Adam Lambert: The Legend Begins as the Glam Nation Tour Ends

While basking in the glow of Adam Lambert’s Grammy nomination, I found this magnificent article on Adam, via a tweet from my good friend Glenda. It’s by Kerry Kolsch of associated content who has written many times about Adam. We love reading from others who feel the same way we do about Adam and his journey, although you may need some marbles to clear all the syllables out of your mouth – hee hee! I’ll provide the start of the article and the link for you to continue. Be sure and hit the arrow at the bottom of the page because it goes on for 2 more pages.
Enjoy the read!

There is an Irresistible Compulsion to Brag About Witnessing History in the Making

In years to come many will boast about having attended one or as many as they possibly could of Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation concerts. There is an irresistible compulsion to brag about witnessing history in the making. Prophesying Adam Lambert’s fame and success is now out of the realm of fan fiction and into predictable reality. Monday night in London performing to a sold out enthusiastic crowd Adam Lambert ended the European portion his tour.

The reviews are in and the London Times called Adam “as flamboyantly fabulous a performer as Freddie Mercury” and noticed that when Lambert took the stage “it was impossible to tear your eyes off him”. The Guardian described the performance as ” drama mixed with soul-saturated vocals”. Except for the final hometown show dates in LA at the Music Box on December 15 and at the Nokia on December 16 the Glam Nation Tour has concluded.

Lambert’s first headlining tour gave us an inkling of the kind of artist he is and what he will become. Anyone who saw Lambert’s live performance realizes he will be an iconic transformative entertainer. Lambert is more than an enormously talented singer he is an artistic creator who embraces the transcendental qualities of sound to amalgamate emotion with the rhythmical cyclic values of the music, thus transforming the theater into an other worldly journey narrated by a hypnotizing storyteller.

Using sound and image Lambert burrowed into the realm of his experiences from classical training to his Zodiac performances focusing on the inevitable rituality of the performative act. Unconcerned with the façade of dramaturgy Lambert prefers to embrace the lucidity of his truth. It is with his purity and innocence juxtaposed with his raw sexuality that Lambert explores the junction between the audience and performer. It is from that seeming contradiction that Lambert derives his authenticity. Lambert is simultaneously both innocent and seductive. Adam Lambert is the work of art and the performer of art as all icons have been.

About Carol

I started writing on this site back in May 2009, not knowing what I was in for or where it would take me. I had no idea of the joy and personal satisfaction I'd find here. I never dreamed that I'd get to meet Adam, but that dream came true! The bonus of becoming such great friends with Lila and the other fans is what keeps me going. Music gets me though every day. In addition to Adam, I love Muse, Linkin Park, 80s and finding newer bands and supporting them by attending everything that's within 350 miles. With Adam, the boundaries are farther! Thanks for joining us on this ride! :)

    Love-Peace-Light-Truth………………………………………………….!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂

    • Golden tulip says:

That’s it, he only just begun! I totally agree. Adam is going to be as famous and as important to the music world as Elvis or Fred Mercury! He is an icon on the go, he is brilliant !!!!!

    • What a wonderful article. I’m so glad I got to see Adam perform live even if it was just one show. I plan to continue attending his concerts and hopefully meet up with y’all again.

Congratulations to Adam as he continues to wow audiences all over the world.

      Peace and love.

  5. Adamesque says:

I love reading articles like this! I feel so lucky to have been at two of these amazing shows. Adam is going to be an icon (he is for me already!). LOVE seeing good things happen for him!

Read it once, and then read it again!!! Kerry’s piece could have been written by everyone of Adam’s fans, as we one and all feel the same. But Kerry said it better and I wish to add my thanks along with others for putting our feelings so beautifully to word. Stories such as this give us fans the validation we knew we deserved for recognizing this amazing talent and standing by his side through thick and thin. This has truly been a magical summer. The Grammy nomination indeed gives him validity as a superstar. I, personally, cannot wait until February and the Grammys, even if he does not win this year. We, the Glamily, think of Adam as part of our own extended family. To say we have a personal stake is to minimize our feelings. Again, my thanks for a wonderfully written article. BTW, I agree 100% with Kerry, Adam’s ability to perform on so many platforms is beyond amazing and impossible not to recognize.

  7. Anyone know if the Zodiac movie was made and if so when it’s coming out?

  8. I guess she sort of likes Adam Lambert……:) We do too. Great article and I hope she is right about his career.

  9. Wow, How often in our lives do we get to witness the rising stars that will be iconized forever? I watched Elvis shine begin in the 5i0’s, then the Beatls, and now Adam OK, I’m old. but I’m still here to enjoy the music!

  10. Dream scenario for me is Adam attending the Grammys and singing the acoustic version of WWFM looking alot like he did when he sang Tracks of my Tears on Idol! Hair slicked back, minimal makeup, suit etc. I have now chosen Tracks as my favorite Idol performance by Adam! It took a long, long. long, time for me to choose but there was something about the simpleness of his character that dd it for me not to mention those beautiful teeth, eyes, hair etc. I really, really hope we get to see a performance on the Grammys! IT”S PAST TIME!!!
On another note, does anyone know how to send a utube video to Carol or any of the other writers? I found a great one on Utube about the end of the Glamnation Tour! Everyone HAS to see it!! So awesome! IF you have time you can go to Monte Pittmans twitter and he tweeted about it! Unbelievable! I have watched a million times! Let me know if anyone finds it!!!

    • Sigh….that would be my dream scenario, too!!!! That was the AI performance that made me fall in love with Adam. (Think my jaw hit the floor that night when I saw him! Absolutely stunning!!)

  11. I love how more and more people are beginning to reaalize (what we already knew) that Adam is “Iconic” and you just can’t put “Baby” in the corner!! Thank you for sharing this with us. Paula Abdul hit it right on the nose when she said she knew with every fiber of her being that Adam would be iconic!! He is magical, magnetic and mezmerizing and oh so brave and fierce. I am so elated that I am along for the ride in this amazing journey. I am in Florida and I would love to meet other fans in this area.

    Hug’s to All,

    Nana #1 (glam #488)

  12. @ Neena, agree with you about what paula Abdul said, she was nice to all contestants but never said thing like iconic or you will leave others in the rear view mirror sort of things, paula may look like babbling drunk aunt but she knows what she is talking about, even Cara in the begining she was all like..oh you are not touching(heart felt),but she too stopped being fake and started to praise Adam(under Adam’s spell) Adam Lambert is amazing and we fan knew from the beginig, he will be iconic I believe that 100%. Thank you Kerry for a well written article about our beloved Adam,my feeling exaxtly but I am not that articulate, thank you.

  13. I agree with you GLAMITUP. i fell in love with Adam too in the Tracks of my Tears. He was a bit melancholy there with all his repressed needs. He not only displayed mastery of his song, voice control and vocal technique, but mastery of emotions as well. My gosh…. He held our emotions like putty in all his maneuvering….. like a baby who thirst for milk. Our Oxytocin hormone spurted from our pituitary gland to eject milk… Like instinctual mothers that we are, we “breastfeed ” him from our loving kindness. He – He !
But even before this, we had our orgasm during the RING OF FIRE performance.
Oh, Adam, you make us feel, more like a woman again. You awaken emotions long buried.

  14. What? Because emotions can be in the freezer in this mechanical world. You bring back poetry, music and dance in my life. We just want to fall in love again. We just want to relish emotions. The loving and being loved. BRAVO ADAM !!!!
