’s publication of OUT Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Aaron Hicklin’s bizarre demonstration of his own insecurities.
All of this comes as the music industry and Adam’s fans - basically the world, are preparing to celebrate the week we’ve been longing for. No, it’s not enough to just enjoy the countdown to the AMAs on Sunday night when we’ll see what we anticipate will be the most jaw-dropping live performance ever. Or the tick-tock of the clock until we get our copies of For Your Entertainment next week. Or the dizzying need to keep checking the TV Guide to find every show he’ll be on promoting the CD and making sure we’ve got enough time left on our DVRs to capture it.
Our week of glory, what many of us felt would be the justification of our outrage over Kris Allen winning the Idol title, has been interrupted by a man with a completely different agenda.
For some reason Hicklin has such tunnel vision that he’s biting the hand that feeds him by throwing Adam “under the bus.” It wasn’t enough that his magazine wrote the most intriguing article on Adam that I’ve read post-Idol. Something that finally went beyond the “what will your first album be like?” dribble. Hicklin had to cloud the issue by exercising his editorial privilege and bad judgement when he delivered an Open Letter to Adam.
Our own Jeanette (Author Supreme!) has already written the article on that for this website. If you haven’t read it yet, you can find it here.
A response from the Planet Fierce web site has started the defense. We even know what Adam is feeling about this, courtesy of Twitter. Adam’s tweets follow this article excerpt.

Response to “Open Letter to Adam”

After reading Adam Lambert’s candid and revealing interview on the Out website (published in conjunction with their Out 100 print edition) I was disheartened to read an open letter to Adam from Out’s editor-in-chief, Aaron Hicklin, in Out Magazine.
In the letter, Hicklin calls out 19 Entertainment and RCA Records (Adam’s management team and record label respectively) for attempting to “neutralize” Adam’s sexuality and keep his appearances in LGBT publications toned down for fear of his appearing “too gay.” Hicklin expresses frustration that Out was denied a cover during Adam’s American Idol run, and not a little jealousy at the recent Details Magazine cover and photo spread. But further, he criticizes Adam’s management team for heavy-handedness in skewing perceptions in order to not lose potential record sales.
Today, Hicklin’s letter is on the Out website, with supporting commentary by the female journalist who interviewed Adam, Shana Naomi Krochmal.
Is Hicklin telling the truth? I don’t know. I suspect we may never know if 19/RCA ignores what amounts to a school yard challenge over which team gets bragging rights.
But is Adam Lambert a prize over which sides needs scuffle? That’s where I’m coming up empty.
From what I read in print publications and websites, there seem to be at least two factions in the war over Adam Lambert’s image. On the right, we have the conservative heterosexuals who fear that Adam is too gay for mainstream. On the left are members of the gay community, who accuse Adam of not being gay enough. Somewhere in the middle is Adam, his fanbase…and the truth.
I’d like to clarify and refute some of Aaron Hicklin’s claims. Others have already done so on blogs, forums, and the mother of all communication vehicles, twitter. But, indulge me.
Hicklin asserts that Adam and team (because the open letter seems to lump Adam in as one of the bad guys) refused an Out cover early on in the Idol competition.
Likely true. But not at all surprising or problematic. Why? Idol contestants are barred from communicating with the press during the show’s run. Entertainment Weekly may have put Adam on their cover before the competition ended, but they used stock photos and existing quotes. No other magazine got a cover story early on except for Rolling Stone, which published their issue two weeks after the show’s conclusion. And based on Adam’s assertion that he is a musician that happens to be gay, rather than a gay that happens to be a musician, most would agree Rolling Stone was the best place for his “outing” after the show’s finale. That’s just good business. Sorry, Hicklin.
1 point to Team Lambert.

