I did a Search last night on my cable guide for Adam Lambert, and was happily surprised to find he’s scheduled to be on Bravo TV’s Watch What Happens Live this Thursday, May 24th at 11 PM/10 Central. Also on the show that night will be Beth Ditto. She is listed on Wikipedia as an indie singer-songwriter and is the vocalist of Gossip. I checked the Trespassing credits and don’t see her name. Do any of you know of a connection between Adam and Beth?
WWHL is one of my favorite shows! I’m a Reality TV junkie and watch almost all of the Bravo shows. Yes, every Housewife of . . ., every cooking show, Bethenny, Inside the Actor’s Studio and even some of the Millionaire Real Estate Guy shows. They’re so addictive! WWHL is hosted by programming executive Andy Cohen in New York’s Bravo “Clubhouse,” in front of a small, live audience Sunday through Thursday. NY Glamberts, I looked for a link so you could apply for tickets, but apparently it’s a well-kept secret.
WWHL consists of discussion on that night’s new Bravo episode with Cohen and one or two guests. These guests are very often actors from the shows (referred to as Bravo-lebrities) or celebrities who are fans of the shows. I haven’t heard Adam say that he watches any of these shows, so I’m curious to see if he reveals a new secret passion!
JUST ADDED! Tweet questions for Adam to @BravoAndy!
The show is full of entertaining bits, starting with Cohen’s nightly Three Things I’m Obsessed With. From there he moves on to questions with the guests, Game Time for Bravo merch, and Plead the Fifth. In that game, he asks each guest three uncomfortable questions, and they can only bypass or “Plead the Fifth” on one of them. (One of my pet peaves is every time he says Fifth, he seems to forget there’s a second “f” in the word and says “fith.” Sorry!) I hope he asks something new of Adam! Unless the answer will be hurtful to someone close, Adam will probably reveal anything!
Cohen concludes the show with his Mazel of the Night where he recognizes something positive, and his Jackhole, where he calls out something negative. The show usually continues online, where additional fun with the guests is uncensored and unfiltered. Since there’s no performances on the show, maybe Adam will sing on this after-show? Tune in immediately. I don’t know if the after-show show stays online for more than 24 hours.
Andy Cohen grew up in St. Louis, as a closeted gay kid. He was in love with TV, especially All My Children’s Susan Lucci. He dreamed of getting into TV and succeeded spending 10 years with CBS News before working at Bravo. He’s just released his first book, Most Talkative, the same title he took in high school. His advice to readers? “Follow your passion. Be yourself, but check yourself before you wreck yourself.” I love the fact that he’s Jewish and brings some of that culture with him, in the form of expressions and attitude. It makes me feel like I’m back sitting at my family’s table.
Mazel to you Andy Cohen for giving us 30 minutes with Adam Lambert this Thursday!
