Another fantastic performance from Adam and crew was witnessed on Friday night at the sold out Cotillion Ballroom in Witchita, Kansas. The following article was reported by Denise Neil of the Witchita Eagle, immediately followed by performance videos uploaded to YouTube by “texaseric1″ and ”glitterandspice.”
If you have a spare 5 minutes and 44 seconds, be sure to watch the slightly-psychedelic version of “Whole Lotta Love.” :) Another of my personal favorites is this performance of “Sleepwalker.” If you were personally there…let us know your experience. For those of us yet to see a show (like me, who just purchased Houston Hobby Center tickets yesterday!), the excitement continues to build! ~Dana, Glamb #6
Lambert’s showiness doesn’t disappoint Wichita fans
I don’t think there is an answer to that question when it comes to Adam! So, here you go. These photos were taken by “Judy” at the Milwaukee concert. The full link for her concert photo album is at the end of this post if you would like to see more pics, including Orianthi and Allison. Judy, if you are out there, thanks so much for sharing these!
These are my 10 favorites (and boy was it hard to choose!) …just breathe. Deep breaths — in, out, in, out! What a wonderful job of capturing all the expressions and emotions that go into Adam’s performances. ~Dana, Glamb #6

Is there anyone else out there trying to actually avoid some of the tour videos because you want to be at least *a little* surprised when you go to the concert yourself?? I’m on the tail end of Texas, hoping Adam will have a few new surprises for us by the time he gets here…and won’t be too wiped out to perform! But these videos from Milwaukee last night…well, you just can’t avoid them. If the acoustic version of Whole Lotta Love doesn’t send you straight over the edge, then check your pulse! And thanks for all the great YouTube videos, mindchngr!
Sue was at the show last night and promises to be back later this evening with her personal photos and account of the evening. Hurry, Sue - we can’t wait! In the meantime, enjoy. ~Dana, Glamb #6
I wish that all the venues will be able to put up signs like this one in Columbus, Ohio for Adam’s Glam Nation Tour! Here are a few fan pictures from Mars (REDSTAR040665). Thanks for sharing them! How you have gotten glammed-up (or plan to) for the concert? These ladies did a fierce job! ~Dana, Glamb #6

Who better than Adam to be a fashion correspondent? When you have your own style in check like no other celebrity
, you can take your expertise to the next level. Honestly, I can’t see Adam really criticizing anyone’s choice of attire for the evening…but he says he will “call them out” if they are a “fashion DON’T!” I guess we’ll just have to watch! -Dana, Glamb #6
Best-selling singing sensation Adam Lambert is bringing his style expertise to the Grammy red carpet this Sunday as ET’s fashion correspondent and in this all-new blog, the fan favorite reveals who he’s excited to see!
Some stars he can’t wait to see? Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Ke$ha to name a few.
“I’m really excited for the divas,” he tells ET. “I’m excited to see what these girls are going to bring to the table — they always look fabulous. I have a feeling they’re not going to fail, they never really do but if they do I’m gonna call them out on it.”
But Lambert promises his critiques won’t be mean-spirited.
“I’ll be nice, to a point,” he says, “but constructive.”
And he says the guys will have him to compete with.
“So the guys, they’re always wearing suits, I want to see creativity,” he says. “Hopefully they’ll step their game up when they see what I’m wearing because you know I’m going to go for it.”

Adam threw his own party for a 170+ guests at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles… Now I bet that was some party! Here’s the scoop that he gave ET Online before the bash (I love Adam when he is giddy!). Watch for photo updates. -Dana, Glamb #6
…is only weeks away? I think the concert, date, and venue caught some of us off-guard. Fantasy Springs Resort in Palm Springs? February 27th? You had to be quick to get the good tickets…and some of us did!
More details here…as of this writing, the cheaper seats are still available: http://www.fantasyspringsresort.com/prod/entertain/entertain.php#adam_lambert

It is Adam’s birthday week, so we are going to start celebrating a little earlier than his official birthday on Friday, January 29th. The video below was compiled from all the photos sent in for our “Happy Glambirthday” project…along with a few others submitted to us from the American Idol Summer Tour. There is a ton of love here…from the detailed posters, to the beaming smiles, to the heartfelt messages, to the actual creation of the video. People from all over the globe participated…and all of this makes for one giant, video E-card to Adam from Glambs International!
Happy Glambirthday, Adam!

Finally, Part II of the Jill and Olga Adventure on the Oprah Show! Read Part I here if you need to catch up first. Thanks, Jill and Olga, for sharing your story and pictures with us! -Dana, Glamb #6

The Adventure, Part II:
So I’m going to say right now that the whole afternoon was a bit surreal. I’m going to apologize in advance if I don’t do our boy justice because I read your “stuff” out here all the time and even though I’m enthusiastic, I’ve never bedazzled a piece of clothing, or put on dark polish until today – nor do I have time to blog on sites all day long, but it is my indulgent outlet after my daughter is down at night. We all have our different “levels” of fan-dom, and again, he’s what gives us all a common thread and binds us together in such a beautiful way – with a non-judgemental unconditional love and support like no other.
So Susan Boyle kicked off the show…she had full orchestra behind her, and a brief interview with Oprah. Oprah, by the way, is hilarious…she walks barefoot around the studio and then kind of motions for staff to bring her her heels, her flats, etc…her staff is pretty much at her beck and call.
Then FINALLY the moment we’ve all been dying for…stage change, setup for Adam’s band, setup for interview, at a more laid back pace since this taping is not live.
Yes – WOW – I’m sure you felt it too…so exhilarating, touching, heartwarming…seeing Adam as almost a shy guy – but oh so real…adorable beyond words. How do I describe being there? Digging deep all I can say is that it felt like dying and going to heaven. Just hanging out with Adam and the band all afternoon…so relaxed, low key. After the interview, they did sound checks first. What you didn’t see is that Adam performed each song TWICE…Oprah just sat back and let him “entertain us” as we danced & sang along!
As you have seen the interview was a lot of the same questions we’ve heard Adam answer a gazillion times, but his character, his charisma, his essence of just being who he is sitting up there talking we were both on the edge of our seats, hanging on every word. My face hurt from smiling so much.
I was in utter awe and couldn’t have asked for more. I was seated maybe 10+ rows back (no seat is a bad seat), but Adam still felt too far away. I wanted to be able to reach out and touch him…not in a weird crazy fan way. But it’s just the feeling of not being able to ever get close enough to the energy that emanates from him. You just want to bask in the glow of it and never want it to end!
So how did it all end?
When Adam was done, followed by much frenzied dancing, clapping, and screaming “we love you adam,” we lingered in the studio as others left until security asked if we were waiting for something? Duh?! Of course we were waiting to meet the man himself – LOL! He apparently went to Oprah radio for an interview. We slowly left drinking in every last second of our unbelievable day.
Well it’s never an end – only a beginning. Not ready to “leave” the magic behind, we thought we’d take a chance at Adam leaving the hotel to get that “meet and greet” we never had the opportunity to get at the AI concerts. And then we came upon Monte & Longineu! They were headed to the Oprah store, but took the time to sign our CD covers, and listen to us rant on and on how grateful we were they were Adam’s band, how much we enjoyed the music, what it’s done for us. etc.
We bambled like a bunch of idiots, I’m certain of it, but in the end, they were the most down to earth, receptive, genuine guys who we probably could have gone over to the Oprah store with In fact when we were ready to walk away, if we hadn’t asked for a photo opportunity, I’m thinking they would have offered it to us without asking?! LOL!
We get to the area where the limo buses are waiting, with only a handful, maybe a dozen fans waiting for Adam, then Tommy walks out! Again brazen Olga jumps out in front of everyone else and we get his autograph and photos with him…another super awesome approachable guy! Should we go for broke?!
Olga asks Tommy if Adam is coming out? He tells us he’s in a separate limo coming out of the basement garage shortly…darn – we are this close?! It would have been the shortest “meet and greet” line in history for him! Two minutes later the limo made it’s way past and he was gone. Our hearts sank – but what more could two blondies ask for? Didn’t we almost have it all? We decided to “strut” out of there full of adam “fever” – but wait…Leila and a friend emerge from the building next…should we or shouldn’t we?
As Mom’s ourselves, we weren’t certain what to do. Leila headed to the Oprah store and we just kind of chilled for a bit. I mean we got to see Adam on Oprah, meet the band…who would have ever thunk it?
Olga & I just looked at each other – ya’ only live once! Before I even knew what I was doing – & WITHOUT wanting to appear like some stalker fan, I simply said – “excuse me, Mrs. Lambert?” – and with that she turned and gave us the biggest smile. I’m not sure if she’s not used to being called Mrs Lambert, but she was so cute. I launched in to how we didn’t want to be disrespectful of her time, but as mothers of 2 year old girls who loved Adam as do Olga and I that we just wanted to thank her for giving us the gift that Adam is. She was so very receptive and just nodded and thanked us for telling her. By then her friend had hailed a cab and we were so wanting to ask her for a photo, but did not want to tarnish the exchange we just had with her. She told us how sweet we were, how much she appreciated our words, and actually blew us kisses, and smiled. Talk about classy! Now we know where Adam gets it from - his proud Mother!
We walked to the car, got in, and just breathed and laughed and kind of didn’t know what to do next. Feeling like we couldn’t have made more of this day… riding on a high no drug could give us, I was ecstastic and couldn’t wait to share with all of you who “get it.” How incredibly spectacular this adventure was for us…a once in a lifetime experience we’ll carry in our hearts forever.
Parched with dehydration from not eating or drinking practically all day – we pounded chocolate shakes and literally blasted FEVER singing and smiling all the way home…SOAKED with emotion, allowing Adam’s music to “pick us up”, as we were like “sleepwalkers” – but today was our TFM!
It was “Glambs Galore” at the Oprah show! Will the stars align for Jill and Olga’s trip to Chicago for an Adam encounter? You’ll have to read Part I today (and Part II tomorrow!) to find out the complete adventure. Enjoy! Dana, Glamb #6
The Adventure, Part I:

Wednesday 1/13/2010 - The alarm went off at 3:30 a.m. after a semi-conscious 4 hour sleep…you know, the kind you get when you are leaving on vacation, afraid you’ll oversleep and miss your plane, feeling so much anticipation, the wonderful excitement of the “unknown”, OR something so unpredictable, that your tummy has those butterflies that are teasing, tantalizing, enticing, and tormenting all at once?!
A week earlier, on our very own adam-lambert.org site, one of my fellow glambs posted an Oprah link calling out to all Adam Lambert fans. I immediately went to the site to try to put in to words why I was his biggest fan and should be on the show. I found it hard to articulate – so much was on the line, namely the opportunity to be in the audience for Adam’s Oprah show! I struggled but finally hit Submit just praying I would get a call!
Two days after the Adam link disappeared, Olga emailed the 3 of us that she had gone on to Oprah to see if she could get in to a “random” audience. She ended up getting a call back for an episode called “Marriages Around the World” – which was taping on 1/13 Wed in the a.m…and lo and behold Adam was being taped in the p.m!?!?! What a stroke of luck… maybe, just maybe we could get in the afternoon taping?!?!? Yes, totally a MAJOR LONG SHOT but just the thought of breathing the same air as Adam was at Harpo studios, or even just to steal a glimpse…
Neither Mary nor Jeanette could go, so Olga and I set off on our adventure. We met at the Park & Ride at 5:15 a.m…both like giddy schoolgirls, embarking on this secret expedition – knowing our goal and praying that there was a remote chance the next 12 hours would be the most unforgettable of our lives.
Drum roll please: Here is where the stars began to align on our journey. 1st– I reveal my shimmery blue black nails to Olga telling her I bought the polish on a whim this week just “in case” and had never done a color like this before but loved the name - ”midnight affair.” She said, “me either”- flashed her hand and said, “midnight affair!!” You have got to be kidding me?! What are the chances?! Our first “sign”! LOL!!
On our speedy ride to the windy city of Chicago – just 90 minutes from Milwaukee, traffic was on our side – but Mapquest wasn’t! When we exited we got lost for 10 minutes before Olga became my human GPS, and beautifully found our way there. Hearts racing, we primped, jumped out, paid our $30 for parking, and headed for the doors.
Oprah runs her place like a well-oiled machine. A hive of worker bees hummed around her and the next couple of hours went without a hitch. We were herded in to coat check, security, and then a holding room. Olga and I were restless, in and out…asking questions how we could get in to the p.m. taping?
At one point I needed to get to my bag in security for some meds, (they confiscate everything – cameras, cell phones, etc.). I had to ask for water to take the meds and one of the security guys asked me if I was ill, diabetic, did I need some sugar? He handed me some juice, and moved on, although Olga nudged me and said I should have played the “sick card” to get back stage! Silly me…
After almost two hours in the studio, our taping time was winding down. Oprah thanked us, said her goodbyes, and then the “rah rah” gal of the show ran up and said “please take your seats.” Olga and I squeezed hands and before she said “afternoon openings,” we jumped up and screamed like we had won the friggin lottery!
Our adrenaline pumping, she calmly said to go see Cheryl if we wanted to be on stand-by for the afternoon show. Herein lies the “timing” of the day just falling magically in to place for us based on our “lost” episode…which ultimately gave us our number in line, which pretty much determined where we ended up seated in the morning, which gloriously ended up being about 10 feet from Cheryl!
Olga and I raced over screaming and practically tackled Cheryl, as we got our names as numbers 1 & 2 on standby for ADAM!!! Was this really happening?! OMG – seriously…we were both in shock as she told us to take a lunch break & be back in an hour in the standby line. Was this a guarantee? Do we take a chance?
Heck no…we went right back in line where we had begun our day just 4 hours earlier to hopefully have this dream come true. We were both in a kind of daze at this point – not wanting to get our hopes up too high. We tried to just relax, calm down, unwind, and breathe.
Can you say LONGEST two hours of our lives? As we sat in line with other diehard excited ADAM fans, we also learned there were people in line who hadn’t even heard of Adam. WHAT?! Susan Boyle fans were there too. What a weird combination - like oil & water…but both passionate for who we were there for!
Cheryl came out a number of times deflating our hopes. The standby line went from 16 to 4…she said it was not looking good, she might be able to get 1 person in. We still clung on…I told her that if 1 of us got in it should be her since she got us here. Olga, so sweet, was torn - what an impossible situation to be in!
At 12:55, with 5 minutes to taping, Cheryl returned holding up 2 fingers. OMG!! Talk about being down to the wire! Again we screamed, practically tackled her, thanked her, kissed her, and told her how much we loved her! We ran through the security line since we knew the “drill” from the morning and headed directly to the studio. Everyone was already seated, and we had to separate, but didn’t care. WE WERE IN!
Never in a million years did we think this would happen. As much as we “wished” it…maybe in our guts “felt” it …in a whirlwind of a few weeks, here it was happening! After the AI concerts – I thought we’d never have an opportunity again to be this close to Adam.
…to be continued.

Thanks Oprah! …not only for having Adam on for a 45 minute interview and performance, but for inviting Sue and her daughter to be his “best fans.” While Sue is working out the details of her firsthand account of the show and all the backstage juicy details (I’m sure she is dealing with enough confidentiality paperwork to sink a battleship - and we have to keep everything legal!), here’s an article and a few videos to hold us over. Interview
Sue and Jessica Introducing “Whataya Want From Me”
After Show Performance of “If I Had You”
Backstage Interview
Oprah paid homage this afternoon to the quirky appeal of Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert (and, thus, to the massive power of Simon Cowell-judged televised talent contests). Despite Boyle’s absurd sales figures (8 million worldwide!), though, it was clear who the Oprah demo’s favorite was: Boyle was off the stage after about 15 minutes — a performance and a quick video package/interview about how she used to be regular and frumpy and now she’s famous — to make way for Adam to chat with Oprah and repeatedly visit a Los Angeles Whole Foods in video segments. And though there were no new revelations (he’s still gay!), he did manage to entertain, as usual. Among the things we learned:
1. At his favorite L.A. rocker store, Forgotten Saints, he could actually find a vinyl jacket with furry tufts that he felt went “too far.” (Sadly, it is not available on their website.)
2. He met Madonna for “five minutes” because his guitarist is her guitar teacher, and in those five minutes he told her he was intimidated because he loves her. Her rejoinder: “So love equals intimidation to you?” Can’t you just totally hear her saying that in her faux British accent thing?
3. “Adam is like energy.” That is how 15-year-old Jessica — who shares her Lambert love with mom Sue — explained her fandom just before oh my god being totally surprised when he showed up to give them both passes to his dress rehearsal! Honestly, at this point, how are people still surprised when their dreams come true on Oprah? If I ever get a call from anyone remotely connected to this show, I expect my life to change. And I will be very angry if it doesn’t happen.
And in honor of Jessica and Sue, he sang “Whataya Want from Me” — a very mom-friendly tune, as evidenced by his understated brown jacket, modest eyeliner, and all the ladies of a certain age singing along in the audience.