Dear Readers, please let us know what you think about this!
~Carol~
We’ve all read and heard the names over and over who are contributing songs and production talents to what we feel is the most anticipated album/CD in history, right? We’ve heard about Rob Cavallo, Claude Kelly, Dr. Luke, Linda Perry, Ryan Tedder and Max Martin, in addition to performers Justin Hawkins of The Darkness, Pink, Lady Gaga, Muse, and even Adam’s own very close friend Alisan Porter. It sounds like Hollywood is tripping over themselves to work with Adam, right? But who are these people? While most of us know Pink and Lady Gaga, and some of us even know Muse and Justin Hawkins, I really don’t know about the others, do you?
So while we wait for the “For Your Entertainment” release on November 23, let’s learn about Max Martin. I found the following article, and thought you you might like to know too! It’s not an Adam-driven article, but it does mention him in the end, that you’ll reach if you click on the link. There’s even some delicious videos taking us back to the dreamy sounds of Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson and an innocent Britney Spears; careers in which Max Martin had an instrumental role in. We’ve all educated ourselves on so much new information since the birth of IdolAdam, so here’s one more piece to add to our AdamKnowlege.
~Carol~
From PopEater by Steve Baltin.
Sure, it was Katy Perry who kissed a girl and Britney Spears who sang “Livin’ in sin is the new thing,” but the words are actually those of Max Martin, a 38-year-old Swedish producer that some would argue is the biggest pop songwriter in the world.
“He was the guy who ushered in teen pop being more like a form of creative expression,” Ann Powers, pop music critic for the L.A. Times tells PopEater. “Look at [producers] Stargate, Ryan Tedder — they wouldn’t exist without Max or the success he had. There’s been a huge shift in the 21st century towards appreciating mainstream pop and I would base that as a shift to when Max Martin started.”
If these sound like heady claims, just ask one of the artists most closely associated with Martin’s rise and career. “I’ve always credited Max with being the godfather, the Berry Gordy of the Backstreet Boys,” BSB member Howie Dorough says. “He helped us establish our sound and some of our biggest hits have come from him, so we will always be indebted to Max. He truly could be the sixth Backstreet Boy.”
So who is this man with the Midas touch when it comes to writing hits? Born in Stockholm, Martin actually started his music career as the frontman of glam-metal act It’s Alive in the mid-’80s. The band was signed to Cherion Records, a label owned by Denniz Pop, who recruited Martin to become a producer/songwriter after It’s Alive proved to be the only thing Martin was involved in that didn’t top the charts.

Adam was on-air with Ryan Seacrest this morning. He debuted what we’ve been waiting oh-so-patiently for, Adam’s first single, For Your Entertainment. And Mr. Lambert, after listening to this, your fans will not patiently wait 3 more weeks for the entire album! Adam has gone above and beyond in this first single. Everything that we’ve known he could deliver is coming to us. After reading the lyrics, I just can’t go on. I’m sure you’ll understand. Just you wait!!
~Carol~
And here are the lyrics. Special caution to the weak of heart - you’re about to experience something like you’ve never read before!! Fasten your seatbelt and read them while you listen to the song!
**Edit on 10/31: After walking around the grocery store and Costco with my iPod playing this song over and over on repeat this morning, I’ve determined some new corrections to the lyrics. Instead of “A fallen angel swept you off your feet” I think it’s “You thought an angel . . .” I’ve got to tell you, today is Halloween and the kids are in the shopping centers collecting candy from the stores. It’s a little weird singing this song, which we know what the words are about, surrounded by all these precious 3 year olds!
Feel free to let us know what you think, but please try to keep it clean!!
For Your Entertainment

So hot, out the box, can we pick up the pace?
Turn it up, heat it up, I need to be entertained
Push the limit, are you with it?
Baby, don’t be afraid
I’m a hurt you real good, baby
Let’s go, that’s my show, baby do what I say
Don’t trip off the glitz, that I’m gonna display

Give it to you ’til you’re screaming my name
No escaping when I start, once I’m in I own your heart
There’s no way you’ll ring the alarm, so hold on until it’s over
Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I’m ’bout to do?
‘Cause it’s about to get rough for you
I’m here for your entertainment
Oh, I bet you thought I was awfully sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
But I’m about to turn up the heat
I’m here for your entertainment
It’s alright you’ll be fine baby, I’m in control
Take the pain take the pleasure, I’m the master of both
Close your eyes not your mind let me into your soul
I’m a work it ’til you’re totally blown
No escaping when I start
Once I’m in I own your heart
There’s no way you’ll ring the alarm
So hold on until it’s over
Oh, do you know what you got into?
Can you handle what I’m ’bout to do?
‘Cause it’s about to get rough for you
I’m here for your entertainment
Oh, I bet you thought I was awfully sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
But I’m about to turn up the heat
I’m here for your entertainment
Oh oh…

Oh oh…
Do you like what you see?
Let me entertain you until you scream
Oh, do you know what you got into?

