Adam Lambert’s WWFM Covered on The Sing Off

To have your song covered is a mark of success. Adam Lambert had that on last season’s The Voice, and now it’s happened again. On Monday’s The Sing Off, female a cappella group Delilah sang Whataya Want From Me and received rave reviews. I find it interesting that some of Delilah’s members were part of other groups that appeared on seasons’ one and two of The Sing Off. How smart was that?

If you haven’t seen this show before, it’s a competition between singing groups who sing a cappella – using only their voices to sing the melodies with beat box accompaniment. The styles range from traditional to gospel to rap. All of the groups feature several members who can sing powerhouse vocals. Returning this season as judges are Ben Folds (The Ben Folds Five) and Shawn Stockman (Boys to Men). New to the panel is singer Sara Bareilles. These judges really speak with knowledge and address the technical aspects of the performance. The show airs Mondays and Tuesdays.

Catch Delilah’s performance of Adam’s song below, courtesy of mrduckbear11. Do you think the ladies purposely wore pink to honor Pink, the song’s author? Thank goodness they also threw in some black leather and sparkles! Accident? I think not! I’ve also included their incredible version of Bruno Mars’ Grenade, from the first week. Thanks again to mrduckbear11 for this. For both videos, follow the link to watch on youtube. Sorry I couldn’t find it to play from the site.

Love ya!

About Carol

I started writing on this site back in May 2009, not knowing what I was in for or where it would take me. I had no idea of the joy and personal satisfaction I'd find here. I never dreamed that I'd get to meet Adam, but that dream came true! The bonus of becoming such great friends with Lila and the other fans is what keeps me going. Music gets me though every day. In addition to Adam, I love Muse, Linkin Park, 80s and finding newer bands and supporting them by attending everything that's within 350 miles. With Adam, the boundaries are farther! Thanks for joining us on this ride! :)

delilah did a great rendition of adams first hit.

  2. They did a good job. You know what the next sentence is….Adam does it BETTER!!!!!! Of course, he does everything better, doesn’t he?

  3. Well done!!! However, Ben Folds…..I’m not even going there.

  4. I thank and appreciate Delilah for choosing ADAM”s song.
I’ve been very impressed with them when I heard their Grenade rendition.
They’re outstanding and I’m happy for ADAM.

  5. To do someone elses song is the best form of flattery. Adam did many artists on Idol, better because
he did HIS version. Some of the original songs I never paid much attention to, until Adam sang them.
The girls did a great job in exposing Adams song, I wish more shows would do the same. This will
    only promote his career .

  6. It does my heart good knowing we are not the only ones (Fans) that reconized Adam’s beautiful voice and the great guy that he is!!

  7. Lila - Glamb #3 says:

It’s hard to find someone who can do Adam’s song justice, but they did fabulous! Too bad the judges on this show are snooze-worthy. They’re the only constants in a show like this and have to be fabulous to hook me.

  8. cory-coralys says:

Adam does much, much better, miss him in the stages and the radio and the news of his presentations.

  9. Ok, what’s with these judges that never want to give Adam Lambert credit. First, you had Adam Levine making a comment that he had never heard the song before…PULLEESSSE! Then, this guy saying that he didn’t get the song before, but now he does…double PULLEESSSE!

Why can’t anyone say, “What an awesome rendition of Adam Lambert’s smash hit,” or something like that?

Excellent rendition of Adam Lambert’s smash hit, girls!