How many times have you listened to “Music Again?” A hundred…a thousand or more times? Adam is now telling all the behind the scenes scoop for each track on the album. Watch for future installments! Dana, Glamb #6
Black…White…does it matter? Adam is gorgeous and, once again, a new fashion-forward statement that will blow you away from tip to toe. Does anyone else look so fabulous in white? I think not! The Art of Elysium recruits actors, artists, and musicians to volunteer their time to offer creative workshops to children battling serious medical conditions. They won’t have any better creative talent than Adam! ~Dana, Glamb #6

***Updated with Video!*** Do we ever tire of seeing the next fashion statement that Adam will make? We already know he has great style, but it is always nice to see more and more people recognizing it! Apparently, celebrities feel a little more free to be themselves at this occasion without the scrutiny that other high-profile events typically draw to their choice of attire. Three cheers for freedom of expression! At the event, Adam and comedienne, Sarah Silverman, presented the Best Comedy award to “The Hangover.” ~Dana, Glamb #6
January 15, 2010 — Adam Lambert and Emily Blunt showed up all gussied up for the 15th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards at the Hollywood Palladium tonight. So did a slew of other celebrities.
Although this was a night to celebrate films, put up by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, it was also a night for show business fashionistas to dress to the nines without being concerned that the entire world would criticize their every clothing choice from head to toe (think the Oscars or the Golden Globes).
In this more low-key event, done up attendees out to take in this fine event seemed to have fun picking out their wardrobes without worrying about being put down by fashion critics. The results are outstanding (see photo show below)!
Meanhile, perhaps the venue where the awards show took place also inspired all that style and panache.
Indeed, the showy Hollywood Palladium — standing on the spot of the original Paramount Studios — is an Art Deco treasure, done up in streamlined moderne splendor.
Hailing back to the glory days when crooners like Frank Sinatra sang at this venerable establishment (Old Blue Eyes was the Hollywood Palladium’s first headliner on October 31,1940), this Los Angeles landmark provided plenty of glam in the form of a great building. Wide sweeping, tubular ceiling adornments create drama while the carefully crafted theater-in-the-round lets everyone see everything no matter where they are sitting. All this makes going to the Hollywood Palladium a real true Los Angeles treat.
So, at the end of tonight, this was definitely a wonderful place to be wearing a wonder wardrobe on a wonderful evening. So, without further ado, get a load of the duds and the celebs who wore them as these high-styled high-profilers walked down the red carpet for the 15th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
In a phrase: full of angst. And I LOVE IT! Once again, Adam delivers in this new video for “Whataya Want From Me.” I would say that he is an excellent actor, except I think he really feels the emotions in this song from the depths of his soul. Maybe no acting required. What do you think? Enjoy! -Dana, Glamb #6
***Updated with Oprah Promo Clip!***If you thought I was on a hiatus…NOT! I have been madly trying to organize, direct, produce, and edit the birthday video that many of you submitted photos for. Of course, with help from my Glamb sistas - but it has been a BIG job that I didn’t even know I was going to have (long story) until almost the last minute. So, it is nearly finished and ready for the “big reveal” a day or two before Adam’s birthday. Stay tuned! It is quite catchy, if I do say so myself.
In other news, if you missed the deadline for submitting your FYE drink recipes, there is still time! I won’t have time to organize them for judging until I am finished with the video. So, you can read the details here, and submit recipes to FYERecipes@glambs.org through January 25th.
Finally, check out and join a Glamb group in your area, or start a new one: http://www.glambs.org/InternationalLinks.html
And…be sure to set your TV recorder for Adam’s interview and performance on Oprah on Tuesday. You may be more surprised than you think!
Dana, Glamb #6
…and VEVO didn’t invite me? Dang. I would have started a pillow fight! But I have to say, stay off the balcony, that railing looked pretty flimsy. Dana, Glamb #6
Another great blog post idea from our very own Ingrid! :) …but it is going to be tough, so proceed at your own risk!
If money, time, logistics, and creativity were not an issue…what top 3 wishes would you have for Adam in 2010? Yes, only 3! I think my 3 wishes for him would be the simplier things in life, because goodness knows Adam has probably been too busy to really enjoy these things. But I don’t want to put too many ideas in your head — this is your post to be filled with wishes for Adam!
Happy Holidays everyone! My wish FOR ALL OF YOU is a 2010 filled with happiness, peace, and great music!
Dana, Glamb #6
All of Adam’s “Whataya Want From Me” televised performances are starting to kick in and deliver! For those of us who have been so impatient with radio airplay, I think we are finally starting to get some measurable action on this front due to all of the promotion…and we probably haven’t had to wait as long as it seems!
Earlier, I had reported that the nearly simultaneous release of the singles “For Your Entertainment” and “Whataya Want From Me” were causing some overlap and confusion on the charts. That is no longer the case…”Whataya Want From Me” has made some strong chart moves this past week, and the first single is nearly all but forgotten (at least as far as significant radio play is concerned).
Album Charts:
FMBQ Retail Charts for Pop Album: #9 this week (dropping from #7), but with a 24% increase in sales
Billboard 200 Top Selling Albums: #30 this week (dropping from #22)
Radio Single Charts:
MediaBase, Hot AC Chart: WWFM debuts at #45
Mediabase, Top 40 Chart: WWFM at #44
Mediabase, Canadian Hot AC Chart: WWFM debuts at #48
Nielsen, Top 40 Chart: WWFM had 744 weekly plays, on 51 stations (needs to approach approx. 900-1,000 weekly plays before charting)
Nielsen, Hot AC Chart: WWFM had 190 weekly plays, on 15 stations (needs to approach approx. 300 weekly plays before charting)
Billboard: not charting…yet!
18 New Radio Stations Have Added WWFM (some larger markets, too!):
KDLW - Belen, New Mexico
KDND - Sacramento, California
KHTS - El Cajon, California
KKMG - Pueblo, Colorado
KKOB - Albuquerque, New Mexico
KKRZ - Portland, Oregon
KXXM - San Antonio, Texas
WEZB - New Orleans, Louisiana
WFLY - Troy, New York

WKSE - Niagara Falls, New York
WKSS - Hartford-Meriden, Connecticut
WNTQ - Syracuse, New York
WSTR - Smyrna, Georgia
WYKS - Gainesville, Florida
Dial Global Hot AC Network
Music Choice Pop Hits
The Jingle Ball appearances likely tie in with the New York and Florida radio support…and all of this chart action fits nicely with the decision to have another music video! Yea!