I’m here for your entertainment
Oh, I bet you thought I was awfully sweet
You thought an angel swept you off your feet
But I’m about to turn up the heat
I’m here for your entertainment
I’m sitting at home getting ready to watch Oprah’s salute to reality stars and I turn the television on early. Family Feud comes on and the question is . . . Name a famous Adam. Of course the first thing I think of is Adam Lambert. But come on, I know he’s the most important Adam in OUR lives, but who are they polling? It’s amazing how many people I still talk to who have never heard of Adam Lambert.
So they reveal the answers. Of couse Adam and Eve, Adam Sandler, and John Adams are there. And son of a gun, so is Adam Lambert!!! You know you’re a star when you’re an answer on a game show!!!
**Addition - I forgot to include that Adam Ant (my favorite from the 80s) received 14 votes and Adam Lambert received 4!!
I know this isn’t very meaningful, but I just thought you’d enjoy a little fun!!
~Carol~
Here’s the video of Adam on Oprah! As I write this, it’s still 5 hours before my viewing time today. I’m not sure if this is his entire time on camera, or if this is edited. Randy Jackson will also be on, so I’m hoping he’ll speak at length about Adam! Not to criticize Oprah, but I can’t believe she wasted half the time asking Adam what he did before Idol?!?! His tone of voice even sounded surprised by her elementary questions. I could almost hear him thinking, “come on Oprah, I’ve been asked this a million times already.”
Our Fan Club Leader Sue was in the audience with her daughter at this taping. She was singled out from hundreds of audience applicants to ask Adam a question, but Oprah used too much time with her own questions, dang it! Click here to see Sue’s write up of her experience, posted previously on this site!

Hi Readers!
Every minute there’s new information to read about Adam’s upcoming (when will it ever get here??) debut album. Here’s an article from James Dinh at MTV giving us more of what we are dying to read about.
Enjoy! Carol
“American Idol” alum Adam Lambert will soon join Britney Spears in the group of acts that Lady Gaga has penned tracks for. In a partnership made in disco heaven (and more important, confirmed via Twitter), the collaboration will be featured on Lambert’s debut album, For Your Entertainment. On Tuesday, Lady Gaga spilled details to Dallas radio station KISS 106.1 on how their partnership came to be.
“I worked with Adam. I think it was last week,” Gaga told the station. “They called me. They asked me to write for him. I was actually like, ‘Geez, I got this record that I wrote a while ago.’ It’s, like, a total hit, smash record, but for some reason, like, I couldn’t get it right with me doing it, and I said, ‘Gosh, it would be perfect for him.’ ”
While the “Paparazzi” singer may not have been able to record the song to her liking, it sounds like Lambert didn’t have any problems.
“I played it for him and he’s like, ‘Oh my God, I love it,’ and he went crazy, so we did it. He’s a funny guy, he’s a good guy,” she said.
Gaga, who is set to release The Fame: Monster in November, also noted that she leaves her onstage persona at the door when it’s time to write songs for other musicians.
“When I do things like this, it’s important for me and the artist to remember that I’m not an artist in that room, I’m a songwriter. It’s Adam’s time and it’s his song and I want him to enjoy this moment in his life. You never debut again. You only get one time,” she explained.
And boy is Adam making this a debut like no one has ever done before!!
Way back in May 2009, when the most important thing in my world was for people to get the message that we needed to Vote For Adam, I decorated my car window. I figured this would be a great way to get the message across.
I got so many honks and thumbs up signs from fellow drivers, that I was sure I’d made some impact, if only to put a smile on the San Diego freeways. When I would come out to my car in a parking lot, there was always someone there pointing to my car, and asking me if I knew Adam.
At the Homecoming at the radio station, my car was parked right where Adam HAD to see it when he entered in his limo, as long as he was looking in the right direction. The reporters at the station made sure they photographed it, and pictures of it ended up on the station’s web site.
Then the earth shook. Voting results were released and my car was behind-the-times. My son and husband were sure I’d remove the sign entirely, but oh no, not this fan. I had something more I wanted to say. Judging by the responses I still got from other drivers, I knew I wasn’t alone.
When the Tour Concerts were over, I knew I had to make another change. I had to let go of Idol as Adam was embracing his career and starting on his blistering romp of turning ears and eyes. My son (who is using my car to commute to college with) was begging me at this point to take the sign down. He was groaning about “how hard it was to meet girls when the back of your car is a testament to Adam Lambert!” I had sympathy for him, and agreed to make a change. Thankfully, he supplied me with my next and still-to-this-day current homage. Even my husband could approve, seeing as how it’s “business-related.” I’m still working on getting our words about Adam out to the public. And people are still asking me if I know Adam!
Just to throw a little icing on this sweet piece, my dear friend Lila, another Fan Leader on this web site, did me one better!

