From redblack2 on LiveJournal:
The eighth season of American Idol was labeled by many as a war between conservative America and liberal America. On one end, Kris Allen, the good, modest Christian guy with a pleasant voice. On the other end, Adam Lambert, the charismatic, wild, theatrical guy with the huge voice and ambiguous sexual identity. Although Adam came out officially only after the show had ended, backstage his sexual orientation was out in the open. The black nail polish, the stylish outfits and the makeup that were all part of his performances on the show, left little room for doubt- the guy was not straight. Pictures of him kissing guys that were revealed during the show, did not aid the concealment of his secret from America, but did contribute, however, to the surging buzz around him. The liberal media compared Adam to Barack Obama, and hoped that the unusual contender, like the first black president, would manage to win the American conservativeness against all odds. Throughout the duration of the show, Adam kept mum about his sexual orientation. On the night of the finale, the judges urged the audience profusely to vote for the singer with the superior vocal ability. In other words, to vote for Adam Lambert.

About Carol

I started writing on this site back in May 2009, not knowing what I was in for or where it would take me. I had no idea of the joy and personal satisfaction I'd find here. I never dreamed that I'd get to meet Adam, but that dream came true! The bonus of becoming such great friends with Lila and the other fans is what keeps me going. Music gets me though every day. In addition to Adam, I love Muse, Linkin Park, 80s and finding newer bands and supporting them by attending everything that's within 350 miles. With Adam, the boundaries are farther! Thanks for joining us on this ride! :)

  2. Adam is always No.1 outside America but mostly No.2 on home turf. The Grammy should set this straight once and for all .

  3. Hey, that’s where I’m from! 😀

  4. THE USA RIGHT NOW IS SOOOOO FILLED WITH THE CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT IN ALL ISSUES….FROM POLITICS TO ENTERTAINMENT…..THAT IT IS DIFFICULT FOR ADAM….SUCH A SHAME…HE IS TOTALLY A SUPERSTAR

  5. USA is a f**cking country that is full of dumbs seriously they don’t need someone that he’s smart like ADAM they use stupid people like them.Honestly they won’t a person who express himself from a music, art …The point of what they want is to control those people by their stupid process .As far as i can see if you do not prove who you by yourself and to accept other peoples control you’re finished.ADAM do what you love not what they want you to do for them , we’re not a SLAVES…

  6. ADAM is a LEGEND.

  7. Hi this is Rita, Right on with you girls, Adam deserves all the awards he can get!!!!!!! But what’s wrong with his American awards, I think he should have several there too!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Love 4-ever, Rita & Donna

  8. Great news. They really love him overseas. I hope someone is keeping these articles and magazines for Adam. Maybe his mom…..

  9. NinaLatinaGlam says:

OMG…I’ve been in Adam withdrawals…so glad to get something about our amazing gem!!! LOVE ADAM!!!

  10. Hope Adam wins the Grammy nomination like a birthday present for his 29th birthday on January 29,2011. I’m so glad that Adam is having a respite from his fame and worldly acclaim, by just living a normal life now. I’m glad to hear that he could be back with Drake Labry. Somebody should keep him steady, grounded and loved as well, like a partner in life, like a family. Awards could only be truly meaningful when you have somebody to share it with personally and privately.

Hope to welcome a reinvigorated, refreshed. rested and renewed Adam.