A recent poll on glambs.org revealed the favorite tracks from “For Your Entertainment.” Personally, I prefer “Strut” and “Loaded Smile” over “Soaked,” but hey, nearly 400 unique voters can’t be all wrong!
1. Whataya Want From Me - 39%
2. Soaked - 14%
3. Fever - 13%
4. Broken Open - 10%
5. For Your Entertainment - 7%
Each song on this list is so unique and different, don’t you think? They lead us straight to the next fan project, so you guys have something with which to entertain yourselves (while I’m slaving away over the birthday project…)
Here goes. Since it is the holiday season with more than usual eating/drinking/socializing, and because Adam tends to like spirits in several different forms (Chianti, hot toddies, etc.), our next fan project is going to be fan created drink recipes that go along with each of the five song titles above. If all goes well, we’ll have an official Glamb cocktail menu for future Adam get-togethers. If you are up to the challenge, here are the “rules” for submitting your recipe(s):
1. You may submit up to one recipe per song listed above.
2. Recipes may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic.
3. Recipes should include an ingredient list, plus directions for mixing and serving. (Like a real recipe!)
4. Recipes should be unique, or contain a new twist on a recognized recipe. (Please consider if all ingredients are easily available for purchase - several of us will be making and trying your recipes to do the judging!)
5. All recipes must be submitted with your real first name, forum nickname, Glamb #, and location (city, state, country). Another reason to get a Glamb # if you don’t already have one! See this link for more information and how to apply.
6. Recipes will be judged (blind vote) by the administration team of adam-lambert.org, and one winner for each song title will be chosen based on originality, ability to follow the recipe, song fit, and TASTE!
7. Email one recipe at a time to: FYErecipes@glambs.org Put the song title in the subject line. All recipes are due by January 10th, 2010.
O.K., crank up your CD for each of these songs, see what inspires you, and get your stir sticks ready! Most of all, have fun…but don’t drink and drive.
Dana, Glamb #6
P.S. If you have questions or recipe ideas you are willing to share, post away!
Once again, Adam takes the stage and just blows all the viewers away. I don’t think the sound system completely supported his performance, but it was still just spectacular. Maybe Adam read that we loved the new twists to “Whataya Want From Me,” because he gave a similar performance to the one from Conan.
Now let’s chat about Adam’s costume! The harlequin-esque makeup, suit, and shoes were glam perfection. Freddie Mercury’s take on this theme was a cut-away bare chest in the late 1970’s glam era, but Adam’s interpretation was much more classy and polished. Are there some hidden meanings here? The tear? Afterall, a harlequin never gave a boring, simple performance if something to spice it up could be added. …yeah, that’s Adam! Dana, Glamb #6
Loved (just loved!) the little twists Adam put into the vocals with some extra falsetto, etc. Yes, Adam can really sing his face off! Also LOVED Monte’s glitter guitar! This is the Adam-look I really adore - his hair, makeup, and the studio lighting were perfect. Dana, Glamb #6
I did my Adam good-deeds for the day! Earlier today I went shopping at Barnes & Noble. “For Your Entertainment” was on the New Release rack right near the check-out. The lines were long, so people were checking out the rack more than usual. There were three CD’s left and I stood there for a moment watching what people were looking at. One lady picked up Adam’s CD and I casually said, “I have that one, it is really good.” She said she was thinking about getting it for her friend. Of course, without trying to sound too fan-ish, I told her there wasn’t a bad song on the whole CD and that her friend would probably enjoy it. She bought it! It gets even better…
A young man, maybe in his early thirties, picked up Susan Boyle’s CD and asked me if I had heard it. I replied that it really wasn’t my type of music. He went on to say how his wife was a true music fan and he wanted to get her a CD for Christmas. That was my cue! Long story short…another CD SOLD! One CD left. What had started out as a fluke was now a mission - I was truly determined to sell that last CD!
Well, I stood there as long as I could and didn’t sell that last CD. But I did go to the general music section and plucked two of the five CDs left and moved them to the rack near the checkout line. Afterall, it had been a lucky selling spot.
Now that I’m home, I’ve checked out the radio airplay charts for the week so I could give you guys an update. It is definitely appearing to be a rocky road. My concern is that radio will be needed to further sell Adam’s CD when his televised appearances come to an end.
Neither of the two released singles appear on the Billboard charts for the U.S. Likewise, neither single appears on the MediaBase charts. The only good news I found was the addition of “Whataya Want From Me” to five, Hot AC radio stations:
KCIX - Garden City, Idaho
KVLY - Edinburg, Texas
WCDA - Versailles, Kentucky
WMGX - Portland, Maine
WXLO - Fitchburg, Massachusetts
Sadly, these appear to be small town radio markets.
If you listen to any of these stations or the ones I posted previously in this thread, http://adam-lambert.org/album-and-radio-airplay-chart-updates/, please let us know if there are opportunities to help out. Often, stations host playlist voting opportunities or music “Face Offs” where one song is put up against another for voting.
Also, don’t forget to make a request to OpenHouseParty on Saturday and Sunday nights for “Whataya Want From Me.” Where and how to make a request to OpenHouseParty, as well as how to listen online, is also outlined in the previous post via the same link above.
One last detail… I’m keeping the “Jingle Ball ‘09″ post updated. Pictures and videos have been added for Friday night’s appearance in New York: http://adam-lambert.org/jingle-ball-09/

P.S. Don’t forget to vote at VH1 for Adam’s video, “For Your Entertainment.” You can vote multiple times.

VEVO is launching tonight! What is VEVO? Well, it is a collaboration between Universal Music Group and Google to “take over the world” and be the best service provider of music video and entertainment. Adam is helping…well, sort of. Jingle Ball, Z93 in Tampa on 12/13:
I just don’t get the feeling that “For Your Entertainment” (FYE) as a single was purposefully advertised for radio airplay by Adam’s record management. This is pure speculation on my part, but I think the airplay it did get was happenstance rather than from necessary, planned, and aggressive marketing to a significant number of stations. So, the single charts are a little like a rollercoaster now because FYE is semi-hanging-in- there while “Whataya Want From Me” (WWFM) is simultaneously starting to chart.
First, the news from Billboard for the week through Dec. 12:
- FYE (the album) debuted at #3 on Billboard 200 as a top selling album across all genres
- FYE (the album) debuted at #5 on downloaded Digital Albums across all genres
- FYE (the single) re-entered the Hot 100 Chart at #61
- FYE (the single) ranked #35 on downloaded Digital Songs across all genres
An interesting side note here is that the Hot 100 Chart is a list of most popular songs across all genres ranked by radio airplay audience impressions, sales data, and online streaming activity as measured by Nielsen BDS.
There are no appearances on the MediaBase Top 50 charts for FYE, but the separate Nielsen BDS Top 40 chart shows WWFM as a most added radio track through Dec. 12. The 17 stations that have recently added WWFM are:
CKEY - Niagara Falls, ON Canada
KDWB - Richfield, Minnesota
KFRH - Las Vegas, Nevada
KHKS - Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas
KHTT - Muskogee, Oklahoma
KIIS - San Antonio, Texas
KKPN - Rockport, Texas
KSAS - Caldwell, Idaho
KSPW - Sparta, Missouri
KUDD - Roy, Utah
KZMG - New Plymouth, Idaho
Sirius XM Hits 1
WHBQ - Germantown, Tennessee
WSSX - Charleston, South Carolina
WXKB - Cape Coral, Florida
WXSS - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin
WXXX - South Burlington, Vermont
So the safest bet is to request what you are hearing…and it may be different depending on where you live. However, if none of these stations are in your area, one way you can legitimately help is to request “Whataya Want From Me” at OpenHouseParty which is aired nationally on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Actually, 2009 was the “Year of the Ox”…but move over Chinese zodiac…didn’t you hear that 2009 was the “Year of Adam Lambert?”
Think about where you were, what you were doing, and how you were feeling one year ago today, before the “Year of Adam Lambert?” Without a lot of elaboration (and I know that will be hard!), give your response to this question:
Name 3 ways that Adam Lambert has changed your life this year.
I don’t want to give my answers just yet…but I will once the thread gets going. Have fun!
Let it rip! Remember…1, 2, 3 ways!

***Updated with pics and article by Valerie Scher, SDNN Arts & Entertainment editor*** Adam was in San Diego today to donate his KISS performance costume to the Hard Rock Hotel. He’ll be in good company with the Elvis and Madonna memorabilia that is already there. Carol and Lila, two of our administrators, were thinking about attending…I hope they made it and have a personal scoop with more photos for us later.
I think the glitter boots went with the costume! Dana, Glamb #6

Nothing can keep Adam Lambert down for long. Not the less-than-enthusiastic reactions to his performance on TV’s American Music Awards. And certainly not a bout with a stomach virus.
So there he was on Thursday at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, dedicating his KISS-inspired costume and killer platform boots from “American Idol’s” Season 8 Finale to the hotel’s memorabilia collection that includes items by everyone from Elvis Presley to Madonna. Adam’s costume, complete with wire “wings,” looked as if Elton John had designed it for use at a Star Trek convention.
Though not as outrageously attired, Adam seemed every inch the successful superstar during his Gaslamp appearance. We’re talking glam-rock chic, with artfully tousled black hair, black nail polish and glittery diamond rings designed by Loree Rodkin that were so huge that Liberace would have been envious. And his liberal use of guyliner highlighted those eyes that are so strikingly attractive in person.
“It always feels good to come home,” he said during a question-and-answer session, adding that he’d like to return in spring, as part of a concert tour. “I’ve never been to the Hard Rock Hotel. This area of San Diego has changed so much.”
Introduced by Jennifer White of Radio Sophie, the event attracted about 100 people, including fans and media members. From what I saw and heard, Lambert could hardly have been more gracious. No snarkiness, no attitude.
“I think I’ve talked about it enough, to be honest,” he said when brushing away a question about recent controversies.
This was the kinder, gentler Adam, the Adam who put the “lamb” in Lambert.
Why was he dressed in black?
“I like dark colors - they’re sexier,” he said with a big smile.
Which song did he find most gratifying to perform on his new album, “For Your Entertainment”?
“‘Fever,’” he responded, referring to the catchy, hard-driving number co-written by Lady Gaga. “I have a lot of respect for Lady Gaga. She’s an artist I look up to.”
How does he keep his voice in such good shape?
“Water and sleep,” he told SDNN, adding that he also does voice exercises regularly, if not every day.
Just being close to him was enough to thrill fans.
“I was first in line - I’ve been here since 8 a.m. this morning,” said Maryann Cummings, 25, a Web designer from Clairemont. “Adam is my favorite singer. He’s just a fantastic talent. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s from San Diego.”
To Saara Tenhola, an Encinitas-based exchange student from Finland, the event was an introduction to glamorous showbiz.
“I’ve never been to this kind of thing before,” said Tenhola, 17. “Adam is so cool.”
Very cool indeed.