Adam Lambert will reunite with former American Idol judge Paula Abdul later this month — for an awards show.
The flamboyant singer — who came second in the smash hit FOX TV talent show — and Abdul, who predicted Lambert would reach the finals of Idol, will join rapper Snoop Dogg on Oct. 13 to announce the American Music Award nominees.
The nominations will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The AMAs will air on Nov. 22 on ABC.
Lambert — whose debut album last month topped the Amazon.com sales list — recently revealed that he dreams of financial security.
“I’m looking forward to banking that paycheck,” he said in June. “I’m not going to lie, I mean, that’s not my first priority, but, you know, I think for all of us, having gone through experience, to be able to walk away with some financial security in these tough times is really nice.”
They’re doing a blitz for the movie 2012 tonight on TV, and we MAY hear a bit of Adam’s song. Check here and scroll down to the 2012 portion for details. http://adamlamberttv.blogspot.com/2009/09/remember-to-watch-tv-tomorrow-night.html
Please, if his song is not used, don’t come down on me!
Here’s hoping we’ll hear it!!

We’re all counting down the “seconds, hours, so many days” until we have Adam’s still-untitled debut album in our hot little hands. In fact, you can keep your eye on the ticking countdown time on the right side of this web site to keep up- to-the-moment on the release. But there’s even more news - - now Adam’s beating not only The Beatles, but Madonna too! When Adam was sitting in Madonna’s living room months before Idol started, and he told her he loved her and was intimidated by her, her response was “so love equals intimidation to you?” Well Madonna, in your wildest imagination, did you ever think this young performer would be beating you in ANY category even before his first song had been heard???

“AMERICAN IDOL” runner- up Adam Lambert is bigger than Madonna and even The Beatles.
Within hours of making his yet-to-be-released album available for pre-order on Amazon.com, a frenzy of ordering drove Lambert’s ranking all the way to No. 2 on the online retailer’s bestsellers list.
That put Lambert ahead of Madonna, The Beatles and world-wide sensation Susan_Boyle.
Lambert’s album won’t be released until Nov. 24. The only CD that out-ranked him yesterday was Barbra Streisand’s first new record in four years.
Sorry for the interruption, Carol here: ADAM IS NOW #1 ON THE SALES!!! 9/29/09 @ 4:17 PM PST.
The sky-rocket sales seem to indicate two things: that “Idol” packs an unprecedented punch in the music business and that Lambert, like Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry in past seasons, may quickly overshadow the singer who beat him in the final vote, Kris Allen.