I love a good review - thank you Todd Fletcher, AC Associated Content, Arts & Entertainment columnist! The comparison of For Your Entertainment to Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill “solid” debut album from 1995 is spot on. Go Adam! Dana, Glamb #6
Debut Album For Your Entertainment Shines
Adam Lambert’s album, For Your Entertainment , has been the most anticipated debut in quite some time. Lambert won the hearts of his fans known as Glamberts when he came in second place on the hit TV series American Idol. Music critics across the USA saw how madly talented this San Diego native is. He has garnered more press than any other Idol so far, and it has nothing to do with his sexuality or his black eye liner. The 27 year old, musical theater veteran can sing any type of music thrown at him.
The main question while watching his rise to the top was if he could actually pull it off once an album of his own music was released. This means not singing covers, such as his haunting but much adored cover of Tears For Fears’ Mad World. Not only does FYE live up to its hype, it obliterates any pondering idea that he was just another of American Idol’s many “here today gone tomorrow” contestants. The finished product is the most solid debut album since Alanis Morissette unleashed Jagged Little Pill in 1995. Pill sold over 15 million copies in the United States alone and earned four Grammys.
FYE is not just your average run of the mill pop-rock mesh up. RCA Records commissioned songs from the hottest acts in music today including Pink (Whataya Want From Me), Lady Gaga (Fever), Weezer’s River Cuomo (Pick U Up), One Republic’s Ryan Tedder (Sleepwalker), and Muses’ Matthew Bellamy (Soaked). Lambert will draw comparisons to rockers Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, but that is not completely fair. The vocal acrobatics conquered on the record prove that Lambert is the most uniquely gifted vocalist of his generation. He stands out all on his own accolades. As Michael Jackson was the King Of Pop, Lambert is the new King Of Rock.

Well, WE all know he is fascinating (and about a 1,000 other adjectives)…but somehow when Barbara Walters says it, it has more clout! Walters says she chose Adam because he was a “prominent name” in the entertainment industry, and he is “rather fond of the shock factor” when he performs. Uh….yeah! The Barbara Walters Special airs December 9th on ABC. (Don’t worry ABC, Adam’s not performing, and I doubt he is going to grab Barbara for a lip-lock!) Dana, Glamb #6

ARTICLE:
As the year comes to a close, Barbara Walters has selected her choices for her “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009.”
And politician Sarah Palin, songstress Lady GaGa, and newcomer Adam Lambert have all made the cut for this year’s show.
According to Walters, GaGa and Lambert were chosen because they’re two of the most prominent names in entertainment- and they’re both rather fond of the shock factor when they perform.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Palin has made quite a name for herself over the past year with her political career as well as becoming a bestselling author. The Barbara Walters special airs December 9th at 10pm EST on ABC.

It’s late at night and I can’t sleep. So, I wanted to share some photos of enthusiastic Glamb fans from around the world, and update a few miscellaneous items.
First up is Lisa, Glamb #485 from GlambsFlorida, receiving her “For Your Entertainment” CD. With this loaded smile, I think it made her want to listen to music again!

I’ve had this vision of Adam-fans all around the world opening their CDs, giving them something to shout about.
Second is Ellen, Janet, and Sue from GlambsIllinois on their outing to see the movie 2012 a few days ago. Rumor had it that Adam’s voice in the theater made them wanna scream out and need a second to breathe, but they contained themselves, and went to lunch in the aftermath.

Finally, a few new groups want to start a revolution in their area. Introducing:
GlambsColorado - Led by La Fronne, Glamb #551
GlambsNewHampshire - Led by Deb, Glamb #39
GlambsOregon - Led by Vicki, Glamb #555
Or, let it all hang out with another group in your area. Take a trip and fall into the glitter here. Just keep coming around, we’re here for your entertainment!
Now I’m not asleep, but I’m not awake…time to turn out the lights anyway. Maybe I’ll be a sleepwalker. Can you tell Adam is on continuous play at my house?
Dana, Glamb #6

Not that Adam Lambert wouldn’t have done well with his album sales anyway…but controversy sells. Always has, always will. :) Dana, Glamb #6
As evidenced by Miley Cyrus just a few months ago, a little controversy rarely hurts in the sales department. Adam Lambert is on track to beat retail expectations for his RCA release, “For Your Entertainment,” according to early returns compiled by keeper-of-the-charts Billboard Magazine.
The artist appeared on the “The Early Show” this morning on CBS, noting that some of his more aggressive moves on his American Music Awards appearance weren’t all rehearsed. “The song lyrically is sexual, and I was just performing the lyrics of my song,” Lambert said. “I think in the future I will probably make a little bit more of an effort to stay consistent with what I do during rehearsal to what I do during the show. That’s something I’m learning now, and that way if anyone has a problem with what I’m doing, it can be explored during rehearsal.”
But all the chatter and debate isn’t stopping people from picking up his first post-”American Idol” release. Billboard writes that “For Your Entertainment” should sell at least 225,000 copies when it debuts on next week’s chart, and could possibly move more with post-Thanksgiving shoppers invading retailers. Lambert’s promo tour continues tonight with an appearance on the “Late Show With David Letterman.”
Lambert’s sales will be right in line with many a recent “Idol,” and will far surpass those of Kris Allen. The latter, who actually won this season’s “Idol,” landed at No. 11 on this week’s chart, selling only 80,000 copies of his self-titled debut, according to Nielsen SoundScan, during the holiday sales season, when numbers are typically inflated.
Perhaps Allen should scruff up his puppy-dog image. Earlier this year, teen sensation Cyrus was under attack for briefly dancing on a stripper pole during Nickelodeon’s Teen Choice Awards. Yet, ultimately, the appearance bolstered Cyrus’ star power, as her “Party in the U.S.A.” remains in the top 10 of the U.S. pop chart. And her “The Time of Our Lives” EP has sold 780,000 copies in just 13 weeks.
Lambert’s debut week numbers should be somewhere near those for “Idol” winner David Cook, whose self-titled effort last year sold 280,000 copies in the first week. And around the same time, the self-titled effort by last year’s “Idol” runner-up, David Archuleta, sold 180,000 copies in its first week.

Nice to know it wasn’t aimed at any of us! It sounds like Adam has sort of “had it” with all the criticism. Even more reason for his fans to support him now. Watch Adam talk about the flip off, the trip up, and more! ~Dana, Glamb #6

Adam Lambert has spoken publicly several times about his controversial performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday. It was a performance that had him singing his single, “For Your Entertainment,” while dancing provocatively, falling, kissing a male bandmate and (in a move missed by many) extending his middle finger.
“We were having a good time,” he told MTV News on Tuesday (November 24) about the performance, adding that as soon as he gave the finger he knew he had taken things to another level.
“Literally, as I did it, I went, ‘Oh god, what am I doing?’ ” he explained. “I was out of body. You know, the finger was to the people that have been criticizing me. The finger was to the people who doubt me. The finger was to the people that were about to censor me. The finger was not to fans or people who support me at all, by any means.
“The finger was to ‘Out’ magazine’s editor who wailed into me, people like that,” he continued. “It wasn’t premeditated; it just kind of happened. In the end … it was to prove freedom of expression and to prove I am in control of my situation. I am an artist and I’m here to express myself. My intention wasn’t to upset people.”
As for his now-infamous kiss with keyboardist Tommy Ratliff, he said that in rehearsal he had only pulled his hair. So Ratliff was expecting something — but not a big, very public kiss.
“He did not know! No — during rehearsal I grabbed him by the hair and kind of just looked at him,” Lambert said. “He’s straight, but not married. He’s single. I guess he didn’t mind getting kissed in the name of entertainment.”

We already knew that! However, it is so nice to read when others recognize this as well. Read the glowing review by Life & Style Editor, Elena Gorgan. Even the “imperfections” she mentions about the album are what make it unique and that much better. Dana, Glamb #6
Adam Lambert ‘For Your Entertainment’ Album Review
Well accomplished, versatile and intoxicating glam rock debut
It’s extremely hard and close to unfathomable to speak of a music album as of an “instant classic” when it’s not even out in stores, yet this is precisely what’s happening with Adam Lambert’s debut material “For Your Entertainment.” Due out on November 23, Lambert’s first studio album is a wonderful collection of intoxicating tracks oscillating from insane electropop / disco / rock to powerful, emotion-laden ballads hailing the arrival of the next glam rock idol.
Very high hopes were pinned on Lambert and this was even before he finished off last season of American Idol – and surprisingly came out in second place – which also means that a lot of pressure was put on him to deliver a debut album that would break the mold. In this respect, he more than delivers, with this piece that is mainstream pop yet not, by being so uniquely overboard and beautifully eccentric. Critics agree Lambert has literally taken a page out of music history with “FYE,” a very versatile album that swerves from one sound to another with ease from track to track, taking the listener into that glitzy world where Glambert, the unleashed diva, reigns supreme.
For starters, suffice to say that all comparisons between Adam Lambert and Freddie Mercury are not without merit, since only he could mix such apparently campy sound with true quality without losing anything of either. Lambert is not afraid to go from one extreme to another, as neither is he shy to showcase his effortless falsetto voice and how wonderfully it goes with undulations marked by heavy guitar riffs or, on the contrary, heavily synthesized and overproduced beats. Another thing that Adam is extremely comfortable with on “FYE” is emotion in its purest and most touching form (“Soaked,” “Broken Open”) or its remarkable absence, where the void is filled by fun and nothing more (“Music Again,” “For Your Entertainment” and “Sure Fire Winners”).
Architecturally very complex and multi-layered, “FYE” opens strongly with “Music Again,” a radio and club anthem if we ever saw one, with distinct Queen and Mika accents here and there. “For Your Entertainment” follows promptly on the same note, only to have Adam settle down a bit in “Whataya Want from Me.” The pace picks up again with the extremely campy “Strut,” but the rhythm breaks again with the heart-wrenching “Soaked,” a ballad where Lambert’s voice soars and falls down to a whisper as if in a beat of the heart.
“FYE” continues on the same tone with ballads interspersed among very up-tempo tracks, marking breathers for listeners who would otherwise run the risk of ending up with a serious case of head rush. That much diversity and distinct sounds, like an explosion, as well as different topics can, at times, work against the album in that it becomes intoxicating, as some critics also point out. This doesn’t happen necessarily because Lambert is trying too hard to prove himself, but rather because of the many producers whom he co-opted to work with and who have each come with their distinctive elements.
The result can be compared to breathing in a very strong fragrance, like when standing for far too long in a room filled with vases with imperial lilies. One inevitably gets a dizzy spell – which is perhaps why Adam has chosen as closer the moving “Broken Open” and, as a bonus, the “2012” track “Time for Miracles,” yet another superbly crafted ballad. The final paradox is that, once the dizzy spell is gone, one inevitably wants to relive the album experience over and over again. If this is what one could describe a classic by, together with the richness of sounds, styles and the unmistakable display of utmost talent, then “For Your Entertainment” is a classic by all means.
The Good
Given the hype that Adam Lambert has been getting ever since before the American Idol finale, it’s wonderful to see that “For Your Entertainment,” his debut album, more than delivers. Comfortable with anything eccentric to borderline insane, this “true American Idol,” as some critics dare call him, proves that pop and mainstream music doesn’t necessarily have to mean overproduced, unnecessary and mediocre – and definitely not when Lambert’s fearlessness and talent come into play.
The Bad
Critics lament that Adam Lambert was not allowed to showcase his amazing personality and style on “For Your Entertainment” because of the many collaborators he had to work with for it. This, in turn, leads to a certain sense of being overwhelmed halfway through the album, with the possibility of the listener finding it too much, the explosion of energy and sound too strong to handle. Still, it’s these “imperfections” that make “FYE” that much better and “real,” critics agree.
The Truth
In very few words, Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” is a must listen, even for those who do not find glam rock / electropop to their liking, just to be able, 10 or so years from now on, to say “I witnessed that historical moment in music when mainstream became something else.” Complex in sound and even more so in structure, Adam Lambert’s impressive vocals are the threads that hold “FYE” together in one astonishing piece.

In years past, the cool songs were introduced to radio first. Stations and DJs would build the hype for the latest songs because they had discovered them first. When new songs were finally released for public purchase, everybody wanted their own copy on vinyl or 8 track tape. No live streaming, no mp3 downloads, no iTunes, no piracy…remember the “good ol’ days?” And the music artist truly benefited from the exposure that radio gave them.
In present times however, techonology rules. Whether legal or leaked, availability via the Internet is almost instantaneous. Radio has truly become the flea on the tip of the dog’s tail. Music followers have already heard the music, have purchased it (usually more than once), and don’t need the opinion of a radio station or DJ to know what they like to hear. Some have even said that radio has turned into a new form of piracy because, at least in the U.S., music artists are not paid for the spins of their music on radio airwaves.
Unfortunately, this shift in power from radio-humans to the world wide web, and the subsequent consolidation of music media companies still grappling for what’s left of the market share, has left us with a few myths about radio airplay:
Myth No. 1: DJs decide what is played on their station. Only in very rare cases of non-commercial or specialty radio do DJs decide what is played. The decision about what is played on commercial radio is made at the top of the management chain.
Myth No. 2: A great song will spread like wildfire to more stations. Nope. Behind the scenes, record company big bucks drive the marketing and promotion of a song. The songs you actually get to hear on the radio are the ones that beat out the other music artist’s marketing that week.
Myth No. 3: Request calls to the radio station will help. Not really…or maybe minimally. And stations know which calls are real and from their local listeners. “DJ’s can tell when a band’s supporters are overloading them with requests and this will not win friends or more airplay. Most stations will play music based on merit and not on requests.”
So why do I give a flip if Adam’s singles are played on the radio? Why do I even spend time requesting or listening to stations to check if his songs are being played? I don’t usually even listen to the radio!
This is possibly a complicated question, but underlying the whole analysis there is something about radio airplay that still signals ”success” for the music artist…and everyone wants this for Adam. The reality is that we just don’t have nearly the control we think we have as fans.
O.K., so how is Adam doing on radio?
Thought you would never ask!
Things actually took a positive turn this past week. Data from the week of 11/13 was dismal. It didn’t appear that any stations had added “For Your Entertainment” or “Whataya Want From Me,” there was no new information on number of spins, and neither released single appeared on any of the “top” lists. But this week, “For Your Entertainment” is appearing as a Hot, New Adult Contemporary single on the Nielsen charts with: Total Plays: 224, Total Stations: 21, Total Adds: 1. Additionally, “For Your Entertainment” debuted on the MediaBase Hot Adult Contemporary chart at number 48 with 193 spins. Finally, “For Your Entertainment” debuted at number 84 on Billboard (see Adam on Billboard Chart here: http://www.billboard.com/charts#/charts/hot-100?begin=81&order=position) (Note that different radio stations across the country report in to various charting companies for monitoring…and there is likely overlapping and/or missing data here.)
I’m guessing that the American Music Award performance on Sunday night will make these charts explode next week!

Don’t they all look fabulous and fierce? Lisa on keyboards, Monte on guitar, Tommy on bass, and Longineu on drums… Longineu was the drummer for a band called Yellowcard, and I thought that I read one of them had worked with Madonna previously…
Adam tweeted this pic a few days ago and I was just struck by how they all seem to gel with each other already. Picking a band is tough work. They must immediately click, and will be family to each other on tour. I’m wondering if any of them have songwriting credit, and if Adam will collaborate and write with his own band members in the future. I really hope they get to appear with him on the AMA’s…along with all the dancers, of course!
What do you think of this eccentric collection? I think they seem to orbit around Adam quite well.