Remarkably, Lambert’s record company, RCA, did not announce that it was taking pre-release orders. The sales were all propelled by word of mouth.
Lambert and his fellow Top 10 “Idols,” including Allen and 4th-place finisher Allison Iraheta wrapped up their “American Idols Live” tour a few weeks ago.
Fans, left without their daily fix, have been scouring the Internet for news of their “Idol” favorites.
It was during one of these searches, early Sunday morning, when a Lambert fan discovered that Adam’s album was available.
Within hours, word of the album’s availability on Amazon spread across the Internet. The online social networking site, Twitter, lit up with the news. Fans traveled from “Idol” blogs to Lambert fanboards to spread the word to other fans. Soon, the album, which has yet to be named, began climbing up the Amazon Bestsellers List.
By late Sunday afternoon, it hit No. 4. Later that evening, it peaked at No. 2.
Lambert has been working on his album with a slew of industry a-listers including Lady Gaga’s producer RedOne, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder and “Since U Been Gone” hit maker Max Martin.
The album has also made its way onto several critics’ “most anticipated” lists.
This is what we’ve all been waiting to hear!!

OK, I know that an inflammatory blog title like the one above might create an outcry not unlike the hubbub that ensued when the Beatles’ own John Lennon declared that the Beatles were bigger than God. But here’s a fact: Only a few hours after being listed on Amazon, Adam Lambert’s pre-orderable debut album is already at #2 on the site’s Bestsellers chart…above Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, fellow Simon Cowell-affiliated reality star Susan Boyle (whose own debut comes out the same day as Adam’s, November 24), and–yes–the Beatles.

What makes this early sales feat especially impressive is the fact that no one (except for a few lucky industry insiders) have even heard any material from Adam’s album yet. While the buzz grows ever-buzzier with news of the album’s many interesting collaborators (Idol judge Kara Dioguardi, Green Day producer Rob Cavallo, Australian electro auteur Sam Sparro, glam-pop piano man Ferras, Swedish hitmaker Max Martin, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Lady Gaga producers RedOne and Claude Kelly, Nashville songwriter Aimee Mayo…the A-list goes on and on), and the hype surrounding possible lead single “Strut” is especially high, there’s been no Lambert single leaked online or previewed on the radio.
Conversely, American Idol winner Kris Allen’s first single, a catchy cover of the Script’s B-side track “Live Like We’re Dying,” has already premiered to largely positive reactions–but his own debut album, which comes out November 17, is still surprisingly only at #132 on the Amazon chart. While it’s safe to assume that Kris’s album will enjoy a stellar first sales week in November, and will probably even enter the Billboard chart at #1, it doesn’t seem to have the same pre-release buzz as Adam’s right now.
Clearly, Adam’s album is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2009. Some diehard fans have already ordered multiple copies. In fact, as of this writing, the only pop star Adam’s been unable to topple on the Amazon chart is Barbra Streisand…but hey, coming in second to the almighty Babs ain’t too shabby.
Here is an absolutely adorable compilation video done of all the KRADAM Tour dances. OMG - could we love them any more??? Thanks to elocin19 for putting these together.

Not to let Jeanette outdo me, but here are some additional songs that Adam performed solo during the appearance at Ford on Friday, September 19th.
Both Adam and Kris had solo time on stage. Adam was introduced with a nice bio piece, followed with Starlight. No, this is not a repeat of the Tour version, but an acoustic version. Ahhhhhh.
Thank goodness he didn’t disappear from us for too long!

Here’s Adam singing Tracks of My Tears and Mad World. Ahhh - so beautiful.
Here it is, September 16th. Yesterday was payday - hooray, I can go buy lots of groceries now. And the fiscal year is coming to an end, so I’ve got to get some insurance paperwork in before the end of the month. Oh yeah, end of the month - it’s my husband’s birthday on the 30th. I’ve got to think of something really special. But there’s something else gnawing at me. That date represents something else really big.
Oh no! That’s right - the end of the American Idol tour. I don’t even want to think about it. I won’t be able to start my days with YouTube clips from the previous night’s concerts, held someplace back east. My concert was in the beginning - during the second week. Concert Number Ten in San Diego. We were so junior then. Back when Adam had just started putting his hand to his ears and calling out for more screams during Whole Lotta Love.
I had black polish on my nails, but I took beautiful peacock blue polish to my pedicure the day before the concert. I’ve kept it on since then. I guess now is an appropriate time to take out the polish remover and cotton balls and finally clean it all off. Kind of symbolic.
Just out of curiousity, how are all of you, our faithful readers dealing with this momentous day? Please comment and let us know!