These ladies just ROCK! Jane, Glamb #20, and Jamie, Glamb #472, are co-moderators of GlambsON. They organized a 2012 event for their members in Ontario, Canada…and I wish I could have been there. Look at that cake!! Here is Jane’s review of the event, and a few pics to enjoy. They had so much fun that Jane will be hosting another party at her condo on AMA night! Dana, Glamb #6
The first event for the Glambs ONTARIO Canada group took place on Friday night (11/13) – dinner at a popular restaurant in the West end of Toronto followed by the 2012 movie. What a fabulous night it was! There were 10 of us altogether – some were friends from high school (Jamie, Katie and Alyssa); some had previously met (Nicole and her aunt Denise) at Adam’s Hamilton concert in May; some were Glambs whose names were familiar from the forum or chat room (Vera (Gala), Marie/Toronto, Jane416); others still had been invited from other fan sites (Gloria and Silvana) and decided to give our group a try.
Right from the very beginning there was this electric energy in the air – magic happens when ADAM is the one bringing people together!! Everyone came wearing a bit (or a lot) of Adam. There were many one-of-a-kind T-shirts, Eye of Horus and other Adam jewellery, a FABULOUS Adam cape a la Katy Perry, glittery eye make-up galore, and even an Adam Lambert purse! There was an Adam trivia game with GREAT prizes to be won for those who knew Adam best – and do we ever! There was a 3-way tie which was finally broken by Nicole who also happened to be our birthday girl. She was soon surprised with an AMAZING cake with icing that featured both For Your Entertainment covers! Special thanks to Jamie for all her hard work on making glittery nametags and Adam picture place cards for everyone and for creating and moderating the quiz.
Although the movie had awesome special effects, some found it rather formulistic and long at about 2 ½ hours. However, all agreed that it was a lot of fun singing “Time For Miracles” along with Adam and taking pictures of the movie screen when his song credit finally came up!!! I have been scouring the Internet looking for hints and bits of information about Adam’s tour. He has to have one, right?? This article by LA Music Examiner, Belinda Thomas, is a first snippet of upcoming tour collaborations. First impressions: Adam is continuing to find the best people with which to work. Enjoy… Dana, Glamb #6
Adam Lambert is set to work with director/choreographer Jamie King. King along with associate director Stefanie Roos will direct Lambert’s upcoming performances, appearances and upcoming tour. I just loved this phrase written by Adam Graham, Detroit News Pop Music Writer, so I made it the title of this blog post. It is so true! I appreciated reading Graham’s fair and balanced assessment of Adam’s upcoming album, and thought you might enjoy it too. Dana, Glamb #6
What, you expected subtlety?
Adam Lambert’s “For Your Entertainment” is every bit the boffo, glam-rock, disco-pop space oddity you’d expect from the “American Idol” standout. It’s a bold, assured, boot-stomping romp, and it’s so over-the-top it should come packaged in a mirror ball.
For his fans, this won’t come as a surprise. Lambert hit the “American Idol” stage earlier this year like a transplant from the planet Glampire: David Bowie funneled through Edward Cullen. Over the course of the show, he proved to be the most exciting “Idol” contestant in years, with a fearlessness stemming from years of stage experience and a shocking caterwaul that could strip the paint off walls.
He also demonstrated his dexterity across a number of genres, whether vamping through Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” or quietly emoting in a beautiful rendition of Smokey Robinson’s “The Tracks of My Tears.” In what may have been his signature performance, he gave a psycho-sexual, Middle Eastern-influenced reading of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” that would have had the Man in Black either rolling in his grave or rolling with laughter.
He brings that same go-for-broke spirit to “For Your Entertainment,” which despite sharing a name with a national chain of record stores, proves to be an apropos summation of Lambert’s M.O. “Let me entertain you ’til you scraaaaay-eeeee-aaaaaaayyy-eeeeeee-aaaYYYYYYY-eeeeeee-AAAYYYYMM!” he bellows on the title track, somehow cramming every musical note into one banshee wail.
If the goal is to entertain, he succeeds, as there’s rarely a dull moment on “FYE.” Some moments are less effective than others — “Aftermath” is the kind of “keep pushing on” claptrap every “Idol” album seems to be saddled with, and the album is frontloaded with one too many Gary Glitter clones — but no one can accuse Lambert of holding back.
Credit Team Lambert for pairing him with a host of top-notch, like-minded collaborators, from Lady Gaga (who wrote the daring “Fever”) and Pink (who lent a hand to “Whataya Want from Me”) to the Darkness’ Justin Hawkins (whose proficiency for arena rock cheese is slathered over opener “Music Again”) and interstellar English rockers Muse (lead singer Matthew Bellamy wrote “Soaked”).
A-list hitmakers Dr. Luke (the pulsating title track), Linda Perry (the moody, spacey “A Loaded Smile”) and Max Martin (potential single “If I Had You”) weigh in, as well. And Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo proves an unlikely partner-in-crime on the joyful “Pick U Up,” a bouncy club-rocker with walls of trickling synths laid underneath the fist-pumping chorus.
Lambert is a pot-stirrer — the fetching spaceboy album cover is evidence of that — and the album has an in-your-face, unapologetic sexuality. Plenty can be read into lines such as “Open your mouth and open it wide: Let the freedom begin” (”Strut”). “Fever,” meanwhile, opens with, “there he goes, my baby walks so slow, sexual tic-tac-toe,” which is bound to raise an eyebrow or two from “Idol’s” more conservative fan base.
Lambert’s greatest asset is, of course, his crazy vocal range, which can soar to dizzying heights but easily lends itself to overkill.
On the album, he displays control over his voice that he didn’t on “Idol,” and he doesn’t over-rely on histrionics. He stays reigned in at times (such as on the electronic outer space ballad “Broken Open”) and lets it go when need be.
“FYE” also sparkles with a welcome sense of humor: “My baby clothes made of leather and lace,” Lambert sings amid the wild rumpus of “Sure Fire Winners,” the best and most unhinged of the album’s T. Rex-style glam throwdowns. And he lets out a gleeful laugh at the close of “Pick U Up,” a refreshing reminder that yes, this is all meant to be fun.
It goes without saying that “For Your Entertainment” is the most poised debut from any “Idol” to date. Lambert has a vision and has successfully honed a sound that pays homage to his heroes while carving a niche for himself.
More than anything, “For Your Entertainment” bares the stamp of a born entertainer. So sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

I’ve never thought much about Amanda Peet as an actress or person…but she got my attention when she was asked about Adam Lambert and she shyly whispered, “I Love Him!” She is one of us, and doesn’t even know it! John Cusack, on the other hand, was admittedly clueless.
I thought Amanda’s reaction was very cute. She was obviously the one starstruck with Adam.

Tuesday night, at the Los Angeles red-carpet premiere for “2012″ — that most disastrous of all disaster movies — Adam Lambert told reporters that he feels honored to have contributed “Time for Miracles” to the film’s soundtrack. So how do the film’s stars feel about it?
“I love him,” Amanda Peet told MTV News of the “American Idol” runner-up. “I love him. I love him.”
John Cusack, meanwhile, was less honored than amusingly confused when asked about the man known as Glambert. “I have no clue,” he confessed. “No, I’ve seen ‘American Idol.’ They have the guy, Dr. Sanjay Gupta. He was on that, right? Anderson Cooper won a few times.”
Well played, Cusack! Peet wasn’t able to play it nearly as cool the one and only time she had the opportunity to meet Lambert, at the “2012″ premiere. “I said ‘Hi,’ but by the time I said ‘Hi,’ he was already walking past, and I was walking this way, and it was too late to accost him because he had already gone by,” the actress laughed. “Which is probably a good thing.”
Like Cusack, director Roland Emmerich had never heard of Lambert before his involvement with “2012.” Emmerich was busy filming during the past “Idol” season, and he never watches TV anyway. But he liked the song, and a Sony exec showed him some YouTube videos of Lambert, suggesting he’d be a good fit to sing it.
“I said, ‘Oh, my God, what an incredible voice,’ ” the director told MTV News.
So, Lambert recorded “Miracles,” which became his post-”Idol” debut as well as a bonus track on his major-label debut, For Your Entertainment, which hits on November 23, 10 days after the release of “2012.”
Peet can’t wait to hear the tracks. “I’m excited,” she said with a grin.

Just a reminder that our Glambs “Come & Go” Twitter Party is still scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2nd from 4:00-9:00 P.M. CST. (Hopefully, you can do your own timezone calculations from that, or use this Google clock link and type in “time Houston” to see what the CST currently is.) We will still be trending #4yourentertainment. Put one or two references to it in each tweet you make to help make it popular on Twitter. Too many references to the trending topic in one tweet is counted as spam.
(Note the slight change in trending reference from “for” to “4.” There is speculation on Twitter that the longer version may be 1 or 2 characters too long for Twitter to recognize, although I can’t find that documented anywhere obvious on Twitter. Better safe than sorry, so “4″ it is!)
Our previous thread on this topic can be used to find and follow other Glamb member Twitter accounts. Post your Twitter account name here if you didn’t leave it in the other thread. You have to follow others to read and see the tweets. Otherwise, it will feel like you are alone at your own private party! Please follow my Twitter account at GlambsFansite. I’ll definitely be there Monday evening trying to keep the conversations going!
(Not to be confused with our effort…Some members from AdamOfficial will be trying to trend #4yourentertainment on Sunday evening at 8:00 P.M. EST. I was asked by their members on Twitter for help if any Glambs are available this evening. This falls under the category: Any fan effort for Adam is O.K. by me! But let them know you are a proud Glamb!)
In other news, our two newest area Glamb groups are:
Tennessee - Led by Dana, Glamb #434
Washington - Led by Alexis, Glamb #507
Join them if you are in the area, find a different group in your area here, or inquire about starting a new group in your area by emailing me at webmistress@glambs.org.
Also, there is a new poll posted on glambs.org, and a link to some cool Adam wallpapers here.
Hope to “see” you Monday afternoon/evening at the Twitter Party!

***Updated with a few more of my favorite Glampire pics!***
I think OhFerras, Katy P., AND a few other people need to check their necks this morning! I’ll try to keep this post updated with other photos that emerge in daylight hours. Dana, Glamb #6

It has been said that the “beautiful people” of the world (those people that most everyone can agree have stunning facial features), are the same people that also have very symmetrical faces. So perfect are the lines that one half of the face is a mirrror image of the other half.
I’ve often thought this to be true of Adam. From forehead, to eyes, to nose, to jaw and chin — almost identical from one side to the other. Then comes the album cover. Almost everyone can see the male and female, or the yin and yang, within the same picture. And yet somehow, it looks like Adam, but then again, it doesn’t.
These are the two halves, merged together with themselves to make two different faces. Quite interesting, don’t you think? The thinner face with the hand is more feminine, the wider face with the stronger jawline is more masculine.

My hypothesis is that if we found another straight on shot of Adam, and did the same experiment, the results would be two pictures that look more like the second picture. What do you think?
Thanks to ChzR for posting the original links on this site!
And thanks Adam, for letting us play with your face. Afterall, you are here for our entertainment!

***UPDATE #3*** We don’t want to miss out on the initial excitement of the release…so…we are going to have TWO Twitter Parties. The first will be today, Friday, Oct. 30th from 4-9 P.M. CST and the second Twitter Party will remain on Monday as originally planned. I don’t know when I’ll be more excited, today after the first few listens of “For Your Entertainment,” or after I’ve listened a 1000 times by Monday. Join us once, or twice!! We’ll be trying to trend #foryourentertainment. I think Adam would approve of two parties, don’t you??
***UPDATE #2*** Official “Come and Go” Glambs Twitter Party will be Monday, Nov. 2nd from 4-9 P.M. CST! We will be trending the title of the single. Join us! ***UPDATED*** There are fast and flying Twitter/Internet rumors (?) that Adam’s single will be “What Do You Want From Me?” Of course, Twitter is already abuzz. We are going to wait for more confirmation and/or an official release before having our Twitter Party. Stay tuned to this thread for updates!! ***
The local Glamb groups (we now have 17 of them!) are planning a “Come and Go Twitter Party” on the day Adam’s single is released this week. The trend topic will be #nameofthesingle, where “nameofthesingle” equals the title of the single that is released, no spaces between the words. (The anticipation about what day and the actual title is truly killing me…)
If you have a Twitter account, join us from 4:00 P.M. CST through 9:00 P.M. CST. Be sure to identify yourself as a “Glamb” from time to time so we can all recognize each other. I’ll be there as “GlambsFansite.” Feel free to leave your Twitter name here so we can attempt to follow each other between now and then.
If you don’t have a Twitter account, now is the time to get one! It really isn’t difficult.
And introducing the latest local Glamb group….Tennessee! Led by (another) Dana, Glamb #434. Join them here. Other area groups are listed here. If you would like to start a new group in your area, let me know at webmistress@glambs.org. Many states and countries are still unspoken for.
Last but not least, the latest poll is up on the glambs homepage. You can watch the “Time for Miracles” video (again!) while you vote.

It seems that those who are privy enough to get a listening session of Adam’s new tracks are simply blown away. If you can make it through all of the colorful adjectives and adverbs in this write-up, you may have a mind-blowing experience yourself! Actually, I’m quite happy that Lyndsey Parker of Reality Rocks Yahoo Music Blog is so unabashedly impressed. But where is the listening session for a Glamb? Sniff, sniff…

Preview Alert!: Reality Rocks’ Adam Lambert Listening Session
Okay, dear readers, please excuse any typos in the following blog entry. I am to be excused, since my brain is so boggled after getting to visit the 19 Entertainment offices and privately preview three Adam Lambert songs from his upcoming superglamtastic and very aptly titled debut album, For Your Entertainment (out November 23). My black-fingernailed fingers are quivering in almost too palsy-stricken a manner to type, but at the same time I am too excited about the audio glitterbombs that have been blasted directly into my unsuspecting ear canals to wait until I’m fully coherent to share my giddy thoughts. I’d be waiting a good long while, really.
Yes, the music was THAT good, people. It was EXACTLY the extraterrestrial electro-opus I hoped and dreamed it would be. You know how the Glamerican Idol recently told Entertainment Weekly that his album would sound “as if a ’70s time-capsule blasted off into space and you’re watching it through a holographic filter”? Well, yeah, that sums it up pretty awesomely; I honestly don’t know if I can actually top such brilliant wordage. Perhaps Adam should just have my job…if he weren’t so busy reinventing the pop wheel, being fabulous, making plans for world domination, daring to dance in the path of greatness, etc.
Now, I know some fans (including myself, to some degree) were thrown a curveball by “Time For Miracles,” Adam’s classic-rock-leaning, Aerosmithian 2012 power-ballad that didn’t seem all that spacey or holographic, to be honest. Certainly that song especially appealed to Adam fans partial to his Idol performances of hoary perennials like Zep’s “Whole Lotta Love,” U2’s “One,” Aerosmith’s “Cryin’,” and Steppenwolf’s “Born To Be Wild,” but it was hardly the “rock-pop-electronic-dance thing” Adam once titillatingly promised.
However, Adam Lambert is a complex man with a multiple musical personality, and so I can tell you all, based on the three tracks I heard, For Your Entertainment sounds NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, like “Time For Miracles.” These freaky-deaky songs, in all their wondrously neon-lit, mirror-balled, future-shocked, robot-rockin’ glory, almost don’t even sound like they were recorded by the same artist, the same human being…except for the fact that that voice is unmistakable, of course.
The time for miracles really has arrived now, in the fierce form of these sneak-previewed tracks:
“Entertainment” - The default title track and statement of intent, masterminded by Dr. Luke (Katy Perry) and Claude Kelly (Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson), Adam opens this one up, Rocky Horror-meets-Robbie Williams-style, with the audacious declaration: “I’m here for your entertainment!” And he ain’t kidding. This is an ultra-caffeinated party-starter (imagine if Mika, Sam Sparro, and Kevin Rudolf had a threesome that resulted in the conception of a glittery alien baby…if you dare), and it’s just begging to be remixed by everyone from Calvin Harris to the Neptunes to Justice–even though it sounds like a shiz-hawt remix already, as is.
“Winners” - A slinky, sexy, salacious dance-rock grinder with a keening, near-orgasmic vocal reminiscent of Adam’s watershed “Ring Of Fire” performance, this Rob Cavallo-produced cut cracks open in the middle like a giant whitechocolatespaceegg to reveal a colossal, fist-pumping, Gary-Glittery chantalong chorus that seems lifted straight out of “We Will Rock You 2: Electric Boogaloo.” So my guess is Queen’s Brian May will be impressed by this massive masterwork, too. A winner, indeed.
“Music Again” - Okay, this is the song, also produced by Rob Cavallo, largely responsible for my current lack of coherence or composure. The minute this glammy tour de force forced its way out of the 19 Entertainment office’s speakers, it was so white-hot I was instantly reduced to a puddle of melted spandex and runny eyeliner. A falsetto gang chorus like something off a lost Sweet outtakes album, squalling guitar riffs, pumping “Funkytown” beats…my head was pretty much exploding at this point, but I managed to hold my cranium together long enough to turn to a nearby 19 employee and jokingly state, “This sounds like the Darkness, if the Darkness were remixed.” To which the employee answered, “That’s funny you say that, because this song was actually written by [legendarily unitarded Darkness frontman] Justin Hawkins, and that’s Justin on guitar.”
Please read that above sentence again closely, people, and allow the full weight of its awesomeness to sink in. Adam Lambert + Justin Hawkins. ADAM LAMBERT + JUSTIN HAWKINS! Best. Collabo. Ever. Two of the most righteously rockin’ and elastically vocal-corded rock gawds of the past 10 years, two of this decade’s lone keepers of the glam-rock flame, together at last. As a diehard Darkness fan, I still believe in a thing called love…and I loved this song so much that at this point in the listening session, what was left of my poor throbbing head exploded, and shards of my caved-in skull went flying in all directions across the 19 office like the debris from a busted piñata. I apologize to the 19 office’s evening cleaning crew in advance. But hey, I could not help it. Let me state this again, just to be clear: Adam Lambert + Justin Hawkins. Such a skull-shatteringly awesome duet even deserves a new name-smash: Hawkbert. Or maybe Lamkins. Yesssssss.
Wham, bam, thank you Madam, for the glam. I can’t wait to hear (and write about) more, if my head can take it…
